A/N: I used two songs in this chapter the one and only "I'll Be" by Edwin McCain. Also "Endlessly" by The Cab. I don't own these I wish I did because they are AMAZING! Plus they are on my playlist every time I write a chapter for this story. As for "Everything You Want" and "The Two Brothers" I plan to update them soon! So read on! Enjoy!
Chapter 24: Christmas Part 2
Hermione sighed as she hung up some more decorations on the huge Christmas tree in the Great Hall. Riley had left with no word to her this morning. She knew she had to meet the people from the record label to go over the contracts. Riley must have been in a rush because Hermione saw the alarm clock and saw that she only had minutes to get going. Before she could really get up Riley was gone. She was happy for her girlfriend but at the same time she was worried where that left them. After school she planned on continuing her education and Riley would be working in the record studio and planning a tour around the world. Are they going to be able to keep their love alive? Is Riley going to find some else on the road? What about getting a place together? All these thoughts have been running through her mind since last night. She gently took her locket and looked at the pictures in them and she smiled. Riley made her feel like she's never felt before. She always made sure that she was comfortable and taken care of. Riley waited on her hand and foot she treated her like a queen and she's never had that happen before. It was still all new to her but she loved every minute of it. She decided to put the troubling thoughts aside and began to help Ginny with other decorations for the ball.
The band was in the Room of Requirement looking over the contract. Riley was looking over it for the third time to make sure everything was okay for her. It said that they could continue their education after graduation while working for them. That made her happy because she planned to do just that. The guys and the two executives were just waiting on her. Kelsey couldn't help but shake his head. He knew Riley wanted to make sure they were all taken care of and that the label would be true to their word. He knew she was just wanted to protect them and make sure nothing would come between them.
"Okay everything looks good," she said with a smile and took a pen then signed her name. They all stood up and shook hands with the executives, the two left and they band cheered and hugged each other. They couldn't believe their dream was actually coming true. They would soon be living out their dream and they couldn't wait. Their celebration was short lived with Mike telling them that they had an hour to practice before they went to the Great Hall to set up the stage with the help of Draco, Ron and Harry. They decided to mix the Christmas songs in with some of their own stuff. Ryan had suggested it because he felt like the shouldn't just focus only on Christmas songs but also for everyone to have some fun. They also decided to work on their songs for New Years as well. Tonight was going to be a great night and they couldn't wait.
"What do you mean Lavender is part of this?" Ron asked as he sipped on his coffee. He, Draco, and Harry met in the kitchens that morning so they could tell Ron what they suspected. Draco told Ron that Lavender has been appearing in Riley's nightmares giving her warnings. Ron nodded not just a few months ago Lavender was with them hanging out and having fun and now she's gone. It doesn't make any sense to him.
"We don't want to break it to anyone else until next month. We have Christmas and then New Years. Plus Riley and her friends just signed with a record label and we don't want to bring down the news," Harry explained and Ron nodded in agreement. They discussed it in more detail then Harry looked at his watch and told them they had to go. They thank Dobby and left the kitchens meeting the band in the corridor. They greeted each other and started to walk towards the Great Hall.
"So Hermione what did happen after Three Broomsticks?" Ginny asked with a smirk and Hermione just blushed. Susan, Emma, and Luna came over to them wanting to know as well.
"That my dear Ginny is a private matter between Riley and I," she smirked and went back to stringing popcorn.
"Oh come on you were glowing when you came out of the room last night," Susan said.
"Speaking of 'prince charming'" Emma smirked and nudged Hermione on her shoulder. Riley walked in the guys and they made a beeline for the stage. She smiled when she saw her girlfriend go right to work. She also couldn't help but notice that she was wearing a black zip up hoodie with a grey tank top underneath that almost clinged to her body. Also skinny black jeans that had some rips in them and finally her favorite black and white high top Converses. Riley's sleeves were rolled up so her tattoos were showing and her hood was up as well. Not matter how Riley dressed Hermione couldn't help but think that her girlfriend was sexy and hot.
"Merlin how does she pull that off?" She heard Ginny asked and saw her looking at Riley as well. She just laughed at her friend, "I ask myself the same thing. She's really athletic and her body is just amazing." Hermione started to blush a little. Ginny grabbed her hands. "Okay now you have to spill," the girls gathered around her and she started to tell them about her and Riley.
"Riley where should these extra cords go?" Draco asked and Riley jumped off the stage with a confused look.
"We shouldn't have extra cords," she said and she took the cords from Draco and looked at them.
"Draco these aren't ours. I've never seen these before." She looked at them more close and she could feel a tingling sensation come from them. Kelsey came over to see what was going on and Riley showed him the cords. He took them from her and said that they weren't theirs either he also felt a tingling sensation come from them. "What do you want to do with them?" Draco asked not wanting to alarm them about what he felt.
"Put them aside for now I want Snape to look at them because I've never seen those before and I'm not taking any chances." Draco nodded and put the cords on a table that was by the stage. They went back to work setting up the stage. Riley was setting up the microphone stands and the microphones, Kelsey was tuning his guitar and Riley's since she was busy. Ron was helping Mike with the drums, Eric was setting up the keyboards and Ryan was tuning his bass. Draco was making sure everything was plugged into the right sockets and he would also be running the sound board for them tonight. Riley heard laughter and looked to at where it was coming from and smiled when she saw Hermione with her friends. She looked so beautiful in her long sleeved grey shirt, blue jeans and her sneakers. Her hair was pulled back into a small ponytail to keep her hair out of her eyes. Riley didn't know what she did to deserve her but she was glad to have her in life. She loved her in many more ways than one she couldn't put it into words. There were still some things she hadn't open up to her about but Hermione was so understanding and one day she would know everything.
They finally set everything up and they decided to do a small sound check to make sure the sound was okay for tonight. Kelsey handed over her guitar and she double checked to make sure it was tuned right and she thanked Kelsey. Draco went to the sound board and gave them a thumbs up to let them know that it sounded good so far. Ron and Harry stood by just in case they had to adjust something while they played a song. Riley smiled because the song they were about to play meant a lot to her and it described what she felt about Hermione. She did a small microphone check and she waited for Draco to give her a thumbs up again. He told her to do another check and she did then he gave her a thumbs up. She nodded and then nodded at the guys and they started to play.
"There's a shop down the street,

where they sell plastic rings,

for a quarter a piece, I swear it.

Hermione stopped what she was doing when she heard Riley sing and she turned around and looked at her. Riley looked so carefree and happy up on stage and she couldn't help but smile. Her friends also stopped what they were doing and watched the band.

"Yeah, the ink may stain my skin,

Riley found Hermione and looked right at her and smiled. Luna gave a small nudge at Hermione and she couldn't help but blush. Riley wanted to give this song to Hermione one day and to let know no matter what happens she would always lover her.

The reason why this song stuck out to Riley was because she knew down the road it's not going to be easy for them since she was about to go on the road to fulfill her dream. Where Hermione would continue her education but she wasn't sure where just yet.

until I can afford it."

Hermione softly gasped when she heard those words, 'Did this mean she wants us to live together?' she thought and Emma gave Hermione a knowing smiling. Hermione couldn't help but wonder what surprise Riley has in store.

Riley pointed right over to where they were and the girls couldn't help but laugh and nod in agreement. They knew Riley was crazy sometimes when it came to her friends but they knew it was part of her.

At this point Riley and Hermione locked eyes and they didn't want to look away.

Kelsey smiled as he was singing the back up vocals and he watched Riley and Hermione.

Hermione knew from the first night that Riley was perfect for her and only her. She didn't have a single doubt in her mind that Riley was the one.

Hermione's heart soared when she heard the words. Riley always said that she needed her but all in all it was Hermione who needed Riley. She has opened up her eyes to a new world and she needed Riley by her side through the ups and downs that the world has to give.

"There's a shop down the street,

Draco smiled as the song ended. Everything sounded great and he gave them a thumbs up and during the song he couldn't help but look over at Emma every now and then. He couldn't explain it but as the days go by he started having slight feelings for her. He didn't know how to sort them out. Hopefully he could pull Riley aside at some point and talk to her about it.
Draco went over to them as they started to put their instruments away and told them that everything sounded good and it was going to go really well tonight. Riley thanked him and they looked over everything once more and they got off the stage. They all walked over to the table that had the extra cords on them. Riley explained that they shouldn't have any and the all agreed. Draco told them that he would take them to Snape right away and he would meet them in a little while. Riley told them he would meet up with them in a few minutes. She didn't get a chance to say a proper hello to her girlfriend. They all teased her and left the Great Hall.
After the song Hermione turned back around and went back to stringing popcorn. Then she felt arms around her and a kiss was placed softly on her neck. She smiled and leaned against her girlfriend's embrace.
"I'm sorry about this morning. I woke up and only had minutes to meet with the guys from Red Label," she said taking in Hermione's scent. She loved the way she smelled, how she fit perfectly in in her arms, and just her being there.
"That's alright I heard you leave and I figured," she smiled and turned around finally meeting crystal blue eyes she loved so much.
"So are you and the girls going to get ready after this?" She asked and Hermione nodded. Riley couldn't help but chuckle.
"What? Why are you laughing?" She asked and smiled.
"Baby it's like one and you're gonna spend six hours getting ready? Do you really need all that time?" She asked as she started to softly kiss her neck. Hermione sighed and closed her eyes as her arms came around her neck.
"It wasn't my idea. Ginny said that we all need to get ready together," she was finding hard to concentrate on what she was saying.
"Mmmhmmm," was all Riley replied her lips not leaving her neck.
"Well aren't you and the guys going to be hanging out while we get ready?" She was trying to hold back her moans as Riley kept her lips on her neck and pulled her closer.
"Yeah but we don't need six hours to get ready," She smiled and then gently pulled away. Hermione nodded, "Very true you are one of the blokes anyway."
Riley nodded and then finally looked around the Great Hall, "Wow this place is really coming together. Looks amazing."
"We've worked really hard on it."
"Remind me to reward you later," Riley leaned in and softly met Hermione's lips. She pulled her closer not wanting to let her go. She forgot where they were at this moment and she didn't care. She had the girl of her dreams right here in her arms and she wanted to make sure she would be there forever.
"Don't you two every stop?" Ginny asked as she threw some popcorn at them breaking up the two lovebirds. They pulled away from each other but they didn't leave each other's embrace. "Oh come on Ginny I haven't seen her all morning," Riley pouted and Ginny just shook her head and walked away.
"I do have to get back to this though," Hermione said.
"Do you want help with anything?"
Hermione shook her head, "We're almost done go ahead and catch up with the blokes I'll see you tonight," she leaned up and their lips met one more time. Only this time it was shorter. "Okay I'll see you tonight," Riley gave her one more kiss.
"I love you."
"And I love you," Riley finally let go of her and smiled. She kissed the back of her hand and with one more look she walked out of the Great Hall to meet up with her friends.

"There's definitely something on these cords, I'm just not sure what it is yet?" Snape said waving his wand over the cords. Draco sought out his professor as soon as he left the Great Hall. He found him in one of the corridors hanging up decorations for the Holiday.
"There's some sort of tingling sensation when some one touches it. I've felt it and I'm pretty sure Riley and Kelsey felt it as well," Draco explained.
Snape nodded, "I'll take these to Dumbledore and hopefully we will have an answer soon. Now you run along and meet up with your friends." He patted Draco on the shoulder and he just nodded and started to walk away. Snape couldn't be happier for Draco. He finally found a group of friends that would lead him in the right path and away from his father. He watched Draco until he was at the end of the corridor and he turned to walk the opposite way to the Headmaster's office.

"Here's to a new beginning and to a great night ahead of us," Eric said and they guys and Riley of course clinked their glasses together. They were in the Room of Requirement and and they decided to get ready there. They had plenty of time so Riley brought her guitar and she was softly playing it as they all just relaxed and talked about tonight.
"So any wedding bells yet?" Harry teased Riley. She just smiled and shook her head, "No not yet. I mean I would love to but I want us to be together for at least a year and live together too."
"Well what about the tour and the album?" Ron asked.
"Ron you forget we are magical we can see each other any time no matter how far apart we are."
"Oh right," they all laughed and Ron and teased him a little bit. "What about you Draco you and Emma seem to be getting close." Riley pointed out and Draco gave a small smile. "I don't what I feel for her yet. It's all a little new to me. I mean I've dated before but Emma seems different."
"Well next trip we have to the village go with her," Kelsey suggested and Draco nodded. "Not a bad idea. Now how about Eric and Susan here. It seems they've been spending some time together," he smirked over at his new friend.
"Okay okay, Susan Bones and I are cool. We hang out and makeouthereandthere," he finished the last of that in one breath.
"I'm sorry what?" Ryan teased.
"I do believe he said they make out here and there," Mike said smiling.
"How do you feel about Ginny and Neville?" Riley pointed out. Ron just shrugged, "I mean as long as she happy that's all that matters," he answered honestly. Every one nodded in agreement, "But they would love it if she was with Harry here," he said putting a hand on Harry's shoulder. "Oh really why's that?" Riley asked.
"I'm like their other son and well their mom keeps trying to put us together but she's like my little sister. It would be too weird."
They continued to talk about girls and what they would do after school was over. Draco, Ron and Harry decided to take a year and follow the band since they could use some extra hands with their equipment. They talked about where the would go the first year and new song ideas. They had hours until they had to get ready and then they would meet up with the girls at the Heads dorm room. It wouldn't take them long to get ready since their suits were already there. Draco, Ron and Harry decided to try and wear the Muggle style of a tuxedo instead of wearing dress robes. They told them that it would less and they would be able to breath a little bit more. That they liked and it wasn't a mix of different colors at all it was just black and white. They couldn't wait until the ball and to enjoy their Christmas.

The girls were all fixing up their hair and applying a little bit of make up. They were all in Hermione's room and helping each other pick out which lipstick or eye shadow would look alright. They were also discussing wedding bells with Hermione.
"I don't know to be honest," she was helping Luna with her hair. "I mean I would like to feel what it's like to live together first."
"Oh come on you practically live with her in her room already," Susan pointed out. Hermione knew that was true she did pretty much live in Riley's room. "But you know I want to know what it's like to come home and have her waiting there. Or her come home and I'm right there waiting to greet her and we talk about each others days. Being able to sit at the dinner table and have a home cooked meal. To be able to just come home and be happy to see each other for not seeing each other all day and to just be with each other at the end."
They all sighed at what Hermione said and they couldn't help but have dreamy expressions on their faces.
"Anyway what's going on with you and Eric?" Hermione smirked and looked at Susan who blushed.
"We you know hang out and snog here and there," She said blushing and the girls all teased her about it for about it for a moment. "Emma you and Draco seem to be getting close."
Emma nodded and couldn't help but smile, "He's a nice bloke," she said and didn't say anything after that. "Ginny you and Neville hows that going?"
"He's so sweet and I couldn't be happier" She smiled and then started to apply some light eye shadow.
"Now Luna what about you. Is there a special guy in your life?"
"Ronald" she said simply. All the girls turned to her and looked at her in shock, "Ronald as in my brother?" Ginny asked and Luna just simply nodded, "We've been seeing each other lately. Quietly of course, because we don't want to make it public just yet. We were going to at New Years."
All of them let out a small squeal and they started talking about it. They couldn't believe that Luna was seeing Ron and they were completely surprised about it. Yes tonight was going to be a really good night.

The time came for the group to meet at the Heads dorm. They were all instructed to wait outside which they did. All the guys and Riley were simply wearing black and white tuxedoes and they were making sure their bow ties were straight enough. Each of them had a small rose pinned on them and they were just waiting for the girls to come out and they couldn't wait to see them. The portrait finally opened and first one out was Susan. Eric took in a small breath he was speechless. She looked absolutely beautiful in her salmon pink gown, her hair was in ringlets falling behind her shoulders and with just a bit of make up. She smiled as she walked over to Eric and he held out his arm for her to take. He kissed her softly on the cheek and waited for the others.
Next one out was Luna she was in a sea blue gown and her hair was put up but had a few strands falling around her face. Ron smiled and as she walked over to her and he gave her small lily and she smiled and kissed his cheek. Emma was next and Draco held in his breath. She was in an emerald and white gown and her blonde hair softy falling behind her shoulders. Draco couldn't find the words to say as she came over to him. He just kissed her forehand and she took his arm. Ginny was next and she was in a light red gown and her hair was hair was also following behind her shoulders and Neville blushed as he saw her. Ginny couldn't help but let out a small chuckle when she went up to him and gave him a small kiss on the lips.
Hermione came out last and Riley was fixing her tie and then she looked up and saw Hermione. She had to catch her breath because the way she looked was absolutely beautiful. She was in a snow white gown and her hair was up like Luna's with just a few curls framing her face. She smiled she saw Riley and couldn't help but think that she looked rather handsome. She walked over to Riley and she gave her a small white rose. "You look beautiful," she whispered. "You look handsome," she whispered back and kissed softly.
"Come on you two we need to go," Eric said and they broke apart. They group started to walk to the Great Hall so they could see the final set up. They were a little early since Riley and her friends had to do some last minute tuning. They walked in and everyone was impressed with what they had done. It was truly a winter wonderland. The Christmas tree was decorated and the enchanted ceiling was having snow softly fall. It was perfect and tonight couldn't get any better.
Students started to come in taking in the Great Hall and that was the band's cue to start getting ready. Draco went over to the sound board to make sure everything was in place. The band started to tune up as the students kept coming in. When Draco gave them the thumbs up, Riley nodded and the band started to play, "Winder Wonderland." Tonight was going to be a good night and there wasn't a worry in the world.

"New Years Eve right at midnight we attack," a feminine voice said walking over to the table where her partner was sitting looking over a map. He looked up at her and smiled, "Good, and we will finally be able to capture her. They won't know what hit them."
"Right as they are celebrating the new year we will come in right under their noses and they won't what hit them," She smirked. This was the news they waited for and they couldn't way. Once they were in they would grab the girl and leave. They needed the boy and the girl to make their plan work. They've waited too long and planned it over the years. It's now just a matter of time.

"Okay guys this is our last song of the night. Hope you had fun and Merry Christmas," Kelsey said and they a stool and an acoustic guitar for Riley. She strummed her guitar a few times and nodded at her friends and the music started to softly play.
"Before I start singing I want every one to find some one to dance with they don't have to be your boyfriend or girlfriend. They could be a friend because this song is a love song and it means a lot to me. So I wanna see a wave of couples I don't want anyone standing by themselves. Yes this means the Professors as well. I want every one on this dance floor with some that means a lot to them." She waited as she saw all the students trying to find some one. She smiled when she saw Emma walk over to Draco and stood next to him. Susan found Justin one of her friends and they walked over to the dance floor. Harry took Hermione's hand and followed Ron and Luna to the dance floor where they met Neville and Ginny.
"You guys look beautiful. So this song is about being there and that no matter what you'll always be that person's biggest fan. Even if they need a should to cry on and no matter what they will love you and they will get better through out the years."

Hermione looked up at Riley and couldn't help but smile again. This was the song that she's been hearing her play in the room but she never heard the words until now. "Looks like this is another one for you," Harry said with a smile looking at his best friend. Hermione looked back at Harry, "I don't know what I would do without her," she told him.

Riley looked around the Great Hall and couldn't help but feel really happy seeing everyone dancing with some one they cared about. Even if they aren't together everyone had someone they could turn to. Her eyes traveled to Hermione and she felt her heart skip a beat like it has so many times before. She was laughing at something Harry said and she was happy she had someone she could turn to even if she wasn't there.

Draco put down his headphones and took Emma in his arms and they slowly started to move with the music. "You look amazing," he told her. She smiled and leaned in and her lips met his for the first time.

"Such a delightful ball don't you think Minerva?" Dumbledore asked as he danced with his Deputy Headmistress. "Quite even Professor Snape is having a little bit of fun," she pointed over to where Snape was. He was dancing with Professor Trelawney and he was evening smiling.

Riley took the microphone and stood up. She gave her guitar to Eric and then hopped off stage and walked over to Hermione. Harry just smiled and started to back away leaving Hermione confused until she felt a hand in hers and she was spun around and she saw Riley and they stood there for a moment. Then Riley pulled her close and they started to dance slowly and Riley kept singing the last words of the song.

Riley couldn't wait she kissed Hermione right then and there not caring who was around. Everyone around them cheered, clapped, and whistled.
"Merry Christmas Hogwarts we will see you around and don't forget about the New Years Eve ball! Good night!" Kelsey announced.

They group were back at the Head dorm room opening presents they got each other. There was wrapping paper every where and everyone laughing and throwing balls of wrapping paper at each other. They all thanked each other for their gifts and Ron was happy to receive some thing more than just a sweater from his mom. Hermione of course had gotten books for school and Riley ended up getting her a couple that weren't for school but for her free time. Harry, Ron, and Draco all received new broom kits and a new Quidditch book. They all also got a few muggle CDs from the band. Ryan told them that if they were going to be with them then they need to catch up on some of their music.
Ginny was spending time with Neville so she wasn't with them but she would give them their gifts at breakfast in the morning. Emma and Susan had gotten some new dresses, new outfits, and some new make up among other things. Ryan, Eric, Kelsey, Mike and Riley all got some notebooks and pens for coming up with songs and any ideas they had. They all also got some tuners, for their guitars and music books to write their own music in. After spending some time together they slowly started to part their ways and everyone decided to head to bed after a great night.
Riley was laying in bed with her basketball shorts and a tank top watching "A Christmas Story" while waiting for Hermione to come out of her bathroom. Tonight ended well and she was glad she had Christmas with her family today before she went off to the ball. Her mom and Remus seem to be getting serious and it was only a matter of time before he would pop the question to her mom. That got her thinking the other day about asking Hermione but she decided not to. She wanted to wait just a little longer and she also wanted to wait for the right moment. She looked down at the ring on her left finger and couldn't help but smile. She knew Hermione was the one but she just wanted to spend time with her before their lives actually began when school was over.
"You look lost in thought," Hermione said smiling coming out of the bathroom with just one of Riley's button down shirts. Riley looked up and smiled, "Yeah I was just thinking."
Hermione crawled up to her and she put her around her and held her close. "Oh yeah about what?"
"Marriage."
Hermione looked up at her in shock and Riley chuckled, "I mean not now but down the road for you and I. I mean right after here I get to record an album with the guys and you are going to be going to college. I want to marry you I do but I want us to be settled in our careers first."
"So is this like a pre proposal?"
Riley smiled, "You could say that."
"Well then I accept," she leaned up and kissed Riley softly. They snuggled closer together and watched the movie. This was the best Christmas the both of them had ever had in a long time. They had each other and that's all that mattered at the moment right now.
