AN: Once again I'm sorry for the long wait between updates. Hopefully you'll like this chapter and it will make up for the wait. Thank you for all the lovely reviews, they mean a great deal to me. Chapter 26 – You’ve Got Some Explaining To Do…

It had taken a while for everyone to calm down. Severus instructed the teachers to escort the remaining students back to their dorms while Dobby retrieved the students that had been safely evacuated. Draco and Luna took the babies up to the hospital wing to be checked over before retiring for the night.

Lots of questions were being asked but Severus refused to answer them until the morning. His priority now was to make sure his mate was safe and checked over. He protectively wrapped his arms around his mate and flashed them to their rooms. With a wave of his hand they were both naked. Harry gave Severus a lopsided grin as he was ushered into bed and under the covers. Harry only relaxed when he felt his mate securely at his back again. They sat in silence for a few minutes, just drinking in each others presence.

The moment was ruined however by the arrival of a still battle ready Dobby riding on the back of Fawkes. “You is be winning Master Harry Potter Phoenix Lord Sir! Most of the remaining Death Munchers is being captured by HoggyWarts wards! I’s be getting their wands as a souvenir I is!” This was when Dobby decided to show the mated pair exactly how many wands he actually acquired. It was most impressive. There were at least 50 wands, some were even smoking slightly.

Harry raised his eyebrow at the smoking wands. Fawkes just trilled and thought, ‘What? Some of them seemed reluctant to relinquish them. I helped a little’

This caused the both of them to chuckle slightly. Severus regarded to two creatures before saying very seriously, “You were both a great asset tonight and for that I thank you. You will both be rewarded for your services not only to the school but to the entire wizarding world.”

Dobby promptly fell of Fawkes’ back in a dead faint and Fawkes gave out an undignified squawk. Harry just laughed at them. “Fawkes take Dobby and go rest. Make sure everyone knows not to pester us, we need our rest”

Fawkes gave a tilt of his head to acknowledge his lords wishes before thinking at Severus, ‘You heard him missy, he said rest, so no bouncy bouncy until he’s had a sleep sleep!’ Fawkes quickly flashed out with Dobby before Severus could do anything to him.

Severus growled as Harry buried his head in his mates chest to try and hide his giggles.

“Are you finished yet?” Severus asked.

“Y-yess” giggled Harry.

Severus just rolled his eyes at his mate and held him closer. “You have some explaining to do luv. How were you able to use your powers? The last thing I knew the twins were throwing your power levels off and you couldn’t use them?”

Harry looked slightly guilty as he looked up through his lashes at Severus. “I was going to tell you Sev. It was only today… no yesterday when it happened and I WAS going to tell you when I saw you… but erm we sorta got caught up with more pleasurable things…”

Severus gave his mate a slow long kiss to reassure him that he wasn’t angry with him.

Harry sighed contently before continuing, “Well you see it all started when I went to the common room…”

Yesterday afternoon – Pyrrhos Common Room

“I need your help with something” Harry announced to the students in the common room. “My magic has gone out of whack due to the pregnancy and I’ll need your help to stabilise my magic.” He quickly looked at them. Most seemed excited and a few looked nervous but all of them looked willing to help.

Luna walked up to Harry and placed her hands on his stomach. “You’ll be performing a naming ritual I take it? It’s the only thing I could think of to help stabilise the magic.”

Harry smiled at her, “Yes dear, as usual your right.” He then addressed everyone else. “All I’ll need you to do is to take a place around the meditation fire and well, meditated. Focus on you core like you’ve been taught and channel it as usual towards the fire. The only thing different is that I’ll be in the fire”

“Harry are you sure that’s safe?” enquired Neville.

“Perfectly safe. Flames don’t hurt me remember? That is all you’ll need to do while I meditate in the flames and attempt a naming ceremony. Any questions? No? Great!” Harry beamed.

While the other students got in place Harry led Draco and Luna to the top of the meditation fire. “You two will be my anchors. Once I’m in the flames and I reach the correct level of meditation the flames will turn blue. Once my magic is back in sync the flames will flash purple before returning to their normal colour. If at any point the flames turn green, focus on me more and attempt to ground me more. If they turn black just pull me straight out.”

Draco studied him for a second before asking, “What happens if it turns black and does Severus know about this?”

“You don’t want to know what would happen if it goes black. Let’s just say it wouldn’t be good and hopefully it shouldn’t get to that point.” Harry replied “And as for Sev of course he knows” he lied through his teeth with a smile on his face hoping the perceptive ex-Slytherin wouldn’t pick up on it.

Draco’s only response was to quirk his eyebrow.

Everyone settle themselves around the meditation fire. Harry calmly walked into the fire and sat down, preparing himself to enter the meditative state. After only a couple of minutes the flame started to turn blue.

Harry was focused internally and had a calm and clear head. He started focusing on trying to sense and find his children. Suddenly the darkness he was in disappeared and he was blinded by bright white light, causing him to wince.

The flames of the meditation fire started to turn green. Luna and Draco quickly focused on Harry, grounding him once more and allowing the flames to return to the correct blue.

‘You idiot, you nearly blinded Papa!’

‘Well duh! He’s the one who looked into the light’

‘Hey don’t push me you sack of mucus!’

‘Look who’s talking!’

‘Hey!’ yelled Harry.

‘PAPA!’ echoed around his head and made him wince. However in the next instance he felt enveloped by such a warm and loving feeling it brought tears to his eyes.

‘My son’s’ Harry said to them. Pushing out his feelings of warmth and love.

‘Why are you here? Papa?’

‘Yeah we’re not meant to meet you and Dada yet. Bet he doesn’t know you’re here either’ one of his sons said followed by both babies snickering.

‘I’ll tell him afterwards’ mumbled Harry. ‘I’m here because I need to name you because my powers have gone all whacky and I need them stable at the moment.’

‘Cool!’ both of them yelled.

‘You can call him Dorado!’ snickered one of his children.

Harry thought for a moment. He’d been looking at baby names since he found out he was pregnant. He remembered what that name meant!

‘Hey! I will not have one of my children called ‘goldfish’!’

‘Spoil sport’ there was then a distinct sound of a raspberry being blown. ‘Fine, how about you call him Pavo?’ he suggested again.

‘Don’t listen to him Papa, he’ll call me something stupid!’ yelled the other child.

Harry sighed, ‘Well now he’s trying to call you a ‘peacock’ which isn’t going to happen.’

‘SEE!’ was indignantly shrieked. The outraged cry was only answered with a snicker.

Shaking his head fondly Harry said ‘I take it you’re going to be the dark phoenix then?’

‘Ding, ding, ding’

‘Well how about this for a name. Me and your Dada have been think about it for a while now and we both like Blake (Dark) Isaac (He Will Laugh) Potter-Snape, what do you think?’

There was silence before ‘I like it!’ shouted Blake.

‘What about me Papa?’ asked the unnamed light phoenix.

‘Well the other name we thought of was, Lucas (Light) Aidan (Fiery) Potter-Snape, nice isn’t it?’ asked Harry.

‘I love it Papa! Be sure to thank Dada for me too!’ said Lucas.

‘Yeah from me too Papa’ said Blake.

With the acceptance of the names there was a bright flash of purple light. Harry quickly said, ‘I love you both. I’ll see you soon.’ The last thing he heard before he emerged from his meditation was Blake and Lucas saying how much they loved him.

Back in the common room Luna and Draco breathed a sigh of relief when the flames flashed purple before returning back to normal.

Harry had a smile on his face as he exited the flames. “That was fantastic! I can already feel my magic settling” He quickly waved his hand at the tree and flowers blossomed along the branches.

Luna hugged him, “Well done” she said.

“I’m going to tell Sev now, bye!” and with that Harry flashed out.

“HEY!” yelled Draco “I thought you said that he already knew!”

Back to present day…

“…and you know everything after that. We got a bit distracted and then the attack happened” Harry finished sheepishly.

Severus framed his mates face with his hands before drawing him into a bruising kiss. “I love you Harry” was all he said before resting his head on Harry stomach and saying “I can’t wait to meet you either Blake and Lucas”
