Title: A Godfather's duty

Summary: Lily's dead, Severus is in mourning. He contemplates what to do with the rest of his life when fate takes a hand.
A/n: Thank you for all of the ideas. I hope these last five chapters wrap this story up properly...
This epilogue was a surprise for me but it's cute!

Epilogue

It was coming up on Harry’s third Solstice at Merrivale…
He was starting to feel safer with the other children, so he would play farther from Severus but he still had to see him.
Draco was surprisingly gentle with Harry and after the third play date Cora had felt safe to play with Daphne.
Severus had Harry on his shoulders; Remus had Cora on his own while Nemia and Sera where riding on Remus’ shoes.
They would bundle up the day before Solstice and go find a tree before naptime.
When the kids woke up it would all decorated, Remus and Severus helped the kids make presents usually with finger paints or Muggle crayons.
From Severus and Remus as well as their aunts Narcissa and Andromeda or their uncle Sirius, Ted and Lucius would give them lots of gives like toys, clothes, books or anything else they felt was alright for their curious intelligent girls.
Harry still trailed behind Cora, Harry had been late to potty train but when he realised that all his friends stopped wearing nappies he begged for it.
He talked less then his playmates; Draco, Theo and Neville but only Cora or Draco every tried talking for him. It didn’t bother Harry that they did it seemed to calm him instead…
Harry still climbed into bed with Cora, who seemed to like being a big sister but Harry seemed to have a hard time relating to Nemia and Sera in the beginning.
“That tree Daddy!” Cora said pointing.
Remus laughed, “Cora that tree is too big.”
“It’s just right daddy, just make it littler.” Cora protested.
“It is a nice tree.” Severus chuckled.
“Alright. That tree it is. Daddy will go cut the tree so you all stay with papa.”
“Yes Daddy.” The kids chorused.
Remus cast a spell that would shrink the tree and then he cut it just right.
An elf appeared to take the tree back to the manor.
Remus let the girls climb all over him again before they put them down for a nap.

Solstice morning Cora burst in with Harry, Sera and Nemia.
“Daddy! Papa! Wake up! It’s solstice!”
“Solstice!” Harry, Sera and Nemia echoed.
Remus and Severus patted the bed and they all indulged in early morning cuddles.
Then they made their way down to the dining room because breakfast came before presents.
The kids had pumpkin snowman pancakes, with blueberry eyes, a mandarin orange slice nose with a bacon scarf and powdered sugar.
Severus and Remus had regular shaped pancakes topped with fruit and honey as well as eggs and bacon.
The nursery monitoring charm went off.
Remus rose wiping his lips with a serviette, “I’ll go get the boys.”
Cora bounced in her chair, “Daddy can I help?”
Cora was very mature in her words, she had been speaking proper sentences since she was two and now she was practically three years and five months old.
Remus held out his hand and Cora scurried over to him taking it.
Remus chuckled, Cora skipping along side him as they made their way up the nursery to fetch her nearly eight-month-old brothers Teddy and Fili.
Seraphina Lillias, called Sera and her twin Nemia Jasmine were born in mid-June less then two weeks from Draco’s second birthday.
Teddy, Theodosius Lyall and his brother Fili, Faelan Romulus were going to be a year at the end of February.
They entered the nursery to find Teddy babbling to Fili.
Cora went to chose outfits for the boys while Remus picked up Teddy who had teal hair and violet eyes today.
Dora liked to play colour games with Teddy…
Andromeda claimed that Metamorphamagus was a Black inheritance, her and Sirius Uncle Alphard’s was one. Severus’ exam of his family tree showed that his grandfather Marcellius’s bearer was Regulus Alexander Black. There weren’t any Blacks in the Lupin Line that Remus had found but there were two Blacks who were bonded to Princes in Severus’ ancestry Regulus and a Sirius Clover Black was the uncle of former Headmaster of Hogwarts Ophiuchus ‘Phineas’ Nigellus Black.
Remus strapped Teddy to the changing table and changed his nappy and bodysuit before placing him on the floor on the blanket that Cora had put down.
Remus trusted Cora to put a cute outfit on him while he cleaned up putting on a fresh nappy and bodysuit Fili for the day.
When he turned to check on Cora and Teddy, Cora had dressed Teddy in navy wool trousers, silver knitted socks and a jumper that was blue with silver snowflakes.
The outfit next to her for Fili was dove grey trousers, navy socks and a silver jumper with blue snowflakes.
Remus knelt putting the outfit on Fili before picking up Teddy.
Cora clapped her hands, “They’re so cute!”
Teddy had changed his hair to silver with blue streaks, likely at Cora’s instigation.
His minx thought that having a brother who could turn colours was awesome, she had been so jealous of Dora.
Speaking of Dora, the girl was going to be eleven in April and due to start at Hogwarts in September.
Cora skipped along the corridor but carefully picked her way down the stairs but once she made it to the first floor she was skipping again.
When she entered the dining room, Cora skipped up to Severus, “Aren’t Teddy and Fili cute papa? Did I do a good job?”
Severus hugged her, “Of course you did.”
Fili was a papa’s boy and insisted on being breast feed but to Severus’ pain, Teddy preferred a bottle.
So it wasn’t any wonder that Lolly showed up with a bottle for Teddy who waved his hands eagerly.
Severus held out his arms for Fili and then the only sound from their youngest was soft suckling.
Teddy preferred to sit in a high chair to watch them while he drank his bottle before he dropped it smacking his tray, “Chi!”
Lolly showed up immediately with a dish of peaches, but Remus spelled off Teddy’s jumper before Teddy buried his hands in the dish.
Teddy liked to eat food like peaches, applesauce, sweet potatoes, carrots and potatoes. He wasn’t found of baby rice, cereal, bananas or peas but he liked some foods.
Once everyone had eaten properly,
Remus helped Harry, Sera and Nemia down from their booster seats before he wiped Teddy clean.
“HARRY!” came the excited but familiar voice of Severus’ godson Draco.
Harry, Cora, Sera and Nemia headed off to greet their cousins.
Remus pulled Severus into a kiss, each holding a baby, “Happy Solstice Sev.”
Severus shivered, “Happy Solstice Remus.”
Severus had gotten better about sleeping and eating properly since Remus moved in and set up rules.
That didn’t mean to say that ‘discipline’ didn’t happen or that even with six kids they didn’t have any alone time.
It was far and few between but it was worth it.
Neither of them would trade their hectic life with a still recovering Harry, a boisterous Cora, inquisitive Sera, shy Nemia, curious Teddy and lazy Fili…
They still missed Lily and James but this was their family…

A/n: I had to put in Teddy because I adore him! The Blacks I mentioned being Severus' ancestors are on the Canon Black Family Tree I just married them off to Princes. Sev's second pregnancy was much easier because thanks to Andromeda's care he was really healthy. How far of a time skip do you want the sequel? Harry goes to primary school? A birthday? hm? Let me know!
