Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
AN: Wow! I’ve never had someone reject my writing for a reason like this. I’m sorry, but I can’t see it as a problem, so I’ll just keep on as if you hadn’t said what you did. For those who like this story, I’ll keep on as I have, and I hope to be finished with it soon. If you don't like my writing, if I make mistakes, cause I do, then please leave some constructive criticism, I can take it, and I appreciate it.
If you don't agree with a pairing, or just don't like the story content, which I have warned about in the summary, then feel free to stop reading and ignore my story from here on. I do not need to be informed of your opinion, as that is the purpose of fanfictions: to engage in the endings that are your personal idea of how the story could have gone, not to write the ending that someone else envisions. I write the pairings I choose, and I share my stories as they are. If you want to suggest a pairing, please do, but that isn't a guarantee that I will use it. I don't need ideas, cause I have plenty of them.
I need to finish this story so that I can begin one of the others that are needling me. I will conclude my rant here.
ChaosLady: Hope you were not displeased with the addition of Cedric, as another reviewer was. Glad you like the story enough to put up with the delays and rereading that I’ve made necessary. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it.
Blj. 14: Sorry to lose you, but I have to be true to my muse. It is my story, and I thought it fit nicely. Hope you’ll find the kind of stories you like elsewhere, but as you hadn’t reviewed before this, I had no idea there was anyone out there who had those kinds of feelings. This is why it is important to give a writer feedback, and do it before you find yourself throwing off a story.
As for the delay in finishing, yes, I did start this in 2007, along with my other story, "The First Great Fan" but in the meantime, I’ve also written five novel-length original stories that I hope to get published, gotten my associate’s degree in Anthropology and started toward my bachelors. I’ve been busy, and a fanfiction, however good I might think it is, isn’t my number one priority. Again, sorry to lose a reader, but not so sorry that I’d have changed anything. Good-bye.
Unneeded: Thanks for the encouragement. I’ve had a bit of a bad time with this chapter.
Chapter Twenty-Five: And Then We Shall Wed
Sixth year for Harry and friends started one week into September and there were several new surprises. The school added four new courses: Infant and small child care, taught by Mrs. Molly Weasley, The All Male Family, with the surprise inclusion of a pair of gay wizard professors, and Preventive Measures for Conception and Family Planning, with gender specific courses taught by Seamus' mother and Mortimer Fawcette, the father of a Ravenclaw girl, and The Specifics of Male Pregnancy, a tentative new class taught by Professor Lucius Malfoy, a self-proclaimed expert. A special dorm was opened up for the returning new parents and the four new babies that came with them. The house elves, especially Dobby, were thrilled to be given assignments that included caring for these infants.
Harry gave birth to a strong little boy that he named Morpheus James Sirius Potter, who sported a wavy mass of golden blond hair and vivid green eyes. "He has your mother's eyes," Snape said when the child opened them for the first time. Harry was shocked when he noticed the man’s black eyes misting over.
Morph and Scorp, as the bulk of his friends called them, were as close as if they had sprung from the same womb.
Eddie Carmichael had the only girl, whom he had named Raven Justine.
The Diggory family took a house in Hogsmeade
And Lastly, Seamus Finnigan and Ernie MacMillan were given special permission to return, even though Seamus was five months along and Ernie was two, with their own progeny. The result of some end of the term celebrating the Irishman had with Neville and Dean and a summer holiday that the other spent with Blaise Zabini in Italy. These two were also housed in the special dorm, because of its proximity to the newly added Maternity ward, run by Lucius Malfoy and Veronica Goyle, a medi-witch who was Greg's aunt. The situation had caused the Dark Lord a great deal of frustration.
Around the end of the summer, the Order of Phoenix had uncovered a plan to kidnap Harry for a ritual that was meant to restore Voldemort's body, and they had managed to thwart it, capture what there was of Voldemort, a supposedly incarcerated Barty Crouch Jr. and allegedly dead Peter Pettigrew, which earned a reprieve for Sirius Black. When he was fully exonerated from all crimes, the Black Heir set to making it up to Harry for all the lost years. He arranged to take full custody of his godson, and remove him from the Dursley's for good, and took his ward and the baby shopping for school supplies and baby things. Harry was thrilled.
Hermione's parents, as well as the Weasleys, arranged for a private little wedding right after Daniel was born, and they worked together to set the young couple up with a new home and all the necessities for when they completed from their seventh year.
Bill Weasley got engaged to Fleur Delacour and Percy met his future wife, Audrey, at a Ministry banquet. She was the secretary to the head of the Dept of Lost Artifacts.
George Weasley agreed to take the curse, as soon as the last details of it were corrected, so he wouldn't have to worry about spreading it to some unwilling party. Lee was thrilled with the prospect and got a job immediately out of school with Flourish and Blotts, as a sales clerk. He wanted to make sure he was able to support his family before it got there.
The school schedule was relaxed, though special attention was placed on NEWTs lessons and this often required additional tutoring. Snape and Lucius put their efforts into making sure that the boys and Hermione were up to snuff on their lessons, without taking them away from their children and assigning safe potions for Seamus and Ernie to make while in their condition.
Snape was so pleased by Roger's eight outstanding NEWTs, that he took the boy home personally at the end of the year and proposed to him in front of the entire Davies family. They had spent one week at Spinner's End, then moved into the professor's apartments, permanently.
Hermione had additional concerns, by the fact that Charlie was a frequent visitor to the school and he had still yet to find the answer to adjusting the curse. Their answer came by way of a certain boy-who-never-failed-to-surprise. Harry Potter.
"If you want to make it just for George, why not let him cast it on himself?" he asked from across their sitting area, and the other two just stared at him.
"And why didn't we think of that?" Charlie asked.
"Because, only Harry could come up with something so simple." Draco said from the door where he was patting Scorpius' back to bring up a bubble. "He has a knack for solving complicated problems with simplistic solutions. You should have just asked him directly. Watch. Harry, how am I supposed to get my potions essay written while our son is colicky?"
"Just give him to me." the Chosen One said with a huff as he rose and went to relieve his lover of the little burden.
"See." Draco announced with an air of victory. He took out his parchment and quill and began to write out his homework without any further notice of the older wizard and the bushy haired witch.
A month into school, Lucius did a scan on the Gryffindor boy and was shocked by the results. Seamus watched him rush away with his film, without explaining to the father-to-be. Seamus was still in the dark when he met up with Dean and Neville for dinner. "He didn't tell me, but I'm afraid there's something wrong with our baby." the little Irishman said with a sniffle that could turn to tears with the slightest provocation.
"He'll be here for dinner, so I'll ask him." Dean offered and Neville nodded his agreement.
Lucius did not come to dinner and Seamus was so upset that Neville traveled to his least favorite place to get an answer for him. "Professor?" he said at the entrance to the potions classroom. "Professor S-snape?"
"What is it, Longbottom? I'm a bit busy." Severus said.
"I'm sorry to bother you, Professor. I was wondering if you knew what Mr. Malfoy found on Seamus' exam."
"Oh, is that all? So, he didn't tell you? Perhaps, he was keeping it for the other parent."
"Sir? Seamus just wants to know what he found."
"Finnigan doesn't know? Oh, Lucius. Come along, Longbottom. We'll get the film and take it to the prospective parents."
"Sir?"
"Finnigan and Thomas."
"Seamus, Dean and I are all involved, Sir." Neville squeaked.
Severus sighed as he reached the door and leaned against it. "I see. Let's just get the film. I already know more about this than I ever wanted."
"I didn't realize that I had forgotten to tell the boy, Severus." Lucius was arguing for the fourth time when the entered the dorm and found the group of students gathered around the weeping Irish boy. "Mr. Finnigan, my sincerest apologies. Come now, everyone but the involved parties, go on to your business. I'm sure you have studies to work on."
"Mr. Finnigan, here is your film. If you will notice here. There is nothing wrong with your babies, unless you count the fact that they appear to have multiplied." Snape announced as he handed the boy his test results.
"Multiplied, Sir?" Neville asked.
"Yes. The process of increasing numbers by . . ."
"Professor?" Dean interrupted. "How many babies is Seamus having?"
"Three, Mr. Thomas. It appears there are three."
"And in such a small boy, as Mr. Finnigan is, it will be a difficult process. We are going to suggest bed rest from this month on. Ms. Goyle is in agreement." Lucius added.
"Bed rest? Come on, Seamus. I'll help you up to bed." Dean offered as Seamus struggled to his feet. He was already very burdened by his pregnancy.
"How will he keep up his schoolwork, Professors?" Neville asked and the two men consulted.
"We will have to get him a private tutor. I'll speak with the headmaster." Snape suggested and Neville nodded before following his lovers up the stairs with their books and things.
In his dorm, Seamus allowed himself to be dressed and put between the covers. It was early October, and the autumn chill had begun to seep into the castle through the cracks in the stones. He shivered, but not from the cold. “I think he’s in shock,” Dean said as Neville entered. “Come on, he needs us. Expandim.” Dean waved his wand in the perfect way and the bed expanded to make room. He quickly stripped off and climbed in one side as Neville did the same on the other. With Seamus cuddled between them, they huddled close and soon his shivering ceased.
“Three.” He muttered and Neville smiled.
“Yeah, three.” Dean said. “You are having an entire family there.”
“But, three.” His voice sounded panicked.
“We’ll do whatever we can to help you. Don’t worry, Seamus.” Neville said.
“I’ll get a job, as soon as we get out of school.” Dean offered.
“But, you wanted to be a healer. You need to train for five years.” Seamus sounded like he was near to those tears again.
“Money isn’t a problem. Gran is thrilled that a little Longbottom might be in there. Imagine when she hears. She’ll set us up with an estate for sure. Just concentrate on yourself, Seamus. I’ll take care of you. We’ll both take care of you. Dean and me.”
Neville snuggled closer and Dean missed the feeling of being in the center of this group. He knew that Seamus needed them, but he was the dominant part of their little threesome. An idea came to him. “We need to be bonded. We need to make sure that Seamus’ babies are officially Longbottoms. We’ll talk to Professor Dumbledore in the morning. He’ll know what bonds we can enter into at our age and what will work best for our situation.”
The other two looked at him and Seamus smiled for the first time in hours. Dean knew he had solved their problems, for now.
Mrs. Finnigan was taller than her muggle husband, and her frame was straight and tall. She was a strict woman, when necessary, and a detail oriented person. Her class, which was held every Monday for the sixth year girls, was on time, followed a specific curriculum and never deviated. She had gone over the primary spells, for use when the monthly occurrence came to a girl, and the best ways to dispose of the things one needed for this time.
The first two months had gone very smoothly, with the exception of Hermione missing two days when Daniel had gotten sick and needed his mother’s care, everyone was actually enjoying the opportunity to learn things that many witches would normally have had to learn from their mothers. The bulk of muggle raised girls, or those whose parents were a bit inhibited about this topic was high.
This week, the course was to finally reach the point where contraceptives were discussed, and the whole school was a titter. Even the first years were overstimulated, though their classes included only basic cleaning charms and personal hygiene.
Professor Fawcette, who had asked to be called Professor Malcolm, was giving similar lessons, now that classes with the required lessons on male cleanliness and personal gratification were over. Draco had rolled his eyes and leaned closer to Harry, who had difficulty keeping his face neutral while his boyfriend whispered in his ear, “Will he be giving a visual demonstration or are we required to do an essay on this topic?”
“Perhaps he will be asking for us to prepare a paper and give an oral report.” Harry had returned and Draco had managed to blush to his ears, something the Chosen One found quite remarkable.
“And if you will all copy down these spells, along with the specific uses, we will have a practice lesson of casting. The first are lubrication spells, two for use with females, three for males, and the last are cleansing spells for . . eh, preparation. This is to be kept in the special scroll cases you were provided, that are only able to be opened by a wizard of age. Anyone found with these formulae out in front of an underage student will lose two hundred points for their house. Is that clear?” Professor Malcolm said.
A general murmur of agreement went through the group. Next, they had TAMF, with Professors Freddie Lincoln-Holmes and Don Windsor. Harry grabbed Draco’s arm and pulled him along, nearly causing the blond to drop his open bag onto the floor. “Hey there, Potter. Hold up a second. I’m not ready to go.” The Slytherin scowled.
“I hate getting stuck in the front of the class. It’s bad enough everyone knows what we’ve been up to, I don’t want to be on display. We’ve got to get there early to get seats near the middle.” Harry complained as Draco scooped his belongings into his bag and slung it over his shoulder.
“Is that all? I’ll protect you, Lovey. Come on.” And they made their way through the castle.
The All Male Family was held in the last classroom on the hall that led to the Ravenclaw tower and they had this class in combination with that house. Draco was one of only four Slytherins in the class, so they had put them in with the Gryffindors, who also had four. Ravenclaw boasted five, since the entire sixth year class seemed to consist of either gay or bisexual boys.
No Hufflepuffs were currently enrolled in this course, since they only had Ernie, and he refused to take it, claiming that he was not gay or bisexual, and that the class was for those who wanted to live with another man, not those who had made a foolish mistake.
“Denial much,” Blaise had commented to Draco after this announcement, and they shared a chuckle about it every so often.
Blaise had saved them seats, between himself and the two goons that had arrived the previous day, near the middle, but only three rows back. The giggles from the Ravenclaws at the back were embarrassing, but Harry slid in next to Crabbe, and smirked up at Dean and Neville in the row ahead of them. No one was in the front row, so it defeated the purpose of their position.
Professor Windsor came in and frowned. “I think we have some seats available. Those of you in the back row, come up here and take these three chairs, and those two.” He said and a groan rose from the Ravenclaws. When they had moved forward, Windsor had greeted Crabbe and Goyle and gotten them moved up to the seats next to Dean. “That’s better. Now, as soon as Freddie gets here, we can begin. Ah, there you are Love.”
Of the two, Freddie was the most demonstrative, and he came down the aisle with a flourish, kissing Windsor on the cheek and turning to smile at the class. “Lesson one for today, affection is never a bad thing.” He said and Don sighed.
“There is a place for anything, but that is to be determined by the wizards involved. Would anyone like to venture a place that they might not be comfortable with a display of affection?”
Neville raised his hand and Don pointed to him. “In Professor Snape’s presence.” He mumbled.
The class broke into laughter followed by avowals.
“The middle of Diagon Alley.” Another student, Terry Boot, offered.
“Especially when you’re there with your parents.” Anthony Goldstein said.
“The Great Hall.” Crabbe said, but this was greeted with a sneer from Michael Corner.
“Who’s gonna kiss you, Crabbe?”
Draco stood and growled at the Ravenclaws, “Better than your ugly mugg, Corner. Only a Weasley would kiss you.”
Harry tugged from one side and Zabini pulled on the other, but it was Professor Lincoln-Holmes that interceded. “Twenty points from Ravenclaw, for intolerance. Five from Slytherin for aggression, twenty to Slytherin for acceptance. We will have no such outbursts in the future. Am I clear Students?”
“Since you two are very vocal, let’s have your answers. Mr. Corner?” Professor Windsor asked.
“Uh, I guess the quidditch pitch?” Michael said.
“Mr. Malfoy?” Don turned.
“That’s easy. In front of my Father, or Professor Dumbledore.” Draco said.
“But, Dumbledore would be fine with it. He’s gay, after all.” Harry slipped and caught himself with a hand over his mouth. “Oh, I’m so sorry.”
“Quite alright, Harry.” The aforementioned Professor said from the door. “I am gay. Have been for decades. How is class going, Professors?”
“Fine, Headmaster. We were discussing the pros and cons of affection, and acceptance.” Freddie said.
“Ah, very important topics. I wonder if I might sit in for a bit? I fear my only relationship went terribly wrong, and I might have need of a pointer or two. Should I decide to enter into another.”
“You are quite welcome, Professor. Now, let’s talk about places where you might be comfortable with displays of affection. Anyone?” Windsor asked.
Harry raised his hand slowly, causing Draco to watch him in astonishment. The two professors nodded and he stood up slowly, “At a party, or dinner, maybe. Somewhere that friends were gathered who knew and accepted me and my . . . .”
“Boyfriend? It’s okay to say it, Mr. Potter.”
“Yeah, that’s what he is. My boyfriend.” He turned and smiled down at the blond and then stood taller. “And I don’t care who knows it!” he announced with a hint of threat in his voice.
“Good, very good. A party, among friends, these are great places. Anyone else?”
Harry sat down as Goyle raised his hand and Draco slid his arm around his lover. “I wanted to talk to you about something important, Harry.” The blond whispered and Harry turned. “Well, if we’re boyfriends, then we need to discuss some important things, right?”
Harry nodded and Draco smiled and gave him an innocent peck on the cheek.
“Not in class!” Zabini hissed, but Draco and Harry ignored him.
“I do.” Roger said and Snape leaned down and kissed him in front of the small gathering of witches and wizards that had been invited. Harry leaned closer to Draco and Cedric smiled from his place on the other side. They were seated on the side where Snape’s family would be, along with Lucius and Narcissa, the teaching staff and Headmaster. Hermione and Ron, with Ginny, George, Fred, Charlie, Bill and their parents were in the row behind them, and the entire Davies clan was taking up the other side. Roger had four brothers and two sisters, all older, and many cousins, aunts and uncles. His grandparents were there, too.
It was a nice ceremony and was followed by a pleasant party.
Draco had helped Cedric to a table and Harry filled his plate, before the two gathered their own food and joined him. The music was softly playing and the Hufflepuff sighed. “I wish I could dance. I love dancing.”
“I’d dance with you, if you wanted.” Draco offered but Cedric sighed again.
“I just can’t. My feet are swelling from just sitting here. You two go. I’ll just watch and you can both make it up to me later.”
“Come on, Potter.” The blond said but Harry hesitated.
“I can’t dance, Draco.” He sighed and Draco turned to Cedric.
“Of course, you can dance. Come on. I’ll lead.” He pulled Harry up and dragged him to the dance floor. They bumbled around for a bit, before exasperatedly returning. “You will learn to dance before our bonding, Potter. That was just embarrassing. We’ll work on it on Saturday, or no quidditch practice until you learn.”
“What?” Harry snapped.
“You heard me. A Malfoy that can’t dance? Preposterous!”
“Who said I was going to be a Malfoy?” Harry snapped.
“I did. You and Cedric both, but we should probably hyphenate Diggory with it.”
“What?” Harry rose and glared down at the blond. “You can forget that, Draco. I’ll keep my name, thank you.” And he turned and stormed off.
“This isn’t about dancing anymore, Draco. You need to work this out. By the way, I like the hyphen idea. Diggory-Malfoy. It has a difficult and complicated sound to it.” Cedric said with a scowl.
“Okay, so maybe that is a bit wrong. How about Potter-Diggory?” Draco asked and Cedric raised his eyebrows. “So, we’ll think of something else. Come on, let’s go. This party is a bore without Harry.”
AN: I've uploaded a little somethng for those who like M/F stories. It's Draco/Ginny, under that subcatagory. Try it, you might like it.
