Little Lab of Horrors
Chapter 20 ~ Little Lab of Horrors
After acquiring the ingredients and making yet another uncomfortable trip to the Apparition point, the two Disapparated. Currently, Hermione sat in newly appointed partner's labs looking over the research Severus had done thus far, which was not much.
History concerning the Blood Bond was very vague. A ritual that consisted of exchanging blood between two people in love, true love it specifies, that binds them to each other 'forever'. It was the equivalent of Marriage in the Wizarding World. Bound to each other for life. Of course, divorce was practiced but only until recently. At least, divorce didn't end in death.
The way Draco acted toward her a few days ago suggested that someone who is blood bonded can still have outside pursuits, just never have the chance to bind to someone else, a person they truly love. A life full of scandal.
Hmm. Like father, like son.
Severus was right; this type of ancient magic was complicated and risky to mess with. It would be too easy to make a mistake with something as vague as this. Poor Narcissa. She sighed.
Hermione got to her feet and stretched, before rubbing at her eyes. She took a walk around his labs that were reminiscent of the Potions classroom at Hogwarts except more spacious, brighter, and less dank. Severus had quite a few rare substances, dangerous too. She bit her lip in excitement as she looked forward to working with him.
Walking into a secondary lab she found a huge terrarium that ran alongside the walls of the room. She bent down to look over his store of magical plants, such as belladonna, ginger, bubotuber. The soil changed according to the plant's natural habitat. Obviously, Severus made sure he had the most common ingredients within reach. No reason to visit Spinner's End and the like if you can grow it yourself.
She came a across a Venus Fly Trap and wondered why Severus had it. She ran a finger across the back of the plant's leaves that resembled an open mouth. It had a beautiful rosette in full bloom. An enchanting, yet dangerous plant. She gasped when she felt the plant move into her touch.
Hermione removed her hand and quickly rose to her feet. She looked down at the plant that which swayed ever so slightly. Perhaps, it was lunchtime. Yes, that's it. She had been looking over Severus' research for a good two hours.
Hermione left the labs to eat, leaving her thoughts of the carnivorous plant there.

Severus Snape found that dealing with Hermione and her new 'quirky trait' was turning out to be a huge pain in his pale ass. Not only did he have to continuously cast the Econtra Esurio spell while around her, he had to deal with the clueless men around her.
He was certain that quite a few of the men from earlier waited outside the Apothecary shop for Hermione to step out. They were much more agitated and aggressive, letting the witch know what they wanted. It was all quite vulgar really. Severus actually hissed at a man to back away from Hermione. For some reason, men tend to regress to their baser, animal instincts when it comes to territory.
He can't believe he hissed. He slapped his face when he remembered Hermione trying to stifle her laughter at his display of machismo. He locked himself in his study for most of the day and evening avoiding the witch. He was sure she was keeping herself busy by acquainting herself with his labs. He glanced at the clock, 11:45 pm.
Severus took a slow sip of his Firewhisky, letting it simmer before swallowing the heady drink. He sat in his study, leisurely staring out the window, as he broke down Hermione's condition.
She came between Veelas during a rather nasty fight.
She had been hit with the Eximo hex and inadvertently acquired Veela attributes:
-Long reddish-gold flowing locks instead of her mousy-brown curls
-Skin kissed by Moonlight
-Slight alteration to her body (Oh yes, he noticed)
-Sex Pheromones
Unlike normal Veelas, however, it seems that Hermione cannot consciously control her 'allure'. She is constantly in sex mode. Rather she is not the one turned on, but those around her.
Not much about Hermione Granger has changed only her appearance, but in a sense the Veela attributes take away from her uniqueness. Her brilliant, brilliant mind remains untouched fortunately, but the sex she emits will cause trouble for her constantly. The "sexy" vibe she gives off is contagious as it spreads to those around her, consuming them.
No, any thought of this witch as Hermione Granger is lost and replaced with "FUCK ME" plastered all over her. She is in fact losing her essence staying the way she is.
Severus blinked as he stared down his empty glass.
Essence.
Of Hermione Granger.
By gods, that was it. He needed to purify her essence. It was a complicated potion that took weeks to prepare and weeks to brew. It would be a long and grueling process, but that is expected when it is the purification of the very essence of a person. The core of their very being.
Besides, it would give him ample time to mold Hermione's thoughts of him in a better light. He liked the idea of being the one to seduce the nearly Veela witch. He smiled deviously at the thought.
He rose to his feet intent on finding Hermione. He reached her rooms to find everything in order, except her. He figured she would at least be in her rooms at this time. He furrowed his brow as he made his way down to the labs. No, he found his research splayed across the table, but still no Hermione.
In the corner of his eye he thought he saw a shadow in one of the secondary labs, the one with his plants. Severus turned his attention to the entrance. He heard rustling and saw a bit of soil thrown about. The dark wizard scowled.
Was the witch disturbing his plants? Aw, hell no. He strode off towards the room.
"Hermione Granger," he bellowed striding into the room, "What in the hell do you think you are - are - the FUCK?!" His eyes widened in horror at the monstrosity currently inhabiting his terrarium.
His once little Venus Fly Trap had grown well over seven feet. The base of the plant was about 5 feet around and the roots visible as they continuously writhed tangled in each other, trying to delve deeper into the soil. The vibrant green leaves, multiple mouths, lay open and waiting. Severus eyed them warily, noting that the concavity had changed so drastically that the mouths could easily hold his head and upper torso.
The leaves swayed and changed its position; it must be aware of his presence. No doubt the trigger hairs were much more sensitive considering how large the leaves were. The slightest change in the air, such as a breeze, may stimulate it. He wondered if the digestion process would quicken due to its size as well.
The dark wizard closed his eyes, mentally kicking himself, as he realized he left his wand in the study. He held his breath and slowly stepped towards the main lab. Keeping his eye on the carnivorous plant. The mouths swayed slightly again. He paused.
"Ah, there you are," a familiar voice called out. Hermione.
Severus' eyes met the witch's. She really did have the worst sense of time. His eyes widened as she approached the room. The plant swayed again, the mouths beginning to tremble. The red pigment on the inner leaves seemed to darken. It appeared to be groaning in anticipation.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked taking in Severus' unusual expression.
As soon as she stepped into the room, the slight change in the air was enough to make the plant react. Severus quickly pulled her into him and spinning away from the several chomping mouths. Hermione was breathing heavily in his chest, aware of securely being held up in Severus' strong arms. She barely caught a glimpse of a huge red mouth bearing down on her, before finding her safely in her former Professor's arms. This would be like the bazillionth time he saved her.
"It appears we have a man eater in our midst, Hermione," Severus muttered, carefully unmoving.
Hermione slowly ran her hands up the wizard's chest, and then rested her hands on his shoulders. Severus struggled not to shudder in response to the sensual movement. Hermione rose to her tip-toes to peer over his shoulder, which meant rubbing her body against his in the same manner as her hands.
Severus swallowed as he drank in her warmth flush against his body. He glanced down to find her in a simple white nightgown, one of a thin fabric. He suppressed a groan as well as the urge to tighten his embrace.
Hermione looked at the carnivorous plant and gasped, did she cause this? She knew the Veelas had an effect on plants, but not to this extent. Maybe that particular attribute mutated as she transformed. Shit, she didn't know if she could fix this.
"Do you," Severus rasped, his voice raw for some reason, "Do you have your wand?"
Hermione met his gaze, aware of how close his lips were, how he felt against her. She stared at his mouth. She slid one hand down his chest and reached into her pocket, drawing her wand. She noticed his Adam's apple bob up and down.
"Petrificus Totalus!" Hermione breathed. The plant's mouths closed up and groaned as invisible binds wrapped around it rendering it motionless.
The witch and wizard slumped into each other. Severus chuckled as he hugged the witch, slightly rocking her. They were scared to death of a bloody overgrown plant. He cleared his throat then pushed the surprised witch away, schooling his features.
He narrowed his eyes at her and murmured, "Something tells me you're the one to blame for it. What did you do to my plant so that it would completely ruining my stores of plants?"
Hermione began to get defensive, but knew he was right.
"I... might... touched... plant..." she mumbled angrily with downcast eyes.
"Excuse me," he raised his brow, "you what?"
He placed his index against his earlobe to emphasize.
"I said," Hermione started, "I might have... touched your Venus Fly Trap. But how was I supposed to know something like that would happen?!"
She threw her hands up in the air, before resting them on her hips.
"This is becoming even more troublesome."
"Yes, it is, witch," Severus smirked, "which is why we are going to kill 'Sexy.'"
"Kill... sexy?" Hermione asked hesitatingly.
"Yes, and get your essence back," Severus glinted with promise.
Hermione nodded in confusion completely taken by the dark wizard's assurance. She walked away wordlessly, completely exhausted. Hopefully, this will make more sense in the morning.

A/N: I hope this was enjoyable to read. I wanted to elaborate on the blood bond more to give other authors more to work with and explain the possible method of curing Hermione of her predicament as thoroughly as I could, in case I am not able to add anything else later. :^)
