Chapter 21 : The Aftermath of Everything – May 16, 1994
Severus leapt forward and managed to catch the boy before he could do a face plant. There were still licks of black fire concentrated in his hair, and Severus tentatively waved his hand through them, marveling at the fact that it didn't burn at all.
"What magic is this?" Severus muttered before picking the boy up-he was still too light-and laid him out on the sofa.
Just as he shifted his weight, Severus felt an odd vibration in the boy's robe pocket. Fishing it out, he found the communication mirror that Black enchanted. Well, Black was going to have to wait until Severus assured himself that Harry was okay. So he cast a couple diagnostic charms, relieved that it was only magical exhaustion that caused the boy to faint. No doubt whatever transported them from the forbidden forest and through the Hogwarts wards had to be some powerful accidental magic-if it was accidental magic.
Once he was satisfied, he activated the mirror, not wanting Black to get it into his head to try and find them. "What is it, Black," Severus spat out when Black's face appeared. There was a nice contusion on Black's forehead and blood ran in rivulets down the side of his face. He must be sporting one gigantic headache.
"How's Harry? Where is Harry?" Sirius demanded, trying to peer around Severus to see if Harry was behind him.
Severus sighed. He just knew if he left Black in the dark, the man would risk exposure and try to find his godson. And then all their plans would be ruined. "After you so ineffectively dealt with Lupin," Severus began, getting a dark scowl from Black. "The beast chased us through the tunnels. But just as I reached the opening, Lupin managed to snag the tail of my robe." This was said in disgust. If he'd only put on just a little more speed, they wouldn't be in this situation.
Sirius' eyes widened. "But then, how did you escape?" he asked anxiously, knowing the only outcome possible when a werewolf caught you. He could have lost his godson before he even got to know him!
"I am uncertain what happened after that," Severus admitted. "But the only logical conclusion is that Harry's accidental magic kicked in and transported us to my private quarters."
Sirius squinted, half in pain and trying to think. "Isn't he little old for accidental magic?"
Severus rolled his eyes. "You'll find the laws of magic and nature don't apply to the boy. Now, if you are through with this asinine interrogation, I must take Harry to the infirmary. Unsurprisingly, he's suffering from magical exhaustion."
"Wait, wait, wait! What are you going to say about Moony…er Remus?"
Severus sensed the other man's worry, but he couldn't care less about the werewolf who was so careless that he'd forgotten to take the Wolfsbane that he spent 11 hours brewing. "That is not my concern," Severus replied coldly. "My only concern is getting Harry stabilized and making sure the Headmaster doesn't send the entire auror corp through those tunnels looking for you. If I were you, I'd pray that Lupin is just as loyal."
Sirius' shoulders slumped and he nodded in understanding. His childhood friend had already endangered his pup, and now could endanger him as well.
Not waiting for a reply, Severus de-activated the mirror, and slipped it into his own robes. Then he fished through Harry's pockets, taking out any magical items that could implicate him as a Dark wizard. He found a surprisingly different array, in addition to the Knot of Misery, Pettigrew in the potion's jar, the bi-colored horn, and some kind of diary that radiated a lot of dark magic. Dark wizards tended to booby trap their items, so as curious as Severus was, he resisted the temptation to open it.
Now clean of all paraphernalia, he picked the boy up again and flooed into the infirmary. Meanwhile, he sent his doe patronus with a message to the Headmaster, having finished crafting his story. By the time he transfigured Harry's clothes into a hospital gown, Poppy came out of her office.
"Is that Harry, again?" she asked, seeing who her new patient was. "I swear that boy gets into more accidents than his whole class put together."
"I will spare you the trouble of treating him then," Severus returned dryly.
"Oh, you know that's not what I meant," she chided before raising her wand to perform her own diagnostic charms. But before she could, Dumbledore and McGonnagall came rushing into the small infirmary. "I have a patient here, if you don't mind," she scolded.
"Forgive us for the intrusion, Poppy," Albus said, apologetically. "But Severus has sent a patronus with some rather urgent news." At this, all eyes turned to Severus.
"There is little more to say about the matter," he answered. "I left a brew of Wolfsbane for Lupin on his desk, just as I always do before taking Harry out to gather some potions ingredients that can only be harvested during the full moon. For reasons I do not know, Lupin had forgotten to drink the potion I so kindly provided and went on a rampage in the Forbidden Forest, where Harry and I had the misfortune of encountering the beast. Trapped within the wards, I couldn't apparate."
Minerva and Poppy turned pale at Severus' story while Albus frowned. "How did you escape then, my boy?" he asked.
Severus waved a hand at Harry. "His accidental magic somehow kicked in when the werewolf caught my robes." Severus showed them the tear. It indeed looked like they were shredded by claws. Poppy made a move, as if to push Severus onto one of her beds, but his glare stopped her in her tracks. "I am uninjured and do not require your services."
Poppy sputtered indignantly. "That look of yours doesn't phase me. Now get…" She was interrupted when Dumbledore raised his hand for her to stop.
"Please, Poppy. It is more important that we find out what happens," Dumbledore said, his eyes turning hard. "Severus, continue with your report."
Severus inclined his head. "As I said, Harry's accidental magic transported us back into Hogwarts, and Harry is suffering from magical exhaustion, not to mention some cuts and bruises as well."
"And where is Remus now?" Minerva asked.
"Still out there terrifying the denizens of the forest, no doubt," Severus answered uncaringly and turned to his employer. "However, I suggest you find a way to subdue the beast before it finds its way to the gates of Hogwarts or Hogsmeade."
"Of course, if as you say is true," Albus replied seriously. "We could use the aid of your wand."
Severus shook his head. "My duties to that wolf end at brewing Wolfsbane," he replied. "Besides, I intend to make sure Harry comes out of his exhaustion without complications."
"I can handle him," Poppy spoke up. "They really could use your help."
"And do you know how to prepare a core stabilizer?" he asked. "They must be administered fresh." He knew she didn't. Poppy's usual treatment for magical exhaustion was simply to let the patient rest and in time the core would heal itself. Severus, however, preferred to stabilize the core first before letting magic refill it. The core was like a clay pot. After such a traumatic assault on it or as the body aged, it acquired hair-line cracks. Each on its own was insignificant, but over time the damage accumulated and magic slowly leaked out.
Poppy nodded to Severus' greater experience. With Severus' position made clear and knowing how stubborn he was, the other two teachers left probably to recruit others to help. Severus went to the mini-potions lab to begin brewing the core stabilizer, letting Poppy take care of the little cuts and bruises Harry collected during their mad dash through the tunnels.

When Harry opened his eyes, he immediately recognized the white walls of the infirmary and groaned.
"Potter! Harry, are you awake?"
Harry peeled open his eyes and blearily made out his teacher's silhouette. Thankfully it was still dark, so he hadn't missed out on too much being unconscious…unless a whole day had passed… "How long?" Harry rasped.
Before he got his answer, his glasses were slipped on so he didn't have to squint and then a straw was slipped between his lips. Harry drank deeply.
"No more than a couple hours," Severus answered, keeping his voice low and soothing. Most of that time had been because Severus was brewing the Core Stabilizer. Severus was privately amazed by Harry's regenerative abilities. "I didn't expect you to wake up for another several hours."
"What's happening out there?" Harry pushed himself up with his teacher's help. "I remember Lupin and…and the black fire…and now I just feel like wet noodles."
"One thing at a time," Severus said. "First, your godfather survived. As far as I can tell, he's only suffering from a knock on the head. I've already sent a house-elf to deliver him some food and a blood replenisher, an anti-concussion, and an anti-headache potion. Hopefully he will get it into his non-existent mind to stay in those blasted tunnels and not storm up here to see you."
Harry smiled. "That was nice of you. I know how much you dislike him."
Severus snorted. "I just didn't want him to keel over before your plans unfold," he said indifferently. "I've also reported Lupin's little attack. The Headmaster and the others are currently searching through the forbidden forest for him and Hogwarts is in lockdown just in case Lupin manages to find his way to the castle."
Harry's eyes grew dark, shadowed by the horror of being chased down by a savage werewolf. "I hope they use a lot of silver," he said darkly. His fists, weak as they are, clenched tightly against his blankets until they shook.
Severus merely nodded, unsurprised. While he'd been flying through the tunnels, he could only focus on getting them out of there, but Harry had been face to face with the snarling beast. No child, no matter how mature could get past that horror without a few nightmares. After that, he filled Harry in on what he told the Headmaster so their stories would match.
Harry nodded after his teacher was finished. It sounded like it answered all the important questions. Besides, Harry had witnesses that would confirm he went out with his teacher to gather ingredients. The only flaw was … "Will Lupin confirm our story?" Harry asked. "And what was he doing out there anyway?"
Severus shook his head. "He has been lurking in the forest after classes are over. He even missed the last two staff meetings. I suspect it is because he was trying to find Black, himself, but we cannot know for sure until we ask him," Severus answered. "I just hope that his Gryffindor loyalty remains true and not give up his own friend."
Harry worried about that. "Gryffindor loyalty is far over rated," he said, remembering how his house turned on him in second year, and how unreliable his friends are. "So my accidental magic kicked in and that's why I feel like this?" Harry asked, changing the topic.
Severus had to agree with Harry's assessment of his own house. Some, like Harry exhibited all the good qualities of the Lion house, capable of great loyalty, bravery, and nobility, but most of the others were a fickle lot. He set the issue aside to answer Harry's question. "You're suffering from a bad case of magical exhaustion. I've already stabilized your core, and according to my scans you're already back up to half power. By tomorrow morning, you'll be terrorizing the halls of Hogwarts once again."
Harry nodded relieved, thankful that this time he had Severus' help, unlike back in 1st year with the stone. "So what was that fire, you think?" he asked softly.
"I've already placed privacy charms around us," Severus said, though he approved of Harry's caution. "As for your question, there are several magical animals that can control black fire, including the dark phoenix, hell cats, demon steeds also known as the Black Unicorn, the Onyx Dragons of Australia and a few others."
Harry's brow crinkled. The only ones he was familiar with was the black unicorn, thanks to his wand. But he recalled how Marvolo said for every light creature there was a corresponding dark creature. "I know Fawkes is a phoenix." Then he smiled widely. "Maybe one those creatures found out we were in trouble and came to help us," he said, liking the idea that some kind of magical creature was looking out for him. "Just in time too, I'd say."
Severus shook his head. The boy's ability to deny of his own magical strength was awe inspiring. "Harry," Severus said. "It wasn't any of those creatures that came to save us. That black fire came from you. In fact, conjuring it nearly drained your core dry."
"Oh." Harry slumped back into his pillow and chewed on his lip. Suddenly, an image of the black fire licking against his skin flashed in his mind. "So that's another thing that makes me different."
"Don't look so glum," Severus chided, knowing every other wizard out there would give his wand arm for the ability to control such a magical fire, wherever it came from. "It was this ability that saved our lives."
"Yeah, I'd like to see you say that again after I accidentally burn down your lab," Harry said sarcastically.
Severus winced. Things did tend to go pear shaped around the boy. Even a simple mission to locate Black somehow turned into a werewolf attack. "The only thing we can do is to learn as much as we can about it," he said as the boy gave a big yawn. "But I think you only resort to it when your life is in danger."
That triggered another memory hidden deep in Harry's occlumency shields. "I think I used the fire thing before, only I didn't realize it," Harry murmured. "Remember back in first year? I…I'd just touch Professor Quirell's face and he burned." Harry shivered at the memory and the smell of burnt human flesh. No one threatened to arrest him, but he had killed a man, with his bare hands at that. Harry's eyes became more shadowed as he recalled the horrifying details. "It was too dark to see if there was black fire or not, but something burned the professor so hot that he turned to ash right in front of me."
"Merlin," Severus breathed. This was the first time he heard Harry talk about that night. He couldn't comprehend the horror and trauma that would've inflicted on a child's mind, let alone his magic. He could recall Harry had been confined to the infirmary for several days to heal. "I'm sorry I did not come to help you then," he apologized. He was so sorry for leaving an eleven year old to deal with taking a life by himself.
Harry shook his head, visibly pushing that memory back into his occlumency shields. "That's not why I brought it up," he said. "Do you think it's what happened?"
"It's highly possible," Severus answered from what little he knew about the situation. "What did Albus say to you about it?"
Harry screwed up his face distastefully. "Not much. Just that when my mom died, her love and sacrifice marked me or something and gave me protection, and that's why my touch hurt him."
Severus did not miss the sarcasm in the boy's tone. He, himself, had heard this too and it was also used to explain how a little baby had managed to vanquish the Dark Lord. "But you don't think Lily's sacrifice was enough?"
"If she was a well-practiced dark witch and underwent the right rituals, maybe. But Light witches and wizards abhor sacrificial and blood magics," Harry said. "Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what she tried to do, but her death was not the reason why I survived. I mean how many mothers do you think would sacrifice themselves for their children?"
"Almost all of them," Severus said, finally seeing where this was going. During his time as a Death Eater and spy, he had seen many mothers and fathers throw themselves before the Killing Curse to shield their families. If Albus' reasoning was sound, than Harry's case should not be so exceptional.
"Mom should have just gotten out of the way when Vol…the Dark Lord told her to," Harry said, shaking his head. If his mom listened, he wouldn't be an orphan now.
"Wait a minute," Severus sat straight up. "Did you say the Dark Lord tried to spare Lily?"
Harry was taken aback by his teacher's sharp tone, but then he remembered Marvolo saying the only thing Severus wanted in exchange for his Death Eater services was that Lily Evans would be safe. It would mean a great deal to Severus to learn the truth.
"Before I made my Knot, the dementors made me remember that night," Harry fibbed, since he couldn't tell Severus the actual source of that memory. "The Dark Lord came into my nursery and said, 'Stand aside, you silly girl! Stand aside and you shall not be harmed!'" Harry recalled, dropping his voice to mimic Marvolo's. "Then my mother said, 'Not Harry, please no, take me, kill me instead!' Voldemort said she didn't have to die, that this would be her last warning, but my mom was stubborn. She begged for mercy, and the Dark Lord gave her one last chance-a third warning-before he fired the Avada at her." Harry closed his eyes at the echoes of the memory. He could still see the green light flash before his eyes and tried to remember if there was any black fire involved, but it was too fuzzy to tell.
"So he kept his word after all," Severus whispered under his breath, but Harry caught some of it.
"Yes. He gave her three chances to get out of the way," Harry confirmed. "He did not betray your faith in him. My mother just didn't give him a choice."
Severus' eyes flew open at the boy's cryptic remark, but he knew if he asked, the boy wouldn't or couldn't give him a straight answer. Besides, it was pass time Harry went back to sleep. "You should be resting, not dredging up painful memories," he said and produced a potion vial. "This is Dreamless Sleep. I suggest you take some."
Harry was relieved at his teacher's foresight, because he knew the image of that werewolf was going to haunt his dreams for many nights to come. "Thank you, sir." He drank it and welcomed the rest that would not be plagued by nightmares.

May 16, 1994
The next time he woke up, it was to the voices of his two friends whispering loudly above him. Light immediately blinded him making him clench his eyes tightly. "Is it morning already?" he groaned.
"Look, now you woke him up," Hermione scolded before turning concerned eyes at Harry. "Are you alright?"
"I will once my vision clears," Harry said and Ron passed him his glasses. "Thanks."
"What happened, mate?" he asked. "All we were told was that you got injured somehow and Professors Lupin and Snape had to rescue you."
That made Harry sit up. "Lupin? Tell me everything," he demanded.
Ron and Hermione traded confused looks before Hermione answered. "Well, you were out in the Forbidden Forest gathering ingredients, right? And just after you met up with Professor Lupin, some kind of creature attacked you. Professor Lupin held the creature off, while Professor Snape took you back to Hogwarts. Then the teachers all went out to bring Professor Lupin back." She pointed to the next bed over.
Harry raised himself up to look, stunned to see Remus Lupin sleeping in the very next bed.
"He doesn't look too good, does he," Ron said sympathetically. "Must have been some beast. They even locked the school down because they were afraid the creature would get into the school."
Harry had to admit, the man looked like he went a round or two against a werewolf. Whether his current condition was because of his werewolf transformation or because the other teachers used maximum force, Harry didn't know. Still, based on the story his friends just told him, it sounded like Dumbledore was going to try and bury the incident. Harry couldn't imagine how Severus must be feeling right now.
"Do you think it was Sirius Black again?" Hermione asked.
"Or maybe it was the dementors again," Ron added.
"Don't be stupid, Ron," Hermione said. "Dementers don't cause physical harm, not like that anyway."
Harry was torn from the other two's questioning looks when he felt the Headmaster's powerful aura approaching. Severus or Madam Pomphrey must have put some kind of monitoring spell on him that would alert them when he woke up because behind the Headmaster, Harry could also pick out his teacher's magical signature along with a couple others.
Thinking quickly, because Harry didn't want Dumbledore to sweep this incident under the rug again, he spoke up the very second Dumbledore's bright robes appeared in the doorway. "Lupin's the werewolf who attacked me!" Harry declared loudly and acted scared. "How could you keep him here with me?"
At this, both his friends gasped theatrically and looked at the unconscious man with wide eyes. Ron even looked a little pale, with his freckles standing out.
Instantly, Dumbledore's eyes lost its twinkle, confirming Harry's suspicion.
"If you all will stop gawking and let me through. I do have a patient to see to." Severus' acerbic voice spoke up as he pushed his way forward.
In addition to his teacher, Andromeda Tonks and McGonagall were also present. Severus had probably contacted Harry's lawyer for him and McGonagall was here because she was his head of house. While Harry submitted to his teacher's scans, Dumbledore spoke.
"Now Harry," he began. "Who told you it was Professor Lupin?
Harry knew the Headmaster wanted him to implicate Professor Snape, and he was not going to play along. Instead, he looked at the old wizard as if he lost his mind. "Well, let's see," he said and began ticking off the points. "His boggart is the full moon. Professor Snape subs for him every full moon. Lupin looks sick around that time. And oh, I forgot. I actually helped Professor Snape brew Wolfsbane potion once, meaning someone in Hogwarts is a werewolf. I think it was rather obvious, sir," he finished, catching the smirk on Severus' face.
Hermione groaned. "How did I miss all the signs?" she asked.
Andromeda stepped up to Harry's bed and faced the Headmaster. "My question is how you could be so careless as to allow a known werewolf to teach a school full of children!" Andromeda scolded. "By all rights, he…" Andromeda stabbed a finger at the still unconscious man. "He should be charged with attempted murder, especially as Wolfsbane is easily accessible and free of charge. And you," she turned that finger on the Headmaster. "Should be charged as an accessory!"
Harry stared up at his lawyer, a little wide-eyed. He didn't realize she'd be so angry, but it made sense. She was probably wondering what other kinds of injustices occurred under Dumbledore's watch while her daughter was in school.
"Hold your tongue, Mrs. Tonks," McGonagall scolded. "Show a little respect for the Headmaster in front of the children."
Andromeda actually snorted. "I was never one of yours, Minerva, so don't think that tone can intimidate me," she said. "Now, I want to know how you are going to fix this."
At this, everyone turned to the Headmaster, who looked like he was nursing a huge headache. "We cannot let the truth of the incident leave this room," he said. "The ramifications to all werewolves will be dire."
"Then maybe you should have thought about that before you hired him," Harry spoke up. "This is the second time he's attacked a student, and this was no prank! He was careless and forgot to take his potion. Simple as that. No excuses."
"My client's position is clear on this," Andromeda added. "Laws are in place for a reason, Mr. Dumbledore, especially public safety laws. You cannot disregard them without consequence."
"What will you have me do then?" the Headmaster offered and looked at the boy in disappointment. "Can you not find it in your heart to forgive your father's friend? They were as close as brothers."
Harry's temper flared when Dumbledore tried to make him feel guilty. Dumbledore was trying to make him feel like he was the cold hearted monster for seeking justice. "If you wanted me to feel any filial feelings for my father, you shouldn't have left me to the Dursleys," Harry said. "You think invoking my father's name will make me feel guilty? Well, it's your fault that I only knew James as a drop out drunkard until I was eleven. And Lupin is nothing more to me than an acquaintance who should be held responsible for his own actions."
The headmaster shook his head. "Is there any compromise we can make?" he asked. He couldn't let the public know he'd hired a werewolf to teach their children, who already had a history of attacking his classmate. And once it got out that this same werewolf actually attacked the Boy-Who-Lived, there would be no recovering from that backlash. Since the will reading, his reputation was already tarnished enough in relation to all things Potter. "I cannot in good conscious make all werewolves pay for the mistake of one."
Harry did feel a little guilty about that part. Just because it was him who was attacked, the ministry will use this as a chance to pass all sorts of anti-werewolf laws.
"How about this," Andromeda spoke up, seeing Harry's troubled look. "I will file this incident to the ministry and seal it. But the school board will be notified of Professor Lupin's werewolf status and be sworn to secrecy about the incident itself. It will be a black mark on your record as Headmaster," Andromeda said. "But that is far better than being charged as an accessory to attempted murder or negligence."
"And in return?" he asked, not agreeing to anything yet.
"And in return," she said. "You will cease any further attempts to gain guardianship of my client. In fact, the only authority you will have over him is in your capacity as the Headmaster of his school." Then she turned to her client. "Is this acceptable to you?"
Harry's eyes glittered happily. "Wow! I wish I hired you when I first learned I was a wizard," he said, and this earned a chuckle from both Severus and Andromeda. "But what about Professor Snape? You were attacked too."
"I'll be satisfied knowing Lupin no longer has the Headmaster's protection and will be held accountable from now on," he answered. Plus, by not asking for payment, Lupin was now magically indebted to him. It wasn't exactly a Life Debt, but it could come in useful sometime in the future.
"So there you have it," Andromeda said. "What say you?"
Dumbledore frowned, silently cursing Remus' carelessness. Losing any and all authority over the Harry Potter was a big blow against his future war plans. He needed the boy to fight and die for their side, and that would be impossible if he lost all control over his weapon. However, Remus was also a convenient tool, weak and gullible. If he gave up this guardianship business, which wasn't going as well as he hoped anyway, Remus would feel further indebted to him. Another advantage was that he would also gain Sirius Black's loyalty too. The Marauders were like a pack, and perhaps he could spin it so Sirius would be grateful to him for protecting Remus. Yes, that sounded plausible, and besides if he couldn't have the Potter accounts then he most definitely needed the financial and political support of the Blacks.
"This is not an easy decision to make," Dumbledore began. "I fear by removing my protection, Harry will be left vulnerable. But I also cannot bear the thought of subjecting all those innocent werewolves to the public hysteria if this ever got out."
"We do not need a monologue of your woes, Mr. Dumbledore," Andromeda said coldly. This earned her a glare from the ever loyal deputy headmistress, but Andromeda was also getting tired of the old man's emotional manipulation. "We just need an answer."
Dumbledore sighed, accepting Minerva's support. "Yes, I will concede to your demands."
"Our compromise, you mean," Andromeda amended. "I shall draw up the appropriate papers and have them ready for you to sign by tomorrow. In the future, Mr. Dumbledore, I recommend you not attempt to put yourself above the law again. Now, if I may have a moment to speak with my client alone?" There was a lot of shuffling around and grumbling as everyone emptied out of the room. "You may stay, Mr. Snape, in lieu of my client's guardian," she said.
Harry waited until Andromeda erected her own privacy wards before he spoke. "Thanks for coming. I didn't even know Professor Snape called you."
"He actually called me for a different matter," Andromeda said and produced the jar that held the still sleeping rat.
Seeing it made Harry suddenly realized that Severus had cleaned out his pockets before handing him over to the infirmary, where all his dark items would have been found. The man was amazing with little details like that. No wonder he was such a good spy and Potion's Master. Harry flashed his teacher a grateful look before turning back to his lawyer. "When do you think Sirius Black's name will be cleared," he asked.
"That is hard to say," she admitted. "Assuming he'll turn himself in the moment Pettigrew's confession hits the papers, then possibly by the time your Hogwarts term is over, which is fortunate because that is also the deadline that Child Welfare will decide on your guardian."
"Will Harry have to testify?" Severus asked, knowing Harry wanted to keep as low of a profile as he could. Plus his involvement would only muddy the picture and uncomfortable questions would be asked about how a 13 year old boy apprehended a fully trained wizard.
"I don't believe so," Andromeda said. "You told me it was you who noticed something unusual about Mr. Weasley's rat and took appropriate action. If you have time today, Mr. Snape, I'd like to take Pettigrew to Madam Bones as soon as possible and get the ball rolling."
"Allow me moment and I'll accompany you." Severus turned to his patient. "You can perform a few minor spells, but nothing that will stress your core for at least 24 hours. If you feel faint or if your magic still seems shaky, you may take another vial of core stabilizer. You know where I keep my personal stores."
"Yes sir," Harry replied and watched his teacher and lawyer leave the room. Hopefully between those two capable people, this whole business with Sirius will be resolved.
A/N: Sorry to those who were looking for more Marvolo action, and this probably raised even more questions about Harry's black fire, but there's a reason for this. Since I did away with Dumble's explanation of Lily's love sacrifice protecting Harry from the AK, I had to give you guys another explanation for how Quirrel burned to death just by touching Harry. Since I created that plothole, I figured I had to fix it.
And to those of you who are worried that Harry will suddenly become all powerful because of this…no need to fear. Just like all other developments in my story, I aim for realism, or as real as a fantasy story can be.
Next up : The last chapter in the first series of In Servitude to the Dark! Will you guys help me reach 100 reviews by the next update? Pretty please?
