Snape entered the bedroom to find Harry standing pale and shaking against the wall and clutching his wand in a white knuckled fist. Closing the door for at least the appearance of privacy, Snape went to him and pulled him into his arms. He kept his voice low, whispering into his mate's ear to keep their conversation as private as possible with a werewolf in the hallway. “Harry... my love, what is it?”
“That's him. You asked who cast the spell that bonded us. It was him.”
Snape looked back at the door. “Are you certain?”
“It wasn't exactly the kind of thing I'd forget, Sev'rus. Aside from the pain, I will never forget that voice,” Harry swore.
Snape nodded, no longer convinced that the Ministry would be able to sever their bond, even if he was inclined to ask for it. The charm itself was powerful and difficult to break, but, when added to the fact that it had been cast with werewolf magic... the blasted thing would be nigh indestructible. Werewolves mated for life and any bonding magic preformed by one of that species would be with the expectation of eternal fidelity. “We have to get you back to the castle immediately. Our absence has been noticed. Get dressed, quickly.”
Harry nodded, shaking himself. He stayed away from the door as he collected his clothing and started dressing. Snape noticed the worried glances and decided to try distracting the boy. “Harry, could you remind me what was said before the ritual?”
“Um... sure... One of Malfoy's lackeys was telling some of the older Deatheaters that you were a traitor,” Harry obliged, remembering to keep his voice down. He had heard his mate call the werewolf by name and he knew just how acute their hearing was. “Draco stepped in and said that he didn't think you should die, that death would be too good for you and then the leader, um Greyback, I guess, cast the ritual.”
Snape paused in his preparations to consider again the repercussions of this information. Greyback had heard the accusation against him and had chosen not to destroy him for it. Instead, he had bonded him to Voldemort's sworn enemy. With his nose, there was no way he had been confused as to who he was bonding. From what he remembered of Harry's explanation of the ritual, Fenrir had given the boy ample opportunity to avoid the bond. Had he been testing Harry's loyalty? What does this mean? Is Fenrir Greyback something other than the faithful lapdog of Voldemort? Sweet Merlin, this is... I don't know what exactly this is... None of the Deatheaters had ever even dreamed that Greyback was anything other than blindly loyal to their master. If that loyalty was an act... What is he really loyal to?
Harry finished dressing and moved to stand beside Snape. “I'm ready. Can we leave from here? I'd rather not see him if I can help it.”
Snape nodded. “We can use the fireplace here to floo to my rooms at the castle. I will have to go first. I have wards in place.”
Harry nodded his agreement. “Lets go then.”

Snape waited anxiously in his dungeon room for Harry to step through the fireplace. He only had to wait a few seconds, but he was shocked to see that he was not alone. Fenrir had Harry by the upper arm and clutched the boy's wand in his other hand. He pushed Harry toward Snape and tossed the wand over calmly.
“You should teach your pup some manners, Severus. He thought it would be a good idea to point that thing at me,” Fenrir said evenly. Snape opened his mouth to ask a question that was quickly answered by the smell of scorched flesh. “Oh, yes, your little trap worked. Nasty thing, by the way. Don't worry. I didn't hurt him.”
Snape looked at Harry for confirmation. He shook his head and held his hand out for his wand. Snape returned it and gestured toward the bedroom. Harry left the room quickly under Fenrir's watchful eye. Snape cleared his throat, drawing the werewolf's attention. “I'll thank you to keep your hands to yourself from now on. Why did you come here?”
“I had a pressing issue that required my presence. You understand. I've no need to touch your mate, Severus. I wouldn't want to break him. Just keep him from pointing that stick where he can't handle it.” Fenrir's intense gaze was getting on Snape's nerves.
“And now that you're here, what do you plan to do?” he demanded. He did not like looking at a werewolf in his living room, especially knowing that the werewolf in question had some pretty hefty leverage against him. “There are other ways onto the grounds. You did not need to come through my personal quarters.”
“I know. But you made it so convenient for me. I thought I would wait until curfew and then leave the castle undetected. Unless you would rather I leave now? I'm sure that the students here are not terribly attentive. I may be able to avoid prying eyes.” Greyback smirked at the predicament he was putting the spy in.
“No. I do not have the patience to explain to the other teachers what Fenrir Greyback is doing wandering around the castle after I let him in. Keep out of sight until I tell you otherwise. And do not touch him,” Snape relented, narrowing his eyes. “There are potions in that cupboard for your burns. I trust you won't be entering my personal chambers without invitation again any time soon.”
Fenrir laughed, a deep, throaty, growling sound. “I have felt worse, but you are correct. I will respect your privacy. If he stays in the bedroom, he will not even have to look at me. And I will be gone after dark. Don't worry, Severus. Your boy is safe with me.”
