Chapter 3
The Meeting
Hermione found herself anchored to the floor by two sturdy hands. She felt herself pushed into a hard chest of someone so that she wouldn’t lose her footing and fall down on the ground. She started to apologise to the person in whom she had tumbled into while at the same time becoming aware of the thick and hard biceps that she felt beneath the robes. Hermione was working herself into quite a fluster when she looked up and was suddenly staring into stormy grey eyes. The words she was about to utter died on her lips as she realized that she was looking at Draco Malfoy. She was suddenly overcome with the close proximity of Draco Malfoy. She felt herself get flustered and muttered in her head that of all people to crash into she had chosen the worst candidate of all. Hermione extracted herself from Malfoy’s grip quickly and took a step away from him lest the rampant emotions running through her became known to Draco. Hermione saw Draco open his mouth and she mentally prepared herself for being called a mudblood or some such.
“Alright there Granger?” asked Malfoy.
This threw Hermione off the loop as she was expecting a hearty mudblood packed with a sneer to be sent her way but Draco actually looked to be making sure that she was alright. “Yes.. I- I- think I’m fine-” Hermione was cut short as a red headed woman around her height came into view and proceeded to give Hermione a bone crushing Hug.
“Mrs. Weasley,” gasped Hermione, “What are you doing here, and what is Mr. Weasley doing here with you?” asked a very confused Hermione.
“We were here on important order business Hermione,” said Mr. Weasley kindly. “We thought that perhaps we might visit Ginny, Ron, Harry, and you while we were here.”
Hermione noticed that Draco was with them and that he had yet to throw an insult at either her or Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. She looked towards Draco and under lidded eyes examined him from top to bottom. Merlin the boy had a body. Hermione reached his eyes and in turn found him staring at her with a slight smirk. Hermione quickly snapped her eyes back to Mrs. Weasley and found a bit of a smile on her face. She felt herself blush brightly, enough to outcompete a thousand suns.
“Draco why don’t you fill Hermione in on what just happened. Arthur and I will go to Harry, Ron, and Ginny and explain it to them since they aren’t going to take the news in a logical manner, although I am pretty sure you won’t have a problem with discussing the issues with Hermione here” finished Mrs. Weasley while Hermione heard Mr. Weasley let out a slight chuckle from her left. Hermione felt mortified beyond reason at this point.
She looked at Draco from her peripheral vision and wondered exactly what had happened that caused for him to not insult the Weasleys and her, after all he was Draco Malfoy, epitome of pureblood bigotry. It was what he did, insult those whom he felt were inferior to them. It didn’t matter how good he looked but he was still a prat on the inside. These thoughts in itself caused for Hermione to become confused by wondering why no insults were forthcoming. Hermione was brought out of her reverie when Mr. Weasley took Draco aside to talk for a moment. Their faces looked grave at a point, morose the next, and pride on Mr. Weasley’s behalf and a bit of flustering on Draco’s. Draco and Mr. Weasley came back to stand beside Molly while she was chattering about some store she had visited in Diagon Alley. However, Hermione at the moment only had eyes and ears on the enigma standing in front of her. What was all that about, thought Hermione.
“I think we should excuse ourselves now Molly dear,” said Mr. Weasley “We really need to get going now if we are to make it back in time. I really need to go to bed on time today or else I will be late for my meeting with the minister.”
“Yes yes dear we should get going now,” said Molly “Do be careful kids, have a great semester and Hermione dear please don’t overwork yourself this year and do be careful of your health. And Draco dear, I am aware of what happened in Dumbledore’s office, and I am also aware of your capabilities, but that doesn’t disregard the fact that you are still a child. Do promise me that you will take care of yourself.”
“I promise Mrs. Weasley,” said Draco with an uncertain smile on his face.
Hermione was shocked. Before she can realize it, she had started to breathe in rapidly and felt herself hyperventilating. She slowed down her breathing and her curiosity decided that it could no longer be held at bay anymore.
“Just what is going on here? Molly why are you and Mr. Weasley acting so friendly towards Malfoy of all people? There is just something wrong with this picture. Are you even the real Weasley’s or are you polyjuiced Crabbe and Goyle? Malfoy are you playing a trick on me, because if you are then I’ll have you know that I will hex you into oblivion and then bring you back and hex you back again!” finished Hermione. Her rant had taken up a whole of thirty seconds and at the end of it she found herself short of breath as if she had just run a marathon.
Hermione looked up at shocked faces of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. She looked at Malfoy and found a look that she couldn’t really place. Malfoy’s usual sneer finally came on his face with the haughty indifference behaviour. NOW THIS seemed more normal.
“Hermione I am sure that Draco will be explain it to you. We will leave it to you Draco dear. Come on Arthur, let’s go visit the kids” stated Mrs. Weasley as she started to walk down the corridor.
Hermione stared at the backs of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley before she felt a certain someone standing close to her. She felt herself freeze as Draco leaned over and breathed into her ear “Well then let’s go Granger, I know of an empty classroom right down the hall.”
The sensation was there and gone the next second. Hermione felt herself breathe again and wondered as to why she felt hot and bothered all of a sudden. An all too familiar dull ache had started to spread at the bottom of her abdomen. Hermione turned around to see Malfoy staring at her. He looked at her once and then turned on his heel and started walking towards the empty classroom. Hermione found herself hurrying to follow him, after all Mr. and Mrs. Weasley were alright him and there just had to be a damn good reason for the behaviour that the three portrayed earlier. Hermione found herself walking into the classroom ahead of Malfoy to see that Malfoy had closed the door. She felt herself shiver a little as wards were put up around the room to avoid anyone from eavesdropping and a powerful locking charm was placed on the door. She watched Draco’s back as he took a deep breath and turned around and approached her.
----------x---------------------x------------------x-----------------x--------------x--------------x---------------x--------
Draco locked the door behind him and felt the intense stare of Hermione Granger. Draco knew that she must be trying to place him in a perspective that she understood. He took a deep breath and turned around to face her. Draco was once again thrown off by the beauty that stood in front of him. Her cinnamon coloured eyes framed by the bangs of her chestnut coloured hair gave her an appearance of an earthly angel. It was as if the light around her seemed to get sucked in towards her and made her shine all the more brilliantly. Draco thought that she was damn beautiful and without thought that was the first thing that came out of his mouth.
“You look really nice Granger,” said Draco without even noticing that his thoughts had just turned into words.
“Huh?” replied Hermione. She could not believe that Draco flipping Malfoy had just called the boring her beautiful. “umm you look nice as well Malfoy,” replied Hermione, trying to act polite, not that she needed to be polite to state the obvious.
Draco looked at her with a confused frown until he realized that he had said his thoughts out loud without meaning to. Draco took a brief breath to steady his nerves and formed his usual mask of nonchalance before placing it on. He stared at Hermione and thought about where to start from. He looked at her and observed the way in which she bit her lip and stared at him with uncertain eyes. Her chest was moving in sync with the breaths she was taking. She kept on moving at the same spot and licked her lips again and again while looking at him uncertainly. All in all, Hermione Granger was a fine specimen of a woman. Draco understood the telltale signs of her movement to be that of nervousness, so he decided to pacify her.
“Why don’t we take a seat Granger? We might as well make ourselves comfortable seeing as how it will take a while to explain to you exactly what is going on here” said Draco.
“Sure Malfoy,” replied Hermione while she took out her wand and conjured two armchairs with a table between them.
Draco noted the detail of the armchairs that Hermione had conjured. The detail was exquisite and this in turn portrayed Hermione’s magical competence and the extent of her concentration and focus. This pleased Draco for a reason that he could not fathom. “That is quite the magic that you have performed there Granger. I have to say that I’m pleased with such a graceful display of magic” said Draco.
Draco looked up from his examination of the armchairs just in time to see the spark of anger emanate from Hermione’s eyes. In a second her whole body had gone rigid and she was glaring at him. Draco looked on confused the entire time wondering as to what he did to cause for her to provide him with such a reaction.
“What’s the matter Malfoy, think that a little mudblood cannot possibly perform magic that is superior to purebloods” spat Hermione with venom. She had mistakenly taken his compliment as an insult to her heritage.
Draco understood exactly what had happened and cleared his throat before he started his long winded apology.
“Why don’t you sit down Granger and let me tell you something that you might want to know,” said Draco. “Before I start to explain to you what was happening in the corridor, I want to apologise to you for the manner in which I have treated you.”
Hermione, who was by this point completely shell-shocked, just dropped into her seat while staring at Draco Malfoy with her mouth open. He could not mean what she thought that he meant.
“I wish to appologise to you about the manner in which I have treated you over the course of the last six years,” Draco paused here to take a deep breath. He took a deep breath and looked into her eyes to and try to muster his sincerity to his eyes. ‘Gods he loved those cinnamon eyes’ thought Draco. “The manner in which you have been treated by me and my family is not correct Granger. I would like you to know that if I could, I would go back and change the past. Believe me, of the two of us, you aren’t the only one that loathed the past me.”
Hermione looked on as Draco Malfoy continued his apology. She could not believe that he had just apologised to her for the manner in which he had treated her. Hermione darted a hand below the armrest of the chair and pinched herself tightly. She felt what was probably the beginnings of a tiny bruise on the inside of her thigh.
‘This could not be happening. Draco Malfoy the bloody pompous arrogant ferret could not be apologising. This must be a dream, yes that is what it must be’, thought Hermione as she looked on at him.
She looked on as he was saying something about being forgiven by the weasleys and the fact that Dumbledore had taken him under his wing and he was currently a member of the order of the Phoenix. ‘Wait’, thought Hermione ‘did he just say that he joined the order!’ Hermione felt a flutter of hope at the pit of her stomach.
Hermione snapped out of her reverie and interrupted him with a barrage of her own questions. “Wait wait wait Malfoy. You mean to tell me that you have denounced the path set apart for you by your father and have joined the Order Of the Phoenix? That you have all of a sudden decided to join Harry whom you have hated since the first year that we started? That you have chosen to work along the very same mudbloods whom you despised with a passion that could rival and overcome even you know who’s hatred? I don’t believe this Malfoy, maybe this was a trick that you have planned all along to fool me into and I for one do not intend to fall for it. Did you think that perhaps you can have fun with the mudblood? Call her beautiful and play of the role of turning to the light in an attempt to do what humiliate me? You cannot harm me Malfoy no matter what type of a cruel joke you have thought up, I won’t let you hurt me!” exclaimed a heaving Hermione. She looked up to see Malfoy staring at her with an open mouth and looking confused. ‘Good’ thought Hermione, it served him right to think that he could hurt her. She watched as Malfoy stood up all of a sudden.
Draco stared at Hermione and was quickly thinking of a way to convince her. She looked to be on the verge of leaving and that was the last thing Draco wanted. He needed her support in order to attain the trust of potter and weasel. Draco wracked his brain for a way in which he can prove to her that what he was telling her was the truth. Then he realized that Dumbledore had forbidden him from letting the golden trio know of the manner in which he was initiated. Draco weighed his options and smirked when he realized that Dumbledore in his haste had forgotten to tell him that he can’t show the tattoo to someone. And with that in mind Draco put his hands to his robe and undid the strings holding it up to reveal a white shirt and a green tie. He stood up and let the robe hit the floor. He stared at Hermione in the eye and took out his wand while laying it on the chair behind him.
Hermione looked on as Draco stood up and removed the clasp and the strings holding his cloak up. Hermione felt herself tensing as she felt that he was up to something and she was not going to fall victim to his stupid ideas. She was just getting herself ready to uncoil herself from the room when his grey eyes pierced into hers. They showed her a sincerity that she found was hard to ignore. She sat captivated by his eyes until she realized that he had already removed his tie and was halfway through unbuttoning his shirt. His hard abs and sculpted chest were staring at her in the face. Hermione felt her mouth become parched all of a sudden and wondered what it would be like to have her hands and tongues over such a body.
‘Woooah slow down there girl,’ thought a bewildered Hermione. The heat had suddenly gone up in the room and Hermione for some reason felt hot and bothered in her nether regions. She unconsciously rubbed her knees together without realizing that she was doing it. She was so shocked throughout the whole ordeal that she didn’t even voice a complaint.
‘Not that there was a need to voice a complaint for getting such a view’ thought Hermione. She felt herself flush red the longer she stared at Malfoy’s chest. She heard a coughing sound to look up at Malfoy and looked at his amused expression. Hermione felt herself turn red to the tips of her toes and felt mortified beyond all reason. She cleared her throat of a sudden lump that had formed there and said “Wha..what is the me-meaning of this Malfoy?” Swallowed a very nervous Hermione.
Malfoy smirked at her and asked her “Granger do you know how an order member is initiated?”
Hermione looked confused at him and stated “Don’t they just ask Professor Dumbledore if they wish to join and Dumbledore allows them to join.”
“Yes, but there has to be something more than that right Granger. What if an order member wished to see if someone was truly a member of the Order of The Phoenix?”
“Well that’s obvious Malfoy, all you need to do is provide each order member with something that can easily be recognizable by another order member. Perhaps a piece of parchment stating that they are members of the order, or perhaps a crafted object that is found nowhere in the world except with the order members.”
“A parchment would be quite alright, but the problem with it is that with a flick of your wrist someone can copy it, and an object can be acquired from the existing order member by killing them or torturing them. So what other alternative remains Granger. Think hard, even Voldemort has put something similar like it into use.” Said Draco with a amused smile on his face. He watched as Granger tried to solve this little riddle. He could already see the cogs in her brain running at a break neck speed.
“It is true about what you said for the piece of parchment and the artefact is indeed too easy to steal. Nop those wouldn’t work. But something that is used by Voldemort,” said Hermione as she tapped her chin. Her eyes went wide with sudden realization as she realized the reason for him unbuttoning his shirt and the fact that Voldemort used a similar method further supported her idea that the mark was imprinted on skin. In her sudden excitement she stood up and grabbed Malfoy’s shirt and moved it from side to side. All of a sudden, Hermione noticed a green smear on the right hand side of Draco’s chest. She leaned in closer to get a closer look and noticed that it was the shape of a Dragon. From such a proximity Hermione could make out four words that were written on the dragon’s neck. The words read “Order of the Phoenix”.
‘My god it is true that Malfoy is a part of the order’ thought Hermione as her body resonated with the shocking waves. She remembered seeing a similar symbol on Professor Lupin’s chest when she had walked into his room unannounced. Only the creature on his chest had been a wolf. Perhaps these creatures symbolized the character of the person in itself. She stood there while marvelling the majestic air the beast had about him.
“He’s just like you Draco, the way he carries himself with that confidence and arrogance, he is definitely an exact replica of you” said Hermione with a soft smile on her face. She reached a finger towards the dragon but stopped when she realized what she was about to do. All of a sudden she looked up and found herself staring into grey eyes.
‘Does this situation seem familiar to you Ms. Granger’ snickered a voice inside Hermione’s head.
She became aware of how close he really was to her when she looked into his eyes. His face was inches away from hers and he was staring into her eyes with an intensity that could melt her right there. The close proximity combined with the musky smell that emanated from him had her blushing enough to outcompete a setting sun. Hermione felt that all too familiar heat in her nether regions and she felt herself getting a shade redder if that was even possible. She suddenly stepped back and started wringing her hands back and forth out of nervousness. She hoped that he had not been able to see the effect that he had had on her.
‘A Malfoy was still a Malfoy, manipulative and conniving and sly and god knows what,’ thought Hermione. She ignored the snickering voice in her head that had also wanted to add sexy to the list.
“I..um..uhum..I be-believe you Malfoy. I recognize that type of a symbol. I saw one on the back of Professor Lupin when I had walked in on him changing once,” said Hermione while casting her eyes about and looking at anywhere except him.
Draco had noticed the manner in which she had looked at him. Draco looked at her heaving chest and almost had to tear his eyes away from those big mounds. When he looked back at her face he realized that she was having difficulty making eye contact with him.
‘The shifting eyes added with the blushing face with the heaving chest all pointed to one thing – Granger had the hots for me me’ thought a very pleased Draco. ‘Perhaps I really do have a chance with her if my intuition is correct.’
All of a sudden Draco found himself smirking as he thought up a brilliant idea to spend time with Hermione.
“Well now you know that I have been initiated into the Order in this manner. Only to clarify, this symbol shows that my magical prowess is something that is equal to a grown wizard and also I am acknowledged by the other order members as one of them and not as a kid,” said Draco. “I was prohibited from telling you, Potter, Weasellete and the Weasel that I was initiated into the order as a grown wizard for reasons known to only Dumbledore. So you know that I have become a part of the order in this manner but the other three mentioned cannot find out about this.”
“Don’t worry Malfoy, I won’t rat you out,” said Hermione with a frown for calling Ron a weasel.
“Since we are going to be working together Granger, I think we should call each other with our first names, right Hermione?”
Hermione felt a slight shiver go down her spine at hearing her name said from his lips. She felt herself turning red again a bit and thought to herself that she just had to find a way to stop herself from blushing red all the time.
‘There must be some sort of spell to avoid it’ thought Hermione. She looked up to see that Draco was waiting for a answer and nodded her head while saying “Yes, that really is a silly thing to do, Draco.” The name felt foreign on her tongue, she liked it.
Draco felt his arousal increase when he heard her say his name. Gods he would like to hear her utter that name only it involved her tied and spread eagled on a green bed while being completely naked and at his whims. Draco shook his head to clear his head of the lecherous thoughts. If he hadn’t stopped, he just might have claimed her there on the spot bed or no bed.
‘Now that that was out of the way’ thought Draco ‘it is time to put in my little scheme of getting to spend time with her alone’
Draco told Hermione to take a seat and began to explain the events of the evening. He told her everything from the reason to why he decided to change over to their side from Voldemort’s to the point at which Dumbledore had tricked him into eating veritaserum. He also told her about the research that he had read from the Muggle word regarding the stem cell research as he wanted to help Dumbledore. He ended his story by telling her of the acceptance that the order members had bestowed on him.
Hermione was lost in her own thoughts as she listened to Draco’s tale. She felt her heart going out to him when he was talking about his father. She really did feel sorry for him because no child deserved to have their father treat their child in such manner. Also any child would feel bad for his father simply because they are blood relatives and share a bond that is perhaps one of the most unique types of bond that exists in this world. She listened to the rest of his tale and felt his sincerity when he told her about how he had apologised to Professor Lupin and the others for the mistakes he had committed when he was a child. Yes, Hermione hated the child that Draco Malfoy was, but he made the decisions with what he had and the fact that he chose to rise above that pureblood bigotry that he was fed since childhood, only proved to Hermione that Draco was a good person at heart and also a courageous person for going against his family. She realized that after all this ordeal, he would perhaps need a good friend to help him through the rough times ahead, and she personally vowed to herself to be there for him whenever he needed him.
‘I think you want to be much more than just friends’ snickered that voice inside Hermione’s head again.
She ignored that voice while making sure to not let any of that show on her face. She listened to his tale with rapt attention as he explained about Dumbledore’s diseased limb. Even she had noticed that the limb was decaying and slowly it was decaying the rest of his arm as well. She was dumbstruck when she found out that he was reading scientific journals from the muggle world, let alone anything muggle, but he was reading something that was muggle and quite a challenging topic at that. Hermione felt her respect for him grow with each word and truly wondered that the reason he was behind her in every class in marks was now perhaps due to his ability and intelligence rather than the connections that his father held. Hermione felt herself getting increasingly intrigued as Draco explained the manner in which he intends to help Professor Dumbledore, and she found herself getting more and more interested in his project.
Draco watched Hermione as she was getting more and more interested in his little project.
‘Good’ thought Draco. ‘This was the first step in getting Hermione to spend time with him’
He further explained his idea of mixing this genetic field, that Muggles were thriving in, with potions. He explained to her the manner in which he intended to use the muggle research and integrate into the potion making that they have learnt for the past six years. He was sure that if Hermione Granger the bookworm would have already read 7th year texts and would be as proficient at potion making as he himself was. He continued onwards to tell her that he would like to look into it and would also like her help if possible.
“Hermione I would like your help on this idea that I have because doing this on my own seems nearly impossible. I plan on asking Snape for help since I know that he’s on the order’s side now but it seems highly unlikely that he would have a lot of time to spend on this.”
“Sure Draco I don’t mind helping you out with this. In fact this is quite an interesting idea that you have thought up, and it has definitely caught my interest” smiled Hermione.
Draco felt his breath caught in his throat as he stared at her. She looked absolutely beautiful with the light from the candles along the wall on her face. The candles made her auburn hair look glazed and they appeared to shine and rustle every time her head shook from side to side. Long gone was the hairy nest that existed on her head. Her cinnamon coloured eyes showed him the sincerity and honesty that seemed unfamiliar, and yet endearing to him. No one other than his mother had bestowed such a look on him. He looked at her perfectly shaped lips, they were not rosy red but a pale colour of red and they were quite full. He looked at her overall sitting there in the light, and realized that Hermione Granger was perhaps as close to perfection to possible. Her ethereal looks combined with her intelligence was something that Draco had never encountered.
‘Before my head gets the better of me, I better draw a closure on this little meeting or else I just might find myself on a certain cinnamon eyed girl.’
Draco cleared his throat and began the final part of his idea. “Hermione as I have painfully made it aware to you throughout our past, that I have been brought up in a household that douses itself in the doctrines of pureblood bigotry” smirked Draco. “With that in mind, I have had little to or no exposure to the muggle society. I have read the scientific journals but those journals are the extent of my knowledge. For this project, I need to go in and talk to a facility that supports such research in the muggle world. As you might have an idea, I would like to ask you to come with me on this little excursion next weekend. Take me to a couple of places around muggle London and also taking me to a university perhaps where I can talk to a professor about this topic. And for all that you get to spend time with me Hermione. So how does it sound?”asked a smirking Draco.
“The whole trip thing is alright with me so long as it is next weekend and you don’t postpone it or any such thing. And yes I would be very interested in accompanying you on the trip as well as helping with the project. Although the company might be a setback, it’s for the greater good.
Draco just smirked at Hermione and she in turn just stuck her tongue out at him. This in turn led to the two of them laughing uproariously. Draco soon realized that it was getting late and it was time to leave. In their conversations he had forgotten to button up his shirt. While he was busy buttoning up his shirt, he noticed Hermione staring at his well sculpted chest and abs. He decided to give her a show by slowly and languidly buttoning up his shirt. He did just that and to his amusement he found her eyes glued to his chest till the last button had been closed. He put his tie and cloak on, and vanished the chairs that she had conjured for them. They both exited the room and Draco decided to escort Hermione till the prefect rooms that existed in the Gryffindor section of the castle. At the entrance, a portrait of a 7 year old girl and boy, they stood staring at each other awkwardly. Draco decided to break the awkward silence.
“Thankyou for being accepting of me once again, and once again I am sorry for the manner in which I have treated you. If I can, then I would go back in the past and change all that,” said Draco with remorse and guilt palpable in his eyes. “Fare you well Hermione and good night.”
Draco turned his back on her and was beginning to walk away when he suddenly felt something barrel into his back. Hermione had launched herself at him after witnessing the guilt and remorse in his eyes. She was holding him around his midriff when they had settled their precarious position.
“Don’t worry about the past Draco, it is where it belongs. What matters is the now and in the now you are on the correct side making correct decisions,” Hermione turned Draco around and reached up with her hand to cup his cheek while looking into his troubled but distinctly beautiful eyes. “You were not yourself at that time. The words you said were the ones that your father had fed you. Therefore I forgive you. I forgave you long ago Draco, at the end of fourth year. But the decisions you have taken today and the steps that you have advanced today, have filled me with pride and for an unknown reason joy. Yes, I loathed you for the past few years, but in the past few hours you have turned that loath into respect for you and also pride. I am proud of you Draco Abraxas Malfoy and the fact, that you are willing to step out of your father’s shadow and make you your own man, has gained you more respect in my eyes than possible. I am proud of you Draco and I am also honoured that you would feel that we can perhaps become friends and extended you hand of friendship in my direction. This action was perhaps the last step that you would have had to take, and you took it. So, don’t let the past weigh you down Draco. You are your own man and you make your own identity from this point onwards. It won’t be a easy process, but I promise you that I will be there with you through each and every difficulties that you might find yourself in front of. The order of the Phoenix is with you Draco, the weasley’s are with you, and lastly I am with you as well.” Hermione smiled lightly at Draco as she removed her hand from his cheek. She looked at him as he stared at her without any hint of malice on his face, he looked at her with sincerity and honesty. He gave her a small smile and enveloped her tiny frame. He five foot and four inches frame was completely engulfed by his six feet one inch frame. She felt him lower his head and put it on her shoulder. Hermione in turn put her hands on his back and held her there for what felt like an eternity. After a while she felt Draco release a breath that he had been holding and he slowly extracted his body from hers. She noticed how well she fit into him and the sense of security she felt when she was in his arms. She had felt content to just be there in his arms. She removed her arms and looked at Draco. She went up on the tips of her toes and kissed his cheek.
“Good night Draco” smiled Hermione.
“Good night Hermione” said Draco with a smile. He turned on his heel and left.
Hermione watched him leave. He reached the end of the corridor and looked back at her. Her heart did a double flip and missed a beat all at once. He waved at her and walked on towards the slytherin portion of the castle. Hermione sighed and shook her head from all the thoughts that were plaguing her mind. The last hug felt a tad bit too comfortable. All of a sudden she couldn’t wait till they were going to leave on the trip to the muggle world. Today was Thursday, so the trip was scheduled for Saturday. Only two days were left. Hermione went inside her common room and went directly to her bedroom. She fell down on the bed and looked at the ceiling with a goofy smile. Only two days left, she reminded herself. She could hardly wait.
