Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
AN: So, with the first marriage of many, let's get back to our little family.
Unneeded: More on Percy’s wedding here, plus Ron and his woman. Don’t worry, things will iron out there. They’ll keep looking for a place until they find it. Got to get those elves established before Winky has her baby.
Anon: Good instincts. Just watch this.
LadyFireCrab: Sorry to keep you waiting.
Shares: Welcome. Yes, they had better find a house soon, right?
Gobert: Lon Derrick is a Hydra. Did I say that Draco would only have two little ones? Or that there would only be four redheads? Yikes, and then some, huh? Oh, and I tend to spell adventure with an N. Don't remove it though, I thought it inspiring.
A special thanks goes to Anna, for her input on the scene with Susan. I'm crap at M/F.
Chapter Twenty-Six: The Rules of Love
Creature Infants: Little blessings with big claws
After they are born, most creature young are no different from other babies. They do tend to come with a few special needs, but other than this, and the tendency to release accidental magic at around two to seven years of age, they are just adorable little beasts.
Until they reach the age of inheritance, it is often impossible to know if a child will bear the traits of its parent breed, so many children are unprepared for the special needs of their race, and when they are away at the time of maturity, they may become violent and destructive. This is the reason for the inception of the Department of Magical Creatures and its subsequent divisions
Some breeds display a trace at birth, a sign for their parents, that is lost quickly after. Among these are Veela, Chimeara, Faun and Dragonites. The later being born by hatching from eggs. Otherwise, there is no evidence of early indicators. However, there is little information about the rarest breeds.
The crowd had dispersed to the greenhouse and Harry followed his mates, his thoughts were on new information and he was trying to process it all. He nearly collided with Oliver when the group stopped near the double doors. Harry looked up to find Kingsley standing in front of them.
"Harry, I have been meaning to speak with you. Have you got a minute?" the temporary Minister said and Harry smiled and nodded. "I thought we might use a classroom for privacy. This way."
As they turned down a hallway, Harry noticed they were followed by an old school mate of his. "Lee, how are you?" Harry asked and the dark boy smiled.
"Oh, I'm fine. I've been busy, but I like my job. How have you been?"
"Good. I'd love to chat, but Minister Shakelbolt is waiting to speak with me. Will you be staying for the dancing?" Harry asked but Lee chuckled at his question.
"Oh, I don't know. I guess that depends on how you deal with the conversation you're about to have. Don't mind me, I'm just here to meet my brother." Lee said with a smirk and a shift of his brows.
"Really? Well, that's nice."
"Come along, Harry." Kingsley said from the doorway and Harry hurried forward. Before he entered, he noticed that Lee had followed him and Kingsley seemed to expect him. "Have a seat, both of you."
"Minister Shakelbolt, I don't understand. . ." Harry began but Lee raised his hand to stop the other young man's words.
"The Minister is my father, Harry. My full name is Lee Jordan Shakelbolt. I used the shortened version in school, because he was an auror and it was safer for me if nobody knew he was my dad."
Realization came like a bolt of lightening. "You're my last brother!"
"Not the last, more like the first." Lee smirked.
"Actually, the second, but that's not important." Kingsley said with a smile.
"Yes, Roger would be the first, right?" Harry laughed as he spoke, so happy to have finally completed the puzzle of his father's children. "So, you, Roger Davies, Terry Boot, Zolotha Bolt, Nymphadora Tonks, Pansy Parkinson and Fleur Delacour. That's quite a family."
"All of them? I thought you said I had a couple of siblings?" Lee turned on his father.
"I said a few." Kingsley corrected. "I never said a couple. And it is a few, quite a few. Don't get too excited. Most of them are new to the idea and won't be thrilled to be thrown into a family quite so quickly."
"Most of them are just as thrilled as I am, Kingsley. Other than Fleur and Pansy, the rest have told me how excited they are just to find out they aren't only children. I bet they'd love to have Lee."
"See. What are we gonna do about this, Harry?" Lee asked and Harry laughed.
"I think we need to plan a party, or something. I bet the twins would . . . . Oh, maybe not." Harry said with a sigh. "I don't want to put any strain on them."
"Fred and George? What's wrong?" Lee asked and Kingsley leaned forward on the stool where he sat.
Harry looked torn, wanting to share his news with his brother, and a good friend of the twins', but afraid of the consequences of their heritage getting out. "They may be . . ."
Kingsley barked out a laugh and the two boys looked at him. "Oh, dear. I'm sorry, Harry. Forgive me, please. I just realized what this means. Lee, he's his father's heir. His mother was a pure human, so Harry would be just as James was. You know what I told you, remember?" Lee nodded and the man continued. "So, whatever the twins heritage is, they would have been drawn to Harry by it. They're pregnant, right?" Harry nodded and Lee looked shocked. "Don't worry, Mr. Potter. I have kept the secret of James' creature for many years, I won't give yours away so easily. I assume the Weasley heritage is secret for a similar reason, yes?"
"I can't tell you, I'm sorry." Harry said and the man shook his head.
"No need to be. I won't pry. I may be Minister, but I know that the policy of the Ministry, with regard to some lines, is archaic. I guess we should return to the party, yes?"
"Right. But, Fleur, Tonks and Terry are all here. Can't we just tell them?" Harry suggested. "I'll bet they’re thrilled."
"I suppose, but use caution. It is still a dangerous world, even without dark lords in it." Kingsley suggested and Harry nodded.
"Hey, Angelina's here too. I want to tell her. She'll be pleased. We're engaged, you know?" Lee said and Harry grinned. "Come on, let's go." the three wizards left the classroom and returned to the wedding feast. Lee found Angelina while Harry and his mates gathered his other siblings and brought them together. It was a crowning touch to an already perfect celebration.
Before they left, Fleur and Bill, as well as Terry, Marcus and their little boy, Donovan, promised to come to Grimmauld Place for dinner the next weekend, to spend time with Lee and Angelina. Tonks was busy, but said she and Remus would host a get together later on. They also agreed to invite as many other siblings as could make it.
Harry had one last detail to sort out before he and his family returned to their home. He wove through the guests until he found his godfather and the moody potions professor. "Why didn't you tell me?" he said with a false grin plastered across his face. Sirius looked up from his piece of cake and tilted his head while Severus glared at the younger man.
"Mr. Potter, is there a reason that you are speaking in that tone?" Severus said.
"Tone? I have to find out that my godfather is . . . pregnant . . . in the middle of a public event, and you're concerned about my tone?" Harry said, which sent Sirius into guffaws and caused Severus to pinch the bridge of his nose.
"And how many of your 'partners' are expecting, Mr. Potter?" Severus asked.
"Only three, why?" Harry asked.
"Really? You didn't owl us about that, did you?" Snape added.
"No." Harry mumbled.
"No. So, why were we expected to inform you promptly, when you do not extend the same courtesy to us?"
"I'm sorry. I didn't know you wanted me to." Harry said. "The twins just found out a week ago."
"Well, we've only know for a couple of weeks ourselves." Sirius said and Severus looked around. "We didn't even know we would be compatible. There's no telling what the child will come out as, either. The two lines are submissive to most others. That's why the Blacks usually inbreed, and there are so few Metamorphagi."
"He will be powerful, that's for certain." Severus added with a proud smile.
"Of course, he will. And, I'm betting he ends up in Slytherin." Harry laughed and the two men looked up. "That much power always does. Don't worry, McGonagall will keep him in control."
"Indeed." Severus snorted. "If my child ends up in Slytherin, I will be its head of house."
"Eloise? I was hoping to speak with you. Can you spare a moment for a sister?" Fleur asked the smaller woman as they waited for the two Weasley men to bring their coats from the closet where the house elves had put all such things for the wedding guests.
Eloise Weasley turned to her future sister-in-law and smiled brightly. "I guess we will be sisters soon, so sure."
"I think of you this way already," Fleur said as she settled on one of the benches in the entry hall. "I wanted to go here, once. I told my father that it was the greatest school, but he and my grandmere believed I was safer in France. I came here for the tournament, and that was when I knew that I had to come home to England when I left school. I wanted to work here, to be near my family and watch my little brother grow up. Family is very important, n'est pas?"
"Sure. I don't have much, you know. Just me and my mother. My father died in the first war." Eloise let her smile dip for a second and Fleur caught it.
"You do so very much to please others, yes? What do you get from them in return?"
"I beg your pardon?"
"It is good to give, but you must not neglect yourself. You are important, too. I heard from Bill that you are such a wonderful woman, that you take such good care of your husband, but he says that you do not take care for yourself. I think that it will be hard for you, when you must care for your children, with no help. I hope you will make sure to ask for help, when you need it."
"I can take care of myself."
"And so you should. If you do not, who will do it for you?" Fleur rose and smiled, her full Veela charm flowing into the other girl. "Do not forget what I have said, yes?"
Eloise smiled back, "I won't." she said and her mind decided that her sister-in-law was completely right.
Ron sauntered up, carrying her coat over his arm. Her smile was fatal.
A week after the wedding, Harry descended to the third floor of his home and rapped lightly on Susan's door. “Come in,” She sang out and he entered.
“Hey, Susie.” he said, walking over to her and sliding his arms around her. The towel she wore came loose and dropped to the floor. Harry flashed his wand at the door and it threw itself closed and the lock clicked. “I like that greeting.” he said.
Before she could retort, Harry leaned down to suckle a damp nipple between his teeth, coaxing it to a firm pebble on his tongue as his hands rode down and cupped her bottom and pulled her flush to him. He rose up and covered her tiny mouth with his, lifting her up so that her legs wrapped around his hips and her arms wove around his shoulders.
“Mmmm.” she cooed as he walked her to the bed, a sturdy construction that held a fluid-like mattress with no covers or pillows. Susan slid back as he put her on it, and pulled him down. He followed easily, slipping his jumper over his head and tossing it to the floor.
Though it took longer to get him naked, Susan didn't complain as she watched him pull off the layers that separated them. When he stripped off his boxers, she was greeted by his turgid flesh and she crawled forward to engulf him before he could climb onto the bed.
“Oh, Shit, Susie!” he cried as she took him deeper than any of his other mates. “Oh, yes.”
Though her lips and tongue were most talented, and she gave fabulous head, she had asked him never to climax in her mouth, so he had to push her away. She grinned up at him, licking her lips and swimming back into the middle of the sleep 'pool'.
Harry followed. He crawled up her body, laving her legs, calves, knees and thighs, with his tongue and mouth, nipping playfully here and there, flipping her over to gnaw on her fleshy bottom as his fingers tickled at her, finding her folds and delving inside.
She squirmed in his grasp, rolling back to look up with lust fogged eyes, her breathing fast and shallow. “Oh, Harry. I've missed this.” She cried and Harry shifted to kissing his way across her belly and down to his prize.
Sex with Susie was always wet and sloppy, dealing more with taste than talking and she was quickly ready for almost anything. They had enjoyed coupling in both human and Selkie forms, in and out of water, though the tubs at Grimmald Place left much to be desired, for wizard space in a bathroom had its limits.
“We need a pond or a pool,” She told him, as he dropped down to bury himself in her, his nose tickled by her silky hairs. “Ah, God! Yes, There. Right there.”
He was rewarded for his efforts by a flush of fluids and he smirked as he rose and climbed to face her, licking the tip of her nose as his hips thrust forward, entering her smoothly. She encased him in soft, wet heat and her body spasmed around him. “Mmm, Susie.” he growled and began to move.
Soon, he was thrusting furiously, causing the bed to roll like waves and Susan clawed at him to maintain contact. They kissed intermittently, between nips and cries, growls and exclamations.
Susan climaxed again, screaming his name as she tightened her legs around him and he pulled her up, kneeling with her straddling his lap, his cock buried deep inside of her. She rode him, taking the initiative to move faster or slower as she wished, but he didn't complain no matter which she chose.
When she began to feel the strain in her legs, and they were both coated with a sheen of perspiration, Harry pulled free and turned her away, hauling her upon hands and knees, reaching forward to cup her breasts as he entered her again, rolling his hips as he chewed flirtingly along her shoulders and neck. Her hair fell in waves over her face, blocking her view in a cascade of brown.
She came again, bucking against her mate who followed her, squeezing her breasts as he pounded into her and climaxed with a tide of passion.
They fell together onto the bed, splashing the mattress against the frame. They rolled to their sides and fell asleep to the gentle rolling waves of the magically warmed bed.
Harry woke before Susan and he took his clothes with to get an early morning shower before the rest of the house woke. He was clean, dressed and in the kitchen, having tea by the time his mates began making their appearance.
The twins left for the store, along with Seamus who was helping them with paperwork and sales, Cedric for the Ministry and Susan for her job with a firm of magistrates, where she was currently a legal aid, but studying to become a defender. Harry finished his breakfast and followed Blaise and Oliver to the apparation point. He was feeling down, since they had visited ten homes and still found nothing that would fit their needs.
“Good weather, at least.” Blaise suggested.
“Wind is nice. We could go for a flight later. What do you say, Harry?” Oliver asked.
“Let's just hope we find a good place, today. I've got a good feeling.” Harry tried to sound positive, but his two mates were not fooled.
“I've promised to play wizard chess with Draco after lunch, so we should hurry up.” Blaise said and Harry looked back up at the door to the house.
The reminder of his pregnant Veela was all he needed to get a determined look on his face and take his other mate's hands and apparate them away with a, “Right. Let's do this.”
Doverton Hall, Misty Hills, Ravenskeep and Lownsound Manor were all poorly suited to the needs of the family, and the three wizards joined the realtor for lunch in a restaurant in Origin Alley, where Harry sighed and said, “Hiram, I don't think we're going about this right. We need a lot more space and a lot of particular magic. What are we missing in these listings?”
“Have you considered a castle?” Blaise suggested and the little man ogled them.
“Castles? Why didn't I think of that? Why, castles have many unique aspects that these other homes wouldn't. I could pull up the listings and we could go next week. I think it's perfect. I'll owl you in the morning.”
“A castle? Like Hogwarts?” Harry said.
“Not like Hogwarts, but smaller. Castles are bigger than manors and estates, but some are just the size we would need. They were built to have special magic to protect them, and those built by muggles were often adapted when taken over by magic folk.” Oliver explained. "They are often cheaper than you'd expect."
“I loved living in the castle. I'd like to look at a few. So, next week?” and it was agreed upon.
Reorganization of the family's schedule was easier than any of them thought. Until Luna joined them, the twins shared a day, so there was still only seven nights at one, or a pair, per. Starting on Sunday, the schedule was: Seamus, Cedric, Susan, the twins, Blaise, Oliver and then Draco.
Tuesday was the first day that Draco refused to leave his room for anything other than dinner, Susan was acting moody and the twins were sequestered in the potions lab the family had built in the basement. Harry was trying to study the books Isabel had given him, when the fire flared.
“Mr. Potter, your godfather would like for you to visit. He has arranged for a dinner that you and your harem are invited to.” Snape's face in the blue flames looked stressed, but he seemed excited at the same time. Harry was sure his eyes were strained, so he rubbed them with his fingers while he closed the book and leaned onto the hearth.
“Okay, we'll come. When?” he asked.
“Tomorrow. I'll send a portkey, so that Draco won't be injured in apparating or floo travel. I understand he's been expressing some difficulties.” the statement bore the earmarks of a question, and Harry blinked a few times before deciding it was the closest Snape could come.
“Yes. He stays in his room, except to eat. He seems tired easily and even more pale than usual.” Harry knew that Draco thought of Snape as a godfather, just as Sirius was to him, so he wasn't surprised when the man looked concerned.
“Have you spoken to Lucius about this?”
“No. Draco usually visits his parents on Saturday mornings. Do you think they should be called?”
“I'll speak to him when I call them later. I've got to call Lupin and send out some owls first.” Snape looked distracted, then said quickly to someone behind him. “I said I would do it. I can speak civil with your friends. Sit, Black!”
Harry was about to speak when Snape turned back to him. “Just be here tomorrow. If I stay on any longer, I may give away your godfather's news.” and the firecall was cut short.
Harry sat up, stunned by the sudden departure of his old professor. He rose from the hearth and went down to the kitchen, where Blaise and Oliver regularly went when they got home from work.
“Harry,” Blaise called putting down the plate in his hand, a sandwich and some pickle chips arranged there. “You look odd.”
“Just got a strange call. We're invited to dinner with Snape and Sirius.”
“That won't be awkward.” Oliver snarked.
“Professor Snape is all right.” Blaise announced. “During the holidays, he would throw a party for his house that was more fun than the ones my mother had for us.”
“You had parties?” Oliver asked and the Slytherin smirked. “Man, I wish I'd have been a snake.”
“So, are we going?” Blaise perked up.
“Snape said Sirius had something to tell me. I'm going just for that. I'd like you all to come. I just hope it's not something bad about his baby.”
“I'll be there, and if it was something about the baby, they wouldn't throw a party for it. Unless it's good news.”
“I'll come, too.” Oliver agreed.
“Now, do you think we'll be able to convince Draco to go out?” Blaise acknowledged the elephant in the room.
Cedric had arranged for a short day so that he could be available for the dinner at Sirius and Snape's, and he greeted Harry in the parlor as he got his robes straight, “Morning Harry.”
“Lo, Kitten. You look happy. Big plans for today?”
“Usual. Likely be causing Percy some difficulties.”
“I'll buy into that.” Fred said from the doorway as he led his brother into the room. “What ya doing to him?”
“He's pushing some legislation through that will make it mandatory for muggleborns to be sought out at pre-Hogwarts ages. He thinks it's to aid them into the wizarding society, but it smacks of pure-blood separatists.”
“They find the children younger and teach them to keep their place?” Harry suggested.
“In the disguise of preparing them for the difficulties of absorbing them into the society. Pretend to make them fit in, but instead you keep them aware of their status.”
“So, you gonna block it?” Fred asked.
“We've got it in research. They have to determine how to find the little witches and wizards, what tack to take with their muggle parents and how to deal with them. If the law passes, there will have to be special instructions, special registrations, teachers, paper pushers and agents. They'll have to determine the best ages for interventions and just how much to train them. Could take decades.”
“Proud of you, Diggory. You've learned to be a good Percy brother. We'll have to bring home something to celebrate.”
“You're going to the store today?” Harry asked.
“Just to make sure that the inventory gets fed, Harry. We'll be back in plenty of time to go to S & S's party. Relax.” George said, giving Harry a quick peck on the right cheek while Fred took care to anoint his other side. Cedric chuckled and when they moved toward the floo he stepped up to his lover.
“I'll be back soon, too.” and he kissed the side Fred had, before following them into the fireplace. Harry shook his head and waved.
Kreacher popped in and Harry jumped. “What is it, Old Man?”
“Master Draco be saying he won't go to house of Lord Black and Master Snape. He be in his room, sulking.”
Harry laughed at the face his elf made, patting him on the shoulder. “I'll take care of it. Don't worry, Old Man. I'll get everyone cleared out so you and Winky can have a quiet evening together.” and he headed for the stairs.
The portkey was a ragged belt that was delivered by a post owl along with an envelope directing them to open it only after they had arrived. To make it easier, and to override any objections, they all gathered inside of Draco's bedroom. The blond had complained for fifteen minutes, before Harry shut him up with a kiss that included a probing tongue and a hearty grab of an arse cheek. Before the Veela could recover, Harry grabbed the belt, putting it into Draco's hand as the rest of his harem took hold.
The group was deposited in a field of lush green grass, bordered by another planted with tall stalks of barley. Cedric and Blaise held Draco as Oliver guided Harry and Luna to the ground.
Harry looked around as Oliver opened the envelope and read the letter inside. He passed it around until each mate had an opportunity, that ended with the Chameleonis.
“Andromeda Black Tonks invites you to the home of Sirius Black and Severus Snape, Heartridge Hall.”
The field misted over and when the sudden fog lifted, a stone foundation rose up two stories high and nearly the width of the entire block of Grimmauld Place. There was a row of fruit trees at one end and a rustic fence around a section of land at the other. Harry suspected it to be a kitchen garden, though Snape would likely plant it full of potion ingredients.
“Don't just stand there gawking, come in.” Sirius called from the doorway. “Do you need help with my cousin, Harry?”
The Chosen One realized he still had his arm around the blond, who was flushed with anger at the surviving Black's comment. Harry scooped him up and headed toward the house, ignoring the spitting Veela he held. “Nah, Sirius. I've got him.” He placed Draco on his feet in the entry hall and moved away quickly, before any retribution could come his way.
While Sirius showed the around the house, Snape greeted their other guests. Pansy, Dora, Remus, Lee, Angelina, Terry and Marcus, with little Donovan in a carry pack on Flint's back. Dinner was ready by four and they entire group arranged themselves around a large oak table.
Three elves, that Harry had never seen before, popped in with trays of food, delicacies and hearty dishes to please any palate. Conversation was light, Susan and Luna pressed Terry about his delivery and what he still needed for the baby. He admitted to being rubbish at shopping for infant needs, but said that Marcus' mother had taken him and filled in the necessary items.
“Well, we'll take you out for things Donovan will need to grow into. I'll call Isabel and the Patils, so they can come too. You want to go, don't you, Patsy?” Susan called down the table.
“Oh, sure.” Pansy agreed, but she was nudged by Dora.
“We'll both come. Got to do some bonding with our new nephew. And I think Harry should invite Fleur and Zyolotha to go with us. He can call them and give them my floo address. I do not intend to be left out of all the sibling doings. Remus, you don't mind, do you?”
“Me? I'm fine with that. Terry, do you need anything?” he asked his son.
“A chew bone?” Terry teased and the entire group guffawed at his joke.
“So, what was your news, Sirius?” Harry broached and conversation dropped to a whisper.
“Let's have our tea and coffee in the formal parlor, shall we? There's more room to get comfortable there.” Snape said, rising and leaning over to Sirius. “And less sharp utensils.” he added quietly.
The group relocated, spreading out around an unlit fireplace that displayed a pastoral scene. Sirius waited until everyone was seated, Harry between Luna and Blaise, Dora and Remus next to Pansy and Draco, alone in a firm looking lounge, with the twins by his feet. Terry and Marcus found a love seat near the wall and Oliver, Cedric and Susan sat in chairs that were scattered among them. Snape stood behind the Black heir, his eyes looking overprotective.
“Well, I know you've heard that Slughorn is going back into retirement. So, you've probably guessed who is replacing him. And as he's been elected the Official New Minister, Kingsley is stepping down as Defense teacher.”
“So, I'll be taking back that position,” Remus announced as Sirius paused.
“Right. What no one know yet, is that McGonagall is feeling her years and wants to leave the school. She's a few great nieces that she plans to dote on for her golden years.” Sirius looked around a second or two. “And Dumbledore has asked me to take on the classes. I was spot on in transfigurations Even got an “O” on my NEWTs.”
“That's great news, Sirius.” Harry said.
“The way you two were going on, we thought you'd contracted some incurable Muggle disease, or something.” Draco bit out.
“Well, that's not all.” Sirius grinned so widely that his face looked in danger of cracking.
“What else?” The twins said in unison.
“Harry, and a few of the others, already know that it turns out there's a positive compatibility between Kumiho and Metamorphagus, and I'm pregnant. We went to a specialist, and it turns out I'm carrying triplets, three boys. They appear to be in my line, so it's a litter.” Sirius joked and the group cheered and congratulated him, but Harry sat back and glared at his potions teacher.
Before they left, he hugged Sirius and told him to call if he needed anything, something that the man laughed about. “I remember a time when I was the one telling you something similar. Any luck with the house-hunting? I know that Hiram is looking, He's the best, don't underestimate him.”
“He's looking for castles. Draco has doubts, but everyone else is hopeful. I've a good feeling about it.”
“Good. I'll be glad to be rid of that old house, don't worry about selling it. Hiram will get it offloaded.”
“Are you sure, Sirius? You grew up there.”
“Do you want to keep #4 Privet Drive? You grew up there.”
“Point taken. We have a deadline, two months from now, and we'll be out.”
“Draco that far along?”
“Nope. House elf is. Winky needs to be bonded before she has her baby. I've got to hand it to Kreacher, he's still got it.”
“That old curmudgeon? Ha, ha. Harry, you just made my day. Call me, sometimes. Won't you?”
Harry took his family home, quickly rushing the rest of the harem out of Draco's room, and they all fell back into schedule, with a quick kiss for his veela, Harry followed the twins to their room.
Laying eggs was surely the most efficient way to give birth, and the three of them lay in her nest, pearly white with pale green specks, the size of bread loaves. Cho hovered over them, guarding them diligently and turning them to keep them warm. The nest was magically heated, but it was important to keep the eggs warm on each side and so she turned them, almost continually.
Viktor knew that this would be the schedule kept in his home for the next five months, since his parents had taught him Dragonite lore from his fourth hatchingday. He fed his mate, kept the cave clean and made sure she slept some. She would only do this when he forced her, by taking on the egg turning and singing to her. She couldn't resist the song of her mate, unless he was not right next to her eggs, handling them expertly.
Most newly mated men would find the lack of sex a hardship, but a dragonite male was a patient lover, able to wait the entire breeding cycle for the affection that it earned him from his mate. Viktor knew that his devotion would eventually have its own reward, in an insatiable female dragonite that would require so much of him, that he might need weeks worth of sleep to recover from. and it would be at least five years before they were fertile again.
So were the ways of the dragon breeds.
