Author�s Note: Well here�s the next installment
of the story, I hope that everyone was pleased with the way things
worked out. It is true that when a wolf is in aggressive mode and it�s
the alpha the ears and tail will remain standing, a sign that they mean
business. As for the other wolf pack, well you might say that they�re
waiting in the wings�for something.

Severus cursed his robes as he heard yet another rip as he
struggled to keep up with Hermione. He didn�t know even why she
hadn�t attacked him when she�d had the chance. Every werewolf that
he�d ever come into contact with was aggressive and willing to attack
anything that moved. Severus felt his gut clench as he thought of
Hermione saving him from Remus� attack.


Severus sighed and finally took off his robes. He bundled them
together and cursed as in the process of tying the bundleetheether he
dropped it. Severus bent down and was about to pick up the bundle when
he saw the wet drops of blood on a patch of leaves. �Hermione what are
you up to?� Severus whispered under his breath as he touched the
blood. He shook himself mentally and grabbed his bundle and broke into a
run. He had the uncomfortable feeling that Hermione was hunting, his
only question was what.


Hermione grimanced and she felt her muzzle wrinkle as her
shoulder twinged with every stride. Remus had scored a direct hit,
probably had hit some muscles. Hermione sent up a prayer of thanks that
he hadn�t gotten the bone otherwise she wouldn�t be even able to
walk.

Hermione ignored it and
continued to soak in the nights� essence. The ground beneath the pads
of her paws was moist and felt delisious as her paws sunk into it. Her
sensitive nose drank in the smells of the other outcast creatures that
roamed the forest. She sometimes thought that she could see the flashes
of Unicorns running away but she couldn�t be sure. Hermione relished
being in this form. It gave her a sense of freedom that she had never
experienced before, it was even better than flying.

Hermione slid to a halt as she reached the edge of the forest.
Without the forest to hide her she couldn�t run, she would have to be
stealthy. She inhaled and listened. She could hear Harry and Ron talking
and their footsteps as they walked back towards the castle as the dinner
bell rang. Hermione snarled as she cursed the fact that she hadn�t
figured into the interruption that dinner presented. Hermione shook
herself as she racked her brain for a solution to the problem. As her
fur settled back down Hermione smiled as the answer came to her.

Severus barely covered the
gasp as he watched from his hiding spot as Hermione exposed all of her
teeth. He would have called it a smile if it didn�t look so much like
a sign of further aggression. Her canines exposed each looked to be
about a foot in length, each a perfect tool for ripping out throats or
hamstringing her victim. Severus pulled out his wand and suppressed a
sigh at what he was going to have to do. He was about to flick his wand
when the tip was snapped off. He looked at his broken wand to the large
red wolf sitting in front of him, the end of his wand hanging out the
side of its mouth like a cigarette.

Hermione whirled around as
she heard a snap. She growled low as she saw Severus standing there a
surprised expression on his pale face, and the alpha female sitting with
her back facing Hermione. �Fuck it.� Hermione thought and broke into
a run, her legs becoming a blur of motion as she raced towards the lake.
he che could clean up the blood from her fur and hide her trail, maybe
she couldn�t be tracked again.

Severus� head shot up as
he heard a low growl. He swallowed as he saw that he was the focus of
Hermiones� gaze. Just as sudden as she was there she was gone, running
off, her direction unknown as she disappeared from his sight. He looked
towards where the red wolf was and only saw the impressions from where
it�s paws had been.

Severus swore as he looked
around to discover that he had followed Hermione all the way around the
forest to the north side where the castle was still visible and within
walking distance. He heard the final gong of the dinner bell and
wondered what the hell Hermione was up to. He sighed and bent down and
grabbed the tip of his wand and hurried in the direction he had seen
Hermione go.

Sorry its so short but I
haven�t really had to much time to write so better short then none at
all right? No I haven�t given up on this story, so don�t worry the
chapters will keep coming.
