oOoOoOo
Another month came and went for the blond aristocrat. Working for
a tyrant was strenuous work. Lucius could feel the weight of the world on his
shoulders with each passing day as Voldemort’s right-hand.
This, he didn’t want—not like this. If it were only himself,
Lucius would have gladly sold his soul. And he probably would have brought
Severus down with him. But his young husband proved to be stronger than he had
originally thought.
This feeling of self-loathing, this out-of-control despair could
not continue. This would not do. Not now, not ever! Voldemort was twisting the
belief of blood purity.
Not many pure-blood families were left, save his own, the Blacks,
and the Weasleys, there were a few others but they were not worth mentioning.
His Master (his bane) was out to eliminate the latter in this war.
However, that family of rejects were not cause for concern. No, the danger was
with the newly wedded Potters. Why? Lucius didn’t know and Voldemort was not
telling.
Speaking of the devil, he was calling. Lucius gripped his left
forearm, breathing deeply—the pain was bearable, for now, but he mustn’t dawdle.
A few turns out of his ‘office’ and down the rickety staircase and
silently up the stained carpet hallway to the main parlour, Lucius bowed then
knelt while taking the hem of the silky velvet robe to his lips to kiss.
The blond stood once his formal greetings was finished. Surprised,
Lucius wondered why he was the only Death Eater in attendance. Usually, his
Master spoke to all of them at once rather than repeat himself.
Sharp crimson eyes quietly accessed the handsome blond.
“You are not resting, Lucius, why?”
Schooling his features, he answered, “I am gravely worried about
my husband, my lord.”
“But you received a letter from him, did you not?”
“Yes, my lord.”
“So, tell me, Lucius, what is the problem.”
The ever doting
father.
“Severus said little and that has me concerned. I fear something
has happened in my absence.”
Long minutes ticked by before the other man spoke. “Have you
considered my proposition, Lucius?”
“Yes, I have, my lord. But in order for the request to be
fulfilled, I need to return to my husband.”
“Hmm, very well. You may return to your young spouse under one
condition…”
Lucius stood still, gazing directly into red orbs. He was the only
one who could. No one else dared to challenge as powerful a wizard as
Voldemort.
“Finish what you have started for me and you may leave for home.
Keep in mind, Lucius; I give you three months, which should be plenty of time
for you to do what is necessary. You are dismissed.”
Turing with a twirling snap of his dark robe, Lucius went back to his
office. He had one more letter to compose then he was leaving for South
America.

Finally, the room stopped spinning, but it didn’t prevent his
stomach from cramping up and giving a painful heave. Severus turned over just
in time to vomit on, “Holy, fuckin’ shit! You threw-up on me!”
That was enough to reel in his senses and look at who was in the
room with him.
Severus paled further (if it was at all possible) as he stared
dumb founded at his bane.
“Black! What the devil are you doing in my room?!”
Sirius pointedly disregarded the other wizard as he tried (in
vain) to rid his pajamas bottoms of the puke Snivellous so kindly gifted to
him. Unfortunately, he didn’t have his wand to cast a cleaning spell.
“I heard a noise last night and came to investigate. Finding you
on the bathroom floor was a delight; however, I wasn’t expecting the extra
baggage, though.”
Giving his idle brain sometime to catch-up, Severus realized what
the man meant. Gazing down at the length of his body, the Potions master summoned
up his frustration, “Bloody hell.”
“Indeed,” Sirius
muttered as he went into the bathroom to fetch a towel to clean-up the up
chucked food.
“So, Snape, does Lucius know?”
“Know what?”
“That you swallowed a melon and it’s his,” Sirius said without missing
a beat.
“That is none of your business, Black,” Severus hissed, the color
returning to his face somewhat.
“Ah, but it is, Snivellous. How convient for you to be up the duff
when you poor, poor devoted husband is toiling away doing his master’s bidding
for the last four months. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say you and Lord
Felix been around the bend a few times.”
Severus choked. “You bastard!”
Smiling with
malicious satisfaction at ruffling Snape’s feathers, Sirius asked, “Why are you
hiding it if Lucius is indeed the father? Surely, being the spouse of a Malfoy,
you would want to garner the prestige of conceiving the next in-line to the
Malfoy fortune.” Sirius paused for effect.
“Unless, it’s not Lucius’. And if that’s the case, you would want
to keep that (pointing at his stomach) under wraps.”
Sighing, Severus was too tired to mentally fight with the dull
witted Black.
“Go away. I’m tired and require some rest before I leave.”
“Not until I get something from you, or else it might be public
knowledge that Lord Malfoy’s husband is an adulterer.”
Obsidian orbs widen at the horrific implication.
“You wouldn’t dare!”
“I bloody hell would and you know I would.”
Another sigh escaped Severus. I
must be dreaming. I have to be.
“What do you want, Black?”
Nearly a quarter after six in the morning, Sirius Black was
spotted leaving the bedchambers of Severus Malfoy in his sleeping pants and
night robe by flaming forest green eyes.
oOoOoOo
“It is so good to see you again Master Malfoy.”
“Severus would do fine Nickolas, please.”
“I came as soon as I could. We unearthed a sarcophagus of great
importance. I believe from the detail etches and hieroglyphs that the body
there in might be one of the wizards in Rames II court but I won’t know for
sure until Lord Malfoy returns to inspect it himself.”
Was everyone in awe with the mystery of Egypt? Besides Lucius,
Severus never knew of any one who displayed this much fire about cold tombs and
hot sand. Nickolas caught the bewildering look on his master’s spouse’s visage
and coughed slightly. He noted with some scrutiny, Severus flushed full face,
not to mention raven black hair that went down past the Potions master’s chest.
Nickolas opened his
mouth to ask about Severus’ change in appearance when Severus stood up from
behind his writing desk in what the dark-haired man could only describe as
maternity robes.
The older wizard tried to voice his question again but the words
were stuck in his throat as he realized what he was looking at.
“Seeing as you’re the only one I can trust with my condition,
Nickolas, I am in need of your help.” Severus hated to admit weakness of any
kind but with Black breathing heavily down his neck and Felix sniffing at his
heels, he needed someone to run inference.
“Severus,” Nickolas choked out.
“You’re-you’re pregnant.”
“Nickolas, please this in no time to
fall apart me. Neither I nor the children can handle any more stress.”
“Chil-children?”
“Yes. Apparently, my brush with one of the feline fertility
deities was no myth.”
“But… how?”
Severus refused to give into the gesture of rolling his eyes.
Nickolas knew how, surely the man has had lovers?
Normally, Nickolas was more composed and
watching the dark-haired man fall apart was disconcerting.
“Back in June, Lucius unearthed a statue of a cat. He of course
went into the histories of the most revered animal in Ancient Egypt. Unknown at
that time it was a fertility goddess. I was moving some things around in
Lucius’ study when the notes on that piece of artifect literally dropped into
my lap not long after we were wed.
“Also, unknown to me on our wedding night that, that blasted
statue was in our room. Now do I need to color a full picture for you,
Nickolas? Or can you piece the rest of it together?” He didn’t mention about
the potion that helped produce his womb.
And to think that he was doing this in steps!
It took all of five minutes for the older wizard to make his
conclusion. “Oh, good grief!”
“Indeed.”
“And Lucius does not know,” Nickolas stated as a matter of fact.
The younger wizard sighed and sat back down. Shaking his head
negatively, Severus replied, “No. The Dark Lord had been taking up the majority
of his time—leaving little to no time for me and when I actually got the
results, confirming my suspicion; Lucius came home bearing ill news.”
By this point Severus charcoal orbs swelled with unleashed tears.
(Sniffs) “The Dark Lord called him away for an undetermined amount
of time, which has now been three months. I couldn’t tell him. I could not risk
his safety. His life is too important to me for me to tell him.”
Nickolas went around
the large redwood desk to squat in front of the distraught male. He knew what
his master and friend had to do to be with the treasure before him. However,
Lucius’ freedom was a small price to pay for the man he came to love.
“Severus, that should have been Lord Malfoy’s decision to either
stay or leave. His anger is just as fierce and terrible as his passion. I fear
for your safety once he finds out you’re with child and with twins.”
Unfortunately, Nickolas saw the slight
wince. “How many of my master’s offspring do you carry?”
Severus whispered something, but the short haired brunette didn’t
understand.
“Pardon?”
Taking a deep cleansing breath, Severus replied, “Four.”
