A/N: Okay readers this is the final chapter in this story. But not to fear there will be a squeal!! I have this in three parts! So after this chapter be on the look out for "Right Here Waiting" it will take place five years after this chapter! There will be a small summary at the end of this chapter! I want to thank all of you for reading this. This was my first EVER fanfic and I'm so excited that you all have enjoyed this! It's been awesome to write and I can't wait for you all to read the next installment! So without further ado here's the final chapter to "What Is This Feeling?" Read on and Enjoy!
A/N 2: I used Trapt's "Only One In Color" I don't own it or make money off of it. They are my favorite band EVER and this song just fits. I also used Daughtry's "September" I don't own or make money off of it. I love it and it's such a beautiful song. Just a little foreshadowing for the the next storyline.
Chapter 25: New Years Eve
Riley woke up and smiled as she looked at Hermione getting ready for the day. Today was New Years Eve and she was excited. She would kiss Hermione at midnight and things couldn't be better. If some one asked her four months ago if she would be here she would laughed in their face. Four months ago she would've been on her own and trying to figure everything out with just her friends in her band. She would not have thought she would've met some great friends along the way or find a great support system. Yes, there is a danger out there still but right now all that mattered was that her friends were safe and happy.
She got out of bed and walked over to Hermione and wrapped her arms around her, "Good morning," she said kissing the other girl on her neck. Hermione leaned back and sighed, "Good morning. You slept well last night. No nightmares." Riley nodded. She hasn't had a nightmare the last few days which was good, she was finally getting the sleep she needed and she couldn't be more relieved about that.
"Are you excited about tonight?" Hermione asked and Riley nodded. Hermione turned around and wrapped her arms around her girlfriend. "I'm very excited. I have to meet the guys in about an hour to practice."
"I have to decorate the Great Hall for tonight then get ready for tonight."
Riley chuckled and shook her head. "What's so funny?"
"You need six hours to get ready again. I thought every one was going casual. I mean I'm just gonna wear my jeans and a t shirt." Hermione looked at her for a second then realized that this wasn't a ball she had to dress up for. She chuckled as well. "You're right I think we're just going to hang out and just have some girl time while you guys are practicing and the others will be with you." Riley leaned down and kissed her softly. No matter how many times she kissed her it felt like the first time. Hermione let a small moan escape her lips. Riley pulled her closer and was about to deepen the kiss when there was a knock on the door, "Riley let's go!" It was Kelsey.
Riley pulled away and sighed, "Okay I'll be out in fifteen!"
"I have to go any way I'll see you soon," Hermione said and gave her a final kiss, "I love you," she whispered.
"I love you," Riley responded. "Why don't you ever say 'I love you too'?" Hermione asked. Riley smiled as she grabbed her clothes, "I don't like saying it because it doesn't sound meaningful with the one I love. With my friends it's just cause it's platonic but with I'm in love with some one I want to let them know I love them. I want to mean so by saying 'I love you' I'm not agreeing that I love you I'm saying 'I love you and I mean it.'"
"You are so confusing sometimes."
Riley laughed, "But you love me," she said and pulled her close. "That I do," she kissed her again, "Okay I really have to go and you need to get ready. I love you."
"I love you and I'll see you soon," they kissed one more time and Hermione left the room with one last look at Riley and smiled as she walked out of the room. She saw Kelsey and Draco sitting on the couch. She went over to them and gave them each a kiss on the cheek, "Good morning," she said to the boys then walked out. The two friends looked at each other confused but then just shrugged it off. It didn't take long for Riley to get ready. She walked out of the room and saw Draco sitting with Kelsey. "Okay let's go," Kelsey said with a smile. Riley just shook her head as she followed her two friends out. They met up with everyone in the Room of Requirement and began to practice a few songs. Then they would do a sound check and hang out then get ready for New Years Eve.
This was the one they were most excited about because they could wear their causal clothes and not have to worry about getting too hot. Eric said he might just have to take off his shirt during their set and they all just laughed. Tonight was going to be a good night.

"We strike tonight as soon as the clock strikes midnight. Riley won't come to us so we will go to her." The girl with blonde hair and blue eyes looked around the room of her followers. "Jessie and Pansy will join us at the safe house. Once we have Riley in our grasp we will be unstoppable and the world will be ours."
"What about the boy?" Some one asked.
"We won't need him for a while. Once we have Riley the Potter boy won't be an issue until we need him." She looked around at the followers and turned to the window. She saw the Hogwarts castle and smirked, "We shall soon be reunited my love." This was the moment she was waiting for and in just a matter of hours Riley would be hers once again. It has been far too long since she has seen her and this time everything will fall into place. She finally put Jessie in her place and made sure what happened before wouldn't happen again. That plan didn't go as well as she had hoped. Also the Granger girl won't be in her way anymore. Not after tonight.
Riley's father set everything in motion the second Riley turned sixteen now that she was of age her power was strong. Along with her power she and Riley will be the most powerful witches the world has ever seen. It was just hours away and everything will be at her feet.

Hermione was hanging up some decorations for the party tonight. They finally changed it from "ball" to "party." She was making small talk with her friends like always. Talking about Riley and their boyfriends. Neville had gotten Ginny a promise ring and they ogled over it. It was nice and simple. Just a small band with a little heart and it was just a little something. Ginny loved it and she loved Neville. She never thought she would fall for some one like him but she has. They talked about tonight and how they would get ready right after this. Hermione told them that Riley was going to wear her jeans and a t shirt. The girls looked at her funny.
"What?"
"Why is she going to be wearing that? I thought they would dress up a little or something," Ginny said. Hermione just shrugged.
"I don't know I mean it make sense, since this is a party now. I would like to be comfortable when I dance you know." The girls thought for a moment and then it made sense. "You're right. Wearing something comfortable to dance in would make it a lot more fun," Luna said.
"Okay how about this we just pick out our outfits after this then go to the kitchens for some hot chocolate?" Emma asked. They all nodded in agreement just as Riley and the others walked in to set up the stage.
"I swear Hermione if I didn't have Neville I would be eating up your girlfriend." Hermione laughed at Ginny's comment. Riley was again wearing skin tight jeans and just a tank top showing off some of her tattoos. She cut her hair again. It was so short she asked what was it that short the other night. Riley said she liked it that way because her head could 'breath.' Riley called it a "crew cut" and went on to explain that it was kind of haircut that the men in military in the states get. Hermione nodded and then the next thing she did was research on it.
She watched as they set everything up and then they started to tune their guitars. It was sound check time and she was wondering what song they would do this time. She saw Draco give them the thumps up and they began to play.

Hermione could that that Riley was into this song and she couldn't help but feel that this song was exactly how she felt about her. She does tend to think out loud when she's studying or researching something. Riley has caught her plenty of times doing it and she just smiles at her as she blushes and goes back to what she was doing.

Riley looked over at Hermione and she just looked amazing in her jeans and jumper. She really did light up the room when she walked in. It didn't matter which room she lit it up. She also understood her more than anyone and she loved that about her.

Hermione felt her heart just burst with love for that girl. This song was just beautiful and she couldn't believe this is how she felt. Riley was open about most of her feelings but sometimes she did have a hard time to express herself. So for her to hear this song it meant a lot to her.

A wave of calm when I was so tightly wound and so full of doubt

After everything they've been through so far Hermione has been her calm, her strength, and her rock. She didn't know what she would do without. No matter what they went through she was always there by her side. She couldn't imagine her life without her.

Draco gave them two thumbs up as they finished the song. Riley couldn't take it anymore. She handed her guitar to Kelsey and jumped off the stage. She rushed up to Hermione and picked her up and kissed her. Putting all her love into the kiss. She could feel the tears falling onto her face. Every time she played this song she thought of Hermione. No matter what she was going through Hermione pulled her through. She loved her with all she had and she didn't want to let go of her ever.
She put her down and pulled away breathless. She wiped away her tears and kissed her forehead, "I love you so much," she whispered. Hermione just closed her eyes and held her close. Everyone looked on and couldn't help but smile. The two stood there like that for a while until Kelsey and Ginny pulled them apart. She still had to decorate for the party. They kissed one more time and finally let go. Tonight Riley was sure she wanted to marry Hermione. She wanted to spend the rest of her life with her. But they still wanted to take it one step at a time and not rush. So she thought of the next best thing.

The Great Hall was finally finished and the girls decided to meet in Hermione's room again with the outfits the picked out and then they all would decided on what would look amazing. The guys and Riley were hanging out in her room teaching Harry, Ron, Draco and Neville how to play Mortal Kombat. They were all yelling different things that they didn't notice the girls walk in to check and see why there was yelling going on.
"No! No! Use the combo I showed you!" Riley shouted at Ron.
"How the bloody hell do you play this game?!" Ron shouted back.
"No! Block! Block him for fuck's sake!" Kelsey shouted at Draco.
"What the fuck?! How do you win this thing?!" Draco shouted back. It ended with Draco winning the match. He high fived everyone and then hand the controller to Harry and Ron to Neville. The girls stayed quiet and continued to watch. After a few minutes the shouting started again.
"Oh come on use the punch combo!" Eric shouted.
"Fucking kick you moron!" Neville shouted and Ginny gasped and then giggled.
"No! Use the 1,2 combo!!" Mike yelled
"Punch him you shitty nancy boy!" Harry shouted.
"You almost got him!" Ryan yelled.
That match ended with Neville winning to his surprise. They all patted him on the back and gave him high fives. "Okay who's next?" Riley asked.
They girls decided to leave, "What were they doing?" Luna asked.
"Playing a video game. It's in the Muggle world," Hermione sort of explained.
"Why do they get so worked up over it?" Emma asked. Hermione shook her head, "I have no idea. But when Riley plays by herself and I'm trying to study it would be quiet then she would curse at the screen. I never know why though. Then she would get mad and walk out of the room and meet up with Kelsey and the would sit by the lake and smoke cigarettes."
"That's very strange," Susan said. They made it to the kitchens and walked in and sat down at the table. Dobby came over and asked if they needed anything. They each asked for a hot chocolate. Hermione looked at her watch they have a couple of hours until the dance. Tonight was going to be a good night.

"Everyone to your places. It's only hours away and we shall go in unnoticed. Take Riley and then we will be victorious!" The people around her cheered. She has been watching and waiting for too long. Tonight was the night she was waiting for. The plan would work perfectly and everything that Riley knew would no longer be. As she watched everyone file out to get ready for the night of nights she took out a picture of Riley and kissed it softly, "Shortly my love we will be one once again" she put the picture back into her pocket and walked out ready to take on the night.

The Hogwarts New Years Eve Party was in full swing. Outsiders just finished another song and it was ten minutes to midnight.
"Okay everybody we got ten minutes to midnight, so this next song will be our final one until after the clock strikes twelve. While during this song find that one person you want to kiss at midnight. This song is one of my favorites and I hop you like it as well."
Hermione watched as Riley and her friends talked for a minute then, the music began to softly play.
"How the time passed away, all the trouble that we gave

And all those days we spent out by the lake

Has it all gone to waste? All the promises we made

This was a different song than what she was used to. She couldn't help but feel that something was wrong. She looked around but couldn't find anything. She felt Harry next to her and he looked at her as if to say if she was okay and she just nodded.
"Now it all seems so clear, there's nothing left to fear

So we made our way by finding what was real

Riley also couldn't help but feel something was off. Her ring wasn't getting warm or anything. But she knew something was wrong. She looked around and found Hermione standing with Harry watching them. Emma was with Draco, Ginny and Neville were in a loving embrace watching them, Susan was with Justin and Luna was slow dancing with Ron. So everyone was there but why did it feel like something was wrong.
"Yeah, we knew we had to leave this town,

But we never knew when

They ended the song and everyone cheered. But that feeling was still there Riley just smiled and looked at Hermione, "Okay we're close to midnight every one grab that special someone!" She hopped off the stage and made a beeline for Hermione. She took her in her arms as a song began to play. They looked at each other and just smiled. Then the countdown began.

"1" Everyone shouted and the couples kissed. Riley and Hermione were kissing softly and holding each other close. No one saw what happened next. Everything went dark and everybody thought it was partly because there might be a surprise at the end. Riley and Hermione pulled away noticing that it was dark. They looked confused. "What's going on?" Hermione asked. Kelsey rushed up to Riley and whispered something in her ear. She just nodded. "Dumbledore wants me and the guys to check out what's going on. I'll be back I promise. I love you." She kissed Hermione deeply and then her forehead. "I love you" she said again. "I love you be careful."
"Always" Riley smirked and kissed her one more time and with that Riley left Hermione's arms.
Hours went by and Hermione's charm bracelet started to get warm around her wrist. She didn't know why then she noticed that Ginny's locket was glowing bright. Then, Draco was trying to get his ring off. Her eyes widened and she rushed to find Harry. He too was trying to get his ring off. "Harry something's wrong!"
"My ring is burning and I can't get it off!"
"Riley's in danger! That's her signal!"
"What are you talking about?" He asked and his ring started to glow but there was no more burning sensation. Ron, Luna, Susan, Emma, Ginny, Neville, and Draco found them. Each of them either had a ring or a necklace letting off this bright light.
"What's going on? I can't find Eric!" Susan said as the tears started to fall. Ginny wrapped her arms around her friend. Dumbledore came over to them with sorrow in his eyes. "I'm afraid I have terrible news."

Riley struggled against her bounds trying to get free. She had a hood over her head so she couldn't seen anything. She could barely hear, "Fuck!" she heard.
"Kelsey?"
"Riley thank God! What's going on?"
"I don't know. I remember we were going outside then all black."
"Guys where are we?"
"Eric?"
"This is so not cool!"
"Ryan?
"Jessie I swear on my sister's grave I will kill you!"
"Now, now dear brother we don't need any of the that talk." A voice said. They're struggling stopped and they froze. "It can't be" Mike said. One by one their hoods were removed. Riley's being last, it took a few seconds for her eyes to adjust. She looked at the person standing in front of her and she caught a breath in her throat.
"Hello love, did you miss me?" She walked up to Riley and kissed her on the lips roughly, "Happy New Year." She said with a smirk.
A/N: WHAT?! What's going to happy to Riley and her friends? What about Hermione and everyone at Hogwarts? Will Riley and Hermione be reunited? What about Eric and Susan? What plans is this woman talking about? Why do they want Riley so bad? What power does she have? Why did they need the band? So many questions that will be answered in "Right Here Waiting" Now here's that summary I promised.

It's been five years since Riley and her friends vanished without a trace on the Hogwarts grounds. Now after five years Riley and her friends are one of the biggest bands in the entire world. Hermione and her friends finally find them but they aren't the same. Can Hermione stop Riley from making the biggest mistake of her life? But can she help the girl she fell in love with remember her?
"Right Here Waiting" will be up in a few short weeks! Thank you all again for reading this! I loved writing it and now that it's over for this part I am sad.
