Dacian stood, a wide smile of welcome on his face as he moved from behind his desk to greet their guests. "Siress Adama, welcome to our home," he greeted her warmly, taking her hand in his and bringing it to his lips.
She smiled just as warmly. "My goodness, Dacian, you haven't changed a thing in this room since Roark turned it over to you, and I must insist that you call me Ila."
A smothered chuckle sounded. "They wouldn't dare," came the amused voice, as he too got to his feet and moved to her side. "Roark may have chosen to turn this room over to them and moved to one much closer to his bedroom, but to some extent, this is still his study. Good evening, Ila. You are looking as beautiful as always."
Her head turned, her smile widening as she met his midnight gaze. "Why, thank you, Severus," she said, giving him a warm hug. "How are the children?"
"Our little Demons are just fine."
A deep sigh sounded. "You REALLY need to stop calling our children Demons, Sev."
"And why, may I ask, should he stop doing that? With you as their Papa, how could they be anything less?" he said as he now stood up from his desk where he had been steadily working through some files. "Ila, it's good to see you."
"Gabriel," she hugged him as well. "How are Aaron and the children?"
He grinned. "They're just fine. He and a few of the others have taken all the little Hellions down to the park so we could have our meeting without them running in and out, tearing through the house, yelling and screaming as they chase each other around."
Dacian turned his head then, his warm smile cooling. "Adama, it's good to see you, as well. Glad to see you decided to come tonight, though Rodolphus said nothing about you coming tonight, Ila."
"I hadn't said anything to him about it, but any decisions my grandsons make about their lives concerns me. I want nothing more than to see the both of them settled and happy."
"What decision is there to be made? Lestrange is Roark's cousin, therefore they can be nothing else. This...relationship must end."
"THAT, my husband, is amazingly short-sighted of you, and not at all like you," came a touch sharply. "Those boys will be whatever they decide they will be. They will do precisely what they feel is the best for them, no matter what you or anyone else may say about the matter."
"Well said, Siress Ila," came the slightly deeper voice from the doorway, making them all turn. "Rodolphus and Roark were lovers long before they discovered they were cousins, twice removed, Adama," Ethan said from where he leaned against the jamb of the study doorway.
"They came to care about one another, to love one another, and can no more help how they feel about each other than Harry and Rabastan can, and for you to expect them to just stop feeling what they feel, is wrong. Dac, Sev, Gabe," he pushed away from the door jamb. "Dad, Uncle Thorin, Aiden, and Roark are back, and everyone else has arrived. Everyone is waiting in the sunroom. Shall we join them?"

They entered the beautiful room that was, for the most part, made entirely of glass to see the Durin brothers, as well as several cousins talking to the new arrivals. At the far end of the room, sitting together in one of the many window seats, were Rodolphus and Roark, dark heads bent close together, their hands twined together as they spoke quietly with each other, as well as with Harry and Rabastan, who was sitting across from them in chairs they had pulled close to the pair.
The four of them looked up at the commotion of the Durins that had been seated, getting to their feet to receive their guests. Roark looked first at Rodolphus, who gave him a nod, a reassuring smile. Then he looked over at Harry and Rabastan, both of whom nodded as they rose to their own feet.
Roark's head tilted as he suddenly looked at his brother, Harry obviously having said something to him telepathically. Whatever it was had Roark smiling, hugging his brother. Harry wrapped his arms around him, his head lowering alongside his brothers, murmuring into his ear as he hugged him gently.
Everyone waited patiently for the two to pull apart, smiles curving their lips as they watched the Peverell Potter brothers, everyone in the room well aware of just how worried Harry was about Roark at the moment.
They finally drew apart, the four of them turning and coming across the room. "Grandfather, Grandmother," Roark said easily enough, though it was obvious he was feeling extremely strained by the whole thing. His grandfather's reaction to his wanting to continue his relationship with Rodolphus had really rattled him, and it showed on not only his face but also in his eyes.
"Oh, Roark," Ila stepped forward to draw him into her arms, "do stop worrying so, my precious. I could see immediately just how much you loved him, and he you this morning at breakfast. As far as I am concerned, whatever decision the two of you make regarding your situation, will be the right one for the both of you, and therefore, completely fine by me."
"Ila--"
"Jacob," she interrupted quickly, giving him a silencing look, "let's just hear what our grandson has to say. If he has decided, as I am quite sure that he has, then a solution to their problem concerning their relationship has been thoroughly discussed, and something worked out."
"As it happens, it has," Admiral Roark spoke up. "Let's all take seats. Ila, would you like some tea?"
"Some tea would be lovely, Roark," she answered, giving Thorin a smile as he pulled a chair closer to her grandsons for her to sit in. "Thank you, Thorin," she said as she sat, everyone else moving to do the same except for the three cousins who arrived bearing trays of tea and coffee.
