Last Time:
Once the hall and door were found to have no wards, they opened the door a crack and Peter slipped in as a rat to check for any runes … they all paled as they heard a crash inside ...

Harry couldn’t sleep a wink. Tom told him to stay in bed and to rest as they got the snitch, but it has been a while. He was terrified that something went wrong, but Vesta refused to leave his side again to check. Thankfully someone did come. Myrtle floated through the floor and perched on the frame of his bed. He opened his mouth to speak, but she placed a finger to her lips warning him to be quiet.
For a second he was confused, but he remembered the two curses she was under. The curse binding her to the castle was a year round issue, but that other curse, the one that monitors everything said too he, begins and fades with the school year. The second school began Dumbledore was listening to her, through her, for 10 months out of the year. Thankfully he wasn’t strong enough to make it year around, but they still needed to be careful what was said. However, words come in many forms …
Without a wand Harry wrote in the air. The fiery words that appeared said this, ‘I’m worried about Tom and the others. They went after the snitch to see if it’s a horcrux.’
Myrtle smiled and nodded. She gestured to Vesta to go and help …
Of course, Vesta stubbornly refused and used her illusions to make some words of her own, ‘I won’t leave him alone after today’s attack.’
Myrtle smirked and pointed to each floating letter in their messages to spell out her own, ‘I dare anyone to try.’
Harry saw Vesta’s ears perk up at something in the dark hall outside the infirmary. Something that convinced her that he was safe and freeing her up to leave his side. As the nature sprite he tried to lean closer to identify the silhouette. He could see the massive serpentine shadow move and he knew instantly that it was Debora. Tom mentioned leaving the Chamber of Secrets open so the basilisk could move freely, but he didn’t expect to see Debora just slithering around the halls. Though, it didn’t matter to him right now. Harry just wanted to know that those he cares for is safe.
The ghost silently gestured for him to lay back and rest. Harry wanted to do something to help or, at least, stay up until Vesta returned, but he knew he wouldn’t be of much help with his wounds. The best thing he can do now is rest and recover.

Everyone froze as they heard muffled voices coming from the supply closet after the crash. It sounded like someone was coming out at a fast pace. The angry voices and footsteps charged the door faster than anyone could hide.
“-Fuck you! I know-” The door was thrown open to reveal a chaser on the Gryffindor Quidditch team angrily walking out of the room as he buttoned his shirt. “-you have a thing for Potter!” He snapped at the person still in the room who was scrambling to get dressed.
Severus waited for the student to spot him and pale in terror, but to his shock that didn’t happen. In fact, the chaser ran straight into him. What was more shocking was that the student just looked baffled instead of horrified. Tom pulled the potion master and Lucius back and pointed. There in the shadows was a little thing bounding towards them that looked like Vesta.
“Dammit! No I don’t!” The person in the supply room yelled. The chaser, reminded of his earlier anger, huffed and continued walking quickly away. “Hey! Wait up!” The person yelled and ran out after the other boy while try to put on his last clothes revealing that he was Oliver Wood.
Quirinus smirked as the students got farther away, “Late night trysts in a supply closet … I like the idea.” He ignored the blushing wizards and smiled down at Vesta. “You’re timing is perfect.” The little fox yipped and hopped onto his shoulder.
“It seems the runes Dumbledore probably used are not as widespread as we thought.” Tom mused pointing out that if there were runes around the horcrux they would’ve been tripped by the horny students and Dumbledore would’ve been there.
“Indeed.” Severus said as they went into the supply room carefully, still looking out for any runes even though it seemed unlikely.
“Wait … where’s Peter?” Quirinus whispered just as Tom lit up the room with a light spell.
A box on the floor wiggled and tipped over as Peter shifted back into a human, “Ow, ow, ow.” Peter rubbed his head where the box landed on him, but smiled. “I did not see that coming.”
“Considering the argument we witnessed we weren’t the only ones not seeing some cumming.” Quirrell snickered.
Lucius blushed, “Perverted romps aside I don’t see anything indicating any alerting charms or runes even on the storage chest.” He mused as he knelt down to inspect the chest that held the Quidditch balls including their target.
“On the outside, perhaps, but be careful opening it.” Tom said as Severus placed the little hourglass shaped device he made against the chest before it was even opened. The Whomping Willow contents inside reacted slightly. Not enough to say the chest itself was the horcrux, but just enough to prove that there was one inside. ”Peter, Quirinus, go outside and stand guard. Depending on the runes this may take a while.”
“Right.” Peter said and they both shifted into their animagi forms before leaving the room.
“Ok … let’s go slowly.” Lucius said before taking a very slow deep breath to steady himself.
There was no room for even the tiniest mistake. If one thing went wrong they will unintentionally alert Dumbledore and that could be the end of their fight against the wizard. The air was tense as Tom and Severus watched anxiously as Lucius scanned the hinges and lock to make sure there were no spells that would trigger once it was opened. Relief flooded them when the scans came out negative.
“Where are the keys?” Lucius asked.
Tom twitched in annoyance as he pointed to a hook on the wall holding the very keys needed to open the chest, “Right there.” For a moment Lucius and Severus were confused as to why Tom was annoyed, but then they realized why and became a little annoyed too.
What annoyed them?
Why they just realized that because of the reversing of their physical age the keys were out of their reach. This was the first time it sank in. Really it didn’t matter since they could summon into their hands, but it was the height that counted. Thankfully, Vesta snapped them out of their almost sulking daze by leaping up and grabbing the keys.
Severus blushed, just as embarrassed at letting himself get distracted by such a tiny issue as Tom and Lucius, “Thank you, Vesta. You’re right, we can’t delay.”
Lucius took the keys and opened the chest carefully making sure to be very slow so nothing was accidently triggered, “Ok … now for the tricky part.” He said as he slowly scanned the inside. “The bludgers and quaffle don’t have runes. Not what we were looking for, but I had to check. Now the snitch ...” Lucius said before focusing on the very reason they suspected there was a horcrux here of all places. With a careful scan he frowned, “There’s an alarm rune on the door.”
Tom and Severus watched as Lucius tried to carefully remove some runes from the little door that housed the snitch. That turned out to be a rather difficult task. It seemed several complex runes were wrapped together creating an alarm system that will go off outside of scheduled Quidditch matches. Such a system will need to be replaced to avoid suspicion so Lucius memorized the order of the runes as he removed them.
“I finished.” Lucius said as he opened the door revealing the little golden ball. However, before anyone could pull the ball out of its tight confines Lucius made a point of checking the surface of the ball. “Damn … there’s a tracking rune and a rune responding to touch on the ball itself. If the snitch is the horcrux instead of there being something inside then we’ll need to think this through. I’ll need to work on these runes, but if this is the horcrux we need to decide if we’re going to take it or not.”
Tom raised an eyebrow, “Of course we’re going to take it- … oh. I see your point.” Tom sighed. They couldn’t just take a snitch. It’s used in every Quidditch game so its absence will be noticed rather quickly and they couldn’t risk their little hunt being exposed before they have everything. “There’s an extra snitch at the Manor. I’ll get Peter to get it. Will you be able to transfer the tracker to it, but keep it attached to Dumbledore?”
Lucius smirked, “Of course. Just need a snitch and time. Dumbledore won’t notice a thing.“
“Good.” Tom smirked before going outside to get Peter.

Narcissa sighed, “I got a letter from one of the Board of Education members.”
Bellatrix looked intrigued, “What about? They already approved of you going to Hogwarts daily for Harry’s safety because of Dumbles’ screw up.”
“Yeah, but that’s only for a few months. John, the paranoid one Lucius talked about, mentioned that if there was any more trouble that the Board would approve daily visits all the way up to when Harry turns 17.” Narcissa said as she mulled over the idea.
A smirk came to Bellatrix’s lips, “Oh really? So what trouble can we cook up?”
“We have Peter, Quirinus, Severus and a large basilisk to mix up some trouble. As long as all the children remain safe we can make it look pretty bad and mess with Dumbles’ plans for years.” Narcissa said playfully. Her and her sister schemed until Peter flooed into the Manor.
“Hello ladies.” Peter said happily before giving Narcissa a kiss. “We found the horcrux, but we can’t tell if it’s the actual snitch or an object inside it. If it is the snitch we need a replacement to move the runes to so we can take it. Does Draco still have that snitch?”
Narcissa nodded, “Upstairs in his room. You better tell him what you did with it though.”
“Of course. Severus said he’s going to explain in the morning. I think Draco will find it more hilarious that his toy snitch is being used to mess with Dumbles than anything else.” Peter chuckled.
Bellatrix grinned deviously, “Of course he will. We raised him right. And you are all going to love what Narcissa and I have planned.”
“Oh?” Peter asked and his grin grew as the witches explained. “Tom is going to love that plan.”

Myrtle looked up when she heard someone coming. First was Vesta trotting back. She quickly climbed up and curled up next to a sleeping Harry. Second was Tom who smirked at her telling her the task was successful, but that wasn’t all. He gestured for Debora to come closer and began writing in the air. The basilisk and ghost looked very pleased with the idea Tom was mapping out for them.
Debora nodded and went through the halls. She knew what she had to do. With fast swift movements she slithered into the forest and began hunting in the early morning light. In only a few moments she came upon a group of three trolls and began chasing them towards the castle just in time for breakfast. She disappeared into the pipes after making sure no kids were in the way …

Draco looked at his godfather a smirk, “Best way to use a snitch ... if it wasn’t evil dark magic, that is … so the … its gone, right?”
“Indeed. Your father transferred the runes to your snitch and put all the other runes back.” Severus whispered softly. He eyed Draco, “Make sure you and your friends are early for breakfast and do not to wander off.”
Draco raised an eyebrow curiously, but nodded nonetheless, “I will.” He agreed wandering what was going to happen that he shouldn’t know about.
Severus smirked making it clear that there was a good reason before leaving for the Great Hall, “Lady Malfoy, I see you are joining us for breakfast today.” He said formally as if they weren’t friends.
“Yes. I wanted to make sure my sons are safe especially Harry. I need to make sure he’s eating right since I doubt his relatives were doing so. I will hear no objections on the matter. I have every right to be here.” Narcissa said firmly.
Dumbledore smiled that infuriating twinkling smile, “It’s true, Severus. After that unfortunate mix up with the notification process and that horrid curse on Mr. Potter’s broom Lady Malfoy was given permission by the Board. For the next few months she has the right to stop by and check on Harry. Please have a seat, Lady Malfoy.”
After taking a seat Narcissa watched all the students enter the Great Hall. She made a point of only getting up to speak to Draco and Harry to make sure they were fine. Harry was still in pain, but doing much better today. She calmly returned to her seat. She never said anything else and just casually ate while, like any concerned mother and guardian, glancing at Harry and Draco to see what they were eating.
It was like any other meal until …
*Bang*
The loud bang was repeated again and again. Soon growls and grunts could be heard as the bangs came closer and louder. All the kids were startled, Draco included, and slowly became quiet as the adults all stood up. Severus was the first to act and spelled the large Great Hall doors shut just as the large shadow of a troll was seen. He did take comfort in the fact that Vesta was in the room as backup to protect the kids.
Dumbledore raised his hands to calm the now panicking kids, “Everyone stay calm! The staff and I will handle this.” The large doors rattled as something like a club slammed against it. Two more different sets of grunts joined the one making three possible trolls and each were in a frenzy as if they were startled by something. “Hagrid, Professor Quirrell, you both stay here and keep the students safe. The rest of us will go out the side entrance to remove the trolls.” Dumbledore caught a glimpse of the look on Narcissa’s face and knew that this would be reported no matter how it was handled.
Sure enough he was correct. Mere hours after the incident, which was taken care of rather smoothly, Dumbledore got an owl from the Board of Education. The letter stated that due to the complete lack of safety there was going to be an auror doing random visits from now on. That he could handle for all he had to do was offer the auror a cup of tea laced with a loyalty potion and that problem was gone.
The real problem would be Narcissa who was smart enough not to eat anything from him and, unfortunately, the Board of Education granted her even more visitation rights. She is allowed to drop in at any time of the day and however many times she wants until Harry and Draco turn 17! It wasn’t a complete loss for he still had a chance to get Harry to fight for him in his seventh year, but that won’t be possible for years. Years of being watched over and taught by Narcissa Black. Harry won’t be an easy target to get under his thumb by then, but he did love a challenge. Also he did have others grooming the boy like Hermione, Ron and now someone else.
The door to his office opened and a young first year came in, “You wished to see me, sir?”
Dumbledore smiled kindly at the young boy, “Yes! I wanted you to know that I made some arrangements and you won’t have to worry about the breaks or summers.”
The boy looked confused, “What do you mean, headmaster?”
“Losing your parents must’ve been heartbreaking. I can’t imagine what you must be going through. To make things easier I found you a home that will be yours so you have somewhere safe to spend your summers and provide a small trust for you so you can buy what you’d need for school until you have access to whatever your parents left you.”
Tears came to the boy’s eyes, “Thank you, Headmaster! Thank you so much!”
“It’s quite alright. I’m happy to help.” Dumbledore said as he hugged the boy. “I just ask for one thing in return.”
“What’s that, Headmaster?” The eager student asked.
Dumbledore looked at him with kind eyes, “Make friends and learn. That’s all I ask for in return. Stay close to good people like Harry Potter and talk to me about anything, everything.” Dumbledore said softly to his newest pawn.
“I will, Headmaster! Thank you!” The young student left when he was finally dismissed. The second he left the office he wiped the tears away and smirked. The poor student, Sam, was going to be diligent in reporting to Dumbledore, but won’t be the simple pawn Dumbledore thinks he is ...
