Hermione stared at Lucius opening her mouth to say words that were not coming out. She did not know what to say, "I...Mr. Malfoy, I really....you see Draco and I.....honestly Astoria is....oh God!" She exclaimed frustrated at her inability to talk clearly.
"Bloody hell", Shouted Ron, "we just got divorced. How barmy is that to propose the very same day?  And I thought you guys had class!" Molly frowned at him and sushed him while he sulked again.
Narcissa shook her head in disappointment while Lucius waited patiently for Hermione to answer. Hermione looked helplessly at Ginny and Harry who smiled at her sympathetically. Hermione knew this was something that should have been between Draco and her. Obviously Lucius was going to assert himself in this relationship as well. She had not talked to Draco about her feelings even though her love was increasing day by day as she met him every evening for an hour or two in this very house. Ginny would be out shopping and Harry at work so Draco and Hermione had the whole house to themsleves. Usually the couple sat in the library and talked about everything under the rainbow including their spouses. Sometimes they would laugh a lot but sometimes they sat in silence reading their books with no words necessary. While sitting side by side in their armchairs their fingers used to touch as they rested their hands on the arms of the chairs. And that was all that was required to placate their thirst to be with each other physically. Both would not move their fingers away and they stayed connected till it was time to leave. The immense satisfaction of being touched was evident on both their faces at the end of their meeting. That was the extent of their intimacy. They would neither kiss or touch each other. So the thought of spending their future together was still not on the table yet. She thought that maybe if she made it clear to Lucius he may back off. Just as she was about to voice her opinion the doorbell rang.
Harry shook his head, "One guess as to who it is!" Saying that he went and opened the door, "Of course it is you! Come in."
Draco raised his eyebrows in surprise at Harry's reaction, "Hello to you too Potter and thank you!" He walked in confidently until he saw his parents there, "Mother! Father! What are you both doing here? "
Narcissa smiled at him, "We came to see Hermione, Draco. I gave her the potion I made for strength. You father on the other hand....well I will let him explain that to you himself."
Draco glared at his father who tried to hide the ring box but was caught, "Father! You did not! Oh Merlin! Have you vowed to ruin my life for ever? What did I ever do to you?"
Luicus looked miffed,"What! I am simply preserving  the Malfoy line. Surely you do not intend to raise you children as illegitimate ones? You have to get married some day to the mother of your children. We expect it, society expects it , hell! your children will expect it as well! I was simply securing her approval for it. No need to get all worked up for it. Really what is our world coming to if a father cant do his duty in peace anymore?" He stomped his cane and sat down pouting his lips in anger as everyone grinned at his show of tantrum.
Draco rolled his eyes at his father, sometimes he could be so childish! "But father we both havent even talked about it and what if she has other plans...I mean not that she has...but if she has....though I would like this to happen but not... oh Merlin! Please just stay out of this!"
Hermione looked at Draco getting all red and flustered and couldnt help but giggle. She spoke softly, "Draco, can I speak with you ...in private please."
Draco nodded, "Of course! The library will be good." Ginny went inside the kitchen to get tea for everyone while Draco and Hermione climbed the steps to go to the library. Ron was smarting  while Harry and Bill and Fleur spoke with Narcissa. Molly and Arthur talked in hushed tones.
Hermione closed the door of the library room and put up a silencing charm. Draco stood in frontof her a few feet away looking nervous. He could not meet her eyes for more than a second and began to speak fast, "Hermione, look I know that should have been me and I wanted to...I mean I want to...but then you said that ...you know we never talked about the future and I want to but I need to ...to be sure about Astoria first.  When I find her then I can secure a divorce from her. Right now involving the Aurors to locate her would mean a lot of negative publicity and I dont want that because ultimately they might find out about you. I want you to have a peaceful life till our children are born and then....I dont mind waiting....if you do not want to then I can understand but there are things I need to tell you. I....I...oh merlin...I never thought this would be so difficult. Hermione ever since I saw you in my office I have been...I lo..."
His monologue was interrupted by Hermione who caught his robes at the neck and pulled him very close and whispered, "Draco Malfoy, kiss me...now." Draco did not waste a second. He caught her waist with one hand and put his other hand on the back of her head and pulled her close. Hermione closed her eyes tilting her head to an angle and Draco felt her lips touching his and closed his eyes as well. They kissed softly, passionately, deeply, intently, singularly losing themsleves in the heat of the moment when at last their dreams were coming true. They were touching each other intimately, finally being able to express their feelings for each other without restraint and they both took advantage of the opportunity. So lost were they in the sea of emotions that they did not register the flash of light that blinded the room and the house for half a second before fading away.
Everyone in the drawing room gasped as they closed their eyes for the light was too bright to bear. They looked utterly confused and Harry was the one to react first. They all dropped their teacups down on the table and ran towards the Library where the light had originated. Harry opened the door worried about Hermione only to step back in surprised. They all peeked in and sniggered as they saw Draco and Hermione lost in a deep kiss totally unaware that they were being watched. Harry closed the door the minute Ron walked up to the door. They all forced him to go down with them assuring that it was nothing. Still unconvinced Ron followed them. They all sat around and continued drinking tea.
Lucius finished his and remarked, "Well that changes a couple of things. I hadn't expected that to happen. It seems all is not lost for us Narcissa. I mean such paring is rare."
Narcissa nodded, "I had expected as much." Luicus gave her an incredulous look to which she replied, "Of course I did Lucius, Do you think it is common for a witch to carry three magical pregnancies from a wizard if this was not magically ordained from above. I knew it would happen."
Molly nodded, "I agree with Narcissa. Three babies in one pregnancy are very rare and it takes a strong bond to keep it that way. Magic has its way to dominate our lives because the creator wanted it that way." All agreed while Ron looked perplexed.
Arthur smiled and spoke, "Never thought I would get to watch one in my life time. They are so rare. Books have been written about them but never got to see them first hand."
Ron asked unable to stop himself, "You dont think that ...that is that! But she is a muggle born! And she was married to me for twenty years."
"And yet you failed to create a strong bond with her Ron! You were not meant to be together. Sorry son but the magic has spoken." Arthur sympathised with his son. They all nodded their heads.
Harry looked confused and took Ginny aside, "What are they talking about Ginny? Malfoy and Hermione were simply making out and the light was accidental magic right?"
Ginny laughed and answered, "No Darling, the light was the confirmation that their bond has been sealed. A couple has to kiss if they are soulbonded and then the bond is sealed forever in every life time that they meet they wil be with each other only. Its magic at its best. It makes their lives so beautiful. Even if they are going through hardships their bond will make it seem like nothing. Every witch wishes for such a life partner." Harry rubbed his face as he realized that his best friend and Malfoy will now be together in all of their rebirths. He marvelled at magic and its gifts.
Cho looked dissatisfied as she saw Astoria walk away from her. Adrian had promised her that he would try his best to prepare Astoria for the visit but it seemed like he had failed. She had visited Astoria three times now as a friend of Adrian and Astoria was still as warm as ice with her. She refused to talk about her friends, family or even her hobbies. She really did not trust Cho. She did know one thing though, Astoria had experienced a deep emotional hurt that left her angry and sad. She was now incapable of recognising people who care for ehr and people who want to hurt her. The whole world was her enemy and she was ready for war. Adrian met her afterwards and Cho told him of her diagnosis. She told Adrian that Astoria was in a fragile state and she needed someone who could break her walls and make her feel safe enough to talk about her feelings. If this did not happen Astoria might take actions that would either be harmful to her or to others. She was ready to take her revenge to the next level and Adrian's job was to distract her enough to make her give up her plan. Adrian promised to letbher know when she could meet Astoria again. Cho left feeling guilty. Her doctor patient confidentiality stopped her from informing Draco about Astoria's whereabouts. She now knew what Astoria had done but she could not tell Draco that without hurting herself as she had taken a vow as a healer.
