Hermione stood in front of the nearest mirror and looked at herself with a smile on her face. Her mother stood near her with tears in her eyes and her new little sisters were watching her happily. Her wedding gown hugged her shoulders and the sleeves were tight and went all the way to her wrist. The dress was a straight cut with a long train and there were soft pink and pale green butterflies that that flew around the bottom on the gown. Ginny had skillfully gave her an up-do that fit her curls perfectly.
“Hermione” Molly said “A magical tradition calls for anyone who wants to give you advice can and will before the ceremony”
“Okay” Hermione said sitting down near the window. Her wedding was taking place in a little clearing on a cliff overlooking the Black lake and just on the side of the Forbidden Forest in a little ‘bridal room’ that they had made for her.
When the staff heard that they moved the wedding date up they all did their separate things to make the day as perfect as possible. Professor Sprout gave her the most beautifully perfumed magical bouquet to carry with her and she decorated the outdoor aisle and the surrounding area. Flitwick charmed the chairs in to their spots while setting up charms to keep people from falling off the cliff. Between Flitwick, Dumbledore and McGonagall they’d turned the normal little clearing in to a beautiful winter wonderland. There was a bubble of warmth set around the place, a gazebo was erected and hung with wreaths. To the right of the gazebo where they would say their vows was an enclosed, frosted glass enclosure where the reception would be held and where the band would be playing.
“I think we’ve done a damn good job” Ginny said “In the time frame we had”
“Sorry about that” Hermione grinned.
“Got anything sexy to wear for tonight?” Ginny asked with a devilish grin “Something to make the Potions Masters’ stirring rod stand?”
“Oh my goodness, Ginerva!” Molly hissed “Get out, get out…people are waiting to give her advice”
“Hermione” Molly said as she sat down “Your mother has already given you advice, right?”
“Yes” She answered.
“So, it’s my turn” She smiled and wiped at her cheeks where there were tears tracks “Remember to never go to bed angry. Always forgive and never keep your thoughts or feelings secret and when you have your babies” She stopped to catch her breath and wipe more tears away and Hermione smiled and patted her knee “Always make time for them, love them completely and remember how precious life is”
“I will” Hermione said “Thank you, Molly” She waited while the red-haired mother figure left the room and then the tall and stoic looking Minerva McGonagall came in and sat down with her.
“Hermione” She said “You are brave to ever attempt to tame the untamable potions master. But then again he is brave to be marrying a lioness. I don’t have much to say that you don’t already know so I will just say; Don’t forget yourself and don’t allow him to ever try to change you” She hugged her gently so as not to rumple the dress “Now, if you’ll excuse me…I have to go threaten the groom”
Hermione laughed as the older woman left her bridal room. Throughout the next half an hour she saw numerous women from Andromeda Tonks to Narcissa Malfoy, Astoria Malfoy, Professor Sinistra, Luna Lovegood, Susan Longbottom, Augusta Longbottom and everyone in between. She was just getting ready to put on her wedding heels when there was another knock and she turned to see the ever eccentric Professor Trelawney walking in with a smile. Hermione couldn’t help but think ‘oh shit’ to herself before turning and smiling at the insane woman. She would admit (not aloud) that most of what the woman had predicted had come true but that didn’t mean that she liked her or the subject she taught.
“I had a vision” The woman said as she walked closer to Hermione “It was of the baby that will be conceived as Spring is born” She smiled dreamily at Hermione “A beautiful baby girl with black curls that Severus will love and treat like a little princess”
“Really?” Hermione asked her “How many will I have?”
“My gifts have not told me that yet” She smiled “But good luck Miss Granger. Your little girl will be lovely”
“Thank you” Hermione whispered as she walked away then while smiling she turned and looked in the mirror and found Tonks standing there looking at her nervously.
“Hey…Hermione” She said nervously “I wanted to…apologize about what I said about Severus. It’s true but, I didn’t need to tell you about it and I had no right to tell you what to do with your life and I should have just known that you would have made the best decision for you”
“No, Tonks” Hermione turned to look at her “I shouldn’t have told you…I was drunk though and he was too and…” Tonks nodded “It will never happen again”
“I know” Tonks said with a smile “I’ll break your fucking legs if it does” Hermione’s mouth dropped open “And I’m not even going to tell you what I’ll break on him if it does”
“Oh my” Hermione went back to her shoes.
“I’m kind of glad to know that someone else slept with him though” She said “Now, I can talk to someone about him and…you’ll know how it is”
“I was drunk” Hermione pointed out.
“Sex with Remus is not something one forgets” Tonks said and Hermione smiled slightly before saying.
“No…no it isn’t” They both laughed loudly before tapering off and Molly stuck her head back in telling her it was time.

Severus stood in his room in his black muggle suit, he had decided to pull his hair back to the nape of his neck. It was the best way to wear it and Hermione had never seen his hair like this before and he hoped that she would like it. He looked in the mirror and let out a breath that he’d just noticed he’d been holding. He heard a noise behind him and looked through the mirror to see Potter watching him closely. Harry offered a smile to the older man and slowly walked in and closing the door to address him. Snape sighed and leaned back, Lucius warned him that he was likely to get a lot of advice from other married men or men worrying about Hermione’s welfare.
“Hello, Potter” He greeted sitting down “If you are going to tell me to…”
“Shush” Harry said and the older man looked irritated but managed to not attack the little bastard “Snape, I don’t like you. I’ve never liked you and I know the feeling is mutual but I feel that you love Hermione and I know that she loves you. So don’t mess this up please, she deserves to be happy even if it’s with you” With that Harry turned and walked out.
“He didn’t stay long, huh?” Remus asked as he walked in the room “Okay, I was told that as a married man I am to give you advice. Here it is: Remember that everyone makes mistakes so try not to hold it against her if she makes one and she’ll do the same for you. I’m not going to say let her win all the fights because that’s not in your nature nor is it fair, however don’t let her leave the castle, the house or anywhere else, even if its just going to work, don’t let her leave angry” He smiled and tipped his head leaving him to his thoughts and the next person.
By the end of the half hour he’d been talked to by all sorts of people. Including one terrifying Minerva who threatened to castrate him if he treated her wrong and then…he was told it was time. He walked out to the gazebo and stood with Lucius standing behind him and the ministry official in front of him. The sun was setting over the lake and casting a beautiful red and orange light over the awaiting guests and then the music started up. Penny and Paige Granger (her new little sisters) came up spreading flowers over the ground dressed one in a light pink dress with pale green flowers on it and the other in a pale green dress with light pink flowers on it. The ‘wedding flowers’ adorned their pale golden hair in a crown and they were all smiles. Next came the ring-bearer with was a little Teddy Lupin who was following the girls as told and dressed in a black suit and turquoise colored hair.
Hermione was to come out next and all the guests stood up. This was not a normal magical wedding, which Lucius pointed out numerous times, but Hermione wanted a muggle-type wedding the best she could. When she was at the end of the aisle getting ready for her father to lead her up Severus felt as if his breath decided to take a vacation and he couldn’t stop the stupid grin that graced his features. She looked amazing and she was slowly gliding her way up to him, when she reached him she beamed at him and they both turned to the bored looking official.
“Hermione Jane Granger” The man said “You were given the choice by the Ministry of Magic to marry Severus Tobias Snape. Is that still your wish as you stand before me today?”
“Yes, it is still my wish” Hermione said with a glare and an added in “Duh” which made everyone laugh.
“Severus Tobias Snape” The man said with no emotion at all “You were given the choice to marry Hermione Jane Granger by the Ministry of Magic, is that still your wish as you stand before me today?”
“Obviously” He drawled with a sneer.
“I was told that you, Miss Granger wanted to say your own vows” He said “Go on”
“Okay” Hermione said “I know that this hasn’t been the easiest time for us nor has it been the way I have always wanted to get married. But to marry someone as intelligent and amazing as you’ve proven to be is something that any woman with a brain would want. I promise to be loving when you need me to be, caring when you want it and considerate of you always”
“Now” The official said “Mr. Snape” Hermione looked shocked, he never told her anything about saying his own vows. She had assumed that he would just say whatever the ministry official wanted him to say as a last ditch effort to show the ministry that he wasn’t agreeing to this marriage on his own terms…wow was she surprised.
“I am not the most approachable man or so I’ve been told” Severus said “But Hermione you’ve given me a chance to prove just what I can do. I promise to listen when you need to talk or vent, to be a shoulder for you to cry on when you need and I promise to be the best husband I can be for you” Hermione looked away and wiped a few tears away that his vow had caused.
“As a ministry official” The man said “I bond these this witch and this wizard in matrimony and the ministry recognizes this couple” He waved his wand over their joined hands and magic settled in to their skin making it tingle “Ladies and Gentlemen” He said to the guests “I give you the newly bonded couple, Severus and Hermione Snape”
There was applause as the couple leaned in and kissed for the first time as a married couple. Then they turned and looked at their friends and family members. He took her hand and they walked down the aisle and then the guests followed them in to the area where the reception was held. They sat at the head table and waited while the other tables were filled. The food that the house-elves had made appeared on the table and everyone dug in, there was conversation and laughter. Severus graced Hermione with a rarely seen smile as he poured her a glass of wine and then looked at the rings on their hands and raised his eyebrows before looking back at their friends. Hermione looked at Ginny who was watching her with smile on her face and then over at her mother who was feeding the baby in her arms and occasionally smiling at her baby girl. There was the dinging of someone hitting the side of their glass with a knife to get everyone’s attention.
“Everyone” Ron said “I dated Hermione when we were in school. She is a pain in the ass and a complete nerd but she had a wonderful heart and gorgeous mind” She blushed and mouthed over ‘thank you’ “Good luck with that nagging though, Snape” Everyone laughed even Hermione after she stuck her tongue out at him.
“My turn” Harry said “I love you Hermione and I hope that you are ready for the grueling world of marriage as it is not an easy one. You will be great at it just like you are at everything that you do and Snape” He looked at him “Treat her right and she will always have your back”
There were more speeches and by the end of it Hermione was in tears. When the food was consumed the music started again and the tables moved to the sides of the room. Hermione and Severus went to the middle of the room and shared the first dance of the night, they danced a few more and then sat down to take on personal conversations with their friends. Occasionally he would look at her with a smile and then they would go back to their own personal conversations. But another dinging sound brought their attention back to the middle of the room where Sirius Black was standing.
“I never got to say anything during the speeches” He said “Everyone knows that I hate Severus but I really love Hermione. She is the most amazing woman I have met in ages and I hope that my future bride will be as amazing and I can be as happy as I hope you two will be” Everyone said their awes and clapped but he motioned for them to be quiet again “With this in mind it came to my attention that because Hermione and Sniv…Snape moved the wedding up so quickly that they will not have a honeymoon because they were unable to make the plans…”
“They can go back to her house and work on repopulating the wizarding world!” Draco called up and everyone laughed and Hermione hid her red face.
“Anyway” Sirius went on after laughing “I just so happen to own a beautiful little one bedroom house in Hawaii that I would let you borrow…” He held up the key with a smile and Hermione shot up.
“Are you…” She said “Are you sure?”
“Of course” He said “If Albus is okay with Snape taking time off”
“We’ve still got two weeks before the students come back” Snape said “Thank you, Black”
“We’ll only take a week” Hermione said “That way we can have Christmas here with friends and family and still get ready for next term”
“Whatever makes you happy” Sirius said rolling his eyes “When you leaving?”
“Tomorrow” Hermione said “I don’t feel like apparating tonight”
“She’d rather be riding…” Draco started but Lucius put his hand over his mouth and smiled at Hermione who glared over.
“Thank you, Lucius” She said. Everyone laughed and went back to the party that was still in full swing.
A/N: So, next chapter will have the long awaited for wedding night! But I won’t be following them on their honeymoon so it will skip past that week and we will visit it in memories. Okay? I hope you liked this.
