Albus Potter walked quickly though the library in search of his cousin Rose. He found her seated at a table on the far right corner of the non-restricted session. She was alone which immediately struck Albus as strange. Usually, if Rose was in the library, Scorpius Malfoy was with her. His absence caused an unconscious twinge of disappointment for Albus which he quickly pushed aside.
“Hey Rose.” He said sitting at the table with her.
“Hi Albus.” She responded shortly, looking down at her book. This was also unusual, Rose was being strangely quiet. Any time Albus came around she would ask him how his classes were going, if he had heard from home, or how he was doing okay being the only Potter to ever be in Slytherin.
“What’s wrong?” He asked taking her book and moving it aside.
“Scorpius.” She answered.
“Did he do something to you?” Albus asked quickly.
“No,no.” She paused for a second thinking about how to describe the situation to Albus who was only slightly familiar with Scorpius. “He just has not been himself lately. I think something happened. When I ask, he says he is okay, but I don’t believe him.”
“Well he is your best friend. I’m sure he will tell you eventually.” Albus said coolly. His response hid his true feelings. He was worried too. If something happened to Scorpius, if someone hurt him, there would be hell to pay. The intensity of his own feelings for Scorpius were shocking. Albus had known that he had built some type of attachment to the boy over the years, but he never really thought about it. He was not even sure what kind of feelings they were, but if he had an urge to avenge Scorpius, they were probably more than the type of feeling he had for friends. Again, he pushed the thought out of his mind. He simply was unwilling to go there.
“Alright Rose, well I had better get down to the pitch. You are coming to the game?”
“Yes. I’ll be there.” She said reaching over for her book.
Albus opened his locker and pulled out green and silver quidditch robes. He threw them over his head and then bent down to pull on the black boots. Albus never did a lot of talking while he was getting ready for the game. It never really mattered that he did not talk to the rest of the team before they went onto the pitch, he was the seeker after all. Instead he quieted himself and began to gather his focus. Unfortunately, the rest of the Slytherin team did not do the same.
He liked the other boys on the team. It had taken them a long time to get used to having a Potter in their midst. In fact, it had taken a long time for all of the Slyterins to adjust to the son of Harry Potter. Of course some of them never accepted him, which only bothered him until second year when he became seeker. After he secured a win every game in that year, most of the house was happy to have him. He even managed to make a few friends.
Albus still made sure to stay close with his family, many of whom had also been sorted into houses other than Griffindor. He finished tying his boot and sat down on the bench thinking about the first time he saw his uncle Ron after being sorted into Slythein and he smiled. Uncle Ron had been shocked. However, over time, he and the rest of the family accepted that their Albus would be spending the next 7 years sleeping in the dungeons of Hogwarts.
“What did you do then?” said a voice as the door to the locker room swung open. In walked the slytherin chasers, Matias, Kraus, and Vincent. They did not acknowledge Albus as they walked over to their lockers and began to change. This was not unusual, they were among the group of slytherins who had never gotten past his last name.
“Well I’m pretty sure I ripped out some of his hair.” Vincent said with a sick smile. “Then I went in his mouth. I made him keep it shut so he could not spit any out.” The three boys laughed. “You should have seen his face!”
“Fuck Vince! That’s some good shit.” Said Matias gleefully.
“Well the little poofer bitch deserves it. His whole family is a bunch of traitors.” Added Kraus.
“Wait, wait, wait! That is not even the best part!” Vincent exclaimed. “He told me he did not want to fuck because I don’t love him.” With this, the other boys let out a roar of laughter.
“You are going to fuck him tho right?” Kraus asked.
“Well obviously.” Vincent answered. “Can you imagine the look on that bastard Draco Malfoy’s face when he finds out his son got it up the ass from a real pureblood?!” The laughter increased.
Albus’s stomach dropped and he became very sick. He looked up on the delight on the other boys’ faces and was filled with anger. He thought of Vincent tearing out Scorpius’s hair and using his mouth in such a disgusting way. He thought next of how small Scorpius was compared to the large imposing figure of Vincent who was one of the biggest boys in the entire school. He could throw Scorpius around like a child’s doll, from the sound of it, he had.
“You are discussing!” Albus shouted suddenly at the other boys.
“What’s wrong Potter? He is a fucking Malfoy! Why do you care?” Vincent spat at him.
“Because he is still a person!” Albus shouted back furiously “He is not his father!”
“Sounds like you have a soft spot for the little poofer, Potter!” Kraus answered.
“That’s enough!” Shouted another voice who had not joined the conversation until now. Razvan, the Slytherin team captain walked into the middle of the arguing boys. “I don’t know what’s going on between you two but it is going to have to wait until after the game!”
The game only lasted the 20 minutes it took for Albus to find the snitch, and was over before Huffelpuff even had a chance to score. After the game, he darted back to the lockeroom, changed, and ran back to the castle in search of Scorpius Malfoy.
