The bed was comfy, He knew he was in the medical wing.
The curse still lingered.
He had time to rest.
Harry fought that fake bliss.
It was a stubborn thing. It had been cast by the dark lord after all. Not some weak thing. Little by little, He focused his will. He dedicated it to throwing off this insidious control.
Harry lurched and shuddered for a moment and then at long last the curse ended, and Harry was free again. Like a fever dream the curse unraveled and was no more.
He felt exhausted.
“How long had he been out?” He wondered there on the table was a massive pouch emblazoned with the Triwizard tournament.
Harry vividly remembered ending the traitor’s life. The Killing Curse was truly a wonderous thing. A green flash and the sound of rushing wind that rat was dead.
Harry remembered summoning the goblet of fire. But nothing else. There was a gap between his slaying of wormtail and him using the dark mark.
One thing however was certain.
Voldermort had returned… Harry held his head in his hands overwhelmed. He had in panic believed Cedric to have been killed but that wasn’t the case since Cedric Diggory.
“Saved” him.
He sorta wished he could be sorry about Wormtail’s death. That he hadn’t meant it. Harry did mean it and he wished it sickened him that he lamented the instant death he had delivered.
Wormtail deserved to suffer before he died.
He rubbed his eyes and opened them to behold the blurry world without his glasses. His glasses and wand at the adjacent nightstand.
He banished the blurry world by putting on his glasses and he kept his wand close. Just holding it, Harry could feel a change in his wand.
It was different now. He was different now. It felt dangerous.
In fighting terms alone, the ability to instantaneously murder an opponent with a single curse was what Hermione would say efficient.
Why disarm or stun an opponent when you can simply remove them forever?
“Harry!”
His emerald eyes widened at the voice he hadn’t thought he hear.
“Sirius?” Harry croaked out. He grimaced as his hands went to his throat. He had nearly crushed his own throat due to Voldermort’s imperious curse.
None of that mattered the moment Harry was hugged by his godfather. It all just trickled away into nothingness.
It had been a year since Harry had seen Sirius Black. An earnest smile and the haggardness of Sirius’s face had mostly lifted. That casual elegance peeked through past the hardship. Those gray eyes full of joy.
“I’ve been exonerated Harry!” Sirius beamed with joy. Harry embraced the hug. He felt the embrace of this well-built man. His short illustrious black hair.
Harry was content with the world. His Godfather was back… No more Dursleys.
He couldn’t be happier.
“Wormtail is dead.” Harry said in the smallest voice he could.
“That traitor should have died rather than forsake his friends.” Sirius fiercely spoke. That anger unspooled made Harry feel better.
Someone understood.
“I watched him die.” Harry truthfully acknowledged. Sirius hugged him. He very nearly told Sirius what he had done but Sirius wouldn’t understand.
None of them could understand. He needed to die and so Harry obliged. Sirius’s professionally tailored black suit was warm and comforting.
Sirius raged impotently for a moment and then morosely let Harry go. He covered his mouth with his hand.
“You shouldn’t have had to see that. Some Godfather I turned out to be.” Sirius sulked as he sat on the bed next to Harry.
Harry’s inner thigh burned for a moment. Harry grit his teeth and refused to flinch as the pain receded.
“You can make it up to me.” Harry’s emerald eyes glinted
Sirius chuckled.
“Give me a month Harry and you will never go to those muggles again.” Harry blinked.
“WHAT!” Harry felt his heckles raise as he yelled.
Sirius Black’s gray eyes looked at him apologetically.
“The place I’m staying at isn’t safe. Its doxy infested. One month, I promise.” Siruis’s grin was honest.
Harry couldn’t stay mad at his godfather.
“I suppose I can forgive you… Maybe.” Harry broke out in an infectious grin.
“One month.” Sirius promised sincerely.
“No more Dursleys!” Harry all but shouted in joyful exclamation. Sirius got off the bed
“You missed Dumbledore’s speech last night. The Minister made it quite clear that he refuses to believe in Voldermort’s return.” Sirius said.
“The ministry is going to make things difficult, aren’t they?” Harry asked to confirm. Sirius nodded.
“You enjoy the last day of school okay?” Sirius hugged him before he departed the room.
Harry stretched and got out of bed. Harry quickly scanned the empty hospital wing and saw no one.
Not even the other champions.
He dropped his trousers. His inner thigh was inflamed where the black lines of the mark Harry was quickly learning to despise.
The grinning skull with the serpent emerging through its mouth.
The Dark Mark smiled back at him. He quickly stepped out of his trousers and bunched up his underwear in his hand. Pulled his trousers up and stuffed it into his pocket. The rawness of sensation made him shiver.
Harry holstered his wand.
His stomach growled.
Harry grabbed the bag of Triwizard earnings and headed towards the great hall.
Harry was quite glad he was wearing robes. The lack of underwear was providing a wealth of unwanted sensations. Harry lamented a stiff breeze could get him hard.
Everyone was rather frolicking around doing everything people usually did on the last day. It was quite by accident he found Fred and George.
He waved them over. He was glad to find the twins.
“Quickly, Here!” The red heads barely had time to blink before he handed the prize money off.
“I don’t want it and I don’t need it.” Harry bade. He remembered that they wanted to pursue their joke shop seriously.
Harry didn’t want questions. So, he just took off and hurried away from the twins.
“Harry-“They exclaimed.
Harry Potter had already turned the corner and was gone.
He hobbled quickly through a few corridors and hallways. Cedric turned the corner and spotted him.
He pointed to an unused classroom and Harry sighed and followed him. The door locked behind them.
Cedric was as he always was. Burly, built extremely handsome. His gray eyes, dark hair and chiseled features loomed over him.
Harry coughed and mumbled in embarrassment and then straightened.
“Thank you, for saving me.” Harry had been imperiused but still Cedric saved him.
“If anyone should be saying that. It should be me.” Cedric replied and then he went stoic.
“What happened after I was stunned?” Harry didn’t remember much.
“The bastard who stunned you quickly pinned me with a gravestone angel and… Voldermort returned through some dark potion.”
Harry divulged.
“Cedric…” Harry’s emerald eyes glanced that the stoic face.
“I lost….” Harry felt tears coming on.
I lost badly.” He began to ramble
“Voldermort got into my head and the only reason either of us survived was because I fled to your body. “
“I-I thought they killed you. I- I wasn’t just going to abandon your body in that graveyard. The moment I reached your body. I used the summoning charm on the goblet just as that rat faced bastard wrapped his hands around my neck.”
“I ran away.”
Cedric closed on him. He towered over Harry and he flinched as Cedric wrapped an arm around him in a hug and with the other tousled Harry’s already unruly hair.
“That was incredibly brave Harry Potter.” Harry was stunned.
“Great wizards and witches have died fighting Voldermort. There is no shame retreating from a battle you have no chance of winning. The fact that neither of us died is frankly a miracle.”
Cedric looked down at him bitterly.
“The Minister of Magic refuses to believe the dark lord has returned. He threatened Dumbledore and he threatened me during the feast and everything. The Ministry of Magic is going to come after us.”
Cedric finished. He looked quite uncomfortable. “ I heard the dark lord’s voice. Dumbledore believes us.”
“I believe you, Harry…. Just… Be careful, Harry Potter.”
Harry’s heart pounded in his chest. Something woke in him. Cedric leaned in.
Cedric’s lips drew near. Harry’s emerald eyes dilated. Harry felt like he had in the graveyard.
Harry’s lips touched Cedric’s and the sheer pleasure and feeling of supremacy. Power coursed through his veins and made him rock hard.
Cedric was his to command.
It was quite an unwelcome surprise as Cedric suddenly broke contact and before Harry could react there was a loud slamming door.
As Cedric cowardly fled. Cedric would be punished for this. Harry decided.
He would absolutely be punished for fleeing.
The rush of power began to ebb. Harry tried to push it down. He didn’t know what was going on. This wasn’t him. This wasn’t-
“Harry? We can’t accept the prize money.” Two red headed twins. Fred and George Weasley.
“Get in here, and Lock.The.Door.” Harry rasped.
Harry stretched his neck and all his muscles unwound themselves.
It surged and roiled through him. As if he was on his firebolt streaking through the sky moments away from catching the snitch.
He would allow Cedric to escape… For now.
“Harry?” Came the frightened voices. He felt their fear. He tasted that nervous uncertainty and he reveled in it.
“You would deny me, my right to give a gift to whomever I choose?” Harry’s voice lowered.
“Very Well…” Harry’s body clenched. He was so hard it hurt.
“Then you will earn it. “
Harry’s wand was out
“Colloportus!” The door made an odd squelching sound as it sealed itself.
“Accio!” As Harry ripped the bag containing the winnings from the Triwizard from Fred’s grasp into his own.
“Duel me for it” Harry grinned. Harry bowed with his wand out. Dueling after all required some formalities.
Fred and George hesitantly clutched their wands.
“Har-“
“Protego!” The shield charm sprang up instantly and Harry erupted into movement. The shield charm vanished as Harry dove to the side. Constantly moving.
“Flipendo!” Harry blasted George who sailed backwards with a loud bang. Harry wasn’t going to pull any punches. Not anymore.
Harry rolled and flicked his wand at a desk before aiming right at Fred.
“Depulso!”
They might be older than him. But he was quicker, and Fred barely got time to blink as suddenly a table.
Fred’s look of surprise was delicious as he vanished beneath the table.
After that it was pretty simple for Harry to simple use the disarming charm on them both. Incredibly bored.
As caught, both of their wands with all the grace of a seeker.
“Well… This wasn’t fun at all.” Harry tried not to be disappointed and failed.
He gingerly laid the wands downright next to the bag with the Triwizard earnings. Harry strode to the door he had locked.
“Alohomora!” He whispered as he pointed at the door and the door squelching before it swung wide.
He heard the groans.
“You don’t deny me my ability to gift. Ever.” Harry threatened.
He departed and little by little he began to think clearer. As the power seemed to fade away.
What was happening to him? Harry wondered as he put his wand away.
The rest of the last day. Harry packed his things. Lost in thought.
He remained to himself and the train came to take him back to the Dursleys.
For a brief moment.
Harry felt like himself again.
Hermione with her familiar bushy hair and Ron’s earnest smile banished his worries and just for a little while.
The Boy Who Lived was merely a teen with his best mates and everything was right with the world.
