Yuki was huddled against the head board of the dingy bed she was on. She hugged her knees tight in an effort to feel as small as possible.
When the door opened, Yuki made no move to see who was coming through as a tall bed post stood in her line of sight. But the figure was large
and could not hide them self even if that was their intention. He had broad, strong shoulders, which cradled his long blond hair that fell down
over them. His pale face held two blue eyes, that shone well in the dark room, and that turned to look at Yuki on the bed.
"I see you are awake," he said in a rich and silky voice. He stood at the end of the bed, an expressionless look on him while he examined
Yuki.
She was examining him also, taking in his dark attire and flagrant demeanor. Something about his presence made her stomach twist into a
large knot.
"I'm sorry about the bump," he told her, pointing lightly to her head. "But I couldn't have you putting up a struggle. You can be quite
strong when you want to be." A small, half smile claimed his lips, turning his cheeks upward.
Yuki said nothing, and made no movements either, only that of her chest rising and falling with her deep breaths. She watched him, eyes wide
as if waiting to catch something else happening around her, and bit her lip nervously.
"How can you stand it in here with it being so dark," the man said nonchalantly. He walked over to the drapes and thrust them open in one
quick movement. "There, now that is better, isn't it?" There was barely any light outside. The sky was cloudy and a few drops of rain fell
every now and then. It felt just as cold in the room as it looked outside and Yuki shivered.
"Cold?" the man asked as he took a step towards her. Yuki flinched and tried to back away more, only to find that she couldn't. "Ah, I see
you are still afraid of me. That is good. Maybe then you won't run away again, and I won't have to punish you."
Looking up at him Yuki was both scared and confused. She had no idea where she was and this man before her, seemed so familiar, in a not so
good way. Yuki had wanted to know where she came from, but suddenly, she was more afraid to know, and would prefer not too if this man had
anything to do with her.
"I know that you lost your memory when you tried to get out of here," the man mused as he walked back over to the window and looked out for
a moment. "That was the effect of you trying to travel from here. Where you ended up, well I could never guess. I looked for you Yuki. I looked
for my most dear servant, but to no avail. I could not find you. It seems someone else did before I could. Now I wonder who it was, and what
has happened to you while you were away." He turned from the window and looked over at Yuki whose eyes still had not left him. "Judging from
your fear of me at this moment, I can tell that they must have treated you quite well. I must say, that does not make me look very good, hmm? But
I'm sure you'll get back into the way of things in no time, and once again grow used to our time together. Surely you haven't forgotten that?
I'm sure I can help you remember if you have," he said, the smile creeping across his face once more.
The knot tightening further in her stomach gave Yuki a hint of what the tall man was denoting. She still didn't really believe that this is
where she came from. She had believed she was from some place good, better. And maybe had a family. She remembered the memories she saw with
Severus. The one where she received a scar hung in her mind. She didn't want to believe it; she didn't want this.
When he was looking out the window once more, Yuki turned and looked to the door which had been left open. Without much thought, Yuki jumped
off the bed and flew for the door. She made it through and immediately ran down the long hall she was in. There were no windows but strange paintings that shouted at her as she past. Yuki had learned of them while saying at number twelve but these ones were different. The pictures were all dark, and some with creatures she had never heard of. They made shrieking sounds when she ran by and soon the whole corridor was filled with screaming. Yuki had to keep running because she knew he would find her with all the paintings giving her away.
Yuki kept turning down corridors, not knowing where she was going but just trying to get away. There became fewer pictures in some of the halls and she was thankful that there was no more yelling. Finally she found a dark, winding staircase. Knowing that there would be an exit at the bottom floor, and praying that thats where the stairs led, Yuki descended the stairs quickly. They seemed to go on forever, the soft stairs draped in a dark red rug. At the bottom there was only one way to go, another long corridor. It was beginning to feel as though she would never get out and look as though she was going in circles. She would have thought that had the corridors on this floor not had high windows up and down it. Yuki followed the hall, turning every so often down a new one. She didn't know what she was doing, it didn't feel like her running was getting her anywhere. Finally, up ahead she could see a large open room where the light was much more animated.
Yuki ran into that room to find that she was in large round foyer, with high doors all around and another long hall at the other end. Yuki looked at each door, guessing in her head which would be the right one to choose. When the sound of footsteps began echoing around the room, Yuki panicked and ran to the first door she saw. She slammed the door shut behind her which was a feat as the door was huge and almost reached the massive ceiling.
Yuki was in the biggest room she had ever seen. There were shelves lining the walls with books and otehr various things. Large pieces of art all around and in the middle a huge white grand piano. The windows were high up on the wall. Stained glass let in the faintest colors from teh dim light outside. Yuki backed away from the door slowly, keeping her eyes on it, waiting for something to happen. When it was silent for a while she let out a deep sigh of relief, and clutched her hand over her chest in an attempt to steady herself.
Then, from behind her, a few soft notes floated through the air. Yuki whipped herself around to find the man now in the room with her. He sat at the piano, his long, thin fingers playing a haunting melody in the tense atmosphere. Yuki cried out and ran back to the door she came through, but when she tried to open it, she found it now locked.
"You didn't think you could get away from me again so easily did you?" he asked as he continued to play. "I can always find you here, the walls have eyes." He lightly chuckled in tune with his playing.
Yuki had begun crying profusely. She felt a fear stronger then any she had felt in her memories, which she again began replaying in her head, trying to find one that would contradict with what was happening to her now.
"Why...why are you doing this?" she asked through sobs.
"It pains me Yuki, that you have forgotten. It hurts to know that wherever you were has made you forget where you are from, and where you belong."
"I don't belong here," Yuki growled.
"Oh, but you do. You see," he began, his nibble hands effortlessly striking the keys, "you, were a gift to me. A gift from the dark lord himself. I put in much hard work to discipline you and to see now that it was a waste because you have forgotten, well, it upsets me.
"Since you were young you have lived here, in my home with my family. I have tried to take care of you, give you everything you needed, and you repay me by running away." His voice was rising now, but he tried to calm it with his playing of the piano. "I asked very little of you, just that, you be there when I need," he drawled. "Was that so bad? Sure, you are my servant, but that is a great title; to be my precious servant. I take great pride in you, in what you can do. I guess now I'm going to have to refresh your memory, and remind you of what you are and who you belong to."
Yuki was listening to his words through the sound of the music and her own rapid heartbeat. Things were slowly coming back to her. His voice as he spoke reminded her so much of things. The house she was in, the very room she woke up in and the one she was in now, the things he was saying, they all were coming back to her. She was remembering one moment of time with each note played. But as she started to remember, she wanted to forget. Yuki tried to force all the invading memories from her mind and cried out, "You're lying!"
He stopped playing instantly, leaving the exquisite song left undone. He rose from the bench he was sitting at and slowly walked over to Yuki who fell to her knees on the ground.
"Am I?" he asked. "You know I'm not. I can see it in you; you know what I'm saying is true and you wish it wasn't. But, you are remembering just who you are, who I am, and what has happened to you within these walls." He leaned down in front of her, his long blond hair gracefully falling in his eyes. "You remember now, don't you?" His hand reached behind her to her right shoulder blade. Yuki cringed, but did not move away when she felt his cold fingers touch the mark on her back. "You are mine."
His hand drifted from her shoulder and down her arm. Yuki began sodding furiously, not being able to control herself anymore. Her face was hidden in her hands and her own long hair fell across her face. She felt broken suddenly, lost and broken. There was no more denying it. She knew it all to be true. If felt true and everything had now come back to her. She was angry with herself for leaving number twelve, though she knew they would have figured out who she was anyway. But at least there, they might have been able to help her. Now she had no one to help her, and she knew that she would never be the same. She would not see her friends, and she would not be free. Yuki was branded a slave.
The man stood up and walked over to the door he had locked and without turning to look at her said, "You are tired. Go to your room and rest. There is much to do tomorrow."
He left her in the room alone, crying on the floor. Yuki didn't know how long she was there, but she was too tired to get up or do anything. Somewhere in her crying she curled up into a little ball, and fell asleep on the floor, feeling hopeless and forgotten.

A/N: That kind of sucks, but not everything can turn out happy. You still don't know who the man is, though I'm sure everyone has their own asumptions as to who he is. You'll find out later in time. I like to keep things secret if you haven't noticed.:) Stay tuned for the next chapter. Please review.
To Leonora: I feel like quite a defective author. I understand what you mean about their reactions, and while they seemed to fit the characters to me, I see how they wouldn't for you. Being that I wrote this story, I know everything that has gone on, even things I didn't write. Ginny and Hermione were the only ones really upset with Yuki being gone and that was because I believed the grew really close to her(she has been there for longer then it seems, but of course, not thatlong). They looked up to her as an older female. Ginny has a ton of brothers and Hermione's best friends are guys. So when Yuki showed up they formed an attachment with her. I didn't write that in, at least not every well I suppose. But they did. I just didn't want to make a big thing of that because I would have felt that that was out of place with everything being about either Severus or Yuki. Does that make sense?lol. So I left that out. I wouldn't think the older characters would react as bad, maybe Tonks, but I think they would worry. Since I'm putting this story on another site, I can rewrite somethings to show the relationships between them more. I just, as the all knowing writter, lol, knew about those characters relationship and didn't think about how no one else would. So, I hope that clears things up:)
