Chapter 23
--
Raithos’ eyes sparkled gleefully. “He told you everything?”
“Yes, My Lord,” Snape said, bowing his head.
“Well just for that, Severus, I’ll ignore the little display
of disrespect earlier. Co, we’ve got to
get to the owlrey and contact Lucius.
He needs to perform the spell.
Severus can’t go missing, we have to make sure in these next few weeks
that Dumbledore suspects nothing, so Lucius will have to come to us. Severus, meet us in our room in twenty
minutes. We’ll discuss the details of
the plan then.”
“Yes, My Lord.”
--
After making their trip to owl Lucius, with instructions to
come to Hogwarts as soon as possible, Draco and Raithos settled themselves in
their room to wait for Snape. After a
few minutes of talking about Dumbledore, conversation turned to the Weasley
family plan.
“So do we go along with it?
Or do we just take them all out now?”
Draco mused.

Raithos looked thoughtful for a moment, considering all the
options available to them.
“Go along with it.
You can take care of yourself, you could take them all out on your own
if they tried to hurt you. And this
way, we’ll have a nice cushy little reason for the new Minister to sentence
their arses to Azkaban.”
“Ha! A gaggle of
red-heads all in a cell.”
“Exactly. We’ll just
let you be caught alone by Seamus soon, and then I’ll come rushing in playing
the foolhardy hero to your rescue. Then
we’ll play good little citizens and bring in the Ministry. Now that will be some nice press, don’t you
think?”
Draco smiled. His
little protégé was really something now.
“You’ve become downright sneaky, Raith.
I’m so proud.”
Raithos smiled back, and shifted closer to Draco on the
couch, putting his face only an inch or two from the blonde.
“Don’t you think I deserve a reward for good behavior,
Co?” He purred.
Draco reached up to entangle a hand in Raithos’ hair.
“More like you deserve a punishment for being quite the
juvenile delinquent,” he whispered, leaning in for what promised to be a very
heated kiss.
They were interrupted by a knock at the door. Both teens groaned in frustration and
Raithos laid his head against Draco’s chest.
“Bloody git has the worst timing of anyone I’ve ever met!”
he grumbled before sitting up. “Enter,
Severus,” he called.
Snape walked in and sat down across from the two
leaders. “My Lord, it was the Prophet
article. The last straw, so to
speak. He told me everything. Everything you saw in his mind, and
more. You know most of the story, from
the point he kidnapped your mother. He
began before that, however. It all
started after he defeated Grindewald.”
“That long?” Draco asked, shocked.
“Yes, that long.
That was when he got his first real taste of power. Everyone thought he was the hero then. However, after a few years, the worshipping
stopped. Yes, everyone still respected
him, but the power that came along with it was no longer there. He wanted it back. He devised a plan to create a new dark lord, one that he could defeat. Only after this defeat, he would be sure to
take advantage of the worship and thanks, by maneuvering his way into
power. He wanted to rule Britain.”
“I assume things got a little out of hand with that plan,”
Raithos said scathingly. He couldn’t
believe the depth of the deception that was Albus Dumbledore. The man was truly despicable. “Go on.”
“Yes, it did. You
see, Albus wanted to control more than just the wizarding world. That is why he is so pro-muggles. He wants to control them as well. More mudblood and half-blood witches and
wizards he let into this school meant more followers, subjects. Fifty-some years ago, he felt the power Tom
Riddle released when he was born. He
knew that Riddle had the potential to be the dark lord he needed for his
plans. So he manipulated Riddle Sr. and
had Tom sent to that muggle orphanage.
He also made sure that Tom was mistreated there, much in the same way
you were, My Lord. When Tom arrived at
Hogwarts, Dumbledore did everything he could to make it seem he didn’t trust
the boy, while in secret making sure Tom had access to literature on the Dark
Arts.”
“He pushed Tom to the Dark.
He made sure that no one from the other houses befriended him, that
Slytherin was his only sanctuary. Dumbledore
created Lord Voldemort, didn’t he?” Raithos asked.
Snape nodded, and continued. “He made sure Tom hated muggles with a passion. Who wouldn’t after all they’d done to
him? You hate them too. So Tom went out after Hogwarts and began to
recruit followers. What Dumbledore did
not expect, however, was for him to gain so much power through the Dark
Arts. Dumbledore still believes himself
a Light wizard, and has never touched the stuff. So when Tom came back as Lord Voldemort, Dumbledore knew he had
overplayed his hand. He couldn’t defeat
the Dark Lord he’d created.
“Then Tom married Lorelai.
And Dumbledore saw his chance.
He kidnapped her while she was pregnant with you. You know that story, he needed you to defeat
him. So he manipulated your life in
much the same way he did Tom’s. And
again, he underestimated you, and overestimated himself. The letters to the Weasley’s, to Granger, to
Hagrid, all were a part of his plan to make sure you didn’t follow your fathers
footsteps. He encouraged the rivalry
between you and Draco because he thought it would keep you far away from the
Dark Arts. He encouraged anti-Slytherin
sentiments for the same reason. And you
know the rest,” Snape finally finished.
Draco was stunned.
“The man could have been in Slytherin if not for his foolishness.”
Raithos nodded mindlessly.
He was sitting with his elbows on his knees, hands clenched under his
chin, trying desperately to control his anger.
He hadn’t even been this angry when he’d obliviated the old fool. He shut his eyes, willing all thought from
his head.
Draco noticed the tightly controlled posture of the teen
sitting next to him. He could tell
Raithos was furious. “Sev, perhaps you
should leave. Lucius should be here
tomorrow to record the conversation from your mind. We will see you then,” he said, as quietly as he could. Snape looked at him with wide eyes and
nodded, already making his way out the door.
Draco moved so he was kneeling in front of Raithos. He tentatively placed his hands on Raithos’
arms, sliding them upwards to cover the other teen’s.
“Love, you need to calm down,” he began, speaking just above
a whisper. “You’ll hurt yourself or me
if you don’t,” he continued, still clasping Raithos’ hands tightly.
Raithos opened his eyes and looked into the gray ones before
him. He let out a long breath,
attempting to control himself.
“I’m just so angry.
He didn’t just ruin my life, Co, he forced my father to be the monster
he was all those years. He took away
any chance either of us had at a normal life,” he said through clenched
teeth.
Draco sighed and moved closer to Raithos, kneeling between
his legs and wrapping his arms around his waist. Raithos was tense for a few moments before returning the embrace
and burying his face into Draco’s shoulder.
“I know. And he’ll
pay. We’ve seen to that.”
--
The next day was a busy one. Lucius showed up in his son’s room at seven o’clock in the
morning, to a view of his son he’d never seen before, and one he wasn’t eager
to witness again. After a stern lecture
about knocking before entering a room, and another one about using stronger
locking charms, he, Draco, and Raithos made their way to Snape’s quarters. Where they were met with another shocking
view. Apparently, all the comforting
Severus had been doing for Remus had turned into something else. While Lucius and Draco were a bit disturbed
by the sight Raithos could not keep himself from breaking out into hysterical
laughter. Another lecture was given,
minus the one about entering a room before knocking, because Severus couldn’t
bring himself to lecture the Dark Prince on anything anymore.
After the recording spell was done, Lucius set off to the
Ministry to reveal the contents to Minister Zabini. Raithos gave a stern order to Remus to come see him later before
again breaking out into laughter. Draco
finally had to drag him out of the room and proceed to shag him senseless to
get him to stop.
They had talked to Seamus a few minutes before dinner was to
be served and planned out Draco’s capture for later that evening. Draco would be walking back from Snape’s
office and Seamus would have the opportunity to stun him. Well, to pretend to stun him. Raithos made clear in no uncertain terms
what would happen if Seamus were to actually cast a spell on his lover.
Dinner itself was a light affair, the events of the day
putting the two teens in a wonderful mood.
Blaise brought up the subject of Christmas, which was just about a month
away. Apparently his family was
throwing a huge party to celebrate his father’s appointment as Minister.
“Speaking of, what do you want for Christmas, love?” Raithos asked Draco.
Draco looked thoughtful.
“Hmm, I could use some more clothes…”
“What?! You have all
the clothes you could possibly need!
Plus all of mine that you insist on stealing!” Raithos returned with a
scandalized look.
“I guess…ooh, maybe I’ll get you some clothes!” Draco
said gleefully, mentally planning out a brand new wardrobe.
“Right, so you can go and steal them later. You’re hopeless, you know?”
“Maybe, but you love me anyway.”
Raithos smiled slightly, glancing sideways at Draco. “Yes…I suppose I do. Prat.”
The rest of the seventh years just looked on with pride and
a little disbelief. They still couldn’t
quite wrap their minds around the fact that this happy, gushy couple was the
Dark Prince and his Chosen. It was all
too much to take.
--
Later that night, around ten-thirty, Draco was in the
dungeons with Seamus.
“Alright, go ahead and levitate me. But no stunning! I’ll be a nice little prisoner and play
unconscious for you, but there will be hell to pay if a single stupefy is sent
in my direction.”
Seamus gulped audibly.
“Yes, I know. I won’t.”
Seamus then proceeded to levitate Draco and take him to the
Shrieking Shack where he owled all the members of the Weasley family. Molly and Arthur were there first, followed
by the twins. Then Percy, Bill, and
Charlie. Ginny and Ron were the last to
show, because they couldn’t just apparate in like the rest of them.
Ginny walked up to Seamus and threw here arms around his
neck. “Wonderful job! I knew having you as a part of this
plan would be beneficial.”
Ron snorted at here.
“It was my idea, remember?”
“Yes, well anyway,” Molly interrupted. “I’ve sent the owl to the Son, he should be
here any minute! Everyone into
position.”
The Weasleys grouped by the door to the Shack, wands ready,
just waiting for Raithos to enter.
--
Raithos was sitting on his bed, waiting for the owl to be
delivered. He truly couldn’t believe
the stupidity of the Weasley family.
However, he supposed that it was a very Gryffindor plan to come up
with. In fact, before the previous
summer, he probably would have thought it was brilliant. There was a reason Gryffindors weren’t known
for their cunning.
A tiny, hyper owl flew into the bedroom and did circles
around his head.
Raithos snorted. ‘They
aren’t even smart enough not to use their own owl!’
He grabbed the owl, ripped off the letter, and threw the
bird towards the door.
Potter,
We have him. If
you ever want to see him again, come to the Shrieking Shack alone.
Raithos snorted again.
‘Well, that was effective.’
He got up and made his way to the door, looking forward to disposing
himself of the thorn in his side that was the Weasleys.
--
“I think I hear someone!”
“Sounds like running…”
“It’s got to be him!”
“Alright everyone, wands ready…”
Raithos came crashing in through the door and ran right to
the middle of the room, not even bothering to look behind him. He knew the Weasleys were at his back, and
they could not see the self-satisfied grin on his face. They also couldn’t see the reflecting shield
he’d put up before crashing loudly through the passageway. Each spell they sent at him would be
reflected back onto its caster.
“Stupefy!”
“Expelliarmus!”
“Petrificus Totalus!”
Raithos laughed as he turned around, hand out to stun any remaining
conscious Weasleys. “You really are a
bunch of fools, aren’t you. Did you
honestly expect me to fall for that pathetic little plan of yours? Ah well.
It’s quite a shame you all had to be so stubborn. I’m afraid it’ll be off to Azkaban for you. The Minister of Magic himself will be along
any second to cart you all away for kidnapping, assault, and attempted
murder. Because that is what you had
planned, isn’t it?”
Just as he finished that sentence, Santino Zabini apparated
in, along with the new Chief Auror, Phillip Parkinson, Pansy’s father. Goyle and Crabbe Sr. were also there, aurors
themselves now.
“Take them all into custody,” Zabini said. “They’ll be put to trial together in a few
hours, three eye-witnesses will be enough to put them away for life.”
“Three eye-witnesses?
You have one! And no one will
believe him! He’s the son of a
traitorous, lying, bastard!” Molly
Weasley shouted. She gasped when Draco
got up, obviously not stunned, and took his place at Raithos’ side. She gasped again when Seamus moved to stand
behind the two.
“Seamus?” Ron said unbelievingly. “You…you traitor!”
“No Ron, not a traitor.
Just following what I believe is right,” Seamus answered strongly.
Raithos stood up and reached out to shake Zabini’s hand.
“Minister, thank you.
It’s a relief knowing these people will be safely behind bars where they
can’t harm us anymore. They’ve been
plaguing us all year, you know,” he said, a deceptively innocent expression on
his face.
Santino Zabini smiled.
“Yes, My Lord. I am pleased to
have been able to serve you.”
The Weasley family paled.
They had no chance. They were
done for.
--
Much later that night, Raithos and Draco returned to their
room after a relatively speedy trial.
The entire Weasley family had been shipped off to Azkaban with a life
sentence. Since Lord Voldemort was
controlling the dementors, they had no chance of escape. Minister Zabini had released all the
captured Death Eaters as is first order of business as minister, and Voldemort
had agreed to return the dementors to Azkaban, since it was now basically under
his control.
“That was so very entertaining, don’t you think?” Draco
asked as they climbed wearily into bed.
“Mhmm. But I can
think of something even more entertaining,” Raithos whispered, moving
closer to the blonde.
“Oh really,” Draco whispered back, before sliding his lips
against his lover’s, and his hands up his back. He rolled over on top of Raithos, sliding his tongue against
his lover’s, hands gliding over a bare chest, so divinely chiseled with taught
muscles. “Had yourself a good time
tonight then?” He purred. “I love it
when you get all powerful, you look like some kind of dark god,” Draco
whispered, in between kisses down that glorious chest to stop at silk pajama
bottoms. “And then I think about the
fact that this dark god is mine, and I just go crazy,” he continued, as
he drew the silk down, away from his prize.
“I’m the only one you do this for…give up any control for,” he
whispered, letting his breath ghost across the sensitive length in front of
him. “Do you know how much of a turn on
that is?” He licked the underside with
his tongue, ripping a strangled moan from Raithos’ throat.
Draco slid up the body beneath him to gaze into emerald
green eyes clouded with lust and love.
“Mine” he whispered again.
Neither teen got much sleep that night.
