Once again, thank you for all the great reviews!
I apologize in advance for the short chapter but I've had a busy week and I wanted to give you all a quick update (since I usually keep you waiting) =)
Next chapter will be longer!
Hugo had been thinking about the newest development in his life.
He and Scorpius got along great and Rose seemed to tolerate him. At least they didn't fight ALL the time!
"What am I going to tell dad?" Hugo had asked Harry, as they returned from Hogsmeade. The thought that had been on his mind most of the day, "Won't he get angry if I tell him where I've been?"
Harry had just laughed it off and told him not to worry, that his dad would understand. When Hugo got home, he understood why.
His father was on the couch in the front room with a lady Hugo had never seen before. Harry had entered the house behind him and cleared his throat rather noisily, prompting Ron to pull away from the beautiful witch he had been enthusiastically kissing.
"Oh..ah…Harry.Hugo", his face was red with embarrassment and the witch he was with smiled politely at them both before taking her leave. "Dad?" Hugo asked, the hesitance clear in his voice.
Why did both his parent feel the need to hide everything from him?
"Hugo…I…that is, me and Beatrice were just…ahh…Harry?" Ron had looked at the green-eyed Auror with desperation.
"Well…um…I think what your father is trying to say is…he's seeing someone", Harry's blatant explanation was met with a glare from Ron and a wide-eyed look from Hugo.
When had this happened?
"It's not like that…exactly", Ron had finally muttered, seeing his friend would not provide any more input in the matter. "We're just starting out, testing the waters. She's just a really good friend of mine", his voice had trailed off as Hugo looked at him with disbelief.
"A really good friend? Yeah…I can see that", Hugo's voice didn't hold any malice and both Ron and Harry sighed with relief.
Ron had felt he was loosing his family and he had completely refused to let Hugo meet Scorpius until Harry reminded him that he had arranged to go out with his fellow Auror, Beatrice.
He had finally relented to let Hugo go, provided Harry stay with him the entire time. Harry still held out hope that Ron's hostility would thaw with time.
It wasn't possible for him to prevent his children from seeing their mother or the Malfoys, forever!
Hugo looked at his dad, who had taken to rubbing the back of his neck with his hand as he contemplated what to say.
"I'm happy for you dad", he finally said, smiling a little when he saw his father's look of surprise. Ron hadn't expected him to be this accepting.
Hugo had headed to his room, a laugh escaping him as he thought of his dad dating again. Yes. He could accept it, especially after what his mum had done but Rose…that was a different story all together and Hugo was most certainly not going to be the one to break the news to her!
Narcissa had given up on her initial scheme of enlisting the help of Rose Weasley. She had seen her, that red-headed brother of hers and none other than her grandson, Scorpius, spending the day together down in Hogsmeade.
She couldn't believe the Mudblood's children were so forgiving! And her grandson.
She had taught Draco to only associate with those of pureblood and had passed on the same values to her grandson but now, her entire family were accepting this change. She hated Lucius for the humiliation he had caused her but her fear of him kept him safe.
Besides, she would need him alive if she wanted to marry him again…a simple love potion would do the trick. All she had to do was get rid of the Mudblood. Or find a way to sneak into the Manor and give Lucius the potion.
She smiled to herself as she continued her vigil outside Malfoy Manor. She wasn't visible from the house but the moment the gates opened and the Mudblood stepped out, she would go in.
No one would notice her and Lucius hadn't put the Manor's protection up since she was able to stand just outside the gates (dillusioned of course!) without being thrown back by the magical shields that surrounded the mansion.
Yes. All she had to do was wait.
Oooh...anyone enjoying the drama?
lol I felt I was being too horrible to Ron and he should have a small part in the story so this might be his 'happily ever after'(although because this is a Lucius/Hermione fic, I won't be covering his relationship in too much detail).
Please leave a review so I know what you thought =)
