Two days later Tommy had his wand and was going to start learning to channel his magic through it as soon as his playtime was over. He was driving around in his new toy car that his daddy had bought him. He liked it. He'd been upset when he'd driven into a tree but his car had fixed itself so that he could continue to play in it. Jormy was on the seat next to him. They were enjoying the bright summer day when suddenly the grounds were filled with Aurors.
He screamed and began crying loudly his mommy was already running towards him as an Auror removed him roughly from his car and tossed him on the ground. Jormy followed.
"YOU DARE TO HURT MY SON?!" Bella bellowed.
Her madness was showing but she went for her baby first and pulled him and Jormy into her arms and stood. She was pissed when they took Tommy's car and toys in their search for Dark Items. Voldemort was livid and thankful that he'd perpared against this. He was going to find out who was responsible for this how dare they raid his summer home!
Every magical five year old in the U.K. or any going to Hogwarts Academy were at St. Mungos children ward for their shots and check ups.
Bella burst into the room carrying Tommy.
"My son must be seen at once!" She demanded at the check in. "The Aurors raided our home and I think his arm is broke he says it hurts when he moves it! Get my sons Healer! NOW!"
The poor girl behind the counter ran off into the back and returned with a female Healer.
"Hello, Tommy." she said, softly. "What seems to be the problem today?"
Tommy touched his right arm gently and sniffled.
"You're arm hurts?"
Tommy nodded.
"Well, lets get a look at it shall we?" She did some movements with her wand and Tommy's elbow turned red. "Oh, dear, Tommy have you been drinking your milk?"
Tommy nodded.
"Really? This scan says your bones are very weak."
"Tommy drinks three cups of milk a day, Tommy eats yogert too." Tommy swore.
"I make sure Tommy drinks a lot of milk!" Bella cried, "What's wrong with my baby?"
Voldemort was now standing beside her.
"I will need to do more scans during his appointment but I think he may have a calcium defincy." the Healer said, "I don't know why we haven't caught this before. I'll heal the breaks and make a copy of the scan for you for your lawsuit." she focused back on Tommy. "It'll hurt a bit, Tommy."
Tommy nodded and let his elbow be healed. He sniffled again when it was over. He felt a tug on his foot and looked down to see a worried Darco who held his arms up to his baby cousin. Tommy wiggled and Bella put Tommy down as she gushed her thanks to her Healer.
Draco took Tommy's hand and lead him over to his blocks. Tommy loved blocks. Tommy though climbed up on his uncle Lucius' lap and told him about the mean Aurors who hurt him.
"An' they took my flying dragon, an' they took my toy car, an' they took my bunny an' my books, " he continued to complain and Lucius took notes on what Tommy was saying. Draco was clinging to his daddy's leg and was outraged by what his cousin was saying. Why did Nymphy want to be one of these people? "My books! My new one that Tommy buyed himself!"
"Thank you, Tommy." Lucius said, "Now do you need to tell me anything else or may I go talk to your parents about this?"
"Okay, Uncle." Tommy said, and slid down to Draco. "Oh, they throwed Jormy too." He showed him Jormy who had a cast on. "They almost braked Jormy's neck. The Healer says Jormy will be okay though."
Lucius sneered as he wrote that down. He then looked to Bella and his Lord and began asking questions.
Meanwhile, Tommy was finally playing blocks with Draco.
Harry Potter walked over.
"Tommy looks pretty." Harry said, kissing Tommy's hand.
Tommy went red his eyes filling with tears.
"Go away we're playing blocks!" Draco demanded.
"Can I play with you too, Tommy?" Harry asked.
Tommy's lip quivered and tears threatened to fall out of his eyes.
"I'll be nice." Harry insisted. "I don't hit, or bite, or pull hair or anyting."
Tommy shook his head rapidly. Why couldn't he just be left alone to play with his cousin.
"okay, maybe later then." Harry said, and ran off to his mommy and daddy.
Unbeknownest to all the children there was a Child Psycologist walking around and taking notes on their interactions and behavior as part of their assessments. She would also be teaching their year at Hogwarts. She noted Tommy Riddle's shyness down at once and began plotting out ways to help him over come his problem.
Slowly one by one kids and their families were called back for their checkups.
Harry went back to try and play with Tommy five times during all of this but Tommy always almost cried and shook his head and Harry left not wanting to push his friendship on Tommy. He really wanted to be her friend though. She was so pretty even when she cried.
"Potter, Riddle, Malfoy, Dursley, Longbottom and Weasley." A Healer called. "You'll all go back for assessment now."
They were the families left.
They all went back. Five little boys and a little girl ran off to play but Tommy ran for the books so that he could find one like his he couldn't and that upset him. He really wanted his book back. He got a book anyway and sat down to read it to Jormy in Parseltongue.
The Weasley boy Ronald got his assessment first. He had to name his shapes, colors, count, and more. When he'd finished he was released to play and his sister was shooed off to join him. Neville Longbottom went next he was with his Gran as his parents had been tortured into insanity by Barty Crouch Jr four years earlier. Then it was Dudley Dursley's turn he struggled with everything much like Ron did and he couldn't read any words at all.
Harry made sure Tommy was nearby and then showed off everything his mommy, daddy, Padfoot and Moony had taught him. He saw Tommy glance at him.
"Very good, Harry." Healer Sparrow said, "Now lets see if you can recgonize some words......"
"I can read that book." Harry pointed to the book Tommy was holding. "That's Green Eggs and Ham. I like that one."
Tommy cocked his head to the side and handed the book over.
"I am Sam." Harry read. "I am Sam. Sam I am."
He went on to perfectly read the entire book though he struggled over a few words showing that he hadn't memorized the book just before coming and was reading indeed.
"Very good, Harry." Healer Sparrow praised. Harry beamed smugly. "Okay, go play."
Harry went to Tommy and handed the book back before running off to the climbing wall to show that he could climb it better than Ron, Neville, and his cousin Dudley.
Draco showed off that he was smart too though Healer Sparrow scolded him gently for memorizing the words of the Tale of the Three Brothers before sending him off to play. She then focused on Tommy.
Tommy sat in front of her hands on his toes with Jormy on his shoulders.
"This is Jormy." Tommy said, as she just sat and wrote. His voice was soft and shy. "He was named after the World Snake daddy told me bout. "
"Oh, really can you tell me the story?" Sparrow asked.
Tommy instantly did only getting a few facts wrong.
Sparrow tested Tommy and was shocked when he got a perfect score on not only the same test she'd given the others, the second one that she'd given Harry and Draco but the thrid one as well. She praised him and continued. By the end it was clear Tommy's only problem was he was shy and anti-social. The children played for a while more before one by one they were taken away for the actual checkups. Then Sparrow put them through various magical tests to test their magical cores. Draco, Harry and Tommy could all do a very weak Hover Charm at the end of the test for extra points. Neville had given it a good try and his feather had trembled for a full minute but had failed. He told Sparrow that he was using his daddy's wand. Which lead to his Gran being scolded and handing over the wand she'd had made for him even if she did want him to use his father's wand. The feather had lifted a bit then fallen again. Dudley and Ron hadn't managed anything.
"Oh." Lily Potter said, as she saw the man who entered with the vacination potions. "Severus."
Severus Snape inclined her head.
"SEV'RUS!"
Severus steadied himself as Tommy smashed into his legs followed by Draco. Tommy had cheered.
"SEV'RUS! SEV'RUS!" Tommy yelled happily bouncing up and down. "I want you meet Jormy."
"Jormy?" Severus asked, kneeling down. He cocked an eyebrow when he saw the snake and listened to Tommy babble about it. " A good name for a snake indeed, Master Tommy." Tommy beamed. "Even if Jormy will only reach 20 feet."
"No." Tommy said. "Jormy is a boy snake. Jormy reach 50 feet. See he has purple right here. Daddy and Nagini told me so."
Tommy was over joyed to see his favorite person ever. It had been weeks since he'd seen Severus. He showed off his wand and told Severus about all of his books and his new toys and the mean Aurors. This lead to Severus casting his own scans over Tommy's elbow and frowning at the results.
Severus was amused when it was Tommy who took his potions first but inraged when the boy had a reaction to both of them. How had he not known that Tommy had an allergy or sensitivity? He'd been around him since he was born. He quickly got that under control and gave him different vacinations. He didn't care much about the other boys except Draco who was his Godson so he didn't really care if they had reactions.
