Chapter 22: Not Think About It
My Dearest Riley,
From your last owl I can tell that you are tired and all you want is some sleep. Being away from you tugs at my heart as I long to be in your arms right now. I know I will see you in a weeks time and I am having a wonderful time with my parents. They wish to meet you over the Easter Holidays I hope you come with me. They were surprised as ever when I told them about you but they are happy for me and happy that I have found some one I gave my heart to. I long to see your smiling face and feel your kiss. A week seems like an enternty from now and I'm hoping they go by quickly. I do hope you are getting rest and the nightmares have stopped. All of us are trying to help and find out who is doing this to you. Two days before we leave for England I will be spending an early Christmas with my parents.. I can't wait to see you and hold you again. My world has changed since you walked into my life and I love you for that. Be patient my love and I will see you soon.

My Beautiful Hermione,
It is true I have not been getting much sleep and the nightmares seem to be getting worse as the days go by. But I do not want to think about that right now. I can't wait to see you in five days and hold you in my arms and keep you safe and warm. I would be happy to meet your parents and I am glad they are going to stand by you. Attached I have bought gifts for them and I hope that they will like it. We are getting ready for the Christmas Ball as we speak and I can't wait to see how even more beautiful you will look in a gown of your choosing. I have been taking extra lessons but it doesn't seem to be helping. Snape is researching different potions that maybe able to help me sleep peacefully. My mom has been sleeping on a small bed next to mine and I can tell she is tired. I don't want to be a burden to anyone with these nightmares. I feel as if I have put you all in danger with what has been going on. Dumbledore has returned with no news of any of my father's followers. You have brought out a side of me that I never thought I would see again and I thank you for that. I love you with all of my heart and I can't wait to see what the future will bring us. Do not worry about me while you are enjoying your vacation. I will be okay I promise you. I love you Hermione and that will never change.

Harry was sitting by the castle doors looking out onto the grounds and how peacefully it was. The sun was trying to break freen from he clouds and there were students outside enjoying the new fresh snow that had fallen last night. He couldn't help but worry about his Riley. He's had nightmares before but nothing to this extreme. He along with Snape have been helping her trying to clear her mind at night so that no one could enter her mind. She has even been taking dreamless potion but that doesn't seem to be helping. He just hopes that it would be over soon.
Harry was so lost in thought that he didn't see a snowball come his way. He took him by surprise and he stood up in shock. He looked around and saw Draco and Riley falling over in fits of laughter. He laughed and rushed off the steps and started to make a snowball and threw it at them. It wasn't long before the rest of their friends came and the snowball war had begun.
Dumbledore looked out onto the grounds from his office high above and he couldn't help but smile at them. They didn't have a care in the world right now and they didn't want to think about what has been going on. "Grandpa!" He heard and turned around and smiled as a little girl came running up to him, "Hello there little miss Ava," he smiled and picked her up and walked away from the window as a little boy and another littlle girl came rushing in. He laughed and gave them each a hug. Katie came in after them. He looked at his granddaughter and gave her a soft smile. She was tired and she needed rest. "Hello dear," he said warmly as he gave her a hug. He led her over to the couch by the fire along with the younger ones.
"How are Riley's nightmares?"
Katie sighed, "They seem to be getting worse as the nights go on. I can't seem to wake her up on my own. The potion is starting to take longer to wake her up and she doesn't seem to remember them when she wakes up the second time."
Dumbledore nodded, "I see. I don't know where to go from here. I might have to enter her mind while she is sleeping and see what I can find out."
Riley then came into the office with a smile, "Flitwick said you all would be here. I thought my sisters and brother would like to make a snowman today," she said with a smile and the her siblings cheered. "Come on let's go," she helped them into their coats and then gave her mom a kiss on the cheek and gave her great grandfather a hug. "Okay hold hands I don't wanna loose you," they all held hands and walked out of the office.
"How is she coping with Miss Granger being away?" He asked Katie as he gave her a cup of tea.
"She's on the phone with her for at least an hour and she's been writing and e-mailing her every day. I'm glad she's found someone to open up her heart again."
"I couldn't agree with you more," he could tell she needed rest and he gave her another warm smile. "Come you need rest you can use my bed chambers. I will wake you up when dinner is ready," he stood up and offered his hand. She smiled and took and he led her to his bed chambers, "If there's anything you need just let Dobby know," he kissed her on the forhead and then left her to ge to some much needed rest.
Katie sighed and walked over the grand bed and climbed in it. She pulled the covers around her and closed her eyes. She needed this more than she knew. With the little ones she had to take care of and now with Riley's nightmares. She was tired now more than ever. She never got the chance to go Christmas shopping she was hoping to in the next few days so that way it would be over and done with. She pushed those thoughts aside and she drifted off to a much overdue peacfully sleep.
Outside on the grounds everyone was making a snowman with Riley's siblings.
"So any word from Hermione?" Kelesy asked.
Riley nodded, "Yeah she's having a blast with her parents in Aspen. She misses me though and she's worried but I told her not to be. I already told you that her parents want to meet me over Easter and what else." She thought for a moment to see what else she could tell them, "Oh yeah her parents bought each of us a gift and so did she. They even got one for my mom and these three little monsters!" She said as she picked up Alex and spun him around. He couldn't help but laugh and wave his legs, "Ri Ri put me down!" he yelled. "Okay" and she dropped him and he fell through the snow and got up laughing.
"Wow they really didn't have to do that," Ryan said helping McKayla with her snowman.
"She does it all the time really. Her parents get me and the Wealseys something every year. They make ask you about your teeth though," he told them with a laugh. They all laughed and continued to help the little ones with their snowmen.
Hermione was looking out the window as the snow was lightly falling. She was at a nice resturant with her parents but she couldn't pay attention to anything that they were saying. She was day dreaming about seeing Riley again and she couldn't wait to see her.
"Hermione sweetheart are you alright?" Her mother Jane asked. If Hermione wasn't her daughter she could very well be her younger sister. They looked so much alike from their hair to their eyes.
"Hmmm? Oh I'm sorry mum I was just thinking," she confessed.
"About Riley?" Her father Charile asked with a smile. They had the same eyes and nose. It seems the only two things she seemed to get from him and she smiled at that thought. Hermione nodded as she took a bite of her food.
"From the way you talk about her she seems like a fine young woman," Jane smiled at her daughter.
"She's something else. She's so talented, she can dance, sing, play guitar, piano, drums, she loves to read and write."
"Sounds like the on," Charile teased as he took a sip of his wine. It was nice seeing his daughter happy with someone. He was shocked when he found out it was a girl but Hermione was his daughter and no matter what choices she made he would always support her.
"Have you given any thought as to what you want to do after you graduate?"
"I have mum. I would like to go to university and maybe persue a career in either buiness or teaching. I'm not exactly sure yet?"
"What about Riley what does she plan to do?"
"Well her band is signing with a major record label and they are going to release albums go on tours and when the time comes she's going to put her mic down and maybe start one of her own."
Charile nodded and smiled, "From the album you gave her band sounds really good. Not like the rest of these musicans these kids listen to now a days."
Hermione laughed and they continued to make small talk throughout dinner. They would be leaving for England tomorrow and tonight they woud spend Christmas together. She smiled as she looked at her parents and couldn't help but feel love and joy. She couldn't wait for Riley and them to meet especially her father because they seem to have the same interest in music and movies. Both are big fans of John Wayne and Clint Eastwood and she was sure they would talk about that. As for her mom she was sure that Riley may be able to teach her a thing a or two in the kitchen. Riley can cook very well and there have been a couple of times where Dumbledore would let her use the kitchens and Riley would make dinner for all of them after trainning when it was too late to eat dinner in the Great Hall. She was counting down the days until then.
Draco was getting ready for the day when he heard a knock on his door. He told whoever it was to come in since he was putting on his shoes. Mike came into the room and closed the door behind him. Draco stood up and walked over to him and shook his hand, "Did you find anything out?" Draco asked as he let go of his hand and walked over to dresser and put on his school ring. "We narrowed it down to a few people but they are all out visiting their familes. They're coming back today." Draco nodded and he looked at Mike he could tell he something else was bothering him and he knew it was because of his sister. Without thinking Draco walked up to him and put his arms around him. Mike didn't protest he just let the tears fall and held onto Draco as if he were his lifeline. Draco didn't say word he just held his friend in his arms until he knew he was calm enough to let him go.
Eric, Ryan and Kelesy were waiting in the common room all three just staring into the fire. Riley came out of her room and gave them each a hug. Today was hard on all of them because today was the day Danielle was murdered. Mike was the one they had to worry about today and they didn't want to think about it but it was there and it wasn't going to go away. Harry walked in and gave them each a hug as well, "I brought the glasses," he said as he reach into his bag and gave them each a glass. Draco and Mike came out of his room and hugs went around again. Even though Mike didn't know Harry and Draco that well he was glad that he met them. Eric poured some Firewhiskey into each glass and they all raised their glasses in the air and without thinking they all said, "To Danielle" then they all took a drink.
Silence followed and Katie came into the common room and made a beeline for Mike, "She would be so proud of you," she whispered and Mike let the tears fall for a second time that day. Eric took over as Katie went to Riley and she was trying to be strong but as soon as she was in her mom's arms she started to cry as well. "She loved you baby girl and she still loves you." Riley nodded and let go of her mom and walked over to Mike. They held each other close and they both cried, finally letting it all out. They were the ones hurting the most today and they needed each other.
They finally calmed down and they wiped their eyes. "Now, now Danielle wound't want us to cry. Come one the train is going to be here any minute and we have some friends to greet," Eric said with a smile and they all chuckled. They left the common room and made their way through the castle and to the grounds. They each stopped and took in the fresh air. They smiled at each other and started to walk towards the train station.
"Hermione calm down you just have to wait a few more minutes," Ginny said with a laugh. Hermione was standing by the windwo with her trunk ready to go.
"I know I know I just want to make sure she's really okay her last owl told me that today was hard on all of them because of Danielle."
"We know, but you have to wait a few more minutes," Ron said as he touched her shoulder. She looked at him and nodded. She told them what today was when she saw them on the train and they nodded. They knew that Mike would take it really hard and today they would do whatever they could to cheer him up. The train finally came to a complete stop and Hermione jumped up and headed out of the compartment. Ron and Ginny laughed and followed her out.
As soon as she was off the train she smiled as she saw Hary and Draco then Eric and Ryan, then Kelesy and when she came to Mike she hugged him close and didn't let him go for a few moments. "She's always with you," she whispered in his ear and he nodded. They pulled away from each other and she gently touched his cheek, "You'll be okay," she said and he kissed on her cheek, "Thank you," he said and Ron came over and gave him a hug as well.
She found Riley standing there in a black pettie coat and tan kahaki pants and black dress shoes. Her hair was still black but slicked back and she was holding a single yellow rose. The both walked towards each other and had big smiles on their faces. "You look beautiful," Riley gave her the rose and Hermione blushed a little. "You look handsome," they took a step closer to each other and Riley wrapped her arms around her waist and pulled her close.
Once their lips met it was like the first time all over again. Nothing in the world mattered but them and everything around them dissappeared. They didn't have a worry in the world and their fears were gone. Hermione wrapped her arms around the taller girls neck and brought her closer. She didn't want to be away from her anymore than she already had been. This is where she wanted to be, here in the arms of the woman that she loves.
"Okay you two time to come up for some air!" Kelsey yelled at them. They both slowly pulled away from each other and smiled. "Come on we're Three Broomsticks bound butterbeers on me," Eric said as he grabbed Ginny's hand and they walked ahead of the group.
Riley held Hermione close as they were the last to follow them. She was glad to have her back it felt like a lifetime since she seen her, even though it was only for a couple of weeks. They got to the pub and they all walked in and grabbed a table. Once the everyone had a butterbeer Eric stood up, "Now we all know what to day is and to our new friends I'm glad you could be apart of it. Tonight is about celebration as we celebrate the life of Danielle Elizabeth Stark." He looked up and raised is glass, "Here's to you baby love," then he looked around at the table. "Celebration" and everyone repeated and clinked their glasses together.
The night went on with Riley and her friends telling stories of Danielle as the new ones listened and laughed at what stories they all told that were funny. As Draco was listening to his new friends talk about someone they lost he couldn't help but feel as if something was off. He looked around the table and saw that everyone was there but Lavender. To be honest they haven't seen Lavender since before Halloween. He kept the thought to himself and he didn't want to alarm them since Christmas was in a few days. He would be sure to tell them soon.
"It's almost ready my lord the girl's nightmares are getting worse," the woman said.
"Send word to him we do not attack unless he says so," the rasp voice said.
"As you wish my lord," and with that the woman left.
Just a few more weeks and the girl would finally be his.
