Just a reminder of what's on my profile; reviews complaining or whinging about the lack 'o sex in stories will get deleted. If you want a smut-filled romp, you need to find another story to read.
Sitting down for breakfast, chuckling as Kaliya was talking to both Lucius and Severus enthusiastically, Harry shook his head then winced as he moved. Taking his plate of food, he said, “Being a beater is lots more work than being a seeker. I'm really sore this morning from it.”
“Severus and I, both, were grousing over that fact ourselves,” Lucius chuckled, sipping at his tea.“Remind me after the meal and I'll give you something for the stiffness. I also have some balm you can rub on that should help,” Severus told him. “Lucius and I have indulged in both this morning ourselves.”“Yeah, gonna do that,” Harry sighed as he moved around, beginning to eat.“Anything at all odd on your end of this that you've noticed?” Severus asked, looking at the young man.“Nothing that I can tell,” Harry told him in between bites.“Good,” Lucius nodded. “We haven't come across anything either.”“Which means that it worked as it should. For once, something went right. I'm pleased with this,” Severus said, leaning back and sipping his tea. “We'll now focus on the whole Horcrux issue and see what we can work with that.”
“I do say this plan to grab Nagini is the best we have. I'm not willing to chance doing that spell without practice. We'll train with it, of course, but, no, the real thing won't be done without the snake.” Lucius said, shaking his head.“I agree,” Severus nodded, sitting his cup down. “Let's master the Parseltongue first so I have a way to attempt grabbing here. Then we'll work on the spell with the animals and press on. Once we have all that down, I'll keep an eye out to see if I can't manage to get her.”“On Muggle TV they use like burlap bags to put snakes in. Couldn’t we charm one to not only muffle sounds, but shrink once you have her in it? I don't know on the sound part how you would do that, but it might make it easier to get out of there with her,” Harry said as he ate, looking between the two.Having seen plenty of nature shows growing up, Severus nodded, pleased with that. “Yes, good suggestion, Harry! We'll do that. I was wondering how to get out of there with her as she's so massive. This is a sound suggestion to do that with no one the wiser. We'll look at charms and see if Black and Lupin might have an idea of what we can use as well. They may as they have more of a foundation with such things than we do.”“A ward on the bag so that no spells can detect a living thing would also help,” Lucius suggested, looking between them. “I say we layer it with every protection we can come up with. That way, if you can get her, you can get out undetected.” Shaking his head, he imparted, “If I was still out and about, I would just pop into the Ministry and inquire about such things with contacts in the department dealing with dangerous creatures. They would have to have something to work with such incidents as they've had to deal with plenty of serpents of all kinds before. I don't know, maybe, there might be something in the library on such topics. We'll check. If we can find something already made up for such removals, Severus may be able to get his hands on it.”“And I didn't think of that either,” Severus said, sitting his cup down. “Let's go that route and see what's available. Even a standard pet store that carries snakes may have something we can modify. That would be far easier than creating something from scratch. I'll look around to see what I can find. If nothing else, I'll drop it with Black and Lupin to see what they can do with it. They may be able to get with Hagrid about some spells for another reason.”Liking that, Lucius nodded. “We go with that. Once it's in place, we'll work from there. We just need to hurry, I think. The start of term is looming and we want you out before then.”“Yes, time is of the essence here,” Severus groused, shaking his head. He honestly hadn't thought about how little time he had to work with so much. However, that meant they had to step up what they were doing. “Let me go get with Lupin and Black today to see what I can manage there. I'll also push on a couple other areas to speed things up. While I do that, you start working with Harry on the spells he needs to know. I'll pass along the names of the patsies to Black so he can figure out what to do on his end. That should help. We'll then go from there.”“We can do that,” Lucius said with a firm nod. Looking at Harry, he told him, “After breakfast we'll go outside and start with the Dark Mark then press on to hanging traitor. From there, we'll run through the spells I know they use. Those should be easy, I think, as they are just modified spells that they teach at Hogwarts.”“Good. We all have what we need to do, so we can get on with it,” Severus nodded, already planning out just what he had to do.
Sitting in the small abandoned Muggle hovel he found way off in the middle of nowhere, Peter was looking through the papers that were published recently, shaking his head. Oh, this was bad, very bad. Nowhere in them did they say his name, of course, but everything pointed in his direction when it came to Harry's disappearance. How they came up with this he'll never know. The same with the evidence that proved it. He was sure it was Sirius, at least in some way, to prove his innocence, but he had no way of knowing that.
Tossing the latest copy of the Prophet aside, he put his head in his hands and tried to think. This was bad, very bad. And he wasn't sure what to do here. All he knew was that there was no way he could show up to any summons with the Dark Lord until he figured out what was going on. As blatant as the clues were in the paper, the Dark Lord would have it figured out in seconds and he would be in for hell despite the fact that he had nothing to do with the brats disappearance. Hell, he had no way to prove he didn't! That meant, unless Harry turned up somewhere, something that didn't look like it was going to happen anytime soon, he had to hide. That, in and of itself, was a whole other problem. He didn't know where to do that!Shaking his head, running his fingers through his hair, he tried to think. Right now, he was fine. It just meant that he had to find something, somewhere, better protected than where he was. Because the first summons he missed would have the Dark Lord sending people out to look for him. That wasn't good. With the mark he wore, he could be found, probably fairly quickly too. He didn't know exactly how that worked, but knew it would.Looking outside, he decided to wait until dark then move again. Where? That was a good question. He needed protection, that's for damned sure, and had nowhere to turn for it. The Dark Lord would be after his head very quickly, Dumbledore would just turn him in, the Ministry might hide him for a while to cover up what happened, but he would eventually end up either Kissed or in Azkaban. None of the options were good ones and he couldn't think of any others aside from getting out of the country. That, maybe, he could manage if he played it right. So far, that was the only thing he was focusing on. Once over the channel, he could find somewhere to hole up where none of the factions in this mess could find him until the whole thing was over. Once it ended, one way or another, he would decide from there what to do.Figuring that was about as good as he was going to get for any kind of plan, he decided to sleep then head for the coast at night. Once there, he would work with it. After all, he had managed to escape more than once by now. Doing it again was something he could manage.Shifting to his rat form, he found a place to hole up underneath one of the ramshackle pieces of furniture and got as comfortable as he could. Shutting his eyes, he tried to drift off, but his thoughts were chaotic enough that sleep wasn't going to come easily.
Sending the bag Severus had bought to his room, Sirius said, “We'll work on it tonight and see what we can do.” Shoving a couple books towards the man, he added, “I marked the places in there when it comes to the spells we need to anesthetize animals. The one with the red bookmark is the one we're going with here as it's the easiest of the lot to work with and has the desired effect. We managed to get with Hagrid and he said it's the best to go with. It should work.”
Taking those and pocketing them, Severus nodded. “We'll start working on our end as well. There are plenty of peacocks we can practice on for it.” Stopping, he gave up the names of the patsies they were going to frame then said, “You should be familiar enough with them to be able to recreate some of what they do. Lucius is working with Harry today with the spells needed. I'll be able to get my hands on some other biological evidence that we can plant. As soon as I get my hands on the snake, I'm going to need out, fast. It's going to send him into a madness we've not yet dealt with.”“I know 'em, don't worry there,” Sirius nodded. “We'll work on it here. Is Harry going to get the hang of the Mark enough to cast it?”“I have no doubt he will,” Severus imparted with a firm nod. “Lucius will spend all the time he needs to ensure it. We're also going to make sure he knows the spells.”“A suggestion, if I may, Severus?” Remus asked quietly. Seeing the man nod, he pressed on, “When we come over tomorrow, have the dummy wands ready so we can find something. That way the two of us have plenty of time to work with this. I also think we need to have the robes and masks ready as quickly as we can as we don't know when we'll have to do this. That way we're prepared if we have to step up at a moment's notice.”“We'll handle it,” Severus told him with a firm nod, pleased with the suggestions.“You sure Harry can do this without getting caught or it giving away who he is?” Sirius asked, sipping at his tea.“Yes, absolutely. We wouldn't chance it if we thought otherwise. Lucius will also come along to keep watch and direct. That way we can make it look as good as possible. I'm also going to have the elves start replacing my things and moving them so it's done,” Severus said, looking between the two.“As long as Harry's not in danger, we'll be fine,” Remus told him. “Now, we have some info for you to not only help your end, but pass along. Our thought was that it should draw suspicion away from you when the time comes.”Motioning for the man to continue, liking the thought, Severus waited.“Kingsley told us that the Ministry is setting up points to check on ways out of the country for Peter, both Magical and Muggle. They are now actively hunting him, but not saying so publicly.” Remus explained. “They are setting up all kinds of strange things to see if they can't detect him in several ways. Kingsley said that the thought is if he managed to slip around this long, they think he's going to try again.”“Good. I'll pass it along,” Severus nodded, pleased with that.“They'll catch him if he tries,” Sirius added quietly. “Kingsley and Tonks, both, said they are pulling out the biggest wands they have to nail the furry little bastard.”“I'll pass that information as well,” Severus said, looking between the two, folding his hands on the table. “It'll only help what we're planning to do.”“Yeah, he has to be running scared right about now,” Sirius chuckled, grinning malevolently.“Probably, yes,” Severus smirked. “The Dark Lord will be pleased with this information and it might jar something loose, somewhere. I don't know what, but it'll only help us. Let me see what I can push him for when it comes to the situation. Even if it's just to draw him off the path from looking too closely at other things, it'll help.”“Just be careful,” Remus said softly.“I know what I'm doing there, never fear,” Severus said with a placating motion. “I'm also not going to endanger myself.”Changing paths, Sirius asked, “Anything wonky with the bond so far? Harry said it was fine last night.”“So far, we're pleased. It worked just as it said and completed. We can actually easily understand Kaliya and could very quickly.” Slowly, he walked the two through what happened and what came of it so far.
Looking up at the Dark Mark that hovered over the pool, Harry grinned while he panted heavily. He had managed it and it only took a couple tries. Chuckling, he said, “And it's the height of irony that I now know how to cast that thing and plan to use the spell.”
Giving Harry a rub on the head, Lucius smirked, “It is. You did very well though! Didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would for you to catch on either.”Straightening up, still grinning Harry rubbed his shoulders, frowning. He was still plenty sore, though he didn't know why, and it seemed to be spreading. Assuming it was just the game the day before, as he hadn't played in a while, he shrugged it off. “Alright, we have more work to do, but can we take a break? I'm tired and need a rest.”“Of course,” Lucius nodded. Looking at the young man, he said, “We'll sit and have a light snack while I run you through the theory of the next one. After an hour or so, we'll press on to that. If you didn't have a problem with this spell, you shan't with the other as it's far simpler to apply.”“Works for me,” Harry said. Stretching, he winced and shook his head. Walking over, he flopped down at the table and stroked Kaliya's head. Picking up the butterbeer the elves brought, he sipped at it then slouched down. Not only did he ache, he was tired. He supposed that spell took more out of him than he thought.Taking a seat himself, Lucius poured some tea then looked at the young man, smirking. “We'll work on it a couple times each day so by the time we need you to cast it, it'll come naturally. That will be perfect. We can get in and out quickly that way.”“Sounds good,” Harry said. “Whatever it is with that thing, it draws on you, that's for sure.”“It's the evil intent,” Lucius sighed, shaking his head. “You may not be casting it for the intended purpose, but it's a darker spell that came about because of evil intentions. That draws on your magic in a different way than most spells do. Won't harm anything for you, of course, as any spell can be trans-mutated into something dark, but it's a draw on you when you start with them. As we don't intend to teach anything else like it, it shan't a problem.”“Understood,” Harry nodded, taking a bite of the pastry he snagged. “I think I'm going to need a nap after all this. Between the game and this, I'm tired and still sore.”“You'll need your rest, because Severus and I plan to avenge our trouncing tomorrow,” Lucius smirked, knowing better than that. The two of them were already preparing to get their backsides handed to them in spectacular fashion by the other three.“Don't count on that,” Harry told him, laughing. “Sore or not, I'll be good there. Add in Sirius and Remus and you can expect to lose, badly.”“We'll see,” Lucius imparted, nose in the air, smug. “Either way, we'll all have fun with the game. It is rather enjoyable despite the fact I haven't been on a broom to play in a dragon's age.”“Yeah, it is. That was a great present,” Harry nodded. “Even if you two don't want to join in, I'll have fun with it.”“That was my thought when I came up with it. It'll be boring around here, no matter what we invent to do until this mess ends. Something such as this will give all of us some enjoyment. Besides, if Severus and I keep playing, we may end up with a chance at beating you!”“No chance. You'll just not lose so spectacularly!” Harry laughed.“One never knows, Harry,” Lucius told him then took a sip of his tea.
Lying draped over his young man while he was napping, Kaliya was hissing softly to him. As that was something Harry had told him was relaxing, he continued to do so, even while the young man slept. It was no hardship and he liked doing it. Shifting around slightly as Harry moved and moaned in his sleep, Kaliya slithered up and rested his head on the young man's shoulder so he could be closer to his ear. He wasn't sure if the moan was from a bad dream or something else, but it didn't sound like the pleasurable kind to him.
Lying there, he was slightly disturbed by the fact that Harry's shoulder joint felt hot. It hadn't earlier when he had been lounging on the young man's shoulder. In fact, the heat from it felt fairly intense. Moving slightly, wrapping down his arm instead in case it was painful, he noticed that the elbow, too, felt hotter than normal. This he didn't understand. He wasn't all that familiar with the mechanics of the human body and how such things worked when it came to the internal parts, so he wasn't sure if this was something that should disturb him or if it was nothing to worry about.Thinking it over, tail twitching as he did, Kaliya recalled the discussions about the nutrient potions Harry was now taking and how there may be some damage from neglect in his early life. Mayhaps that was what was causing this. If they were working, they may be causing this kind of reaction. Pondering that, he decided to give it a couple days before saying something to anyone. After all, his young man trusted Lucius and Severus enough to let them know if he thought something was off. Maybe it was just from the game the day before. As Harry had played it before, he might know better than he would about such things. He would take that up with his young man when he woke up and see his thoughts on the matter.
Poking his head in Harry's room about three, Lucius planned on seeing if he was ready to continue on. He assumed that Harry was up from his nap and was doing something else. However, he was surprised to find the young man still sleeping soundly. The excitement of the last couple days must be catching up to him, was his thought on it.
Spying Kaliya draped over him, he imparted softly, “Tell him we'll work more tomorrow on it. Let him sleep.”“I will,” Kaliya told him. “I think he's still aching slightly and is worn out.”“It happens. Teenagers are well known for their love of sleep,” Lucius smirked, remembering Draco's marathon sleep sessions. “Let him rest. If there's a problem, come get me.”“Never fear, Lucius, I will,” the snake imparted, feeling slightly better about the situation.Shutting the door softly behind him, Lucius went to find something to occupy his time until Severus returned.
