The first meeting
That evening the first meeting was held with all the DA members sneaking into the dungeons and Severus´s quarters. The last to arrive was Luna since she was the only one coming from the other site of the castle. After she came in Harry explained the trunk and after a quick tour the group settled in the living room. Ginny and Draco huddled together on one couch, with Hermione sitting on the other end. Luna made herself comfortable on the thick rug and the others were seated on the big pillows or were sitting in armchairs. Harry debated with himself if he should go over to Severus but decided that he had to be the leader they needed and a leader didn´t sit on someone else´s lab. No, a leader stood strong by himself, at least in official meetings.
“Thank you all for coming. Tonight, we will discuss a few different topics. First and foremost, we have found a new headquarters. In the next few days Hermione will approach you and hand out a new set of fake galleons. They will work like the old ones they get hot, and a message will appear, we do so, so that we can pass information without always have to meet in person. When the message only reads DA we will have to meet at headquarters immediately. The galleon has a new feature now as well. It is a portkey with two preprogramed destinations. It will bring you to headquarters and back to Hogwarts only. The portkey will activate by a password. You need a different one for both destinations. Hermione will show you how you install your password but only you will know what it is. When you leave Hogwarts always do it somewhere where no one sees you since the portkey will bring you back to that exact spot. If someone should see you, it would bring on many questions that we cannot answer without the risk that they find out about our organization. Also, before you can use the portkey you will have to come to headquarters with me since I am one of the two people who can invite you into the wards. As soon as I do you will have no problem port keying there. Any questions?”
“Yes, who is the other person who could invite us in? I thought you are the only Black left?” Hermione asked.
“I will answer your question Hermione, but I need you all to hear me out. Can you do that?” He asked and looked around. They all nodded.
“This morning I reinstated Draco as part of house Black. He left the Malfoy name behind, and he is now officially a Black thus he has access to every Black property. I don´t think he knows where any of them are but if he did, he could enter the wards without a problem. I also declared him my brother in spirit. For one, because I know how it is to don´t have family who cares or help you if you need it and because it will make sense once we decide to do the sharing ritual. I made my choice in the people and in how many people I am going to share my gifts with. It will be seven people since it is the most powerful number in our world. It will be Ginny because she is like a little sister to me and Draco because he is the one who Ginny loves.
Severus and I have the theory that it will be easier to share my gifts when there is a strong bond between me and all of you. I already have a strong bond with you guys. A bond that grew strong and deep over the years but Draco and I weren´t close in any kind of sense so I had to form it magically.
Ron, Hermione although I think there never was a question in that. You two are my family, my best friends I will do anything, so you survive the war and I want to give the person you love the same chance. I know you don´t have a girlfriend Ron but,” but Ron cut him off.
“Actually Harry, I have, well kind of…” I don´t really have her, but I think I`m in love with her, I know I want to be with her I just hadn´t had the chance yet to do anything about it.”
“Really? Why´d you never tell me about her?”
“Because you… you used to like… ehm Cho. I´m sorry Harry I really am. I would never have done anything before talking to you first I swear. I didn´t want to like her for the longest time because I knew you did and when you guys went on that one date, I thought that would be it but when you told me how bad it went between you two my stupid heart started hoping again that maybe someday, I could be with her.” He looked down but his head shot up when he heard Harry laugh.
“Ron, it´s okay I swear. I just want to see you happy. Both of you.” He looked at Hermione.
“I believe you´ve been seeing someone for quite some time?” He asked grinning and she nodded her head. Harry could see Ginny whisper in Draco´s ear who´s eyes went just a little wider, so Harry guessed that either like him, Ginny had figured it out herself or that Hermione had told her.
“Yes, Victor and I actually never broke up. We are officially a couple since the day after the second task.”
“Does he have plans to come here anytime soon in the future?”
“He does. As it is he will be in London next week. We discussed him playing in England and he wants to move here so we can be together. When he arrives, he has scheduled try outs with a few teams here over the next two weeks and if he finds a good fit and the offer is acceptable, he will be here as soon as the new season starts.”
“Very good, I trust you to tell him about the DA and about the ritual and all that comes with it. When you meet him see Severus so you can sort out what to do so that you don´t get killed when you talk to him because you breach the contract. The last person I want to participate is Severus since he is the most experienced fighter in our group and because he needs all he can get if he continues to be as involved in this war as he is. Every bit of extra power, every bit of information that can help him is good for our site since he is so close to both our enemies.” He finished his explanation.
“Sure Harry,” Luna said. “It has nothing to do with the fact that you love him at all.” She smiled her dreamy smile at him. Harry blushed.
“Well, that too.” He said and blushed even more. Ron looked at him with wide eyes but said nothing.
“Could you name all of us your brother or sister in spirit? Wouldn´t that make our bond even deeper?” Ginny asked.
“I could, but I can´t. If I would name you my sister Ginny, you would automatically become Draco´s half-sister. Since I would be the head of the family, I could not allow you guys to be together. Add that to the fact that I could never do that to your parents. You would have to leave the Weasley name behind. It would be a slap in your parents face, to be honest, I didn´t even consider it.” Ginny nodded in understanding.
“What about me Harry?” Asked Hermione.
“My family is on the other site of the planet with no memory of me existing. I am not a part of any wizard family so I could offend no one. Would you, do it? For me? Please? I really want to belong to someone.”
“I can, you would become a Potter though not a Black.”
“What could be better?” She said and grinned at him. Harry took out his want and did as she asked. How couldn´t he since from an early age on his biggest wish was to belong himself.
“On to the next point. We will need to search Dumbledore´s office soon. I would like to do it next weekend and we need to get him out of the castle for at least a few hours. I think I have a way but I wouldn´t be here to search with you so I need Severus to oversee everything just in case there are spells that must be disarmed that are out of our knowledge. Tomorrow we will meet with Fred and George Weasley in hope that they will join us. Their first and most important duty will be to recruit outside of Hogwarts so if you know anyone in need of a job who can be trusted let me know, they will be needing someone to overlook the shop.”
“I´m not sure they will be too happy about that Harry. It is their shop I don´t think they will be thrilled when you make decisions about what is theirs.” Ron said.
“As I am the person who gave them the money to start the shop, I am part owner. Until now I was a silent partner, and I would very much like to stay this way, but this is something that must be done. The twins can´t recruit all over the country and outside of it when they sit in their shop. Can they Ron? Look. They can look for someone themselves if they want and at this point, we only assume that they join. I´m pretty sure of it but I will tell them about my plans for them before they make their decision so they can consider it. Hermione would you please tell Nev, Luna and Draco how to approach their housemates.” Harry said changing the topic and smiling at Hermione when she nodded. She took a deep breath and started.
Firstly, don´t be afraid to approach the younger students they MUST learn how to fight. We will do anything we can to keep them out of the fights, but an attack can come at any time and if they are here, they must be prepared to defend themselves until they can activate their portkeys to get to headquarters. We will have to make sure that they understand how important it is not to speak to anyone about the DA and under no circumstances is anyone who isn´t at least in sixth year permitted to take part in missions other then deliver a message from a member to one of the people in this room.”
Neville, Luna, I want you to start asking questions within your house. I want you to ask subtle questions like, what would you do if you found out that someone you trusted is betraying you, has lied to you, stuff like that. Look for their reactions, listen carefully to their answers. Don´t rush it, take your time and come to me before you directly approach them. I will mostly trust your judgement only if I have concerns will I ask you to wait and observe a bit more before talking to them about the DA and Dumbledore.
I think the Ravenclaws will catch on soon that these questions are not hypothetical and when they ask questions answer them truthfully. Tell them about Harry and Dumbledore, don´t go into detail about Harry´s home life. Just say Harry has been treated badly and leave it there. Tell them we can prove that Dumbledore is indeed an evil man and that we have built our own site in this conflict. Mention the DA since most students think they know what it is and tell them that, would they want to join you will speak with Harry and set up a meeting place to get more details.
Neville, if the Gryffindor´s ask questions tell them that someone betrayed Harry but don´t mention the headmaster. Just say that it was someone he trusted and that a lot of people got hurt. We have to be so careful with the Gryffindor`s. Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard to ever come out of our house and he is a symbol for power, love and kindness. He is sort of the grandfather to all. Many Gryffindor´s wouldn´t believe you even when you smack them with the truth over the head because they won´t want to believe that their chosen leader could do wrong. We have to filter out which are the ones that will absolutely stand with Harry. I don´t know the years under us well but I think the Creevy brothers are a save bet to begin. Ginny could help you with the rest of the six years and maybe some of the fifth years but I´m not sure. Seek out the kids with siblings in lower grades. If we could have only one student per year would be great since he can help with his peers. I will see to the girls in seventh year myself. I cannot emphasise enough how important it is that you work carefully. Gryffindor and Ravenclaw hold Dumbledore at a high standard. If you are wrong and someone goes to him, we have a problem.
Draco your approach must be different. Most of the Slytherin respect but don´t trust Dumbledore. You would have no problem in convincing them that the old fool is dangerous, your challenge will be to convince them that they are not the enemy and that like you, they do not have to follow a psychopathic lunatic, but the hardest thing will be to convince them to build a alliance with us. I guess you know which Slytherins have the mark or at least who will with no doubt take it after school. Speak to them only if you think there is a chance, they might change their minds. We would prefer you work the other way around. Start with the younger years and look for kids with siblings in older classes. The young ones aren´t influenced too much yet. You can show them another, better way and hopefully the older kids will follow. You will have to be even more careful because while Dumbledore finding out would be bad, the dark lord finding out would be a disaster.
All of you also will have to be careful with children who have parents working at the ministry. I don´t know what to make out of the new minister yet, I never met him, but we know for a fact that the ministry is full of people like Umbridge and Fudge, so you know, constant vigilance.”
Thanks, Mione that was great. Draco, I want you to come to me as soon as you get an answer to your letter.” Draco nodded. Harry was tired and wanted nothing more then to fall into bed and sleep. He yawned and looked at the clock. It was almost midnight.
“Severus you know what to do tomorrow?”
“Yes, I know, though I thought that maybe I should talk to Poppy and Minerva together so they can talk to Flitwick and Sprout. I am not close to any of the teachers so it would be better if it comes from someone they already trust. Minerva already knows that someone will talk to her, and Poppy is the one person on the staff that always liked me. I spent quite some time in the infirmary when I was in school and after many meetings with the dark lord so I will have no problem to get her to listen.”
“Great. It looks like tomorrow we might have four people join us. I need all but Severus to come with me tomorrow to headquarters. We will apparate from Hogsmeade and I will then go and get Fred and George. Draco will let you into the wards. I think it would be better if they don´t see you until we explain everything to them and give Ginny a chance to tell them about you. You can of course stay in the library and read or maybe you could start setting up a potion lab in one corner of the basement. We could take the trunk with us and since we have so much equipment you could sort out what we can leave there. There must be an owl catalogue for furniture some where in the living room along with one of the pharmacy and caldrons and stuff you could look through and mark what we should get for the lap.”
“That sounds kind of fun. Maybe Neville and Luna could keep me company?” He asked looking shyly at the boy he had tormented for years. Neville nodded and smiled lightly, and Draco breathed a little sigh of relieve.
“Very good. I think that would be all for now. I am sorry it got so late. Please be careful when you go back. I don´t want to rouse suspicion.”
“Don´t worry we will. We see you tomorrow. When should we meet in Hogsmeade?”
“Let us meet at the entrance. Ginny and Luna will have to use my cloak since it is not a Hogsmeade weekend. Ron what time did you tell the twins I would pick them up?”
“Ten thirty.”
“Good then we meet at ten, so we have enough time to make it to Hogsmeade.”
“Alright. Good night everyone.”
“Good night.” Came back in several different voices and everyone went to their room to get ready for bed.

When Harry had changed into his night close, he climbed out of the trunk and climbed in Severus´s bed. He was alone but Harry could see light coming through the slit underneath the door, but he had to only wait two more minutes before Severus came into the bedroom. When he saw Harry, he smiled and immediately climbed into bed with him. Harry snuggled close to him and sighed when Sev pulled him close in his embrace.
“I missed you.” Said Harry quietly.
“We were together the whole evening.” Snape teased; Harry giggled.
“You know what I mean.” He said looking up at him.
“I know, me too.” Snape said softly, pressing a kiss in his hair.
“You were great today.” Severus said after a small while.
“It feels weird, telling people what to do. I always thought of myself as someone who follows commands not someone who gives them.”
“Command suits you and you know very well what to say to give people no other choice as to see it your way. I always thought Dumbledore was the best speaker I know but I have realised that Dumbledore tries to hard in doing so. With you it comes naturally and everyone who is looking at you can see that it all comes from an honest place.” Harry thought about that for a while.
“I think that is because I only speak up about things I am truly passionate about. Many times, I don´t even bother but when there is something irritating me so much that I feel the need that someone has to speak up I can channel this conviction in me I guess.”
“You were always like that. Even in first year, you would always stand up against bullies. You have such a strong sense in what´s wrong and what´s right that you cannot stand aside when you see injustice. It can be mistaken for overconfidence or arrogance but as soon as anyone gets to no you, they see what you are all about.”
“Severus, stop, do you want me to run around looking like a tomato for the next week?” Harry asked jokingly.
“I don´t know I think you look rather cute when your face is all blushed.” Severus said and Harry snickered before yawning deeply again.
“We should go to sleep. I see you in the morning.” Severus said and pressed his lips against his. Harry deepened the kiss just for a few seconds before pulling away and settling himself in his lover’s arms.
“Good night, I love you.”
“I love you too. Sleep well.” Severus said before with a wave of his hand and a quiet nox all the lights went out.
