Right, I have been away for a while getting my head sorted and working on non-fanfiction stuff. I have just started to get the balance right to enable me to carry on with both my stories here so updates will still be slow for a while. This chapter I wrote months ago but never posted apparently so it is a bit of a freebie. I will get started on a new chapter now and hopefully should have it out before the end of the month.
A/N hello again! I would like to thank all of you for you brilliant reviews. I always take criticism in the way it was intended and the review about my characterization of Voldemort was definitely meant to be constructive. I am just a bit of a drama queen and I was quite worried that I had played it wrong for my readers. It would seem that I haven't so… Yay! On with the story, I say!
Fenir walked quickly across the village to his hut. In a way it was a good thing that Harry had passed out. Not only did he need the sleep but it would give him a chance to see his family. It felt like weeks since the pups had been born but really they were only a few days old. Werewolf pups grew quickly, learning to walk within a couple of months. They would be growing fast now, getting bigger and stronger, and he had barely seen them.
He reached the hut and lightly tapped on the door frame before pushing aside the curtain, he didn't to wake Harry by announcing himself. He glanced round the door anxiously before slowly moving into the hut. Harry was still asleep. He was curled up in a ball, his head resting on Melim's lap as she she lightly ran her fingers through his hair, humming quietly. The twins were in their basket between Harry's legs and chest, cuddled up to each other, calmly sleeping.
"Remembered us I see?" Melim said quietly without looking up.
"Maya told me it was safe to come and see him as long as he doesn't wake up. How are they?" Fenir moved into the hut and sat down quietly on the floor in front of Melim.
"He is scared a lot. I'm not sure how much he remembers. I asked him about some things but he didn't answer me. He seems very good with the pups though." Melim looked up at Fenir and smiled. "The bond is very strong which is a good sign. I think they will be okay." Melim looked down again and resumed her petting. "He is a good mother."
Fenir smiled and swelled with pride. To wolves motherhood was a sacred duty, one which subs held above all others. Melim could not have given higher praise.
"Thank you for everything, Melim, I don't know what would've happened if you hadn't stepped in. The others…" Fenir glanced towards the door and thought of the venom Namile had spit. They were probably discussing it now, choosing sides, against him and his mate. The anger started to build again but he pushed it down not wanting negative emotions to spoil the moment. He took a deep breath "Thank you," he gave her a small smile, one that didn't reach his eyes, before his lips fell again. "Did Maya tell you about what we learned?" Melim shrugged slightly.
"He mentioned it. He was hurt before he could tell me. It doesn't matter."
"What do you mean it doesn't matter?"
Melim gave him a look as his volume began to rise. "If you wake him you will have to leave," she warned and Fenir instantly quietened. "He needs me. No matter what has or hasn't happened in his life, he needs me and I will not turn him away. He is still only a pup himself. I will not turn my back on him." Fenir nodded though not really understanding. Melim clearly had her reasons for staying with Harry and from the look of things it was doing her just as much good as it was him. No matter how long he lived he didn't think he would ever understand subs. Fenir edged closer slightly.
"May I?" he gestured towards the basket.
"As long as you don't disturb them. It will wake Harry."
Fenir nodded and peered into the basket. The two children were wrapped around each other, the blonde child happily sucking the others thumb. "They are beautiful."
Melim smiled, "Yes they are. The blonde one is Aurel…"
"And the dark one is Nox? Maya told me Harry had given them names. I wish I could hold them." Fenir looked up at the dark hair of his mate. "I wish I could hold him."
"All in good time, Alpha. You will need patience."
Fenir nodded lightly. He reached forwards lightly and ran his fingers through Harry's soft hair. Unconsciously Harry pressed his head into the touch, whimpering lay slightly in his sleep as the hand as taken away. Fenir looked on slightly stunned.
"It is a good sign. He is battling three different instincts at the moment and two of them are telling him to fear you, the other seems in control at the moment." Fenir looked at Melim, confusion meeting the stunned looked as he decided to enjoy the feeling of his mates cheek whilst he could. "His instincts are telling him that you are here to hurt him and take his children. Hopefully once he and the pups are more comfortable with each other that might be replaced by his instinct to accept you as his mate. The same one which binds you to him also binds him to you. It is difficult to ignore."
"Can he ignore it?" Fenir asked trepidation lacing his words.
"If he tries hard enough he can. At the moment he has shut down. He's is not thinking things through. He's relying on instinct to guild him."
"Isn't that a good thing?"
"Not if his only instinct is fear. Whether he accepts you will depend on whether his mind can forgive you when it wakes up. Whatever happens you will have a difficult time making him trust you."
Fenir solemnly stoked Harry's soft cheek and thought about Melim's words. There was no accusation in her voice, no blame, just the truth. He looked over at Melim. He had no choice but to trust her but at least she had given him some hope all he needed now was the opportunity to make amends.
"You know that is probably the longest thing I have heard you say in a long time."
Melim returned his smile. "Well sometimes even Alpha's need their lessons." Harry gave a small moan which made Fenir draw back. "You should go, he may wake soon."
Fenir took one last looked into the basket nodding in agreement, before running his finger down Aurel's fuzzy cheek. He stood up quietly. "I just need to pick up a few things. I don't know where I will sleep yet but I will stay close by in case you need me." He moved around the hut quickly, picking up odds and ends he would need. Spare clothes, a bar of soap, he looked longingly at his rock collection before moving away. He would leave that for Harry, perhaps he would like them. He took one last look at his small family curled up on Melim's lap. He leant down quickly and deposited a quick kiss on his mate's forehead before repeating the act for his two children. "Sleep tight, my loves" he whispered before picking up his possessions again and leaving the hut without another word.

The sun was rising lazily in the sky when Maya stumbled sleepily out of his hut. The pack had gone their separate ways as soon as dinner had finished cooking, earlier than they normally did even in the winter months. Mostly they had been silent after Fenir and French had left, each processing the information they had been given. From what he had overheard Fenir had only given them a shortened version of everything that had happened which was possibly a good thing considering how much the still didn't know and how much Namile had rejected any notion the Harry could be innocent. The two of them had never gotten along. Maya didn't like Namile's controlling and domineering attitude towards the rest if the subs and Namile was equally against Maya's disrespectful way of treating the doms. Maya thought that everyone should be treated equally, they were all her patients, all in equal need of her care and, normally, her scolding.
Namile, on the other hand, acted like the perfect submissive until eventually she had begun controlling subs and doms alike without them even noticing. They all played their games, playing off their submissive sides to get what they wanted but Namile took it to a whole new level. She seemed to thrive off power over others, and enforced it ruthlessly with the subs, and, unfortunately, as the Alpha had no mate and Namile had the eldest child, Luc was the first one born after the war ended, she had taken up the position of head sub with ease. Of course now Fenir had mated technically that dubious honour now belonged to Harry, not that he would be ready, willing or able to take it on for some time. Which meant that they were stuck with Namile and all the problems that that entailed.
Maya walked over to Harry's hut, after making a quick stop at Melim's tent, and quietly peered around the door. The interior was dark, a slight glow still coming from the dying fire. Harry was curled up in furs on the floor, the children's basket close to him, Melim was already awake, warming herself against the embers.
"Can I come in?" his voice no more than a whisper.
Melim turned to him. "Not for long. I don't believe the children will remain asleep for much longer." Maya nodded and hurried into the room silently before crouching down beside his friend. "Your arm looks better."
Maya rubbed his bandaged arm a little. "Yes, it is healing quickly. How are things?"
"Harry hasn't woken since he… since you were here last."
Maya smiled slightly. "I didn't mean Harry. How are you?"
Melim was taken aback. "Oh, well I'm… I'm ok, I guess. I like to help and Harry is nice." Melim gave a small smile and turned to look at the embers. Maya smiled in return.
"I'm glad. You look good, happy." Silence fell for a moment. "Are you sure you don't want to know his past?"
Melim look down and started to poke the fire with a large birch stick. "I have said it before and I will say it again. It doesn't matter I will help him no matter what."
"I know but it might help you with him, if you know what to expect and now the rest of the pack knows…" Melim shook her head.
"I don't really care about those lot at the moment, Harry will tell me eventually, when he is ready." Maya opened his mouth to argue but was silenced by Melim's raised hand. "He needs to come into this himself and I will be there for him when he does. In the mean time I will help him with being a mother and a wolf and hopefully the rest will come by itself."
Maya smiled and got up slowly. "I will get someone to bring you fresh supplies later. It might be a good idea to open this place up a bit and get some fresh air in here." With that Maya slipped out of the hut silently, no other words needed.
He walked back to his hut and quickly checked on his mate and son. Blue was awake, barely, cradling a very much asleep Pelim. It had been a very late night for the young pup, that and the worry of having his mother absent again for the entire day yesterday. Maya was no fool, he knew his fears, that one day it would happen again. He would leave for a moment and his child would not live to see his return. He knew that those fears flowed easily down the bond, just as Harry's were flowing to the twins. It was one of the difficulties of sharing such a close bond. He feared loosing Pelim and Pelim feared loosing him. Recent events hadn't helped much, especially his disappearing act after the twin's birth.
Fenir was right when he said that the pack was broken, they were all ruled by their fears, even he, who tried to be rational and caring was guilty of it and now the next generation were paying for it. He could almost understand Namile's need to punish Harry, to lay blame for everything, the war, the persecutions, the deaths, everything on his small shoulders. He gave her something to attack, a face for her pain. When her pups had died Melim had withdrawn from life in grief, perhaps the rest of them had withdrawn in their own way. He still couldn't stand Namile but he understood her a bit. Well, almost. Not that that meant he had to like her. Maya gave a small burst of laughter, covering his mouth quickly lest anyone think he had finally flipped.
After a quick trip to the water butt for a wash and to fill a pot he walked back towards the centre of the village to start the morning. He had, however, been beaten to the punch. The fire, smaller than the evening one, had been started, a pot of water simmering over it. A wolf sat close to the fire, warming his hands round his bark coffee.
"Well what have we here? Shouldn't you still be in bed?" Evan turned around quickly and placed his finger to his lips, effectively shushing him. Maya quickly moved around the log Evan was sitting on to see what was going on. "How long has he been there?" Maya said under his breath. Fenir lay curled up with his back against the log sound asleep.
"All night I reckon." Evan took another sip of his drink before patting the space on the other side of him. Maya sat down and poured himself a cup.
"He must be freezing. Why didn't he go inside? Anyone would've taken him in."
Evan smiled into his cup. "That's us stubborn doms for you, healer, never take the easy route."
"You know, I can hear you." Fenir sat up slowly, stretching out his arms, cracking his back and neck.
Maya mumbled under his breath something about idiots doms which Fenir poignantly ignored.
"How is everyone?" Fenir asked as Evan handed him a cup.
"Harry's fine. I checked on him this morning. Still asleep though. Looks like everyone else is as well."
"That's good," Fenir said, before settling his back against the log Evan was sitting on and stared into the fire, nursing his warm drink with his hands. Moments passed in silence, the two doms content to be alone with their thoughts whilst Maya went slowly mad.
"So you don't feel like telling us why you were camped out in the elements this morning?" Maya asked, his foot tapping impatiently against the dirt floor.
"I tried to use the other hut but…" Fenir went silent and stared back down at the floor. Maya could imagine what he had found in that hut. Cleaning it had been a low priority, especially with the chaos of the last few days. It had been a squalid mess when he had last seen it but with days of festering, even in the cold weather, it would be putrid. Maya shuddered slightly. "I'll get it cleaned up as soon as I have woken up a bit."
"I'll help," Maya said quickly. "It shouldn't take too long." Fenir shook his head.
"I think there is a certain pup who would very much like to have his mother for the day." Maya opened his mouth to protest but Fenir raised his hand to quiet him. "I mean it Maya, you have been a good friend but you have been spending a lot of time helping us. You have a family of your own and friends. You need a break and I am perfectly capable to sorting it out, just not in the middle of the night." Maya looked dubious
"You're sure?"
"I'm certain and plus I have Evan here to help." Fenir swung his arm around Evan and smiled as he choked on the gulp he was taking. They laughed.

The sun was barely up when the twins roused Harry from his sleep, ready for their breakfast. Melim was already awake, tending to a pot of hot coffee by the fire. She had opened the two windows in the roof, letting in the crisp morning air along with the lazy light but it did little to alleviate the gloom of the interior of the hut, though it did improve the smell somewhat. They sat in silence whilst Harry cleaned and fed Nox, Aurel waiting as patiently as possible, waving his arms around and gurgling, complaining lightly through the bond about a wet bottom and an empty stomach. Once Nox had finished his feed he let go with a pop and a cry. Harry looked down at his happy baby and then across to the sodden basket. He couldn't handle the two of them at the same time but he didn't want to put Nox back into the wet cloths. He looked over at Melim. She was sitting by the fire cross legged, watching him calmly.
"Would you like me to take him?" Melim asked, a delicate smile on her face. Harry nodded cautiously before slowly passing the precious child over. Melim cradled Nox and started playing with her finger in front of his eyes. He let out a happy gurgle and tried to catch it. Melim looked up to Harry as Nox caught his prize and began to slobber on it. "He's getting bigger." Harry let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding. He picked up the increasingly fussy Aurel and cleaned him off quickly before settling him for his feed. "I think we may need to find something better than that basket for them to sleep in." Melim said, wrinkling her nose up at the sodden furs inside.
"Aurel doesn't like the basket." Harry said, rubbing his finger lightly down the fair twin's face. Melim looked a little shocked, Harry had spoken so little that she had gotten used to hearing nothing but her own voice, but she quickly recovered.
"What does he like?" Melim withdrew her finger from Nox as he lost interest and began to pull at the cloths surrounding him to chew on.
Harry smiled in contentment, lighting up his eyes and relaxing his face."He wants to stay with me."
Melim smiled back at him and they fell into an pleasant silence whilst the twins busied themselves with their important tasks. The silence was ended abruptly by a large belch as Aurel finished his breakfast.
*~~*
They had sat in silence whilst the twins napped after breakfast, curled up on furs on the floor to avoid the hated basket. Harry had curled up with them for a little while trying to nap with them but gave up quickly, instead deciding to pass the time watching and listening to the slow breathing of the sleeping children. Melim was bored, as delightful as sleeping children were they could only hold the attention for so long and wolves were not good at doing nothing. She wanted to get outside, into the fresh air, they needed fresh supplies and the hut, despite her attempts, smelled like a sweaty wizard with a bladder problem and some kind of fungus. But she had to stay with Harry.
"Knock knock!" came a sing songy voice from the doorway accompanied by a light wrapping on the door frame. Harry was instantly alert, placing his body over the sleeping twins, crouching low to the ground. The fabric door moved slightly and a small face surrounded by curly auburn hair looked around the hide curiously, scrunching up her little nose as she tested the air. Harry sat back on the balls of his feet as the little face darted back out again. "Is it safe to come in? I come baring gifts and little Wren would love to meet her new cousins again." Melim looked over at Harry. He looked confused more than worried. She decided to take a chance.
"Come in, Lemmy."
Lemmy pushed back the curtain and pushed little Wren into the hut. She was struggling to carry a small pouch whilst her mother carried in a fresh pail of water and a bag. She tried to turn around and hide her face in her mother's legs.
"Come on silly it is just Melim and the twins. You remember the twins, don't you? And this is their mummy, Harry." Wren shyly poked her face out and smiled. Lemmy started walking slowly as Wren stood on his feet. "Sorry, she can be such a shy little one sometimes." Lemmy said, looking to Harry. He had moved his body over the twins again but wasn't crouched to attack. Melim got up and took the bucket from Lemmy. "Thank you Melim, you don't realise how heavy that is. Well shall we all get comfy?" Lemmy said, pushing Wren into the room and sitting cross-legged by the fire. Melim sat back down, placing herself between Lemmy and Harry, creating a small barrier between them. Lemmy began sorting through the various packages she had bought in. "Let me see here, there's some meat," he handed a bag over to Melim "and I thought we could do with a little treat so I snuck out some stewed berries!" Lemmy pulled an earthen-ware jar from the bag and smiled sneakily. Wren perked up, forgetting her shyness, and climbed on to her mother's lap to grab at the jar. "Yes I know, stewed berries are yummy but you can't have them until later." Lemmy took the jar out of Wren's reach and passed it across to Melim. "Sorry about that, Harry. She doesn't speak human yet, her wolf is coming a long though." Wren sat back onto Lemmy's lap whilst he continued to rifle through the bag.
Harry sat back on to his knees, staying close to the twins. The strange man was still sorting through his bag whilst the little girl watched him, sucking her thumb. They didn't seem dangerous at the moment but he stayed close just in case they attacked. The man continued to talk to himself pulling various bits and pieces out of the bag, including what looked to be fresh cloths, which the twins needed desperately.
"Oh and Maya's arm is healing well and French's new pipe is coming along really well. You'd like French, Harry, he's so good with the children, makes the winter feel a little shorter with a good player. Ah here it is!" The man pulled a bundle of string and fabric out of the bag. "A little weaving will help pass the time." Melim gave the man a smile and took the bundle eagerly, unwrapping it quickly and ordering it in some way. Harry was intrigued, moving round Melim slightly, staying close to the pups of course, to see what they were doing. "Would you like to try, Harry, I can teach you?" Harry retreated back to the pups and crouched low over them. "That's fine, I'll be here when you get bored."
The man picked up a couple of pointy sticks that the thread had been wrapped around and tied one end to one of them. Melim did the same thing before suddenly the sticks began clacking together noisily. The sudden noise almost made Harry fall backwards. Their hands were moving so fast and underneath the sticks new cloth was appearing. Harry was in awe, trying to keep up with the dancing fingers and clacking sticks whilst the man carried on talking, seemingly unaware of the speed his hands were flying at.
Suddenly he felt a tug at the fur around his waist. He looked down to see the pale face of the little girl staring up at him. He threw himself backwards. The clacking stopped.
"Wren?" The man questioned, looking over at them. The little girl sat down on her knees and gave him a smile before moving forwards to look down at the twins. She gave another small giggle and wiggled her finger at Aurel. Harry leapt forwards and gathered the children to his breast, waking them suddenly in the process causing the two of them to cry out. The basket was definitely easier to grab but he tried to tuck the fur around the two screaming babies anyway whilst backing away. "Wren get back here!" the man shouted, putting down his sticks and trying to get up.
Melim caught his arm and forced him back down. "No, Lemmy! You'll only make it worse, try and call her back." Harry's eyes darted between the three of them, trying to watch the all at the same time. The little girl seemed completely unfazed. She was standing where he had left her, not too far away from him.
"Wren, sweetie, come back here and I'll let you have some yummy berries." The man was on his hands and knees now, trying to get close to Wren to pull her back. Wren turned around and smiled at the man and laughed. "That's right it's all fun, now come back over to mummy." The man reached out a hand only to have the little girl turn around and totter closer to Harry. "Wren!"
Harry's back was against the wall, he had nowhere to go. The little girl came closer, a toothy smile still on her face. Harry's breathing became sharp, he closed his eyes and turned his face away, clutching desperately to the screaming twins. The attack didn't come, the screaming from his arms quietened. Harry slowly opened his eyes. The little girl was on her knees beside his arm, not touching him, looking down at the babies in his arms. She waved her little finger in front of Aurel and he grabbed it tight, laughing, sending waves of happiness down the link to Harry. Nox seemed slightly more dubious but was content to let his brother play with the strange red head. Harry looked up at Melim and the man. They were still in the same position, matching looks of shock on their faces. Harry's breathing began to slow as the calm from the twins soothed him.
"Wren, sweetie," the man's voice had lost its urgency but it still betrayed his unease. "why don't you come and sit down by the fire so Harry can bring the twins back over to the warm?" The little girl pouted slightly, took away her hand and walked back over to her mother. Aurel, however, was not ready to stop playing with his new toy and let his displeasure known with a scream, sending pulses of anger to Harry, throwing his arms and legs around, kicking his brother. He wanted to run after her, he wanted to play!
His face reddened again, his eyes screwed up. Harry started to panic, trying to rock Aurel, trying to calm him down but it didn't work and Aurel continued to send angry, frustrated feelings through to his brother and mother. Harry looked over to Melim by the fire. The little girl was on her mother's lap, they were all watching him, not attacking, just watching. He scooted back over slowly, watching their every move they made like a hawk. Aurel started to calm slightly as his mother obeyed him. Harry continued closer until he could feel the warmth of the fire on his face.
Aurel was still fussy, calling out for his friend to come back and play, but Harry was loath to go any closer. He stared at the three of them, willing the little girl to come back but she remained sulkily sitting with her mother wrapping his arms around her waist. They were waiting for something and Aurel wasn't going to quiet until he got what he wanted.
"Aurel wants to play." Harry said, hoping they would understand.
"Does he now? Would you like to go over and play with Aurel, Wren?" The man seemed calmer now but continued to hold on to the little girl. She looked up at him and gave him a bright toothy smile. Melim gave them a small nod, laying a comforting hand on the man's arm and let go.
The little girl sprang up and tottered over to Harry and waved her hands haphazardly in front on Aurel's face, stopping the fussing and replacing it with a loud laugh.
Lemmy took a deep breath, the comforting hand on his arm not alleviating the worry on his face. "So," Lemmy began, "if the blond is Aurel what is the other one's name?" The question was clearly directed at Harry and Melim remained quiet. Harry looked up from the playing children.
"Nox." Harry replied quickly.
"Well, aren't they lovely names?" Lemmy replied, going back to his weaving, Melim joining him, both keeping a watchful eye on the the children and Harry. Wren was doing well with Aurel, playing catch the finger or moving his arms in time with a song only she could hear. Aurel was ecstatic, laughing and smiling whilst Nox seemed content to watch his brother play, cuddling in closer to his mother who was watching nervously, obviously itching to move away.
"They grow so quickly when they're that small, don't they?" Lemmy said. Harry looked up and him and then back down at the children in front of him. "One moment they're all helpless in your arms and the next they are running around trying to get into everything. Keeps you on your toes I can tell you." Lemmy looked up at Harry who was looking at him, his head cocked to be side. "Those two look like the adventurous type as well." Lemmy smiled at him, trying to keep him distracted and not stressed. "They are going to be little terrors, I can see it coming. What do you think, Harry?"
Harry looked at the two adults by the fire trying to decide what to do. He trusted Melim, she had helped him with the twins and hadn't done anything bad yet. The other man, the little girl's mother, didn't seem dangerous and there was something about him that put him at ease. The way he had called the little girl back, the way he had clung to her, that made him want to trust the talkative man.
He watched them clack their sticks and smile at him. He wanted to smile too. He looked back down at Aurel who was still laughing, waving his legs around. Nox seemed almost sulky in comparison, snuggling into his breast and scowling as best he could at his brother. Harry choked down his fear, "Aurel wants to run. Nox wants to stay."
The man gave him a big smile which he returned with a little more reserve.
"Well, They will be up and running around before you know it." The man smiled again. "You know what, I don't think we have been properly introduced. My name is Lemmy and the little rascal over there is my daughter Wren." He looked down and the little girl looked back up at him and beamed a gappy grin whilst her finger was pulled by Aurel.
"Hello." Harry said to her. She squealed in return and started jumping.
Lemmy gave a small laugh at his daughter's antics. "She likes you"
Harry smiled shyly at the excitable girl just as Nox yawned and began to nuzzle into his mother, sending sleepiness down the link.
"Tired" Harry said, the wave of drowsiness causing him to yawn.
"I'm not surprised we did wake him up. Where is their basket and we can get him tucked in?" Harry scrunched up his nose in disgust at the thought of the sodden basket.
"It got a bit wet during the night." Melim said, her face also showing what she thought of the smelly basket.
Lemmy covered his mouth as he laughed slightly. "No wonder it smells it here! Well, I think we can fix that." He bought out the sack again and started to rummage around before drawing out some cloth like triangle. "These should help with him wetting and we'll make a nice little nest on the floor for him. You can't stay there all day holding a sleeping baby, your arm will go numb." Lemmy got up slowly and deliberately, hoping that his movement wouldn't spook Harry. "Come on Wren, why don't we show Harry how to wrap up Nox so he won't make a mess. Then we'll get him all wrapped up and off to sleep."
Harry stayed completely still as Lemmy came closer before getting down on his knees and laying the triangle out on the floor, the point facing Harry.
"Now if you just put him down on the cloth, legs facing you." Harry tried to manoeuvre the baby onto the cloth but it was difficult with his other arm full. Lemmy reached over and picked up a fur and arranged it on the floor near Harry. "Why don't you put Aurel in there and Wren can keep him entertained whilst we get Nox ready for his nap?" Harry looked dubious for a moment before he slowly deposited Aurel into the nest of furs with a little help from Wren, who was more than happy to entertain the blond child.
Lemmy showed him how to fold in the corners, tuck them and tie them until Nox was secured against little accidents. Once Nox was tucked into his nest Aurel was bought over for Harry to try his new skill. He managed after a few attempts, Wren helpfully providing a distraction, and by the end Aurel was wearing a passable nappy and was close to joining his brother into the land of Nod.
"That is really good work, Harry. You're a natural." Harry looked up from his work and smiled. Aurel congratulated him with a giggle smile which quickly turned into a yawn. Harry wrapped him up in his fur and placed him with his brother to sleep. "I'm sorry, sweetie, but Aurel can't play at the moment, he is having a nap. I think I have some chalk and slate in my bag you can draw on." Harry looked over at Wren, who was sitting on her mother's lap, her bottom lip sticking out. "Come on let's get you settled so I can get back to my weaving. Would you like to join us, Harry? I can teach you?" Harry looked down at the sleeping twins. He was loath to take his eyes off them for a moment even though they were only a few inches away. "They'll be fine. If they need anything, believe me they'll let you know."
Harry looked up at the smiling Lemmy and then back down at the twins. That at least he knew was true. They told him everything in their own way. Even now he could feel them hovering at the edge of his consciousness, both dreaming happy dreams. Harry absent-mindedly tucked the corners of Nox's fur tighter around his body. He looked back up the two adults who were still looking at him expectantly, their sticks and newly formed cloth dangling from their fingers. If he could learn he could make something for the twins? Something nice, that they would like. Harry smiled at Lemmy and nodded.
It was several hours before Harry was able to do more than just tie himself up in thread or create a knotted ball of twine. Lemmy did most of the talking, sharing news and gossip, with Harry and Melim content to allow him to. Harry had no clue who the people were that he was talking about but was happy to listen to the pleasant ramblings, whilst waiting for the inevitable correction to his hands when he tied one of his fingers to the blanket. Wren had lived up to Lemmy's warnings by climbing on top of all of them before running around the hut, investigating any nook or cranny she could find, including playing with some very beautiful stones and shells which Harry promised himself to investigate once he had finished his weaving.
A/N what do you think? I'm not so sure about the chapter but I like Lemmy. Things should start moving a little faster after this.

The AFF system includes a rigorous and complex abuse control system in order to prevent improper use of the AFF service, and we hope that its deployment indicates a good-faith effort to eliminate any illegal material on the site in a fair and unbiased manner. This abuse control system is run in accordance with the strict guidelines specified above.
