It was another four months before Hermione Granger could fully change her name to Hermione Malfoy. The month after her wedding to Lucius Malfoy was spent traveling as far as they could before business pulled them back. Hermione, with Severus’s help, opened up a little apothecary one not filled with ingredients but ready-made potions. She covered everything from contraceptives, to headache potions and even had fun potions for children to buy. She refused to be the potions teacher at both Lucius’s school and Hogwarts but she still helped Scorpius learn as much as possible before school started up.

In the store she rightly named “Grangers Potions” the front of it was dedicated to the selling of potions that she had made herself. To the right side of the front counter was a medium sized room that she had filled with potions that were for fun. On the left side of the counter was a hallway all the way at the end of that hallway was a bookstore with all the magical books one could want in there. There was a door in the middle of the hallway that led to the ‘classroom’ where children were allowed to come in and attempt to make their own fun potions under the watchful eye of the store owner. Her store had started off slowly but with the name ‘Malfoy’ behind it and with so many children coming over from the Weasley’s joke shop slowly it picked up.

With her finals in her apprenticeship at the ministry and the preparations of the wedding followed by the festivities itself, then the honeymoon, then opening and launching her store it was a year before she could even think about doing anything for herself. Though there was a little over twelve months between her conversation with Severus and now she hadn’t forgotten his question. She had told Lucius about what he’d asked and though the blonde man had been angry initially he simmered down and could now understand why he would ask for that though he still hadn’t said that it was alright. She insisted, with fear that he didn’t want children, that he spend time with Remus and Tonks and their children and she was sure that it was working. Angel was the perfect baby and with Bellatrix’s soul within her she made a very intelligent baby though he first word ended up being ‘mudblood’ which horrified her parents so much that Lucius insisted she tell them about what Bella had done.

Hermione had spent about two weeks trying to convince Severus to just cross over and not be reborn. She’d even gone as far as to remind him that she would be changing his nappies and bathing him which would be embarrassing to him. However, as he pointed out to her it wouldn’t be embarrassing to him as he would be a baby and the thought that their mother seeing them naked was horrifying to any male at some point in their lives. She had sighed and walked off muttering about not really wanting to be the mother of her one time professor and that was the night that she first realized her birth control potion tasted off. She hadn’t been too sure in the beginning but slowly it got weaker and weaker until she was so sure that she was merely drinking colored water.

“Hermione?” Lucius called to her as they were both sitting in complete silence in the sitting room reading “Are you okay?” He asked “You’ve been silent for the last ten minutes and staring at that letter in your hands the whole time”

“Just thinking” She answered putting the letter down with a smile.

Hermione had been getting ready to call in a muggle exorcist to take care of a certain annoying git of a ghost that was haunting the house when he’d decided that it was time to make himself scarce. It had been six weeks that he’d been missing and he was honestly lucky that she’d been too tired and sick to look for him because he’d be dead…again. Messing with someone’s birth control potion was like taking away the air from someone’s lungs and then letting them have it back only to take it away again…it wasn’t cool. At the insistence of Lucius she went to see a Healer, he was worried that she was really sick and she was worried that she already knew what was wrong with her. She had gone to the Healer and told her what was going on, the look on the woman’s face told her that not only did she know what was going on but that she knew that Hermione knew it as well. She did what she was supposed to do, all the tests that were called for and then a pregnancy test was done and the results were given. She knew now why Severus was missing, he wasn’t hiding from her because she found out that he’d been tampering with her potions oh no. Severus Snape was missing because his soul had been transferred to another body already and he was currently growing within her womb. It was an act of fear that made him act so sneaky and underhanded, he was scared that she and Lucius wouldn’t do it willingly and give him a chance so he just took it. He knew that she would never get rid of a baby so once she was pregnant he was safe.

“Have you seen Severus?” Lucius asked “I haven’t seen him in…”

“I’m pregnant!” Hermione burst out with, she’d been hoping for a neater and possibly much more relaxed and romantic way to tell him but it didn’t work out that way.

“You’re pregnant” He repeated and slowly lowered his book “And its…Severus in there?”

“Yes” She nodded “Lucius…I’m scared but not upset”

“I guess I can’t complain” Lucius answered after a moment of sinking in the information “Least I know my son will be smart”

“Or daughter” Hermione pointed out.

“Severus will be so pissed if he comes out a girl” Lucius gave a spiteful little laugh “I’m just happy to have a baby with you”

“I’ll be happy to give him the upbringing that he should have had the first time around” Hermione said “Or her” She gave her own evil little grin as she gently padded her still flat belly.
