Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter or the Wizarding World created by J.K. Rowling. I also do not make any money from any of the stories I write. It is pay enough getting to play with these characters. |
Warning: There will be some Theo and Justin action at the end of the chapter for those who may be sensitive to their sexual relationship. I'm not judging anyone, but thought it was important to let you know.
Living Chapter 29
Last time…
"Death Eaters are here at Hogwarts." The words coming from Severus's mouth turned her blood cold. But, the next words made her almost kill over, "They are being led by a new Dark Lord, Antonin Dolohov."
Hermione had never seen Minerva McGonagall look as shocked as she did at the moment. The fact that she sat with her mouth gaping open staring at Severus Snape said so much to all of them. Finally, Minerva shook her head while sitting back in her seat and taking a deep breath.
"So I must ask, how do you know this? I am not that surprised that it is any of you that have found out this information. I swear, trouble follows you around like a bad rash."
None of them had to ask who the "you" was she was referring to. All of them, Severus, Hermione, Harry, Ron and Ginny had all at one time or another been fully involved in some mischievous or dangerous occurrence at Hogwarts through the years.
Harry looked over to Severus, who in turn looked at Hermione who was nervously biting at her lip. Unfortunately this was a habit that even Minerva knew something was up to make her this nervous.
Minerva sighed and sat up in her chair, "Out with it…any of you…now." Her Scottish brogue was thick, as she demanded answers from them. "Have you seen the man here at Hogwarts?"
Severus cleared his throat; "With the help of Potter's Marauders map, and with the eye witness account of a few of us, yes, this fact is true. The new Dark Lord is indeed Antonin Dolohov. He has recruited many of our Hogwarts students into his new group of Death Eaters. We've found that they are responsible for the attack on Mr. Potter and Miss Granger." He stopped for a moment to gage Minerva's reaction, who sat as still as a stone statue. "This is why we are coming to you in need of your help to once again restart The Order of the Phoenix. We are also wanting your help in going to Minister Shacklebolt with this information and in reorganizing The Order."
The room was so silent as they all listened to Snape. The full enormity of his words hit home. They would once again be at war. The blessed respite from being at war would be a thing of the past, but it needed to be done.
Setting down her teacup, Minerva's old age showed, as she sat there trying to control her shaking hands. Her pinched lips and short breaths showed how she was feeling at the moment. Hermione held her breath waiting to hear what Minerva would say. They were asking many people to risk their lives again to stop a mad man who wanted to take over their world. Every one in the room was sitting on the edge of their seats waiting for an answer. Ron's face was almost as red as his hair as he stared at the floor with his hands clasped tightly. Harry had his arm around Ginny who looked like she was on the verge of being in tears. Severus sitting next to Hermione was staying strong. He needed once again to show the strength that all of them would rely on during a time of war.
"I will contact Kingsley, but you know as well as I do that he will want to come here and speak to all of you." Minerva said looking at them sternly.
"If that is the case Minerva, we have nothing else to do at the moment. Call him and we can move forward with our plan." Severus stood to walk towards the fireplace in the large Headmistress's office.
"What do we do if he doesn't agree to reorganizing The Order?" Harry asked the question that they were all thinking.
"Then we go ahead and deal with The Death Eaters on our own." Ron answered him.
Minerva scoffed next to Severus, "Has the word 'No" ever stopped you before Mr. Potter?"
"This is one time that I will be supporting him if that is the answer. I'm tired and not getting any younger. I just want to live without these constant threats. So, Mr. Potter, if we hear the word "No" you have my unfailing support." Severus nodded over to Harry.
Hermione could only grin at the exchange that was taking place in the room. To finally see her best friend and her lover siding with each other was heartening. Through this whole year it had been a battle of loyalties for her. She didn't want to take sides between her best friends and the man who was becoming the most important person in her life. She knew if she had to choose between them, someone would be disappointed.
The new Minister of Magic came through the floo, his large presence filling the room. The man who had stepped into the office of minister was a natural at the position. The majority of wizards and witches felt safe with him and his background as a Auror and as a survivor of The Battle of Hogwarts. Kingsley scanned the room and didn't seem surprised at the people that were gathered there. Not even seeing Severus Snape there among the group of Harry Potter's friends fazed him at all.
"Please everyone sit. Minerva said something about Death Eaters here at Hogwarts. Those are words I had hoped to never hear again." The man's face showed the clear distaste he had to even be saying the words.
Severus spoke next, "We have proof Kingsley. There are things that have been happening from the beginning of the school year until now. Let me explain."
Over an hour later, two pots of tea, one plate of chocolate biscuits and another of ham and cheese sandwiches, the tales of the past several months had fully been explained. The minister sat with slumped shoulders as he contemplated the information.
"We have no other choice but to bring The Order of the Phoenix back. But, in order to avoid mass hysteria in our world, this new information will not be given to the general public."
"Is it fair to keep the information away from everyone?" Ginny asked. "People need to be prepared to protect themselves again. Look what happened last time when Fudge refused to acknowledge that Voldemort was back."
"I agree with Ginny, it gives the bad guys too much power." Ron backed up his sister's sentiments.
Severus spoke up, "If we let everyone know all of the details, the Death Eaters will go underground where we won't have any access to them. At this point they still think they are invincible. Remember, we don't have a spy within their ranks this time."
"I agree with Snape. The last thing we need to have happen is for them to go under the radar. At least here we know where they are and can track their movements." Harry said. "I vote for only Order members and those close to Kingsley knowing. Too many people with this knowledge and it takes away our advantage."
"The three of us, Minerva, Severus and myself will be contacting old members outside of Hogwarts. Harry and Hermione, you two along with Ron and Ginny's help, will be contacting those you trust from Dumbledore's Army who would want to join the Order." Kingsley stood and walked towards the floo. "We'll meet here tomorrow night in your office, if that is acceptable with you Minerva."
"Yes, Minister, that will be fine. Now how about we go off and do normal things like studying, since we are here at a school where learning should be taking place." Minerva stood and motioned to the door.
"Yes, Head Mistress, I agree." Hermione said while glaring at Ron and Harry.
"Since it's a Saturday, I think we should go out flying. What do you think Harry?" Ron asked as walked to the door. The boys quickly left leaving Ginny and Hermione shaking their heads.
"I have lessons to plan, if you would excuse me." Severus walked to the floo, knowing he'd be able to floo back to his own quarters from Minerva's office.
Once he was gone Minerva looked over to the two girls still standing there. "Please be careful out there. You two are still some of my favorites." She smiled at them as they smiled back and left the room.
There was still so much that this little group had not been saying. She wished that she could have challenged them more about the details that her eyes had been noticing, especially concerning Severus and Hermione. She trusted Severus to be discreet with whatever was happening, but if by the way he'd been looking at Hermione she knew there was more to the story. Today hadn't been the day to confront them about it.
Saturday afternoon had been a good one for both Hermione and Severus as they were sprawled out on Severus's bed, their legs intertwined and their lips exploring each others body. No lesson planning or studying had been taking place at all, unless you counted the studying of each others bodies as they made love. They'd been interrupted one too many times, so they were now taking advantage of a few spare hours for themselves.
"Oh, don't hold back Severus," Hermione moaned as her lover took her advice and with one final thrust he came inside of her. He lay panting on top of her as she still clung to back, still slick where he'd perspired from their afternoon activities. She loved clinging on to the man after they'd both come and he was still inside her. His added weight felt good to her, being so close to feel each others heart beating rapidly as their breathing was slowing down and becoming more normal.
Severus leaned up on his elbows to look down at her as he brushed her sweaty curls away from her face. "You are never more beautiful than when you are lying here, in my arms. Gods, I'm addicted to you."
The words spread warmth throughout her body. Her heart wanted to burst with happiness. She had never truly expected to hear these words from the supposedly cold Potions Master's mouth. But looking up into his dark eyes still smoldering with lust, she sensed that there was something else there. It was too early to use the "L" word, but it could be possible. She knew how she felt about the man, but there was no way in Merlin's name that she'd be the first to utter that "L" word and scare the poor man back into hiding. They'd already come too far in their relationship to stifle it now.
Severus bent his head down to kiss along the length of her neck, "What is going through your brilliant mind right now? I can always tell when your thoughts start churning and you start drifting away."
"You mean you're not going to take a peek to see what's going on up here?" she pointed to her head as he frowned at her.
"I promised you I would never do that again unless you wanted me to," he almost growled out. "I just recognize that look on your face from watching you for many years. The only difference now is your not waving your hand in the air trying to get my attention." She should have felt offended by his comment, but she knew it to be the truth.
"I don't need to wave my hand to get your attention these days." Her words lightened the mood, so as not to disturb their time together. His head came back down to kiss and lick along her breasts as she moaned at his actions. There were no more words spoken as they let other actions dictate what happened until dinnertime.
"I have a plan Ron and I'm going to need your help." Harry and Ron were sitting in the Gryffindor common room playing a bit of Wizard's Chess.
Ron was concentrating on his next move and it appeared as if he hadn't heard a word Harry had said. Harry kept staring at Ron who seemed lost in his strategic planning.
"Did you hear me?" Harry whispered to him, not wanting to draw attention to either of them or what they were saying. They still didn't know for sure what side everyone was on. Until they did figure that out, they needed to keep their secrets under wraps.
"I'm trying to think here and I'm almost ready to win this match, so Shh." Ron sat for a moment and then made his move. "Aha! There you go! I win." Ron looked up to his best friend, "Now what were you saying?"
Harry looked around and the slid his wand out to cast a quick Muffliato spell. "I have a plan to draw out more of the young Death Eaters."
Ron sat studying Harry for a moment, "I'm almost afraid to ask you what it is. Every time we come up with something there are usually problems that go with it."
Harry could only smirk at his response because he knew it was true. "It's something that only you and I would know about if we want to make it look real. It would also ask a lot from you if you're game."
"This is only getting worse if it's something you want to keep from Ginny and Hermione, and don't forget Snape."
"OK, here's what were going to do…" Harry started explaining and was almost gleeful watching Ron react to his plan.
{Warnings from above now activated}
"What is it you saw?" Justin asked Theo as they ate their lunch in a quiet alcove away from listening ears and prying eyes.
"I told you, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley were fighting in the hallway leading to Potions. Not physical fighting, but you could tell they were angry with each other." Theo was leaning up against Justin's chest as he fed the other man some bites from his lunch.
"What were they saying? I can't believe they were fighting in front of everyone."
"It wasn't in front of everyone. They were late for class and I was in the shadows and they couldn't see me." Justin reached around to grab something else off the plate that Theo was holding, while his other hand swept along the front of Theo's trousers making him jump and groan at the touch. The plate got knocked down as Theo turned around to straddle Justin and threw his arms around the others neck. Their lips came crashing together in an aggressive kiss that turned into more quickly. They stripped their jumpers and shirts off, followed by trousers and boxers being flung to the ground. All talk of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley was lost as the two men ground up against each other, fighting for dominance. Theo won as he straddled Justin spreading his legs, muttering a lubricant charm, and thrusting up into Justin, eliciting a moan from his lover.
Afterwards as they both came down from their climax Justin remembered what they had been talking about. He played with Theo's hair kissing along his brow. "What did the super duo argue about again? You kind of distracted me."
Theo only grinned as he still held Justin in his arms, "Ron accused Harry of always wanting to be a hero and how he was tired of him always needing attention."
"That's nothing new. I heard them argue like that back in fourth year during the Tri-Wizard Tournament. It's probably only gotten worst since Harry offed the old dark lord and saved the world."
"It sounded different this time. Ron said if Harry couldn't accept and appreciate him for who he was, maybe he needed to find some friends who would. Don't you see Justin? He's ripe for recruitment where he can be made to feel special and needed." Theo said with excitement.
"You actually think we can recruit Ron Weasley into the Junior Death Eaters?"
"This would be such a blow to Harry and their side. The more havoc we can cause, the easier it will be for Lord Dolohov as he takes over our world for good." Theo stood up and started getting dressed. "Operation Recruit Ron Weasley is now in progress. Lord Dolohov will reward us if we get someone from the Light side into our ranks." Justin lay there in all his nudity as in shock.
"Come on, no time to waste. We have a Weasley to befriend."
So this is where we leave the story. Are you surprised at all with Harry's plan for Ron? There was some foreshadowing about the plan earlier in Minerva's office. Next chapter we'll see when The Order assembles and also see the beginnings of Theo and Justin interacting with Ron. Sorry for the lateness of a new chapter coming out, but with projects at work taking up all of my time, I've had no energy once I get home to even think about writing. Please inspire me with your reviews! I need all of the help I can get!
