Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
AN: To everyone that made note for me, I've figured out that my little Dell, a used laptop that I bought until I can afford a good one, is the culprit in the bad formatting problem. Anna lets me upload them at her house now, so no more huge one paragraph updates, Yeah!
Dark_Catalest: thanks, I fixed it(see above).
Kira123456: As you can see, he joins with enthusiasm.
darkestmagic: We're getting there. Bet you thought he was done, huh?
Anon: I live to please. Susie is a stablizer, as well as a creature I love. Read about them in an Anne McCaffrey novel.
Morbid_and_Sexy: Oh, I expect he will, have lots that is. But, Draco cannot be carrying three(See notes on Veela) Thanks.
SilverLion: *Staggers back*
hotflower901: Let the fucking commence, I say.
gobert: I'll try to keep on.
unneeded: The money from his mates is not in Harry's accounts, because that might get people suspicious. They will all help out in their own way, and Harry's finances will get a boost or two, but that will come. How could you forget Cedric? Have you forgotten anyone else?
Kira123456: Very interesting undertaking. I've read it a few times, but that was for edit, and I still want to go back and change a few things. I'll do my best to keep up.
thrnbrooke: I've lost a few nights sleep reading a story and I never thought I'd have that status for another. I'm honored.
tkykitty: Ah, interesting idea. Not all of Harry's sibs know each other, either. Roger's entrance must wait though, for this is Cedric's chapter. Roger and Fleur is interesting, because she did know. I'll be careful with Susie, don't you worry. If you read my stories, I should tell you that one is a collaboration, and Anna gets half credit. Maybe you should read her's, too. Like you needed that, huh? If you do read one, like "How do you like it?" , and you review, tell her Bob sent you.
jujukitty: I think it's kinda funny how many reviewers I'm getting with kitty in their names, but you'll soon see why. Thanks for the review, I'm trying to keep everyone in character, even when doing something that might go against theirs, so your words are like a cheering section for my efforts.
Okay, so that was a lot of review responses, I wonder if it's more that I've taken so long to update, or if you are all really enjoying this one that much?
On to the story!
Chapter Twenty-three: Just Lion Around The House
Raising a Cross-bred child, or how to house an elfling
Young are similar in most lines, but the similarities are mostly outward. In most cases, cross bred children do not resemble their parents until they reach the age of breeding, or creature puberty. This can also be called acheiving their inheritance, though it is not the same from creature to creature. Until they are of age, some breeds do require special treatment and this can only be accomplished in the home of their parent or another of similar kind, or line. Many children must be removed from a parent, when they are still young, because the parent is deemed unable to care for this special child. Usually, this is due to faulty creature blood in the birth parent, loss of the creature parent, or instability of the creature line in the ways of nurturing(see faerie lines).
Harry paced nervously on the afternoon of Cedric's visit, then bathed and dressed and waited for the other man's arrival. They had all been planning a lovely dinner for the entire group. Mizzy and Kreacher had joined forces to clean and cook for the event along with another elf that had been at Hogwarts for two years, but only recently adjusted to her freedom. Dobby had asked Harry to let Winky work in his home and Harry had accepted her. She was currently pregnant, and no one could find out which elf was the father of her unborn child.
All of the mates were assembled in the parlor when Cedric arrived. He stepped lightly out of the floo, as elegant and smooth as he had landed from the portkey he'd shared with the Weasleys at the start of Harry's fourth year.
"Well, hello." he said a bit nervously.
"Here now. No making our guest jittery. Come on, let's sit down and have a nice visit." Susan said with a scowl, to which Draco leaned over and whispered in Harry's ear.
"Female problems?" and Harry elbowed him gently.
"Leave her alone. Come in, Cedric. You know everyone, don't you?" Harry asked. "Sorry, for the odd greeting, but they would need to know, if they'll be sharing . . . things with you."
"Sharing isn't a problem for my breed, Harry. But, I can't wait much longer. I'm a bit old for a first litter." Cedric said with a crooked, and appealing smile. Harry's mouth went dry and his pants got tight. He shifted slightly, and was about to speak, when Blaise cleared his throat and Draco stood.
"I think we should all go see how close dinner is, while Harry and Diggory work this out. I, for one, am not ready to be a witness to what they decide. Come on, Finnigan. Let's go." and before anyone could protest, he pulled Shea to his feet and led the group out. Oliver patted Cedric on the back and whispered a welcome before he brought up the rear, kissing Harry as he passed.
"The air is thick with it, Harry. Go ahead." he said into the Chameleonis' mouth, then the two were alone.
"Well, this is familiar." Cedric said with a smirk.
"Not so. We were usually in the back room of Madame Puddifoot's. This is my home and those aren't disinterested patrons, they're my mates." Harry corrected.
"A charming group. Quite diversified and the cream of the crop. Do I fit in somewhere?" Cedric said.
"You're certainly charming. But that isn't really a qualification. I am attracted to you. I think those, what you called, 'conversations' proved that. But, do I want you as a mate?" Harry had advanced on the other during this and was now just out of reach. "What are you, Cedric Diggory? What would I be getting myself into? I know you have to be from one of the feline or canine breeds, or you wouldn't have used the term litter, but I already have the children of a Veela on the way, so I'm not sure I can handle that." Harry took another step forward, and Cedric held his ground. "What are you, Cedric? Tell me." he whispered. The Hufflepuff let out a breathy gasp, feeling his hairs stand on end and his body quivered. "Show me, so I can see you in all your glory."
"Harry . . ." Cedric groaned, "I-I'd need some room," he moaned. Harry waved the holly wand and the furniture flowed to the walls. The wizard space expanded and the room doubled in size, width as well as height. Cedric lowered his head and dropped to all fours. His back arched and a tail flowed out, thickening as his midsection did, growing to twice his size as it developed a thick hyde of coarse cream-colored fur. His front paws were as thick as Harry's waist and his shoulders were taller than the other wizard. He sat on his haunches and his head was above where the ceiling would have been. He leaned down and a pink tongue reached out to swipe at Harry's cheek, licking him with a coarse scrub along his ear.
"Spectacular!" Harry gasped, reaching out to pet the most beautiful Sphynx he could ever imagine. "If anyone knew, they'd take you away from me and I'd lose you before I had a chance." His words were a whispered prayer as he burried his face in the fur along Cedric's Sphynx shoulder. "You're mine!" Harry growled. "Mine!" he added, as he drank in the musky scent and his body reacted. He could feel himself expanding, but it was not like the Chimeara form. He swelled and grew, never losing knowledge of who he was or what he wanted. He was soon larger than the other, a mane of soft flowing black surrounding his shoulders and back, his body as sleek as a panther's. He was longer, leaner than Cedric and yet larger and more powerful, like a jaguar, and his first urge was to dominate this smaller, thicker, beast.
He felt rather than thought about biting onto Cedric's neck, hauling him to the floor and on his back. The lighter cat went down, adopting a submissive pose and giving him full access to its neck. Harry was so thrilled that he could feel himself swell in arousal. He wanted this and he wanted it now. He allowed the submissive Sphynx enough space to roll onto its belly, its tail pulling aside to let him mount. He crawled onto Cedric's back, but he wanted more. He released the bite on Cedric's neck and licked it, continuing up the curve of jaw and coaxing his mate to turn his way. Cedric followed, looking up to find Harry smiling at him. "Mine." he said more softly than before and Cedric smiled and nodded.
"Yours and only yours." he said and Harry kissed him. His kiss was the only warning his body gave before he speared his newest mate, entering roughly, like his first time with Blaise, but not without first casting his silent spells. He wanted this mate, but the litter would wait until Draco was farther along and he was sure of his Veela mate's health and ability to handle his pregnancy. Cedric didn't seem to notice, though he keened into Harry's mouth as his body was breached. He arched his back, throwing himself further onto Harry's cock and drawing the dominant deeper into his body. He shifted his hips from side to side, moving in a way that seemed to teeter on the edge of excitement and sending waves of pleasure to his mate.
"Ah, Cedric. Ah, Love. Do that some more!" Harry called out, panting as he moved, thrusting into the body below him and spreading kisses and nibbles all over the neck, shoulder and face of his newest mate. He felt complete, whole, like he'd never felt before. He knew, without a doubt that this was right. This was needed. He moved faster and Cedric froze below him, shuddering in what had to be release, without any other stimulation than his body being inside of the sub, and that brought him to a growling, hissing climax, shaking the walls and floor of the parlor with its power. They collapsed together, shrinking back and breathing hard, laying in the middle of the rug in a sated heap.
"Well, now that was a magnificent and Earth-shattering experience." Came a voice from the door and the two lovers looked up to see Draco standing in the open portal with two cloaks over his arm. "And as much of a fan as I am of post-coital cuddling, dinner is nearly ready and you may want to clean up first. It falls to me to help Diggory chose a room and settle in, so here Harry. Cover up and go wash the smell of cat off of yourself, while I help our new brother to the stairs. I imagine he'll have a time walking after that."
Harry looked a bit sheepish, until he caught his Veela's words. "Since when are you a fan of cuddling?"
Draco smirked at him and tossed a cloak his way. He took the other and draped it over Cedric, waving a wand to gather the clothes in separate piles. Cedric's he levitated ahead of them and Harry's he left for the house-elves. "I suppose these will require some repairs. You look to be about the same size as Wood, so he's gone to fetch you something to wear. The Weasley twins are too lanky for you and I am too thin, for now. This way." and he helped the Sphynx to his feet, a last thought crossing his mind. "Have you filled your quota for Hufflepuffs now, Harry? Oh, I mean mates." and they exited before the Chameleonis could answer.
"Cuddling? Who'd have thought?" Harry said as he rose, gathered up his ruined clothes and went to follow, reaching the fourth floor as he saw them disappear behind the door across from his own. "So, you're putting him this close to me, eh? Is there a reason for that, Draco?" Harry whispered to himself, rushing to shower and dress.
In a short time, with the aid of a few drying charms and a pressing spell on his robes, Harry made his way downstairs to the dining room where he found his seven mates, Luna not being home from school, seated around the table, conversing softly and in civil tones. He stepped into the room, half expecting them to stop and notice him, only to find that they continued on, nodding to him as he caught their eye on his way to his seat at the head of the table.
Oliver was waiting in the room when Draco opened the door. He held a bundle of clothing in his hand and reached out to give it to Cedric. The Hufflepuff smiled in response and looked at the two other mates. "Sorry, if I'm making things more crowded."
"Crowded? In this house? Don't be ridiculous." Oliver said with a smile and a friendly pat on the shoulder.
"Of course, this place is going to get crowded, once the babies start coming along, but for now . . . " Draco said indicating the large room to the other wizard. "Make yourself comfortable and relax. We'll wait the meal for you, so best get that shower, eh?"
"Right, we'll wait downstairs," Oliver stammered and headed out the door. As he left, Draco followed, but Cedric called to him before he was out of sight.
"Malfoy? I wanted to ask . . . "
"Yes, Diggory?" Draco said with a bit of a sarcastic tone.
"Are you really alright with this? I mean, I'm like a interloper in your little piece of life." Cedric looked ashamed and Draco rolled his eyes.
"If anyone makes you feel that way, you tell me immediately!" the blond took a deep breath and stepped closer. "Look, we don't know how this works, any of us, but come on. A Chameleonis? They're more rare than any of us. Even you. We'll take things slow, get to know each other, and meld together. One big happy family. Oh, and no using Hogwarts houses to identify. Harry was a bit vehement. He rarely puts his feet down, you know."
"Right. Okay, no house titles. Can I ask another question?" Draco nodded and Cedric looked around. "What are you? What creature. I've never heard of the Malfoys being among the crossed lines."
"That's because we don't publicize every thing about ourselves. My father was Veela, my sisters are Veela, and I am Veela." Draco announced proudly. "Now, I have a question." Cedric leaned against the dresser and waited. "How are you still standing? I mean, Potter is well endowed, even as a mere man, but what I just. . . what you . . . That was huge!"
"Oh." Cedric smiled and looked down. "Practice." he said before rising and grabbing a towel, slipping off to the bathroom and closing the door. Draco threw up his hands, rolled his eyes and shook his head.
Cedric walked down the hall from the stairs, listening to the sounds of his new family in the dining room. He blushed furiously when he heard Malfoy say, "Rutting like hippogryphs. It was ghastly, Potter."
Harry defended himself admirably, "If they'd walked in on you and I, they might have a similar thing to say. Don't be so dramatic, Draco. And what happened to you calling me by my first name?"
"You meant in front of other people?" Malfoy countered.
'These are our family, not just people. And what would be wrong with that?" Harry smirked. Cedric could hear it in his voice. "I want you to call me Harry. All the time."
"Oh, for Merlin's sake. Fine. Harry. And I'm not dramatic."
"I thought it was an apt description." Cedric said as he entered and took one of the open seats. "I rather like the idea of rutting, though I haven't got the temperament of a hippogryph."
"No, just a big kitten, that's you." Susan smiled.
"Kitten? A bloody lion." Malfoy sneered, but Cedric felt no heat in his voice. "And rutting is the perfect term."
Dinner was delicious, a five course extravaganza that all three elves worked together on, then the family retired for the night. Harry followed his mates to the stairs, knowing that he had to decide where he would sleep, and thinking that he might just go to his own room this time.
As his harem split up, moving to their various rooms, Draco nudged him on his way, leaning close and whispering, "Veela aren't the only creature with special bonding needs." before he continued on toward his own room, at the end of the second floor hall. The doors to the twins, Oliver and Blaise's rooms were already closed, so Harry continued on to the third floor.
Susan pushed him on as she led Seamus to his room, never letting him turn to look back, and Harry climbed that final flight. Cedric was just entering his own room and Harry meandered down the hall to his door, watching the Hufflepuff slip inside and close the door behind himself. Harry went to his room and changed into his pajamas, brushed his hair and teeth, then stood for a bit, listening to the sounds around him. He found his book and leafed through it, looking at the chapter that covered his new mate, but there was nothing. He threw it onto the chair where he'd left his clothes while changing and a pamphlet fell to the floor.
It looked like a muggle brochure, "How to raise your new kitten" it said and Harry flipped through it. A smile filled his face.
Once the house was quiet, Harry closed his door and knocked on the room across the hall. The door opened and Cedric stood in the doorway in a pair of silky blue boxers. "Harry?" he said.
"I think I need to stay with you tonight." Harry answered him.
"I was afraid that you would go to one of the others. They said there was a schedule and I didn't know if I was . . . if I was. . ."
"I know abut the Sphynx courtship. I'm here for you." Harry said, placing a hand on the Hufflepuff's cheek and rubbing his thumb along the skin. "I'll stay with you . . . all night."
"Oh, Harry!" Cedric took seconds to jump into Harry's arms, his weight surprisingly light and Harry stepped forward into the room, closing the door behind him with a crook of his ankle. Inside, he found himself holding a large makerel tabby, small in comparison to Cedric's normal size, but larger than Crookshanks had ever been. He sat on the bed and petted it, loving the feel of its soft fur under his fingers and the buzzing of its throat against his arm.
"I wonder if you have a special name for this transformation. I'm going to call you Cressida, in honor of the True and Noble House of Black, okay?" and the cat purred even louder. They sat that way for some fifteen minutes, before Harry put Cressida onto the bed and stood back. The cat elongated and stretched until the man was once more in its place, looking up at his mate with a worried expression. "Beautiful."
"I like that name. I've never had one for that form, before. I call the Sphynx 'Oberon', so I think it fits. I have one other, but I'd like to wait to show you. I call that one 'Titannia'." Cedric looked shy and Harry smiled.
"I'll wait for you to be ready. Thank you, Cedric." Harry stripped off his pajamas, watching Cedric as he did. The Sphynx' eyes watched him with a look of longing, his features soft and he followed Harry's hands as each piece of clothing fell to the floor.
When Harry was naked, he crawled onto the bed and took hold of the waistband of Cedric's boxers, sliding them down his body and adding them to the pile on the side of the bed. Cedric's cock sprang up to meet him, rising from a nest of soft brown curls.
"Beautiful," Harry repeated, running his tongue from the base to the tip, swirling it around the glans, that was fully unsheathed for him, and dipping it into the tiny slit. Cedric's moan was music to a dominant's ear and drove the Chameleonis on. Soon the Sphynx was thrashing and groaning, begging for release, for more . . to be taken by his mate.
Harry obliged.
Not the forceful entrance from earlier, but a soft and careful preparation, followed by cautious and well aimed thrusts and body peppering kisses, licks and nips. Cedric responded lustily and soon both had reached their climax. Harry cleaned them with a conjured cloth, tossed it to the floor for the elves to clean up and curled up behind his lover. He spooned up to Cedric's back and his mate snuggled into his arms. "Thank you, Harry." the Hufflepuff said as he drifted off to a contented sleep. "love you."
"I love you too, Cedric." Harry voiced and the words sounded real and true.
Ron smiled as his wife placed the tea set on the table in front of Harry and Oliver. He was proud of how well Eloise was adapting to life without house elves and being gracious to his friends. He had even managed to ignore the other person in the room, for the most part. Eloise had agreed to forego any further schooling, stay at home, spend her time taking care of her husband and preparing for their children. Ron had insisted that they could live like his family, with only magic to aid their housekeeping needs. Eloise wasn't as gifted as his mum, but she was eager to please.
After everyone had been given a cup of tea, Eloise squeezed into the seat next to Ron.
One sip of their drinks was enough to tell them that the brew was off. Draco wondered silently if she had confused the dishwater with an aguamente spell. He put down the cup and pushed it away, not trusting the drink for his unborn children's health. Harry and Oliver held onto their cups, but neither drank anymore.
Ron glared at the blond and Harry needed to draw his attention away, "So, how is auror training going, Ron?" he asked.
Ron turned to his friend and perked up. "It's great, Harry. You can still join up, you know? It'd be brilliant with you there."
Draco seemed to stiffen in his chair, jerking his head from face to face. Harry injected a quick, "No, Ron." and the blond relaxed. "I'm staying where I am."
But Ron had not missed the interchange, "Oh, I get it. Malfoy can't stand the idea that you might be chasing down his dad or other relatives."
Draco sneered at him and Harry interrupted again, "Ron, that's uncalled for."
"What's wrong, Ferret, worried that Daddy will get caught bribing the Ministry to cover for his using Dark Magic?"
"At least my father would be welcome by the rest of the wizarding elite." Draco scoffed and Ron rose from his seat and pulled out his wand. The blond had his wand in his lap but Harry stood between the two. Oliver's wand was in his hand, as well, but he remained seated and watched the other Gryffindors.
"Ron, what are you doing? You can't threaten my mate, especially while he's carrying my babies."
"The prat will probably give them brain damage." Ron shouted as he lowered into his chair.
"Right, Weasley. At least I am having children. Potter's first." Draco smirked as he looked away.
Harry sighed as he saw Ron begin to rise. Oliver spoke up distracting the red-head. "I got free tickets to my next game and I thought, since it's against the Canons, that Ron might want to come."
"A Canons' game? Would I!" Ron shifted directions and Harry sighed. "Eloise, go get some of those biscuits you baked. Hurry up." the future auror snapped and his wife scurried away. "How close to the action are they?" Ron continued.
"Left of the goal, near the field lights." Oliver answered as he watched the door to the kitchen. Ron looked at it, then turned back.
"She'll be back in a sec. Don't worry, she knows to jump when I tell her." He turned to Harry grinning. "I got her well-trained."
When Harry didn't respond, Draco scoffed. "Like a puppy, Weasel?"
Ron's attention snapped his way and the red-head growled, "Like a proper sub, Ferret, in a proper creature home."
"Ron!" Harry shouted. "I think we should go." he stood, followed by Oliver, who aided Draco out of his chair, but the blond was the first to reach the floo. "I'll talk to you later." Harry told his friend as he took Oliver's arm and sent him behind the Veela.
"Harry . . . ."Ron began as Eloise returned.
"Here's your cookies." She sang out. "Where're they going?"
"Your husband will explain." Draco sneered from the hearth.
"Draco! Go home!" Harry snapped and the blond glared for a minute before entering the floo, dropping a handful of powder and stating his destination clearly.
"The Noble House of Black!" Harry winced as he disappeared but didn't respond to the taunt.
"Don't know how you can stand him, Harry." Ron said with a shake of his head. "The slimy git hasn't changed at all."
"Ron," Harry began, "That 'slimy git' is My mate. He's carrying My children and I Chose Him. Just remember that." and Harry stepped into the fireplace without another word to his friend.
Draco was not in sight when Harry arrived, but he was easily found in his room, changing his robes for dinner. He was examining a deep green robe when Harry entered without knocking and he turned and raised an eyebrow at his mate.
"I was embarrassed today." Harry stated.
"He's your friend, Potter." Draco said hanging the cloak back in his wardrobe and pulling out a brown one.
"I was talking about you." Harry rolled his eyes and Draco turned and glared at him.
"Potter, I'm not going to change for you. If that's what you believed, you were deluded. I'll play nice with Granger, because she's proved herself. But, Ronald Weasley is no great wizard, and I'm not going out of my way to placate him. He's insufferable and insults me each time we meet. I've tried to ignore him, stay out of his way, and yet he can't seem to be avoided." the blond lowered onto the divan in his room and stared up at Harry with the same regal demeanor, not affected by his new position.
"Ron is my best friend, Draco. I'd like for you to be less hostile." Harry focused on making his words less confrontational, but he was afraid that it was hopeless. "I'm not asking you to change . . ."
"Yes, you are. Look, Harry. I'll stay away from him, if he does the same for me and my family." He blatantly stroked the rise of his belly and Harry took the hint. He knew that Draco's heritage was not a problem, since Veela were well known, but if Harry's was found there would be ramifications. His link to the babies could never be publicized for their own safety.
"Draco, I am your dominant, I order you to . . ." Harry had to try, as it had been bothering him from the beginning of the relationship.
"You are a dominant, but so am I. Just because I am reacting as submissive, doesn't mean that I am one. If you start ordering me to do things that are against my beliefs and out of my comfort zone, then I can't stay here." Draco surprised himself at his words.
"I thought you couldn't deal with being alone." Harry snarked.
"No, I couldn't deal with rejection. I wasn't wrong, either. If you try to change me, that is a form of rejection, and I won't stand for it. Look, I'll be submissive, in bed, in mating, in childbearing, but I am just as much a dominant as you, and I don't think you want it any other way." Draco leaned back, not so much out of arrogance, as it would look to someone who hadn't spent as much time with him as Harry had, but out of fatigue, and that made his mate annoyed.
"I don't like your attitude, Draco. If you weren't pregnant, we wouldn't be having this conversation." Harry was trying to control his irritation, but the blond was being purposefully negative. He grabbed Draco by his arm and pulled him to his feet, twisting just enough to cause discomfort, or maybe a little pain. Draco made a noise that sounded like a whimper, but Harry ignored it. "Now, we are going to get things straight. Ron is my friend and you will treat him with respect. Say it. I will respect your friend, Harry."
The hand holding Draco's arm was pinching hard enough to bruise the flesh, and Draco's face contorted in a strange way. Harry thought his sub was about to concede, when Draco's skin became red hot and his wings stretched out from his body. He pulled away when Harry ducked to avoid being struck by the pure white feathered projectiles. When Harry looked up, he was a good five feet away, and glaring at him. "Get out of my room." he said in clipped tones that Harry could clearly understand. "If you don't, I'll do something we'll both regret."
A wind forced Harry back and as he was so close to the door that opened for him, he was out before he could put up an argument. The door slammed closed and would not open again for him. His anger simmered below the surface but stayed there because of the shock of Draco's reaction.
AN: This is in reaction to some stories I've read where Harry's dominance become outright bullying. I'm not a fan, and I'm not going to let him get away with it, but I wrote this to get him to understand why it is wrong. Again, it's just my take on it, so please don't castrate me. The next chapter will be Harry's wake-up call. I promise.
