Title: Harry�s Child

Summary: Harry desperately wants a child. He feels he has been denied a family to long. He isn�t allowed to adopt, nor can he find a good potential host mother that�s willing to carry a child for him, and then walk away from him and the child. Can his partner of 15 years understand the extremes he�s willing to go to, to get a child?

Warnings(for entire fic not just this chapter): Mpreg, Child abuse, slash.

A/N: I hope you enjoy this new story. It is completely unrelated to the last story 'Draco's Secret.'

Chapter One: Adoption

�What do you mean I can�t adopt Michael?� Harry asked furiously. �Michael has been in my care for three years now, and his parents have signed away their rights to him. He�s well cared for in my home. We love him, and he loves us. We are able to provide a stable home for him.�

�Mr. Potter, you have to understand, that while you are an exemplary foster parent, have been for the past seven years, as proven by all the children that we have placed under your care, you just do not meet the standards set by the LAYWWAS,� the fatherly-looking wizard that sat behind the desk of the Head Office of the Merlin�s Magical Orphanage, and Fostering and Adoption Agency of Great Britain. He went on, quoting the Law for Adopting Young Wizards and Witches and Squibs, ��A child, who is proven to be of magical origin, either born from magical parents or a Muggleborn witch or wizard, placed for adoption, will be placed in a home in which the potential mother and father have been proven to be both competent in all areas of magic, have been shown to be lawful citizens, and have demonstrated that their home is a conducive environment for the raising of future productive members of Magical society.�� He placed a special emphasis on the words �mother and father,� �Mr. Potter, Michael will be placed with his new family this weekend. I beg you, not to make this more difficult than it already is,� At Harry�s dejected nod, he continued, �We have a little girl that needs a foster home, while her new family is evaluated to make sure they are a good match.�

Harry made his way home in a daze. He packed up Michael�s things, and that weekend took him to the Larson�s, Michael�s new family, handed the things over to Mrs. Larson, before bending down and saying goodbye to the little guy that had stolen his heart, his heart broke a little more when little Michael smiled his toothless grin, revealing his two missing front teeth, and wrapped his tiny arms around Harry�s neck saying, �I�w mwiss you, Hawwy.�

�Bye, little one, be good for your new mommy and daddy,� Harry said, with a kiss on the boy�s forehead.

�I wiww, Hawwy. I wuv yu,� the little boy said as he waved good-bye, holding onto his new mother�s hand with the other, as Harry walked to the apparition point and apparated away.

�Mr. Potter, just because you are a hero, doesn�t mean you can get away with special privileges. The law states that for an adoption to take place, the home must have a father and a mother, not one father, not one mother, not even two mothers or fathers, but one father and one mother. You even helped pass the law,� the Minister of Magic said evenly.

�But it was never meant to be read that way. It was supposed to be a protection for the children from going into a home where they would be abused or not even looked after properly, not to prevent them from going into a home where they could be given a good upbringing in a loving home,� Harry protested from his position in front of the Wizengamot, where he was pleading his case for not just himself, but all potential parents that wanted to open their homes to needy children, but were denied, because they didn�t �fit the criteria.� But it looked as if he was fighting an unwinable battle, that unlike when he fought against Voldemort, there was no hope that he would come out a winner.

One witch eyed him maliciously, in fact she reminded him a lot of Delores Umbridge, before saying, �That is exactly what we are trying to enforce, Mr. Potter. We don�t need our children corrupted in their earliest years by unsavory morals.�

�Are you saying that being gay, is something bad? Immoral?� Harry protested, starting to get very angry.

The woman looked as if she would like to say �yes�, but she restrained herself, �Mr. Potter, what I�m referring to is YOUR inability to keep your temper under control. It has also been shown that a home in which children are raised by a mother and a father, produce the most productive members of our society,� She seemed to indicate herself as being one such person, �Why, look at yourself. No mother or father. You have accomplished nothing with your life. You have no job to speak of, nor have you done anything productive with your life.�

Harry�s control on his magic slipped and things started to fly around the room. As the Minister yelled for the Aurors, Harry said quietly, �Why is it, whenever I do anything, or try to get things changed for the better, I�m made out to be some selfish bastard that uses his celebrity status to get special privileges,� then he fainted dead away, before the Aurors, most of them Harry�s friends, had a chance to do anything. Auror Ronald Weasley shook his head sadly, at his friend�s state, and moved quickly and got Harry out of there, with the help of his partner Luna Longbottom, and back to his house, where he was tucked into bed

Dear Mr. Potter,
We regret to inform you that your services, as a foster parent, are no longer required. This is due in part to your behaviour at your recent appearance before the Wizengamot. It has been brought to this office�s attention that this is not the first incident of violent release of magic. Due to this, we feel it is prudent to no longer house any children within your care, where they could be exposed to such an unhealthy environment. The children in your care will be removed as soon as a new foster home can be found for them.

�Just come to their attention. Hah. How the hell did they think I defeated Voldemort,� Harry said after reading the letter for the fiftieth time, since his last foster child had been removed that morning. He paused before reading it again, and threw the letter away from him in disgust. It burst into flames in midair.

�Harry, come back to bed. We�ll deal with this tomorrow, when things are clearer.�

�Ok, Honey,� Harry said as he came to the bed and snuggled against his lover.
