She was nothing like he'd thought she would be... nothing he'd ever seen before. Whether is was sick fascination or the pull of lust that locked his eyes onto her he couldn't be sure. The first thing he saw was her wings. The huge black wings were spread out and flapping softly. Every muscle could be seen flexing in her back as she moved them. The onyx feathers flowed through the wind and refused her plea to leave the ground. The closer he got he could see small white dots embedded in the feathers, they formed a sloppy line across the middle of her wings. "Constellations." The tribesman answered when he saw Draco staring. He nodded and tore his eyes away to the rest of her body. Her hair was mixed in with light browns and even a few strands of silver, while remaining primarily blonde. It fell down across her surprisingly pale shoulders. In fact all of her was fairly pale, despite a life time of what appeared to be a life time of sun exposure. Two canine ears, very similar in color to her hair, popped out on top of her head. Her body was flawless, curved hips and even from behind he could tell she had nice breasts just from her shape. She wore a similar outfit to the tribesman. The difference was she wore a two piece garment instead of one. Two solid gold bands held a piece of light purple cloth over her breasts, but left her back bare. Resting directly on her hips was another gold band that held the same colored cloth down to her ankles. One piece in front and one in the back, leaving her hips bare a long fluffy tail poked through a hole in the cloth. His mouth felt dry and he shifted, trying to relax his cock as it began to stir in his robes. Thank Merlin they covered a lot.
Draco stepped up onto a platform and could now see the rest of her... he lost all excitement in that moment. Not because she was ugly, but because he was terrified. From the close proximity and the lack of brush he could now see that her wings carried more than feathers. On each wing a long spiky bone pushed up from the middle wing joint and then, down the length of each wing from the spike, was a long sharp ivory spur that continued out a foot or two beyond the wing tip. Her feet were fairly normal, besides the long white talons that grew from the first and last toe, along with tiny claws on each toe and another long spur that jutted sharply from her ankle to heel of her toe. Her fingers had sharp claws and yet another long spur coming from the wrist to her palm."You should see how long they get when they aren't retracted." The old man chuckled, lighting a fire and pointing to her feet. Draco wasn't sure he wanted to do this anymore. His eyes finally leveled with hers. They were stone grey, and looking eerie even in the light. He could hear his mother trying not to cry as his father turned to Kingsley with rage in his eyes, "You said she couldn't hurt him! THAT does not look harmless! It looks like a bloody monster!" He hissed, but in a low whispering tone. The girl obviously heard them because she tried yet again to pull back against the women holding her arms and keeping her grounded. The tribesman heard him too and clasped a hand to his back. "Have faith friend." He said with a wink, and lumbered off.
Mai was brought to stand next to him but wouldn't glance his way. Obviously Merlin either couldn't hear or didn't give a damn about his prayers. This woman didn't want to be near him. The forest around him stilled and the girl faced forward, bowing low, along with the women holding her. Confused Draco stood stiff as three distinctive shadows flashed over his head. Soundlessly the three people circled and landed in front of them, one perching on a tall pole over the platform, another landed on a perched only slightly below him, gasping his hand, and the third landed by his fiancé '. "Lord Re'imart, I give you my daughter." The woman said, stepping away from his soon to be wife. The man perched the highest flexed his snowy white owl wings, "And will you take her?" He said leveling his gaze with Draco. He'd signed a contract with the ministry... there was no backing down now. This was for his mum. "Um... yes sir." He practically shouted. The owl man winced, "I can hear you dear boy. Speak softer." His tone was light but scolding. Draco nodded in compliance.
The lord looked to his finance's apparent mother and she nodded. From her bag she pulled five gold bands, then handed them to Draco. "If you will have her, take care of her, and provide for her, we will give the island's best young heart... and a truce will all types of our people... even beyond these lands." The lord said, sounding terribly bored. The only people showing any other emotion were him, his parents, and the bride. He nodded in acceptance, and they didn't seem to care if he lacked enthusiasm. "Take each band and tap it with your wand, then place one on each wrist and the final around her neck." His wife's mother said. He tapped the first and it glowed softly until he pressed it against her wrist. To his surprise, it went straight through like a ghost and stopped glowing once the band was around her wrist. He jumped as she screamed loudly, her face contorting in agony. He dropped the other bands and hopped back, "What did I do?!" He squawked, his hands out in front of his body.
He watched in amazement as the spurs and claws on that wrist disappeared completely... then he understood. "BOY! What are you doing?! Will you or will you not take her?" The lord boomed, clearly upset Draco had jumped away. He gulped and nodded, picking the rings up from the ground. He tapped the second one and secured it. Then the third to her ankle, then the fourth to the other, dissolving the spurs and talons, leaving a human foot. Finally he tapped the fifth ring and pressed it through her neck. She screamed the loudest this time, as the wings on her back twisted and contracted, dissolving into her flesh as the other dangerous items on her body had. "Only you can decide when you trust her enough to take them off... and it must be of free will." Her mother explained gently. His mother couldn't stand it anymore, first her son was being forced to marry, then he had to physically hurt her to seal away her powers, but the fashionista in her couldn't let this last thing go, "Oh those positively won't go with everything!" She mumbled, not expecting the mother of his wife to turn. "Oh yes... I forgot how obsessive wizards are with outer wear." She said calmly, with a tiny smile. "No matter, the color and style can be changed with a tap of the wand and a single thought Madam Malfoy." She giggled a bit and turned to the lord and lady. "Good day Mr. Malfoy... Kingsley." He said, watching the women bow as they took flight.
"That was it? They're married?" His mother said in shock. What a horrible way to betroth! She would have to give the poor girl a proper wedding later on. This could not be what she wanted. Married in the jungle in the least romantic way possible... even for an arranged marriage this was insane! "Yes... and I'm afraid I have other matters that need attention. You're welcome to stay on the island, just north of here is a town. By the way, I'm Taigi and if you need anything I am happy to oblige." She said sweetly before turned to look at her daughter. The girl was on the ground, panting and crying. Without a word of kindness the woman spread her own brown wings and took flight... leaving them alone there in the jungle confused as hell.

Over. That was the status of her life. Mai Clarice Oddelle may has well of pitched herself over the side of that damned volcano. She would rather! Than to waste her life away like this. It was one thing when she'd been told to marry him. Of course she had been upset and fussy over the entire ordeal. She didn't want to bleeding do it! Mai had plans. From the time she was little she had been pushed aside or told what to do and when she'd freed herself from the fighting rings Mai determined it was her turn. She was going to be the one running the show. For over a year now she'd spent studying under the general. He taught her magic, flying techniques, fighting, and never asked why. The old wiry maned wolf seemed to understand her need for knowledge after years of confinement. Where she lacked in skill she made up for in heart and desire. Her days were spent flying around the islands and privately training with general Ezbee and her nights were filled with parties and occasional drinking. Mai refused to be a drunken smoker as her mother was. Drunks were just pathetic. Over all she was happy as long as she didn't have to sleep. Her life had been wasted enough and she refused to waste away her nights with fitful dreams and poorly conjured rest. It was perfect... until a week ago. Her mother, whom she never spoke to and had a mutual distaste for, had rudely pulled her aside at the summer sun festival just as the light was disappearing from the sky. Without any real question or regard on Mai's part she simply informed her that she was getting married. Just like that, for the first time since the fighting rings, Mai was caged. Not as literally as before but she was still being carelessly stripped of her freedom.
She'd refused until the king himself asked her. Now Mai had little sense of nobility. She didn't have high respect for lord and land, king and country. She was mostly coyote! Their sort, while extremely rare, didn't bother with things like nobility, politics, and anything that involved you not doing what you want all the time. The only reason she agreed when the king asked was she knew refusal could mean dead. True to her nature, and from past experience, Mai was a coward and had no interest in dying. Re'imart didn't know what pity was, mercy maybe, but to pity her situation from her past and to keep her happiness in mind wasn't something the old owl was willing to do for anyone better yet her.
She heard movements to her right and struggled to stop the tears. Those bands had stripped her of her wings, spurs, magic, and over all dignity. Then to top it off the flesh under them burned with agonizing pain. She couldn't help but cry... and yet she didn't want his pity. She didn't need anything from him and she was certain she would get nothing even if she wanted it. Anyone willing to marry for politics wasn't in it for the soft touches in the night, or the passion, she doubted this man cared if she even lived at all. Right now she really didn't. A hand touched her shoulder and she jumped. Normally her wings would have caught her but they were no longer there and she fell gracelessly onto her ass. Her grey eyes looked over him for the first time as he stared down at her in surprise. Tension was written all over his face, along with pity. His posture was rigid but it seemed normal for him. He was strong and clearly fit. Pale, with platinum blond locks that were tamed neatly unlike her own mixed and frayed hair. His jaw was strong, face slightly pointed, and his eyes were a bit bluer than her own. He stuck out his hand and she stared at it, not sure what it was for. Her ear twitched as an exasperated sigh left him, "Do not start with me right now." He said crouching to one knee and whispering to her in what appeared to be a sweet display, "I will not be made a fool of in front of the minister. Now pull yourself together, grab my hand, and let me help you to your feet like a good little wife." He hissed silently. Instead of waiting though he roughly grabbed her hand and pulled her up and against his body. There was a disgusting plastic smile on his face as he turned to look at the people he'd brought with him... they were all looking as tense and awkward as her husband.
A dark skinned man broke the silence, "Well... I think that I'll head back to the ministry and... report the um what ever just happened..." He said with a forced smile. It was obvious that he felt badly for her. "Of course minister." Another blond with long hair and a stick said. He was just as fake as the smile on her husband's face. "Thank you for this... lovely oppertunity." He said with a curt nod. Mai flinched as a loud pop filled the air and the man disappeared. Her teacher was right, wizard magic was quite different from her own. She uncomfortably tried to wiggle away from his iron clad grip, if he cared or noticed it didn't show, though he didn't let up. A fancy looking woman with blond hair took a step forward. "I suppose since no one else has done so I will introduce myself first." She smiled lightly as her husband sighed in relief. "I'm Narcissa, Draco's mother." She went to stick her hand out in Mai's direction but let it drop with a stiff smile and gripped the long haired man's arm. "This is my husband Lu-" The man rudely interrupted her in a scolding voice, "I can introduce myself Cissy." He admonished, "I am Lucius Malfoy. Draco's father." His eyes locked with her's as if he was expecting something from her. She wanted nothing more than to crawl away from that hungry and stern glance. Her fearful trance was broken by hot breath on her ear, "And most importantly, I am Draco Malfoy... I do believe we were just married... sort of." While he was jesting, his heavy, breathy voice did nothing to relax her. Now all of them were staring at her. Where was her blasted voice?!
She pried at Draco's hand with her own and tried to back away. There was a sharp pain in her hip as he pinched her. Now his eyebrows were creased and angry, though Mai was unaware what silent code of conduct she'd broken to make him cross with her at all. " Dear" he seethed, "It is only polite that you tell your name also." Oh! So that was all they wanted... why the hell didn't they ask? "I'm Mai. Mai Clarice Oddelle." She said slowly, softly. Gosh she sounded like such a wussy! Yet right now she felt far too vulnerable to be anything but cowardly and timid. Draco chuckled and drug a finger gently over the bare skin of her hip, "No darling. Now you're a Malfoy. Mai Clarice Malfoy."
