  • AN: Sorry that this took so long!

Ok, so someone asked(don't ask who since I usually don't remember or I'm too lazy to check.) how often do I update. Hmm, well I update as fast as I can write. It really depends on my mood but now I'm feeling happy ;) so I'm writing something every day. Usually it's chapter per day. I just write whatever comes to my mind and I end up writing the next chapter of the next one! I always get some crazy ideas and so on.
And... what was the other thing?... oh yeah! I don't have a beta and don't intend on getting one. It decreases the pace I'm updating and since I'm updating at least once a week now. I want to update when I get the chapter ready and I don't care about some grammatics or something. I've seen worse!
English is my second language after Finnish. I speak very little of Swedish. I understand it sometimes but that's it... sometimes lol.
Anyone who wants to can beta any of my stories or the existing chapters but I don't want anyone influence my writing before I have updated. I just can't work like that. I hate it when some times someone doesn't understand what I wanna say or something like that. Ok, so the problem really is that I would need to talk face to face with someone about my stories. That would solve the grammar problems. Because I want to know what is really the matter and I think that someone who would tell it to me in English... I wouldn't understand it anyway. I hardly understand it in Finnish.

    Chapter Three
    -~-The first date-~-

Draco paced nervously in his room, trying to pick up the best outfit for their date. He would be picking Harry up in an hour and yet he still had no clothes what he wanted to wear. He had a feeling that no matter what rags he put on Harry would not care anyway. She seemed to look underneath the surface. He had felt naked under her gaze sometimes as is she could see right through him. He somehow suspected that he would not be able to lie to her ever. She would know it anyway.

Someone knocked on his door. "Come in!" he barked and threw the shirt he had been considering to wear on to his bed in anger.

His mother's head peeked behind the door. "Hello, darling. I see you are not ready yet."

Draco huffed. "I just-- never mind," he sat plopped down on his bed next to his shirt.

Narcissa smiled and entered the room completely. "This is how we are going to solve this. I'll decide what you wear and you go pick up your fiancée."

"Mother," he whined. "I can do this on my own, you know."

She chuckled, walking over to his wardrobe. She glanced through his clothes picking up a dark blue shirt and black slacks. "It seems you can't and I don't want you to leave her waiting because of your narcissism."

"I am not!" he exclaimed, taking the clothes she had offered to him. He put them on and looked himself in the mirror.

She just smiled, patting him on the shoulder. "You look great," she said before leaving him by himself again.

Draco smiled, grateful to his mother. She always knew what to do and, more importantly, what to wear.

He left the sanctuary of his room and made his may towards the floo. He had to pick something up before he would be picking up Harry. Nervous shiver ran down his spine. He was going to meet Harry's Aunt and Uncle. What he had caught from Harry's words they seemed not to be very nice. He really hoped they knew how to behave themselves. They couldn't be that bad if Harry was such a wonderful person but then again. He wasn't so sure. He decided to judge them afterwards.

    ~***~

Draco had decided to enter the house of the Dursley's by using the front door. He rang the doorbell, waiting nervously outside as he waited for someone to open up. He heard some noise from inside and footsteps nearing the door. It was Harry who opened the door.

She looked surprised to see Draco. "I was expecting you to come via the floo," she said and pointed her finger towards the direction of the living room. The floo had been connected recently to serve only one purpose. It enabled the Malfoy's to keep contact with Dursley's and when Draco and Harry were married the floo connection would be severed.

He smiled at his fiancée. "I decided against it. It dirties my clothes," he said, winking at her. "I would have had to take them off after it." Harry blushed at his comment. "Are your Aunt and Uncle home?"

Harry recovered from her embarrassment. "No, they went out and took my cousin along."

Draco frowned inwardly. That was rather rude of them, not to meet him at all. He fixed his gaze on Harry. She wearing not what she was supposed to, at least he hoped so. "You are going out with me wearing that?" he pointed out.

She blushed, looking down at her own attire. She was wearing a pair of old jeans and a shirt that were way too big for her. "No, I was just about to change," she said and Draco could detect a hint of a lie in her voice. She left something out as her eyes had flashed mysteriously and she had hesitated to answer first.

She let him in and closed the door. "You can wait here," she guided him to the living room. "I'll be down in a sec," she said and disappeared up the stairs.

Draco looked around the living room. The room was so plain, nothing that caught his attention. He saw some photos above the fireplace but didn't see Harry in any of them. The furniture was old but not in a good way. It looked dirty even if it was cleaned recently. Draco sneered at the thought of Harry living in a place like this. She would be better of in the Manor.

Suddenly he heard her returning downstairs. She had not been gone long but she looked much better almost breathtaking in her dark dress. It seemed to be brand new and he suspected it had been brougth just for this date. He was finally forming his picture of these people Harry lived with and it wasn't pretty. He pushed that thought out of his mind as Harry nervously walked over to him. "You ready to go?" he asked and she nodded. He took her hand and they left the house which was beginning to make him feel sick.

He led her to the limousine that waited them in front of the house. She looked around in awe as they sat in the backseat. He couldn't help but smile at her. "I take it it's your first time in a limo?"

She nodded and still her eyes kept wandering around the interior of the car. He was little surprised she had not asked where they were going. She looked content at not knowing. He could see that she trusted him. His plans where nothing big but he hoped it would become a precious memory for them.

He yet again took time looking her from head to toe. Her dress was not revealing, the hem only slightly below the knees. Her shoes were really revealing. Maybe six straps were holding her foot in place. There were not high heels but they still managed to make her look sophisticated.

He looked up again. She was wearing a simple necklace; one blue stone hang around her neck in a silver chain. She turned to look at him. The dark dress brought out her brilliant green eyes. He was instantly sucked in as she looked him in the eye. "What?" she asked nervously.

Draco shook his head. "Nothing," he replied. He hadn't noticed it before but she wasn't wearing any make up. He wondered for a moment how lucky he was to have a wife who would look beautiful without make up. He didn't want to even think about what she would look with little make up. She would be stunning to say the least. He so couldn't wait for they wedding day. He probably would faint at the altar because of her beauty.

He chuckled and looked away as Harry glanced at him again. Their car arrived at their destination. The driver helped them out of the limousine and he led her towards the exact spot they would spend their evening. He had decided to take her to the Manor's garden. He had noticed that she had enjoyed to be there and he wanted her to feel comfortable in a familiar environment.

He heard her gasp as they came upon the small area he had prepared just for them. There was a small fountain in the center of clearing. He had arranged a picnic next to the fountain. There was a basket waiting for them and a couple of blankets. Candles surrounded the fountain, making it glow and the water reflect light to the surrounding area.

"Do you like it?" Draco asked as it seemed that Harry wasn't able to say anything for a few minutes.

"This is simply beautiful. Thank you," she said and pecked his cheek quickly.

Draco smiled, embracing her gently. "I want you to promise me that you'll be always honest with me."

Harry frowned. She wasn't sure what Draco meant by that. "What are you saying? Why would I ever lie to you?"

Draco licked his lips as he looked away. "There could be situations when you think that lying is a better option but I won't stand that," he said, looking her in the eye. "I want to hear and know everything, was is bad or good. I don't want secrets between us. I don't want to endanger our happiness because of unconfirmed rumors or anything like that."

Harry smiled at him. "You silly twit," she said, playfully smacking his arm. "I promise I'll be honest with you and I'm anticipating that you are going to ask me something so spill it out."

Draco smirked. "Well, there is some things in my mind that we need to discus and I want to ask you something." Draco led her over to the picnic spot and with a wave of his wand on of the blankets was spread on the ground so that they could sit without dirtying their clothes. He waited until she had sat down first. He opened the basket and took out two glasses and a bottle which turned out to be mild champagne, not enough to get them drunk but enough to make the situation feel more special.

Harry sighed, as se took the filled glass from Draco. "Would you please tell me what you have to say or are you going to make me wait all evening?"

Draco chuckled at her impatience. She was cute when she got nervous. "I want to know more about your childhood. I want to know everything about you before this night ends."

Harry laughed. "You can't be serious?" she asked mirth in her eyes.

"Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be?" He winked at her. "I wan to know what kind of child hides inside you."

She blushed at turned away. "I'm not that interesting. I was really skinny and kind. Nothing ever happened to me."

Draco frowned, offering her a biscuit. "But there must be something that you might be able to tell me. How did your Uncle and Aunt treat you or that Cousin of yours?"

She took the offering, smiling a bit. "They have never cared about me much. My Aunt hates my mother, who is her sister, and never talks about her or my father. They have made it clear that they don't want me to ask about them."

Draco looked worried as he munched. "But you are family to them."

"No, no," Harry shook her head. "I never was part of their family. They gave me some food and clothes but that was it. There isn't either any pictures of me or presents that they have given me."

Draco's frown deepened. "Well, you don't have to worry about that anymore. We are going to be a family from now on," he said, trying to reassure her.

She smiled sadly. "Yes, you are right. It feels sad to leave them behind."

"What are you saying, Harry?" Draco exclaimed. "If you didn't lie to me then I think I have the right to say that they have treated you badly."

Harry sighed as she tried to make Draco understand her point of view. "That is not what I meant and you know it. They are the only ones I know and they are my family. Now that I've met you, I'm going to leave them behind for good. It seems they want me to do just that, leave and never come back."

Draco regretted he had said anything. "I'm sorry," he said placing his hand on her shoulder. "I only meant that you have to think about the future now. I'm going to make you happy if you only let me."

She blushed again, covering her mouth with her hand as she coughed couple of times. "I'm happy to hear that."

    "Good," Draco said. "Let's eat."

After their meal they stayed seated. Draco was looking between Harry and the setting sun. His mind drifted as he stared at her. He couldn't quite place what was so fascinating about her. She was just captivating. She was almost shy at times but with him she had not been that way yet. It was the situations that she wasn't prepared for, then she would go quiet and just observe everything from afar.

Her sudden words surprised him a little, "Why are we here, Draco? I was expecting... well I don't know what exactly I was expecting but I imagined you would take me to some fancy restaurant and spoil me with expensive food." She looked over the rose bushes. Her hair shining from the last rays of the sun as it set behind the hills.

"I thought this would be a special place for us from now on. You seemed to like it," he said, taking her hand in his own.

She blushed at his words and actions. "Of course I do. This is something I never imagined could even exists. It takes my breath away everything I see it," she said, gesturing towards the roses close by and looking at Draco.

"As do you, too, my love," he said, kissing her hand softly. She looked away, embarrassed at his behaviour.
Draco wanted to laugh but because he was sure she had never experienced something like this before, and from now on, she would only do it with him.

He turned her head around to face him and looked her in the eye before kissing her on the lips. He became hard just from the thought of her being underneath him. He made the kiss demanding and she responded with the same feverish way. Just to be on the safe side, he kept his hands on her waist. He didn't want her to get scared too easily. His hands were burning to touch her all over but he refrained from such an act.

They would have the time and place to do this properly after the wedding. He pulled away from her. "There is something I have to tell you," he said seriously.

Harry looked at him worried that something was wrong. "What is it?"

"Harry, I've been thinking about this since I met you. I want you to know that I will love you no matter what you have done or do." He took her hands in his. "Harriet Potter, will you marry me?" he asked softly, looking into her deep emerald eyes.

She gasped in surprise. "I- I.. of course I will!" she exclaimed and kissed him.

He chuckled against her lips, pulling away. "Good, otherwise I would have been worried," he said and kissed her properly.

AN(more like my thoughts): I don't know anymore... I just seem to ramble on about things that I shouldn't in this story. I'm sure I'll soon begin to explain how many petals some flower has when I should move on with the story. I just can't help it. XD Not with this story anyway. It happens just like that.
I know, I know, this sucks XD
Have you noticed that maybe I'm doing this all on purpose?
I just loved the biscuit thing XD Draco gave her a biscuit when he didn't know what else to do. >.< Or is it me? Hmm, gotta think about this.
