As weeks went by Hermione had the time of her life but she was also weary. Cami only got worse and had even attacked her numerous times, Bella was falling in to her old ways more and more. She was restrained to her bedroom when Cami was out of hers then restrained to the second floor all the time. Hermione was back to being call the ‘mudblood’ all the time and more than once while Severus was attempting to teach Cami in the library he had to come out to physically restrain Bella who was attempting to hurt Hermione. All the while Cami stands by watching the scene before her with a strange smile on her face.
Hermione sat in her office, a place she seemed to spend most of her time nowadays, and wrote up yet another accident report. She didn’t want to give up on Cami especially if it meant sending her home to her little siblings but she wasn’t so sure that she could rehabilitate the little terror. It wasn’t fair to her other patients, she gave about an hour more of attention to Cami which was taking from therapy sessions with the others. She wasn’t lying to Cami’s parents, they got every report plus more about her attitude. Cami apparently wasn’t learning anything from Severus as she refused to listen to him and had even attacked him but she was indeed learning. She never made the same mistake twice, she knew what wouldn’t work, what would alert the Healers quicker and where to stand to sneak up on a person. She didn’t seem to mind being punished instead she just took it all in and held it in the steel trap that is her brain. The attacks were becoming more violent and if she didn’t figure something out then Cami was going to have to go somewhere else, but Hermione hated to be wrong so she kept trying so sure that there was going to be a break somewhere soon.
“Hey, Hermione” Gerard said from the doorway “Max is…well…he’s currently under attack”
“What?!” She stood up but he shook his head.
“Angelina and Bridget have taken care of it” He assured “I just wanted to ask if you, Harry and Draco are coming out with Parvati and I tonight?”
“No” She said “I have a lot of paperwork, I’m turning in early tonight”
“Okay” He smiled, their relationship had never taken off as they had only had a few drinks and that was with Harry and Draco but she had set him up with Parvati Patil.
“Lose something?” She asked as she watched him pat his pockets.
“I can’t find my lucky muggle lighter” He answered “It doesn’t work but my grandfather got it from someone years ago and he gave it to me when he died”
“I’m sorry you lost it” She answered “Did you have it when you entered here?”
“No” He said “I think I dropped it at the Ministry yesterday”
“I’m sorry” She said again “I’ll tell Harry to keep his eyes open”
“Thanks” He smiled at her “See you later”

“Cami attacked Max?” Hermione asked two hours later when all the patients were locked in their rooms “Why was she even near my office?”
“I don’t know” Bridget said “Bellatrix started to fight with me and Angelina was helping Dolohov upstairs. All the other healers were busy, I had two helping to calm LeStrange down when I looked up Cami was simply gone”
“I heard Max screaming” Angelina said “So I put Dolohov back to his room and charmed him in there and made my way down there. Bridget and Carla brought Bella upstairs while I fought to get Cami off of Max”
“Is he okay?” Hermione asked, she had yet to see him as he had been brought immediately to the hospital.
“I think she broke his ribs” Angelina answered “There was blood everywhere from superficial scratches” She went on and shuddered “It’s like there’s no love in that child at all”
“What?” Hermione said suddenly looking at the dark-skinned girl “What did you say about love?”
“Oh nothing” She answered “It’s just…I’ve never seen anyone, other than Voldemort of course, that had such hatred for other living beings for no reason…there’s no love in her system at all”
“You’re a genius!” Hermione exclaimed “Absolutely brilliant”
When Hermione entered her office again she sent out a letter to Cami’s parents immediately, telling them they were to come to the hospital right away. Then she opened three different books plus a journal she kept during the war and started the research that she needed. There was hurried knocking on her door and she called out for them to enter, she smiled and shook their hands before asking them to sit down.
“You sounded very excited” Sundry said “Has there been a breakthrough?”
“Not exactly” Hermione pursed her lips before pushing onward “Mr. and Mrs. Dias I need you to be perfectly honest with me”
“We have been” Norman said.
“No” She answered “First off this is a closed session. No one other than myself and you will know about what is being said in here. I need to know which one of you consumed a love potion and how long afterward Cami was conceived”
“Neither…” Norman started but Sundry put her hand over his and shook her head.
“I gave Norman an Infatuation Potion” She admitted “We should have been together but I was stupid and by the time I realized that we should be together I was already losing him” She wiped a tear away and he put his arm around her “I had heard cases of witches using Infatuation Potions on the men they loved. The man would take the potion and give them a chance to learn about one another and then after a month or two she would end the potion. If he truly loved her then it would be okay if not then it was never meant to be”
“So you tried it” Hermione led.
“He fell in love with me” She answered and he nodded “After two months I ended it and confessed everything to him. He was angry with me and left but came to his senses a week or so later, that was in September and I found out I was pregnant in October, I was only three weeks along”
“That’s not how it works” Hermione ground out, she was fighting against the urge to call the woman an idiot which she was “You have to make sure the potion is out of his system, that can take two full months!”
“So…” Norman said “She was conceived under a love potion…you know the problem so you can find a cure right?”
“Wrong” Hermione snapped, she closed her eyes and took a few deep breaths before continuing on as calmly as she could “There is only one other case like this”
“What happened?” Sundry asked.
“He’s dead” Hermione answered.
“What is the other case?” Norman asked.
“A man named Tom Riddle” Hermione answered “You would know him as Lord Voldemort”
