Ever since he was little and had read books about the Greek Gods and Goddesses, Harry Potter felt like he should pray to them. Back then it was because he hated that they were being forgotten and 'mistreated'. Now he did it out of respect and belief.
Harry was nineteen when he gave in and did what he knew he should have done ever since Voldemort was reborn.
He had a sword commissioned then, while everyone was busy after another attack that killed more innocent people, Harry took a trip to Bulgaria; what was once Thrace. The only place where Ares, God of War, had a temple.
Easily slipping into the ruins of the temple, Harry made his way up to the alter. Pulling out his wand and a shrunken package he enlarged the package then gave another flick of the wand which cleaned the area around him.
Unwrapping the package he had brought with, he revealed a long sword. The sword was made of stainless steel of about 40 inches. The hilt was a shorter length, but it had multiple symbols relevant to the God of War. The sheath was a polished wooden like casing that had the same symbols like the hilt and towards the top there was a blood red ruby set in the wood.
Setting it on the alter, Harry bowed his head and prayed to the God, asking for protection during the fight and help destroying the monster that wanted to destroy everything.
Standing up, Harry gave one last bow of his head then turned to leave only to stop when he saw a man standing behind him. The man had slightly long hair, just about even with his chin that was pitch black and slightly curly. He had a goatee around his lips and dark eyes that seemed to stand out on his olive skin. He had a long earing and leather clothes with symbols that matched the ones that Harry had had placed on the sword as well as a necklace around his neck.
Watching as the man moved towards the alter and pick up the sword, giving it a few swings, Harry didn't know what to do.
Only a few seconds later, the man spoke.
“It has been centuries since someone prayed asking for my help. You've been praying to all of us, giving us back strength, but this devotion you're giving to me for help is something I haven't felt since the Romans last needed me. You must be a strong warrior.” The man, Ares, said to him.
“It's how I've been raised since I was eleven...hell I've been called a weapon since then too. This is a war and I'm one of the leaders of the two sides. It would be hard not to give power to the God of War when I've been trained in his specialty.”
“I shall give you help, but I expect you to keep worshiping me if I do this.”
“Of course. I wouldn't stop just because the war is over.”
“Good. I shall be checking in on you.”
Nodding, Harry watched as the man eyed him again before he disappeared in a flash of lights. Heading for the doorway, Harry was slightly surprised to see the temple slowly fixing itself, healing now that it's owner was finally back.
Smiling, Harry thought, 'Voldemort is going down. The power he knows not is definitely an ancient Greek God.'
