Hermione knew she was dreaming, she must have been because she didn’t remember how she had gotten out of the castle. She looked down at herself and noticed that she was wearing a long white dress that bunched under her bust cutting off the low v-neck. It trailed behind her as she walked barefoot out to the forest, she looked behind her back at the castle; very few windows glowed with signs of life it must be late the castle seemed asleep. She kept walking along the soft grass to the forest line, the wind behind her nudging her along.
She didn’t know where she was going; she only had a feeling like she was supposed to be somewhere. That it was important, that she couldn’t be late. The moon was high in the sky, “It must be close to one in the morning,” she thought.
Hermione had reached the tree line continuing into the forest, never noticing the headmaster’s office window light up. She walked along the leafy forest floor over roots from the twisted trees, avoiding the sharp thorns of the knurled bushes in the Forbidden Forest.
The wind was whispering for her to keep going that she was almost there, that soon we would be one. She came to the same peaceful clearing that she always rested in while she visited the forest. She walked over to the tree and kneeled next to it; suddenly to her left a soft white glow appeared. Hermione didn’t know what to do; it was like she was frozen in place. Her brain telling her that she should run, but her heart and the wind that brushed against her body told her she was safe. That she had nothing to fear.
Suddenly from the light the most beautiful woman Hermione had ever seen appeared. If she was honest with herself she would say she looked a lot like the woman. She had long golden hair that reached to her waste that curled perfectly on the ends. Her skin was soft with not a blemish on it, her skin was so radiant she seemed to lightly glow. Hermione took in the rest of her body and noticed that she had the perfect proportions, beautiful round hips, and full breasts hidden behind the long golden dress she wore. Hermione’s eyes traveled up her body finally to fall on her face and her breath caught in her throat. The woman’s lips were pink and full, her nose sharp but not harsh, but it was her eyes that took Hermione’s breath from her; eyes as blue as the sky she thought she might float away like a cloud in them.
“Hello my Inanna, my daughter.” The woman said to her.
“I’m sorry,” Hermione said, “but you are mistaken, my name is Hermione Granger. Who are you?”
She walked over to Hermione and smiled down at her. “My name is Demeter; you are in fact my youngest daughter. You are a child of the earth, you are my Inanna.”
Hermione had so many thoughts swirling through her head, what was this dream woman talking about?
“I am only dreaming this!” Hermione said to the woman not wanting to understand what the goddess was telling her.
“No daughter this is not a dream. I have called you from your bed on your seventeenth year to receive the gifts of your birth right.” Demeter said to her.
“My birth right?.. What are you talking about?! I don’t understand!” Hermione’s mind was whirling a mile a minute. Her breath started coming in short gasps; she couldn’t seem to catch it she was pancaking. Demeter could see the distress in her youngest daughter; she walked over and placed her hand on Hermione’s shoulder sending her calming thoughts through her touch.
Hermione could feel the soothing vibrations running down her arm into her chest releasing the tension she felt there. She took a deep breath and gazed into the eyes of her “mother”.
“Listen closely daughter and I will answer all the questions you have.” She sat down next to where her daughter rested and Hermione laid her head down in the goddesses lap, she didn’t know what compelled her to do so, it just felt right. Demeter started to run her fingers through Hermione’s soft golden brown hair and began speaking again.
“Inanna, do you remember the story your father told you as a little girl, that you were a gift from the mother.” Pausing waiting for Hermione to acknowledge that she knew of what the goddess spoke of; “Well he was telling you the truth little dove.” Hermione looked up at her with questioning eyes.
“Your mother and father could not have a child of their own, your mother prayed to me for months asking for me to gift her with a blessing; she asked me for you. One night, the night of your birth I came to her, I told her that you were both of our daughters that you were born from her love and my heart; that you were very special and that you should never want for anything.” At this Hermione smiled fondly as she remembered the love she always felt as a child. It was then that something occurred to her.
“The orchard, Father always said that it was a gift from you, that it was suddenly there after my birth.” Demeter nodded down at her beautiful child, “That is right Inanna, my happiness of your arrival brought the trees to life, a reminder of my love for you,” she said as she brushed a soft curl from Hermione’s face.
“You’ve always felt different haven’t you dove, always been able to feel the vibration of life in the earth beneath your feet; felt the pulse of life coming from the trees when you touch them. You have always felt the connection of life to everything around you, the wind always whispering things you could never understand.” Hermione again nodded for the goddess continued.
“It’s your birth right, it is your gift. You are the earth and the earth is you. As the earth lives so shall you, as you are happy the sun shall shine and the flowers shall grow, and when you are sad so shall the rain fall and the earth crumble to ash. You are blessed with the powers of the earth. You are destined to heal her and those that live from her; you are the only one that can help the chosen one save the world from this snake creature.”
Hermione opened her mouth to speak but was silenced by her mother.
“Your father always told you that the earth was a gift, a gift that was only yours. He was right little dove, all that you see is yours. Yours to protect, yours to grow, and to heal; here dove let me show you,” Demeter took Hermione’s hand in her own and placed it on the grass floor next to where they rested.
“All you have to do is will it and so it shall be,” a soft warm amber glow emitted from their joined hands and there from the ground a small lime green vine sprung from between the blades of emerald green grass. Hermione gasped as she watched it grow larger and small leaves start to emit from the sides. Her shocked expression turned into one of sheer pleasure as she watched small purple flowers start to bloom from the plant, but then something happened. The beautiful vine she had watched come from nothing started to turn brown and wither, crumpling into itself turning black from death. Slowly it turned to ash and the wind came with a cool puff and blew it off into the forest.
Hermione didn’t notice the tears that had started to run down her pink cheeks until her mother’s soft hand whipped them away.“You see now Inanna, all of this is yours to create and yours also to destroy should you choose. It is the blessing that I have given you Inanna, you shall use this gift to restore the right harmony to the world that this snake lord has already begun to destroy.”
Hermione was shaking her head, this was too much. Demeter was wrong it wasn’t her it couldn’t be. She was just plain old muggle born Hermione Granger, best friend to the chosen one Harry Potter. He was the chosen one, just him! Only Harry!..
“This can’t be right, there must be a mistake I’m not Inanna, I can’t be your daughter!” Hermione said as she sat up from the goddess’s lap.
“You are very much my daughter dear Hermione, this is who you are, this is what you are destined to do. You will help Harry Potter kill Voldemort. You will do so daughter because I have chosen you to.” Demeter stood from her where she had been seated next to Hermione.
“My dove you will not be alone in this, there are those you are destined to follow the two of you through this journey to help protect and comfort you. Two who you do not yet trust, and two who are like family now, you will find them dove and they will find you and you will share your gifts with them to help in the fight. The first two in fact will find you in the morning if I’m correct.” At this she turned and winked at her befuddled daughter.
“Now it’s time for me to be leaving, but not before I open your gift for you.” Demeter came to stand in front of Hermione, “I know you still have many questions dove, and they will be answered; but for right now do you accept me as your mother, do you accept your destiny?”
Hermione didn’t know what to say, she was still so confused and the goddess was right, her mind was whirling with questions needing answers. Demeter said this was her destiny that she would help Harry defeat Voldemort with her gifts, and they needed all the help they could get at this point. She looked up and stared hard into her eyes, the open and honest blue eyes of the goddess stared back at her and all Hermione felt was comfort and trust.
“Ok. Yes I am ready to accept my destiny, I see you as my Mother, I wish for my gift.” Hermione said to Demeter.
The goddess smiled down at her daughter bringing her hand up in front of Hermione’s face, her fingertips began to glow amber again and she rested them against Hermione’s forehead.
“You are my daughter; you are a daughter of the Earth. Inanna, my little dove, come into your light and hear the world.” The goddess ran her finger tips down the side of Hermione’s face to her jaw, down her throat to rest against her chest where the amber light began to grow. “Hear my voice and come to life and see for the first time the earth as yours.” She smiled down at her as she heard Hermione inhale sharply.
“Goodnight my daughter, and welcome to the world,” Turning from her she began moving back toward the forest.
Hermione faintly noticed Demeter being enveloped by the white light she came from before the vibrations began to flow throughout her body from where the light was glowing from her chest.
It was like little flames were licking everywhere Hermione could feel on her body, she laid upon the cool grass no longer able to remain kneeling. As she lay there the vibrations running through her body began to increase, Hermione felt the moan build in the back of her throat as the pleasure becoming too much to bare. As the dull amber glow spread down her body the hotter Hermione seemed to become, she was griping at the grass trying to control what was happening to her body but it was in vain.
The amber had reached all the way to her toes and a small bud of tension had formed at her core. The wind started to whip around Hermione as her moans grew louder, leaves swirling around the clearing creating what looked like a small cyclone with Hermione at the center. Finally the howl of the wind grew so loud that it drowned out her cries of pleasure and the bud burst open and Hermione screamed into the night shuddering as her orgasm took over her body. The amber glow seemed to settle into her skin making it seem as if she glittered in the moonlight.
Hermione cracked her eyes open with the last of her strength long enough to see the once leaf carpeted clearing was now a blanket of small blue flowers. Closing her eyes with a small smile Inanna fell into a peaceful sleep as the warm wind whispered into her ear a sweet lullaby.
She never knew that up in the castle the Headmaster had woken as soon as she had step foot into the forest and had sent his most trusted professor off to get the Head Girl and Boy to find the missing student only to find that it was the Head Girl herself that was missing…
