Hermione didn't get the luxury of the morning sun waking her up like Draco did. She instead awoke to a cold room, the size of a walk in closet, the only furniture in it was a twin bed in which she slept, a small muggle TV, some dusty chairs, and a few paintings which would talk to her quite literally every morning. She kept the 2 outfits she owned hanging from a hook above her bed. She sometimes enjoyed the quaint and non-deadly surroundings of her little abode, but most of the time she longed for more, so much more. Especially given the fact that her living quarters were part of the coffee shop that Muggles couldn't see.
Just like the route to Diagon alley, Hermione's living space was attached to a less magical and much more mundane Muggle-ish area. Her room was hidden behind a brick wall, which once Hermione tapped 7 times with her wand, would open up and reveal her less than perfect living situation. When she first moved to Muggle London she thought she'd get an Apartment, maybe save up and get a house, but although she would never admit it to herself, she was terrified of change. Which made sense because the last major change in her life ended with a scar on her forearm reading "Mudblood", and night terrors that prevented her from sleeping more than two hours at a time.
Hermione looked around her room, the painting of a Royal family hung beside her television and the young son of the painting spoke up. "Look Mum, it's Harmony". The mother in the painting shook her head "It's Hermione, Pascal". "Oh" The young boy returned. Hermione smiled at the portrait and advised them to all sheild their eyes, as she was about to change clothes. She appreciated the paintings speaking with her, although it sometimes she swore she was going absolutely bonkers, given the only conversations she had were with painted people.
Hermione used the bathroom in the shop to freshen up. She had put a shower in there too, but had cloaked it with an invisibility spell. Most muggles would be confused with a shower near their community commodes. She pulled her hair back into a neat bun, and splashed her face with cold water. It was what really woke her up. She refused to use magic to help herself wake up, and she was just about sick of coffee so she used the homeopathic age old rememdy of water to stimulate her otherwise numb skin.
The young witch then strode into the shop, did some dusting of the tables and chairs, then began to make the morning coffee. She heard the door chime at 8:30 on the dot, exactly when her shop opened up and there was a line formed before she even had enough coffee to satisfy half of those people. "It is going to be just a manic wednesday" she thought to herself shaking her head, her day beginning with the only words occasionally escaping her mouth "One second" and "Not yet" and "Have a nice day sir".

Draco woke up at 8:45. He awoke to the sun shining through his window and for the first time in years he didn't push his face back into his pillow like a tired and grumpy toddler trying to get a little more sleep. He woke up happy. He took notice of the dust particles floating around the sun beam that made it's way through the glass of his window and he opened it up.
"Bout time I get some fresh air in here" he said to himself
The new day had made Draco feel like a new man. Ever since his conversation with Hermione, he felt like he wasn't well, a foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach, and that made him feel kind of good. He even pulled his wand out and waved it like an inexperienced 3rd year, just learning how to face Boggarts. Little bits of raw magic emitted from his wand. It reminded him of when he was a child, and his mother would tell him that his wand when he got it would sense whatever mood he was in and that would be the aura it emitted.
Draco saw pink beams and light waver from his wand. It was a happy wavering, one that he thought he might never see again.
"Accio Robes" Draco said flicking his wand, the clothes flying to him. He draped his robes over his arm and made his way to his bathroom. He set the clothes down neatly on his sink then hopped in the shower. He made sure to really smell good, and that his hair was immaculately clean. He was seeing Hermione tonight afterall.

By the time 3 o'clock rolled around people were just about finished getting coffee, and the line around The Witches' Brew had narrowed to one last person, whom Hermione served and watched walk out of the shop. She sighed and sat back in her chair. She didn't know how she handled so many people, especially since she wasn't using magic.
Hermione tapped the wall to her room rythmically and saw her old wand on her nightstand. It had been there for ages, but it seemed like in that moment that she was just now noticing it. It seemed to draw her in, play with her senses. It had so many memories that went along with it. So many good times, so many triumphs. It could hurt to maybe just float a pencil right?
Hermione walked to her wand cautiously as if it would jump and strike at her. Her fingers wrapped around it tightly and the wand seemed to come to life in her hand. She waved it and a greenish and blue hue emerged from it. She had read about Wand Auras, and green meant nervious but blue meant excited. And she was very much both she waved it around and began to do such mediocre spells. "Lumos!" she said as every light in her room turned on, "Knox!". This feeling was intoxicating and she couldn't get enough. Finally the Painting's began to protest and she ceased, laying down on her bed.
Hermione couldn't figure out why but she felt powerful. She had only done two very simple spells, but it felt like a weight had been lifted from her. She laid in the ambient quiet of her room, when she heard the door to the shop chime. Oh crap! Had she not put the closed sign up? She waved her wand and a peephole appeared on her wall. She looked through it to see a tall blonde wizard looking about the shop.
She quickly emerged from her abode and greeted him.
"Hi Draco"
Draco jumped and faced the smiling witch. He ran his fingers through his hair sheepishly
"Hi Hermione. I was going to show up later, but I was finished with class so.-
"Oh I don't mind the company" she interrupted
"Where did you even appear from?"
"Oh I um live here"
"Here?" Draco scoffed "In this coffee shop?"
Hermione laughed "No. Well kind of. I will show you"
She then walked up to the wall and tapped her wand on it, the wall opening up revealing her tiny room.
Draco's eyes widened. He thought HE had been living in a shack. "Hermione. No offense of course, but how in Merlin's name do you survive like this"
Hermione blushed "Well, I am not a huge fan of big living spaces, and my cat, Hermes, is an outdoor cat, so he isn't really fazed by the living space" she forced a laugh
"Well if you ever want to escape this nightmare you are free to come sleep with me!"
Draco realized what he said, and his face blushed a deep tone of magenta
"I think you know what I meant" he said trying to regain his composure.
"I think so" Hermione said trying to laugh it off "So would you like to try some coffee?"
"Sure. What kinds do you have?"
"Well" Hermione started grabbing at a spare menu "We have Frappecinos, cappecinos, machiattos-
"Are you speaking latin or some shit?" Draco said
"No they are the names of coffee"
"This is just confusing, why don't you get me what you usually have"
"I usually have a tall frappe myself. Well when I used to drink coffee that is"
"What on earth is that?"
"Let me show you".

The coffee machine buzzed and Draco covered his ears, his snootish behavior never quite leaving him. Hermione rolled her eyes at this but continued to prepare Draco's drink. She swirled whipped cream on the top and sprinkled some light chocolate crumbles then handed it to Draco.
He sniffed it like it might have been poison and said "Are you sure it's... safe"
"Draco why would I not make you something that's safe?"
"To get back at me for being such a git when we were kids"
"Oh I am sure I will have lots of time for that, since after you taste this you will be coming back every day for me... I mean more"
Draco winked at her, gulped then took a sip of the coffee drink "Well Hermione" He smacked his lips "It Isnt THAT go-" he took another drink "Hmm, it makes my tongue tingle". He took another long slow sip "I think I like this. Make me more"
Hermione huffed at him "I will tell you what, if you keep coming to see me, I will keep making you coffee drinks"
"Ooooohhhooo" Draco whistled, obviously buzzed from the caffeine "You don't have to offer me anything for my presence but it is nice"
"Draco have you ever had Caffeine before?"
"Is that like another coffee name?"
"Uh oh"
*******
Draco was short of literally bouncing off of every coffee shop wall.
"Damn Hermione, I haven't had this much energy in Merlin knows when!" He giggled and Hermione crossed her arms "Just don't break anything!"
Draco paced back and forth the coffee joint, he was flailing his arms like a mad man. "Look Hermione, look at me!" He jumped about a foot in the air "I betcha didn't know I could do that shit without magic"
Hermione cracked a smile. This new hyper Draco was kind of amusing. He then did a ballerina spin and knocked his cup to the ground smashing it.
Hermione's smile faded as she said a cleaning charm. It didn't work. She tried again. Nothing. She was getting really frustrated whe Draco chimed in, "Emmaculatus!" and the cup was once more back together again. Like it had never been dropped.
"How did you do that?" Hermione demanded
"Um Magic"
"I know" Her brow furrowed
Draco caught her drift "You know Hermione, you have been so kind to me tonight, how about tomorrow I repay you with some magic lessons"
"I don't take lessons from the likes of you"
"Suit yourself" Draco did another spin, almost knocking down his cup and Hermione sighed
"Alright Draco. Be here tomorrow after work. We can have our lesson then"
"It's a date" Draco said, still high off of sugar. He danced to the door "See you tomorrow sweetheart"
Hermione rolled her eyes. Should she have worned him about the sugar crashes?
No matter. He'd probably be just fine...
