“We need to have another meeting soon, Sir. I’m ready to bring Draco.” Harry told Dumbledore.Dumbledore smiled. “I thought that might be the case after the last meeting. Would this Friday be soon enough for you?”Harry nodded. That would be the start of his weekend with Draco. “That should be soon enough. We’ll be ready.”“Good, good. I’ll get the word out, then. Go ahead and tell Ms. Granger and Mr. Weasley for me. We’ll meet here to take the Portkey at seven, as usual. Bring Draco under your cloak.” Dumbledore told him.Harry nodded. “Um, Sir, should we maybe warn Snape before we tell the Order?”“Professor Snape, Harry.” Dumbledore gently chided.“Right.” Harry said, nodding. “Should we tell him before the others?”Dumbledore smiled and shook his head. “There’s no need to explain things twice. He will understand the need for secrecy in this matter, and explaining things to him first will only take more time. He’ll likely want to speak to Draco after the meeting, however. You and Draco should discuss the matter before you come here. Draco will only be able to talk with him if you permit it, and even then, you will be the one to decide whether their conversation is private or not. You may want to discuss your options with Draco.”Harry nodded. “We’ll talk it over before Friday and decide what we’ll do. If Draco wants to talk to him privately, I think I’ll let him.” He said. “I know he won’t say anything I wouldn’t like, since he made it clear he’s happy with me and wants to make sure I come out of this alive.”“Well, My Boy, I’ll leave you to talk to Draco. I’ll see you both here on Friday.” Dumbledore said.Harry nodded. “See you then.” He returned, leaving the office and heading for the Room of Requirement. He went in and found Draco reading his Potions text.“Okay, so we’re going to an Order meeting on Friday.” Harry told him, sitting in the chair across from the blond.Draco put his book aside and got up to sit next to Harry’s chair at his feet, resting his head on Harry’s knee. “Alright. I look forward to it.” He said.Harry began absently running a hand through Draco’s hair and Draco leaned into the touch. “Snape will probably want to talk to you afterward. Would you like to talk to him in private?” Harry asked.Draco shook his head, careful not to dislodge Harry’s hand. “Anything he wants to say to me can be said in front of you, and I have no secrets from you.”Harry felt that tickle again, and wondered what secret Draco was keeping from him. It didn’t seem all that important, though, that Draco have no secrets. He was allowed to keep a few things to himself if he wanted to. Harry wouldn’t begrudge him that.“I appreciate that, Draco, but what if he wants to talk to you privately? He may have things he doesn’t want to say in front of me. We don’t get along on the best of days, after all, and he is your Godfather.” Harry pointed out.“Was. He was my godfather, but I had to cut even that tie, so that I had no one but you to turn to, as is proper.” Draco reminded Harry.Harry nodded. “Right. Still, what if he wants to talk to you alone?”Draco sighed. “Fine, if you feel that strongly about it, you can give us some time alone after the meeting. I’ll explain things to him. If he still has any problems with our situation after that, it won’t be my fault.”Harry smiled. “All right, so I’ll meet you here Friday night, at six-thirty. You’ll come with me to Dumbledore’s office under my invisibility cloak, and we’ll head to Headquarters from there.” He said.Draco smiled up at him. “Sounds good to me. Can I get a kiss before you leave?” He asked.Harry leaned down and kissed Draco deeply. He chuckled as he pulled away. “You’re getting awfully attached to me.”Draco blushed. “I have a good and kind Master. I think my attachment to you can be excused.” He said.“I certainly wasn’t complaining. See you Friday.” Harry said, tracing a finger down Draco’s cheek before he turned and left.Draco reclaimed his chair and sighed. “See you Friday, Harry.”*****Harry led Draco up to Dumbledore’s office.Ron, Hermione and Snape were already there, waiting.Dumbledore clapped his hands. “Good, then. We’re all here. Our Portkey for the night.” The man said, holding out a book.Harry took Draco’s hand in his own and made sure he was touching the Portkey, too, as the others all touched a finger to the book. The familiar sensation of a hook behind his navel was felt, and they were hurtling through space. They landed in the parlor at Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place, Harry falling, directly on top of Draco. He stood quickly, hoping no one had heard Draco’s hiss of pain at being landed on.Snape rolled his eyes at Harry and led the way into the kitchen.Ron and Hermione went next, leaving Dumbledore, Harry and Draco behind.Dumbledore smiled. “Remember, Harry, no matter what reactions you may get tonight, at least one person here believes you made the right choice.” He said with a wink.Harry smiled, taking Draco’s hand again. “Thank you, Sir.” He said, giving the hand a quick squeeze before dropping it and walking after the Headmaster into the kitchen and taking a spot at the table. After a moment, he felt Draco’s head on his thigh, letting him know that the blonde was kneeling beside him.The room slowly filled up.Once everyone was there, Dumbledore smiled. “Now that we are all here, there is an announcement that has to be made. Harry, you have the floor.”Harry stood up, taking a deep breath for courage, feeling Draco rise to his feet beside him. “I was approached by someone as the school year started that needed a way out of Voldemort’s service. He’d found a spell that would allow him to bind himself to another and forsake his own family in doing so, keeping him from having to take the Mark as his parents wanted. He came to me, asking me to perform the spell with him in order to keep him safe. I did. I’d like you all to meet my slave: Draco.” He said, pulling the invisibility cloak off of him.Everyone started talking at once.“Silence!” Dumbledore nearly shouted.Everyone quieted down again.“One at a time. Alastor, you have something to say?” The Headmaster turned to Moody.Moody snarled. “We can’t trust him! He’s a Malfoy!”Draco shook his head. “Not anymore. I was disowned when Lucius realized I had cut my blood ties. He apparently tried to pull me from school and was unsuccessful. I have no loyalty to my former family. The only loyalty I have now is to my Master.” Draco finished, grabbing Harry’s hand and holding tightly to it.“I think you’ll find that young Draco is perfectly trustworthy, considering that his health is now tied to Harry’s. If Harry dies, so, too, will he. He has every reason to want to see Harry succeed.” Dumbledore said calmly. “Remus?” He turned to the Werewolf.Remus looked at Harry. “Your slave? Harry, that’s not even legal-““Unless I am much mistaken, Mr. Potter would not flagrantly disobey the law, his respect for school rules, or lack thereof, notwithstanding. There are very few slavery spells still legal, but the ones for willing slaveries cannot be outlawed, because the subject to be enslaved must be willing to give up their freedoms.” Severus interrupted, looking at Draco as he spoke. “I believe we will find that this was Draco’s idea, and he is very much a willing participant.”Draco inclined his head. “Yes, Sir.” He said softly.“Still, Harry, a slave?” Remus asked.Harry flushed. “It was the only way to keep him safe that he could find. It’s better than having him become a Death Eater. I don’t want to fight anyone I don’t have to.” He said firmly.“If it helps, I felt the same way when I found out.” Hermione spoke up. “I’ve seen them together, and Harry treats him well. It’s not as bad as you’re probably thinking.” She said.Remus sighed. “Well, I suppose if you’ve got nothing bad to say about it, he must be doing right by-“ Remus made a face, “his slave. But I still don’t like it.”Molly Weasley was looking sadly at Draco. “Was this truly the only way?”Draco nodded. “I believe so, Ma’am.” He said respectfully. No one else seemed to know quite what to say.Harry straightened his spine. “As property, he can’t really join the Order, but he has something we need: he knows the layout of Malfoy Manor. If Voldemort is really staying there, like Snape says,” he nodded at the man, “Draco can tell us the layout, which will help. Plus, he could tell Bill what kind of Wards the Manor has in use. Since I already feel as ready as I’m going to get, it’s time to do something about it. We need Draco for that.”Draco nodded. “I’ll give you whatever information you need.” He said firmly to the group. “And, as I have Malfoy blood, Lucius cannot bar me from the Manor. I can get in, but once I’m inside, he’ll know. I can bring Harry with me, and with his invisibility cloak, we should be able to avoid detection long enough for him to kill Riddle.” He finished.“Or you could deliver him to You-Know-Who yourself, and earn his favor that way.” Moody pointed out.Draco rolled his eyes. “And die in the process, as my life is now tied to Harry’s. When my master dies, so, too, do I. And I intend to live a long life, which means Harry needs to get through this war in one piece. I will not be leading him to his death, and I resent the insinuation that I would.” He shot back.Bill stood up. “I believe you, and if you’d be willing, I’d like to discuss the Manor’s Wards with you now, so I can begin working on the spells needed to dismantle them.” He said evenly.Harry smiled. “Go over there and talk with him.” He told the blond. “He won’t hurt you, he’s safe.”Draco nodded and walked around the table and took the empty seat next to Bill.Harry looked around the table. “It’s time to start planning the final battle. We’re ready. I can cast the killing curse, and there’s nothing more to test or prove. It’s time.” He said.Remus nodded. “In that case, we’ll need Draco’s help to draw up a map of the Manor, and decide exactly how we’re going to get you to You-Know-Who.”Harry nodded, then called out: “Draco, when you’re done telling Bill what Wards the Manor has, we need you back over here.”Draco looked up. “Yes, Harry.” He replied, then went back to talking in low tones with the curse-breaker.Moody growled. “I still say we can’t trust the boy.”Harry nodded. “I’ll keep that in mind, Sir, but he’s mine, and I trust him with my life, and there’s nothing you can do or say that will change my mind, so we’ll just have to agree to disagree for the time being. But, know this: if you hurt him in any way, I will come after you, and you will not like what I do to you in recompense. Think on that before you damage my property, will you?” He asked icily.Moody met his stare, then, after a moment, he nodded and turned away.Severus was watching him silently, and his eyes narrowed on the word ‘property.’Harry hated to refer to Draco in that way, but legally, that’s all he was, now: Harry’s property.Severus walked up to Harry. “Mr. Potter, if we could have a private word?” He asked.Harry nodded, then turned to Remus. “Keep an eye on Draco for me, will you? Make sure he’s safe while I’m talking with Snape?” He asked.Remus nodded. “I’ll watch over him for you.” He promised.Harry led Snape out of the room and into the hallway.Snape sighed. “So, he went to you rather than coming to me.” He said heavily.Harry shrugged. “He really thought you were a Death Eater, Sir. You played your role a bit too well, that’s all. He needed to go to someone he was sure wasn’t on their side, and you didn’t look like an option. He was quite shocked when I told him you were Dumbledore’s man.” He explained.Snape sighed. “I understand. May I… Speak to him? After the meeting? I need to be sure he’s happy being yours. I always took my role as his Godfather seriously, and it pains me that he would willingly become a slave rather than risk coming to me with his dilemma.”Harry nodded. “I’ll let you speak with him, but keep in mind that he’s mine, now. He won’t take you speaking badly about me, so try not to speak ill of me to him. He won’t react well to it at all.” He warned the man.“I understand. And thank you, Potter.” Snape said.Harry nodded. “No problem.”They walked back into the room to find Draco standing nest to Remus, talking in low tones to the man.“And he’s not mistreating you at all?” Remus was asking.Draco laughed. “If you think he would mistreat anyone, you don’t know him very well.” He said. He met Harry’s eyes and smiled brightly. “My Master is wonderful to me.” He said more to Harry than Remus.Harry flushed. “I’ve told you not to call me that, Draco.” He said in exasperation. “Anyway, we need you to help us draw up a map of the Manor.”Draco nodded. “Then let’s get to work. This could take a while; the Manor is expansive.”*****Dumbledore smiled. “It’s time to call an end to this meeting. We have plenty of information now, and anything more can wait for next time, surely.”There were murmurs of agreement all around.Harry turned to Draco. “Snape wants to speak with you alone.” He told the blond.Draco rolled his eyes. “Fine.”Snape came over and raised an eyebrow. “Draco, could I have a private word?” He asked.Draco got up and walked into the hallway, trusting the man to follow him. He turned and smiled. “In the future, anything you say to me can be said in front of Harry.” He said firmly.Snape nodded. “I understand. But, Draco, did you really trust me so little? Did you truly think I would turn you over to the Dark Lord just because you didn’t want to join his cause? Did you think I loved you so little?” He asked.Draco sighed. “I didn’t know what to think, Sir.” He answered. “For all I knew, you were a loyal Death Eater, and I didn’t want to take any chances. As things stand, if I had it all to do over again, I’m not sure I would change my choice. Harry and I have come to trust each other a great deal, and he’s good to me. He’s never hurt me, and he would never mistreat or misuse me. He’s the best Master I could have asked for, for all that he hates the title.”Snape licked his lips. “If you don’t mind my asking, what binding did you use? There are so few still legal, and I can’t imagine you choosing any of them.”Draco blushed. “We used the Amore Schiavo.” He answered.Snape gaped at him. “So, you had to be intimate with him for the spell to take. And you say he hasn’t hurt you? I find that hard to believe.”Draco flushed. “He made it as painless as he could. But yes, we have been intimate, and are continuing to do so. It strengthens the spell, and since we don’t have love for each other, merely affection, we need that strength.” He admitted.Snape nodded. “I see. I will not judge you for doing what you felt you must, but know that if he ever hurts you, or you need to get away, for any reason, you may come to me. My door is always open to you.” He said softly.Draco shook his head. “I appreciate the offer, but my life lies with Harry now, and I’m happy that way.”Snape sighed. “I understand, Draco. I am sorry things had to come to this, but I will not interfere if you are truly content with the way things are.”Draco smiled. “I really appreciate your concern, Sir. It means a lot to me. Never doubt that.”“I will return you to Potter now.” Snape told him, walking back into the mostly-empty dining room, Draco following behind him.Harry immediately moved to wrap his arms around Draco. He leaned in to kiss him, and Draco flushed as he accepted the kiss.Ron, Hermione and Snape all looked distinctly uncomfortable with the display, but Dumbledore simply watched them with an indulgent smile on his face.“Well, now, I believe it’s time for us to head back to Hogwarts!” The man said cheerily. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
