I am sorry for such a long wait but life happened, and well I should have more time now to update on a somewhat regular schedule! I do hope you enjoy and please review if you do! ~ Pygmy
Chapter Two : 1976 Week One
The first week was finally over and I had made exactly two friends; I honestly couldn't complain though, as it was better than being completely alone. Lucius had become a, well… I wouldn't say, close friend because that would mean he would actually have to talk about more than my "assets" or his wealth but a friend none the less and the other was a spunky girl named Molly Prewett who was also a 7th year like Lucius but was in the Gryffindor house. Sadly I didn't have classes with either of them seeing as I was only a fifth year; which I did find out was the same year as Severus, who also still was not speaking to me.
Landing not so gracefully on one of the sofa's in the common room I let a soft sigh escape my lips; closed my eyes and laid my head back. All I wanted was a nice hot bath, a book, and sleep; but dinner was soon and I knew if I missed it I'd just be hungry in the middle of the night. Feeling a swoosh of air on my left I cracked an eye open to see the mysterious boy from my first day settling down in an armchair in the corner and pulling out what looked to be the homework for potions. Biting my lip I took a chance and leant over the arm of the couch and levelled my gaze with him. He of course either took no notice or ignored my stare, clearing my throat a little I shuffled my legs to rest under my butt.
"Sev-." I was cut off by his hand going up with just a single pointer finger in the air, snapping my mouth shut I frowned and sat back some; my head tilting to the right a little. After what could have been ten minutes the common room door opened and Lucius came swaggering in with a petite blonde on his arm.
"Sam, what are you doing?" I nodded in the direction of Severus who still hadn't looked up. Lucius raised a brow and looked between the both of us before a wicked grin snaked up on his face. "I'll leave you to it then, Sev, Sam." Before he left Severus made eye contact with him and gave a sharp nod before looking back down. My mouth quickly turned into a sharp line and my legs had fallen asleep long before, getting fed up I went to move when his voice stopped me.
"Do not move." My mouth tightens, even more, anger flaring to life within me.
"Do not tell me what-" I was cut off yet again but this time it was to him standing 'Was he always that tall?' I thought as he made his way to where I was still at, sitting on my legs facing the arm of the couch. He wouldn't look at me but instead held out the parchment he had been working at for the last fifteen minutes or more. Glancing at his face and then the parchment I slowly lifted my hand and grasped it, lowering it to fully look at it a soft gasp escaped my lips; I had no words for what I was seeing… Snapping my eyes back up to his a light blush graced his cheeks before he lowered his head more, letting his hair hide his face even more.
"I wanted to give you something as a… apology of sorts…" His voice was barely above a whisper, I was speechless.
"It's… it's amazing, thank you." Looking back down at the parchment a smile formed on my lips, there in ink was me, sitting on the couch looking at him with a tilted head and a pout; it was beautiful. "I never even saw you look towards me, how did you do this?" This time a small smile came to his face and his dark eyes met mine.
"I do have my ways…"
"Whatever your ways are, I envy them…" Nibbling on my bottom lip I asked. "Would… would you like to sit with me?" With a swift nod, he moved to the other end of the couch, leaving a cushion between us; turning his way I finally stretched out my legs. "Owww," I mumbled with a hiss, giving them a rub I looked towards Severus. "Next time, let me at least be in a comfortable position so my legs don't go asleep." His chuckle sent a warm rush through my chest.
"No promises."
'Was this the start of a friendship?' I thought. 'I sure do hope so.'
