Thanks to everyone who reviewed the last chapter.

We're nearing the end of this story-just a few more chapters to go and I will try and tie up all loose ends.

Hermione had taken so many potions in the last few months that she couldn't wait for the child to be born!

"Four more months! You have got to be joking! How many more potions do I need?" she thundered daily and Lucius did his best to comfort her.

"I know pet", he would soothe, giving her a quick kiss that would sometimes calm and sometimes enrage her, depending on her mood. It seemed one of her favourite spells to throw at him lately was to change his hair colour. He had walked around with long, blue locks for 3 hours the day before since he had never seen a spell like that and couldn't find the counter-curse.

Once her mood had lightened, she had apologised and changed it back and she just needed to give him a kiss and put his hand on her stomach to have him forgive her with no repercussions.

He couldn't even hold a grudge against her! Then again, he had never been able to…for long.

Everyone they had told had taken it well, including Ron and the Weasley clan who Hermione insisted on telling since they shared Rose and Hugo's life. "We can't expect Rose and Hugo to not mention their new little sister every time they visit, Lucius. They'll find out eventually. It's better if we tell them".

Yes. They were having a girl. "Who will undoubtedly be spoilt", Hermione had confided to Ginny as Lucius was already planning a separate wing for her and stocking it with toys she wouldn't use for another four years at least!

Hermione's health had recovered with the potions so it was a surprise when she walked down a corridor one day and heard Lucius discussing moving plans with his father's portrait.

"Why are we moving?" she asked him and Lucius had smiled and given her a kiss, keeping his arm around her as he, with the help of his father, explained how another witch in the family had experienced the same problem as Hermione at the beginning of the pregnancy. "The Manor doesn't have enough Dark Magic to satisfy the growing child so we have another house. The earlier we move, the better".

"Dark magic?" Hermione had asked, gripping Lucius' hand tightly. He soothed her worries with another kiss before responding, "We're both powerful figures Hermione. The child needs to be surrounded by powerful magic. Dark magic is the strongest form. It won't have any negative effects. Cassandra did it and her child was fine".

"Cassandra?" Hermione asked, staring at her ring.

"Yes", Lucius smiled and nodded, "She was my great-grandmother and wore the ring before you. A powerful witch, like you. My grandfather and father turned out alright in the end".

The portrait sniffed in disdain at Lucius' tone and Hermione chuckled. She had to admit that she felt drawn to Lucius more than usual lately, partly because of the Dark Magic that always surrounded him. If that was what would help her baby, she would have no objections to moving.

She saw the portrait was studying her closely, having noticed the ring on her finger and she watched as a spark of recognition shone in his eyes. "Cassandra", he murmured, causing Lucius to frown at him in confusion.

"What, Father?" he asked, his arm tightening around Hermione as she tensed under the Malfoy patriarch's scrutiny.

"She reminds me of my grandmother-Cassandra. It was like this between her and grandfather too. According to her, they fell in love, la prima facie. She was a dark but powerful witch. You have similar qualities".

Lucius looked at Hermione, expecting her to be shocked at the comparison. His great-grandmother's skills had been very similar to Bellatrix Lestrange's, even though they were not related. Both, like Hermione, were beautiful, independent, powerful women. And both had killed, the thought came to his mind unbidden and he frowned.

It was a story he had heard as a child.

His great-grandmother had killed a dark wizard who had attempted to harm her family. It had been a long time ago and she had resorted to Dark Magic…but surely that didn't count? Not when it was for the sake of protection.

He hoped Hermione would not be offended by his father's comments.

He was taken by surprise as Hermione suddenly relaxed in his arms, letting out a peal of laughter that sounded like music to his ears. His father simply smiled at his lovestruck expression.

"How many dark witches must I be compared to? I get it. I'm powerful", she smiled up at Lucius who responded with, "And dangerous. Let's not forget dangerous".

She laughed again as his eyes told her he was talking about their activities in the bedroom as opposed to her magical powers.

"La prima facie", she murmured to him now, causing him to press a tender kiss to the top of her head as he understood the meaning of the Latin phrase.

"At first glance". They had fallen in love at first glance, just like them!
