As he lay in bed with his lover, Carlisle, Harry couldn't help but feel a little disconcerted when the chest that his head was on didn't rise or fall with the normal routine of breathing.

There were many nights when he'd wake up and, not feeling the chest moving, would jump up and frantically start checking over the older man before his brain woke up enough for him to remember that his lover didn't need to breath.

Tonight had been one of those nights. And now he was just lying there in bed with Carlisle's fingers running up and down the smooth skin of his back as he murmured words of comfort in his ear.

Sighing, Harry pressed a kiss over Carlisle's still heart then nestled down into him. Eventually he'd fall back to sleep, but right now he was content to just lay in his lover's arms enjoying the feeling of them and enjoying the peaceful night.
