Godric's Hollow was a town that was about half wizarding and half muggle, so even the funeral parlor had wizard workers. So from the Hog's Head, James flooed the Weiss Funeral Home and arranged for Lily's body to be picked up and prepped for the funeral. Next they needed to check out the house and see what was salvageable.
They were about to head home, when James remembered his broken wand, so they stopped off in Diagon Alley. They got there just as Ollivander was about to close up. Luckily though, Ollivander was aware of what the Potters had been through. He listened to how James' wand broke, and let them in to get a new one.
After a few moments of talking and new measurements, Ollivander started pulling wands down. James' first wand was 11 inches made of Mahogany and Dragon Heart String. So the new wands that were being tried out were somewhat similar.
First there were two Mahogany ones with different cores and lengths, then there were three more Dragon Heart String ones. It took about a half hour but in the end James ended up with an 11 inch Fir wand with a Unicorn hair core. They were about to leave the shop, and apperate back to Godrics Hallow.
"Fifi!" Iris said.
The three men looked, there was only one person Iris called Fifi. There was a woman there, on the shorter side with chin length angled hair, the back being shorter, and honey yellow eyes. She was not dressed in robes and cloaks like all the other witches around, she was dressed in black jeans, a red shirt, and black leather jacker with her black combat boots on.
"Felix!" Sirius said, and, after handing Iris back to James, went over to hug her, she hugged back.
"I needed to check on you guys after what happend," Felix said. Sirius was now behind her, hugging that way, she seemed unfazed like this happened alot.
"Thank you Felix," Remus said.
"Yes, thank you Felix," James said. "I know how busy you are with work. Padfoot complains about it a lot."
"The entire department is up in arms," Felix said. "We are back on basic Auror duty for the time being. Most are locating and rounding up Death Eaters."
"And you are not?" Sirius asked. "You are usually in the werewolf department, you can handle a Death Eather or two better then most."
"I talked to Moody and Shacklebolt," Felix said. "I have other duties for now." They all raised their eyebrows at her. "You guys are stuck with me. As the around the the clock Auror until Professor Dumbledore and the Minister feel it is safe." Sirius hugged her tighter, she just patted his arm.
"Are you alright with this?" Remus asked. "I know the werewolf department was your goal."
"I asked for this detail," Felix said. "Moody was going ask Selwyn from the VHN Department, but he didn't want to spend so much time around Remus."
"Sebastian is just dumb," Sirius said.
"Dumbledore also said having me around would easier for all you," Felix said. "We've known eachother for years."
"You and Lily were friends," Remus said.
"And the closest thing to a permant girlfriend Padfoot has ever had," James said. "Making you the twins unofficial godmother."
"Plus she is pretty badass when it comes to her Auror work," Sirius said. "So we know we will be safe."
"Don't curse infront the twins," James said.
They talked a bit more, and told her what they were doing next, so she apperated back to Godrics Hallow with them.
"Mama?" Harry questioned once they reached Godric's Hollow.
"Mama!" Iris said. James stood there with the diaper bag and teared up a little.
"This is the longest they have been seperated from her," Remus said.
"Why don't we visit Heinrich and Greta Weiss," Sirius suggested. "We can check out funeral options, and then get a room at the Fox and Hounds."
"That sounds like a good idea." Remus agreed. James just nodded.
The six of them headed to the Weiss Funeral Home, it was on the left side of the graveyard, while the church was on the right side. It was a small funeral home, and the family lived right above it. After a bit of checking things out, Felix went back outside and monitored.
"Hello," Greta welcomed them inside. "James, I am so sorry about Lily." She was trying to be nice, but also hiding a slight happiness. James understood; with his wife's death, the wizarding world was finally safe.
"We thought we'd get started on the planning," Sirius said.
"Ah of course," Greta said. "Heinrich is working on the body, Lily took top precedence. You can put Harry and Iris in with Georgina."
James and Remus put the twins into a playepen with a three-year-old girl with blonde curly hair. This was Heinrich and Greta's daughter Georgina. They also had a seven-year-old son named Vever.
"So where is Vever?" Remus asked.
"He's at a sleepover with his friend Sherman two blocks over," Greta said. She had them all sit down around a desk. "Now some big things to think about are casket types, tombstones, flowers and invitations. Oh, and it's best if you pick out a different outfit for her to be buried in."
"That.... that's..." James stammered, it was a lot for him deal with.
"One step at a time James," Remus reassured his old friend.
"Just name anything that comes to mind," Sirius suggested.
"The white lilies of peace for flowers," James said.
"They are actually called Peace Lilies," Greta said, writing things down. "Oh, and do you have prefered date for the funeral?"
"Oh," James thought for a bit. "This coming Saturday?"
"Of course," Greta said.
"The coffin," James said. "Is Mahogany with silk lining available?"
"We do not have any in stock," Greta said. "But I can definetly have one ready for the day of the funeral." At this point James was crying again.
"Sirius," James said. "Can you handle the invitations?"
"Of course," Sirius said. "Anything I can do to help. Should one be sent to Petunia?"
"Yes," James said. "And Remus, please the tombstone. I can't right now."
Remus nodded, then James got up and and headed back over to the playpen. Harry was playing with Georgina, but Iris was sitting in the corner, staring at nothing. James got up and it almost seemed like Iris was staring at a person who was talking to her. He picked up his daughter.
"Iris, sweetie," James said. "Who are you talking to?"
"Mama," Iris said. James blinked, confused.
"I know you want to see your mama," James said. "But," he could not figure out how to explain to a fifteen-month-old. "I'm sorry sweetie mama is gone."
