In Which Apollo Is Revealed
*
Harry woke up the next morning to the grey owl on the counter once again. He was surprised at the quickness of the reply. He ripped it off eagerly and read through it. It sent shivers down his spine. This person still wanted him. He didn\'t know how to reply, but the owl didn\'t move, so Harry sat down to write another response.
Apollo,
I don\'t know what to say. I\'m flattered at the references and if I knew who you were, I think it would be better. Please tell me, I promise that I won\'t turn on you. I\'ve trained my emotions very well these past few years. I\'ve learned that not everyone is as they seem. It seems to me that I may have caused you some strife in these past years as well. If I did, I\'m sorry, and I\'d like to right my wrongs.
-Harry
Harry sent the letter on it\'s way and got ready for work. He apparated in to find Ron happily training and the minister gone on business. There weren\'t very many people in the office that morning. He walked to his desk and began organizing his work for the day.
\"Potter, \" came a drawling voice. Harry looked up and was confronted with Draco Malfoy, leaning against the doorframe. Harry scowled.
\"What do you want, Malfoy?\" He said coldly. Draco smirked and moved into the room.
\"Now is that anyway to treat your coworker?\" He asked silkily. Harry glared at him. He was still incredibly good looking. His hair was no longer slicked back, like it had been in school. He still wore perfect clothes though, and his body was much improved from the skinny boy he\'d used to be. Harry realized he was staring and quickly looked away. Draco chuckled quietly.
\"What do you want?\" Harry repeated.
\"I think you know what I want,\" Draco drawled quietly. Harry looked up alarmed. Draco was smirking at him, his silver-blue eyes glittering watching as Harry\'s tongue nervously played with his lips ring.
\"I...I...\" Harry stuttered, this couldn\'t be what he thought, right?
\"The papers on the escaped death eaters, Potter.\" Draco clarified, still smirking. Harry blinked and hurriedly rummaged through his drawers, trying to find the papers Malfoy wanted. When he finally emerged, Draco was lazily lookng at Harry\'s pictures.
\"Here,\" He said scornfully, throwing them at Malfoy. He caught them easily and leaned in close to Harry.
\"Thanks, Potter,\" he whispered, his breath warming Harry\'s ear. Harry tried desparately not to shiver. Malfoy straightened up and walked from the room. Harry was left sitting in shock at his desk, having no idea what had just happened.
That night, no letter arrived, to Harry\'s disappointment. He had grown to eagerly await their arrival. He didn\'t recieve one that entire week actually. Harry was beginning to worry about his anonymous letter writer. Two weeks from the last letter, however, the grey owl appeared in his kitchen once again.
Harry excitedly tore off the letter and read it.
Harry,
I\'m sorry it\'s been so long, but I have been very busy at work. I\'m still not sure you understand how incredibly sorry I am. I feel that until you do, I must remain unknown. Telling you now would ruin everything. Yes, I\'m afraid you did cause me some pain growing up, but I have forgiven you and gotten over it. Most of it was brought on by myself anyway, and not in any way your fault. By the way, the red sweater you wore today was incredible. You should wear red more often, and I love your hair too, in case you didn\'t know. I\'ve always wanted to know, is it as soft as it looks?
~Apollo
Harry smiled a little at the letter. He set about writing a reply.
Apollo,
Please tell me. I completely understand how sorry you are, and no matter who you are, I will remember everything you have told me and try to put them with your real personality to alter my judgement of you. It sounds to me as though you wouldn\'t object to a little more *personal* time with me. I hope we can after you tell me who you are.
-Harry
Harry looked at his letter. He wanted to put more, to make this person really understand that he would try, but he couldn\'t figure out how to say it, so he left it at that and sent it on it\'s way with the grey owl.
***
He didn\'t recieve another letter for sometime and he started to think that he\'d scared the person. He wondered if he would ever find out who it was. To make matters worse, at work, Harry found himself increasingly attracted to Draco Malfoy.
Whenever they were in the same room, he was drawn to Draco. They had exchanged touches several times in the past weeks, all accidental, of course. Harry couldn\'t figure out what was going on. He still liked Malfoy, but now he almost felt as if he were cheating on the letter writer.
Malfoy appeared to be oblivious to Harry\'s predicament and never acted as though anything happened.
One night, three weeks to date after the last letter, Harry was sitting on his couch watching muggle T.V. when he caught sight of a beautiful grey owl soaring over the houses. The owl swooped in and landed next to Harry on the couch.
This time, when Harry removed the letter, the owl took off immediately. Harry watched it curiously. It had always waited around before. Maybe this meant something. Harry slit open the letter with trembling hands.
Harry,
I guess I have forced you to wait long enough for my identity. I\'m still not sure you completely believe me, but I am being unfair by remaining anonymous. When you are done reading this letter, tap it with your wand and say \"revelus\" it will then reveal my name. I want to stress that I am TRULY sorry for everything, and I meant it when I said I still like you and would like something more.
~Apollo
P.S. Once you know who this is, the name will, I\'m sure, make more sense.
Harry\'s hands were shaking as he drew out his wand. He was about to find out the name of his not-so-secret admirerer. He tapped the parchment and said clearly, \"REVELUS\"
The parchment glowed yellow and grew hot. Harry dropped it in surprise. The parchment stopped glowing and turned black. There was a flash of light and Harry shielded his eyes. When he took down his arms, there were only two words on the parchment. The rest of the letter had disappeared. Harry bent down and carefully picked up the parchment and held it up to the light.
\"DRACO MALFOY\" it read.
