Champion of Angel�s: Chapter 19

By the time Kiba and Demis reached their shared chambers, she could feel her shirt wet with tears. As Demis silently cried as she carried him. It took all her power to not go after that wolf and hurt him, for making her brother cry.

�Shh� little brother, everything will be alright.� Kiba whispered softly as she sat down on the sofa, her brother still holding tightly to her.

�Why would he say those things?� Demis whimpered into her neck.

�He is trying to get information little brother. And he as no tack as well.�

Demis looked up through his bangs at his sister, at her comment. His eyes puffy and red from crying. And when she looked into his eyes, he could see the truth in them. He could also tell that she was restraining herself from going after the wolf and doing serious damage.

�Don�t dwell on his words Demis, he means nothing in our lives.� Kiba announced next as she wiped the stray tears from his eyes. Before kissing his forehead. She couldn�t help but think she was missing something concerning the wolf and his friend. But refused to dwell on that as well.

�I�ll try sister; it�s just that I remember him and the other being around when I was a child. And I felt as if he was trying to separate us from some reason.� Demis sniffed as he nuzzled into her neck for comfort.

Kiba stiffened slightly before relaxing again. She had that feeling as well, but did not want to voice that concern. Instead, she just summoned their belongings, shrinking them as they came into the room. Before standing up again with Demis still attached to her hip. �I think it�s time for us to leave.� She remarked as she placed their trunks into her pocket. Then summoning their coats as they exited the room.

As Remus Lupin was headed toward his chambers, he noticed Kiba and the boy, moving quickly down the hall. And to his annoyance, the boy was still being carried. That was just one of the reasons Remus wondered about the boys past. He truly felt that the child had been abused, for to him that was the only reason for the boy to be so clingy.

�Move aside wolf.� Kiba stated as her and Demis came closer to Remus.

Remus sighed, he couldn�t figure out why she held such distain towards him. Even after all these years, hell he was her teacher for several of them. �Look I�m sorry alright. I just feel the boy needs to be with his father, not an adopted sibling. Now matter how powerful you are Kiba.�

�Demis is my brother from birth. His education and protection is no concern of yours.� Kiba snarled coldly before pushing her way past Remus, with Demis and continuing quickly down the corridor without another word.

Remus watched the two go, feeling more confusion than before. As Kiba�s words of, Demis is my brother from birth. continued to run through his mind, even as the two disappeared from site. He wasn�t sure what those words meant, but was going to find out one way or another.

Shaking himself from his thoughts, Remus continued in his quarters to send off the letter to Sirius, hoping that he could find the answers to the questions about the boy.

Three Weeks Later

Sirius Black sat behind his desk staring at the unopened letter from Remus. He wasn�t sure whether to open it or not. Knowing that Remus promised to give him the time to think things through. At hearing a knock on his office door, Sirius quickly placed the letter inside his desk drawer before yelling at the person to enter.

�Hey Padfoot, is everything alright? You haven�t been around since you went to see Moony.� James Potter stated as he walked inside and seated himself across from his friend.

�I�m not sure Prongs. When I went to see Remus, well he told me something. And I just can�t seem to get it off my mind.� Sirius stated with a sigh as he ran his fingers through his hair with frustration.

James�s eyes went wide for moment as he watched his friend. �Do you want to talk about it?�

�He told me something that kinda shocked me is all.� Sirius remarked as he looked at his friend. �James, he told me that I was his mate. And well you know�.�

�He what? How could he spring something like that on you when he knows that it would never happen?� James gasped in shock, watching as Sirius�s eyes darken slightly.

�He told me that he would give me time to think about it Prongs. I don�t know what to do, he�s our friend James. But what he�s asking I�m not sure I can give him.� Sirius growled. �On top of that he sent me a letter the next day. One that I haven�t even opened. I really don�t want to know what he has to say, until I make my choice.�

�There is no choice Padfoot, you�re going to tell him no. You can�t ruin your life and career by becoming his mate. As for the letter give it to me and I�ll read it and if it has anything to do with being his mate, then I�ll tell you. It may not even be pertaining to that you know.� James stated harshly as he was trying to come to grips with what he had just heard.

Sirius could see the wheels turning in James�s face. And knew that if he gave into to Remus and became his mate. That his friendship with James would be over. Shaking his head, he reached into the drawer and pulled the letter out. Before handing it over to James without a word. He just hoped that Remus was asking him about something else and not about becoming the mate to his wolf side.

James gave him a lop-sided grin before opening the letter, reading it in silence.

Padfoot,
I know that I agreed to wait until you gave me your answer. But this has nothing to do with that. I wanted you to find out if any male child has been adopted around the ages of 11 to 13.

Something about Demis just doesn�t feel right to me. I think the boy was abused before his adoption and I want to know if his original parents are still among the living. The reason I think the boy was abused is that he clings to his sister like a lifeline. And Alexandros has just confirmed today that Demis will be going with his sister to Japan to study, instead of staying at Tashio with his father.

Also, when they left today his sister stated and I quote. �Demis is my brother from birth. His education and protection is no concern of yours.�
End quote. Something is going on between the two and with the familiarity I feel when the boy is close, I just want to know who he was before he was adopted.

Please Padfoot; regardless of your decision will you please try to find some answers for me.

Moony

�Well damn Padfoot; I wonder why Moony would think the boy was abused. It doesn�t seem like him to want to pry into other peoples business.� James whistled as he handed the letter over to Sirius.

Sirius read the letter quickly; his facial expressions went from confusion to understanding. He knew that he would find out who the boy was regardless of his choice. �Well it looks like I have more work to do Prongs. If Moony is this concerned then it may be important. Even though I�m not sure, it matters much. The boy has been blood adopted, so his records have probably changed as well.�

�Blood adopted you say.� James asked as his faced paled slightly.

�Yeah, and this right here about the sister saying that the boy was her brother from birth. That tells me that she was also adopted. So instead of looking for one child I�ll be looking for two.� Sirius stated with a grim look.

�Do you know what their last names are now? Because if you don�t then it may be harder to find what you�re looking for.� James stated, wondering who the boy was and hoping that it was not connected to his ex-son. But for some reason he felt that it might be just that. Only because of Moony feeling, that he had a familiarity toward the boy.

�It won�t be that hard to find records of male adoption for the age group he�s asking about Prongs. It will probably take me a day or two if that.� Sirius responded not paying attention to the look that crossed his friends face. For if he had he would have noticed the cold closed off face of James Potter.

�Well I�ll leave you to it Padfoot. Try and come to dinner this week ok.� James stated quickly before walking out of the room, not waiting for his friends answer. He needed to get home, check the family tapestry, and see if Harry had been adopted recently.

Japan

Demis had been in Japan and Tashio Mansion for weeks. And it was finally the day he would meet his tutors. Kiba had told him that he needed to learn several languages before they could travel more. And that as well as learning some Japanese magic. She told him that he needed a rounded education and now that he was starting to get stronger, it was time to begin. He knew that his sister would be in and out for the next several weeks; because of a new Life Contract, she had been given.

�Hello little one,� came Toshi�s voice from behind him causing him to jump from the chair.

�Don�t do that Toshi-sama.� Huffed Demis as he turned around quickly.

Toshi winced slightly as the horrific his little one added to his name. �I�m sorry little one, but I was in the area and wanted to see how you were doing.�

Demis smiled showing off his fangs. He always liked Toshi, from the moment he met him. �It�s ok. I�m just waiting for my tutor to arrive. Kiba said they would be here sometime this morning.�

Toshi grinned as he brought Demis into a strong hug. Before releasing him slowly, only to place a small kiss on his forehead. �Well I�m glad you�re doing well. I believe that your adoption as Alex�s son has been good for you.�

�Yeah, it�s nice to have my sister back for real. I was so upset when I learned that she had died. Only to find out years later that she was still alive, just under a different name and face. After all that kuso Potter Sr. pulled with poisoning me. It�s nice to know that I have a family that actually cares.� Demis remarked with a slight blush.
Toshi�s heart soared as he watched the blush cross the little one�s face. The pull he felt toward the boy had grown stronger since his adoption. He knew that soon he would have to petition Alexandros for the right to court his male heir. Because when the boy hit fourteen, Toshi was concern that his beast would go crazy if Demis was promised to another.

�Toshi are you alright?� Demis asked in concern as he seen the Demon�s eyes glaze over as red streaked into his gold eyes.

Toshi blinked. �I am fine little one. I was just lost in thought is all.� He stated with a smile, as he heard his beast banging against its cage in demand of wanting to touch its mate again.

�Good, humm� are you going to be here long?� Demis asked as he went to wrap his arms around the Inu again.

Toshi�s beast growled in delight, as Demis hugged him. Wrapping his arms around the little one, as he felt the small shiver go through Demis. �Yes, I will be here daily as I begin training you in Egyptian language. And I thought maybe some hand to hand combat as well.�

�Brilliant!� Demis exclaimed as he nuzzled into Toshi�s side. Loving the feel as the Inu�s arms around him. As he shivered at the purr coming from Toshi�s chest, even though he knew it was a form of growl.

�Come little one; let�s go out to the gardens. I�m your first tutor of the day and after lunch there will be another.� Toshi stated as he moved them toward the door, keeping Demis tucked into his side. Not noticing the shadows in the corner of the room forming into a solid shape.

Kiba narrowed her eyes at Toshi as he and her brother vacated the room. �What are you up too Toshi-kun.� She whispered before fading back into the shadows again, with one destination in mind, the office of one Sesshomaru Tashio.
