Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, nor any of the characters from the books or movies. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
AN:So, third of my chapter threes. This leaves only Phoenix Reborn. Enjoy.
I decided to take their activities slowly, what with the babies, and all. So, this will be a teaser of things to come. Sorry.
n: You are fast becoming one of my favorite reviewers. As you will see, I have split the wizarding world into four parts. Characters will remain with their story, so don't expect the people here to interact much in the other three stories. This includes creatures and beasts.
Buckbeak, Remus, Tonks, Pansy and Terry are tied to this story, along with a few surprises. Try to guess them as they come up, if you can.
Chapter Three: How Do We Work Things Out?
Sirius knew that he was safe.
Severus would never hurt him.
But, when he found himself strapped to a chair, gagged with a bit, and staring at the Metamorphagus wearing a very imposing looking suit of black leather, he had trouble remembering those facts.
“I would suggest you remain very still, Puppy.” Snape said with his usual sneer, but the soft features of what Sirius now considered his “normal' face could not pull off the look as well as the dungeon bat look could.
Normally, he would have fought more, but he needed to get to work, and Severus wouldn't remove the plug unless he cooperated, but this was turning into something from before. Before he was pregnant. Before they had moved in together. Before they had set up their 'rules' for sex games.
“I want you to consider trying something new. Thinking about this Lordship, I decided I want to add another component to our play.” Snape leaned over him, his lips brushing Sirius' ear. “I want you to bow to me and call me Master or My Lord. Whenever I wear this . .” here the potions maker stood tall, arms out to display his leather duds to his lover, “I am completely in charge and you are my slave. There will be other times when I will be submissive to you, but you said you don't care for being a Lord.”
Sirius would have disenchanted his mate, at these facts, but his mouth was blocked by the bit, trapping his words. He held still, allowing Severus to complete his explanation, before attempting to clarify his personal desires and the limitations he would agree to, for his part of this kind of play.
Right now, his main concern was that Patsy was coming to pick him up and he didn't much like the idea of his little girl catching them like this.
“The plugs, straps and gags will be an integral part of our play, so you should try to become adjusted to them. I like having you at my mercy, somewhat uncomfortable and begging for me to show you favor. I even like inflicting a little pain, some punishments and a bit of torture. I am a Slytherin, after all.”
Sirius kept his eyes from rolling by blinking slowly, breathing through his nose to keep the bit from making him drool, but his mind worked faster than Severus remembered. He had his own plans, since his lover had decided to play rough. He waited, without making any move that might be perceived as acceptance. Eventually, the other man had to get tired of his own voice.
“So, now that I have laid out the ground rules, what do you think?”
Sirius tilted his head in an obvious, “Did you forget I can't speak?” gesture and Severus glared at him. Next, he raised his shoulders as if to say, “You're gonna have to let me go if you want to talk about this.”
“Oh, for pity sake.” Snape snapped, waving his wand and banishing the gag.
“Now, the rest?” Sirius said.
“What?” Snape glared some more, but Sirius just waited. “You haven't answered me.”
“And, I'm not gonna, unless you let me go.”
“I won't. Answer me.”
“Nope. We don't change to rules under duress. One of our first rules. You agreed. We can play, in lots of ways, but no one forces the other to accept new games.”
“Fine.” Snape snapped his wand and Sirius was free, again. “So, what is your answer?”
“Still one more little toy to remove, Severus.”
“No. I want you to keep that in. I think you should keep it, all day.”
“Not when I have to work. That was the agreement. Now, take it out, Snape. Patsy's on her way and I need it out before she gets here. I fulfilled my part of the blackmail, so take it out, Severus.”
“Again, Fine. On your knees, Black.” Snape waved his hand toward the couch and Sirius crawled onto it. He felt the end behind him dip as his lover crawled on. The long fingers pried his cheeks apart and worked the plug loose, slowly pulling it out, while shifting it from side to side, twisting and rolling it as it went.
“Oooh, Snape. Please, hurry.” Sirius moaned as his lover teased his hole with the toy, working it in and out just enough to make his knees turn to rubber and his belly flutter with arousal.
“I still want my answer, Puppy.” Snape said and Sirius almost agreed to anything, just to get his mate to finish him off.
“I'll answer you, when you get it out.” Sirius struggled with the words, wanting to give in, but concerned that the Slytherin side of Snape would win out, and the prick would force him to keep the plug in while he worked.
A dramatic sigh accompanied the rush of air over Sirius' shoulder and the plug came free. Fighting a rush of disappointment, Sirius flipped over, catching Snape in a passionate kiss, complete with tongue and hair pulling, before he jumped from the couch, rushed into the bedroom and began dressing.
The kiss stunned the Slytherin, so he was a few steps behind his Gryffindor lover. As he moved, Sirius spoke in a rush, hoping to finish dressing and be ready before Patsy arrived at the apparation point.
“I'm not calling you Lord or Master if it means you're gonna play rough and override our rules. We agreed on them, from the start, Snape. I don't mind a little rough sex, I put up with the dog jokes, but I'm not into pain, and I don't want it. Especially, while I'm carrying the babies. Now, get over your problems with Lordship, I have, and don't pressure me, okay?”
Snape stood in the bedroom doorway, watching his lover dress and scowling. He hadn't expected Sirius to agree to everything, but he wanted some revisions to their original rules. They had made them before trying some of the things he was now interested in, so hadn't realized he would want them.
“I'm going to work. I'll be home early, but we have appointments that I can't cancel just to hash this out. I love you, Severus, but I'm not ready for that stuff.”
“Okay, Puppy. We'll talk more this evening. I have some potions to brew, so don't disturb me when you get home.”
And with a quick kiss, they separated for their day.
Pansy arrived just as Sirius reached the edge of the field. They climbed into the panel truck that Sirius had fixed up for the job, with some help from Arthur and the twins. It was mostly muggle, drive train, running gear, and suspension, but the interior and cargo area was decked out with some special magic devices that suited the two just perfectly. Pansy climbed through the rear of the driver section and double checked the cages in the back. “All ready, Daddy.” she said and Sirius put the truck into gear.
The idea had come to him when Buckbeak had run out of ferrets and they had chosen this house as their new base of operations. It was conveniently located just outside of a little town, not even a village really, so little it hardly warranted a name, in fact, where muggles had congregated near fields full of rodents and pests.
And what does a town so close to wildlife need? An exterminator, of course.
“We got two cases of rodents in basements and an owl in a rafter. I'm hoping that Eeylops wants the owl, and that the rodents are big, cause I'm running low.” Sirius said as they turned toward the north end of town, at the fork in the road.
They worked weekends, since Sirius and Snape were on staff at Hogwarts, but this was father/daughter time, and helped stock the shed that Sirius used to supply his pets.
“If the owl is pretty, maybe I could keep it.” Pansy said with a smile that was reserved for her father. It was hard to believe that they could interact so smoothly after the years of separation, but she loved her father more for the effort he put into their relationship, and because of the stiff way her adoptive father had treated her.
“You need an owl, Patsy?” Sirius slowed down and pulled into a driveway, tucking his wand into the sleeve of his coveralls and turning to look into the cargo area.
“The one I use is really my mom's. I've never had one of my own.”
“This is probably just some old barn owl, so let's sell it and get you something nice. I think a horned owl would be more your style. They're temperamental, but once trained, they're smart as . . . a wise old owl.”
“Can they be trained to bite people I don't like?”
“That's my girl. Let's see what we have here, okay?”
The owl was sitting in a cage, right next to two voles, a badger and three polecats, when they headed back toward Heartridge Hall. Near the edge of town, a man stood in the road and waved them down.
“Can we help you?” Sirius grinned as he affected an Welsh brogue.
“Got something crashing around in the attic. Missus is scared witless. Can you give a look?”
“Pats, are you okay with a late stop?” Sirius called back and his daughter poked her head through the curtains that separated the cab from the back.
“Sure, Daddy. I don't mind.”
“Then, let's have a look.”
The cottage had a crawl space, more than a true attic, and it was stuffed with odds and ends. When Sirius and Pansy closed the door behind them, it was as silent as a dungeon.
“I don't see anything.” the girl said and Sirius smiled as he put out his lumos spell.
“Sometimes you see with more than your eyes. This has a very familiar feel to it. I'm remembering a lesson with Grubbly-Plank from third year.”
“We had Hagrid. Had us raising blast-ended skrewts.”
“Waste of time, that. You would have loved this lesson. It was about bats. In fact, I think that was when Severus got his second nickname.” Sirius covered her wand tip and whispered. “Stay quite and don't move about too much.”
With her wand extinguished, the darkness enfolded them, but a sliver of the moon filtered in through a crack in the wall and their eyes adjusted. As she waited, Sirius moved away and waved his wand in slow rounded motions. A glow surrounded her, but she could make out the darkness increasing near her father.
When he had finished his spell, Sirius opened his mind and let out a soft vibrating sound that echoed off of the walls. Pansy watched as a bit of shadow separated from the wall, near the far corner, and aimed straight for Sirius. It flopped a bit, like it was going around invisible objects, or like he had Accio'd it to him, and landed splat-dab in the middle of his chest, clinging like a baby to his shirt.
“Lumos Maxima.” Sirius breathed out the words and his wand lit up like a sparkler. The object curled up tighter against his body and turned its head, for it was a tiny little beast, away from the light. “Hullo, little one.”
“It's a bat!” Pansy stated the obvious for her father.
“In fact, it is a Barbastella barbastellus, or Barbastelle Bat. We learned about them in Care of Magical Creatures. Bats are very important in the making of potions, for use as familiars to squibs and as pets. They can only be trained to deliver small letters, at night, so aren't favorites for that task. However, they are useful to night dwellers, like Vampires, and this one is injured. Let's get him out of here. Cast the spell, Pats.”
“Animus Petrificus.” Pansy chanted and the little beasts dropped into Sirius' hands with a look of resignation. They put it into a cloth bag and proceeded to extinguish their wands and return to the main house.
“Here's your culprit.” Sirius told the man, a Mr. B.J. Brownlee. “Got lost, messed up his sonar, and now he's done for. Won't be botherin' you folks no more.”
“Why, thank you, Mr. Black. How much do we owe you?”
“No charge, Mr. Brownlee. Consider it a favor.”
“At least, have a bit of the Missus' Swampberry pie. It's a secret recipe.” Mr. Brownlee said and his wife beamed from behind him.
“We may have worked up an appetite. What you think, Pats?”
“I likes me some pie.” Pansy responded and the couple set about making them at home. When they finally left, it was with a complete pie to go and a basket full of breads, home-pressed cheese and a bottle of Mr. Brownlee's own brew.
Pansy kissed Sirius good-bye, after they had unloaded their catches, and apparated from just outside of the wards. She was tired, but had a belly full and a sense of satisfaction at a day's work well done.
Sirius settled the beasts into the shed, put the owl in the rookery and took the cage with the bat to his worktable at the end of the stables. He waved his wand, diagnosing the little creature's broken wing and determining if he could set it properly. It would heal, had already begun, but the bat might not ever fly straight again. It was a shame, and he should probably just trade it off to the apothecary, who would put the creature out of its misery, but the beady little eyes had gotten to him and he just couldn't do it.
“Okay, this might sting, a little. Just trust me, okay?” wand up, Sirius waved it with a stiff jerk and a slash, using wordless magic to keep from shocking the tiny winged thing any more than necessary, and a sharp snap, followed by a quick screech, told him that he had been right. “Now, let's get you fed and let you rest. You'll need to heal up, if I'm to let you out of this cage.”
A few beetles later, the little bat was dangling from the top of the cage with his wings wrapped around him and a contented look on his face. Sirius had decided it was a male, for no other reason than he wanted it to be, and had named him Barney. “There was a skinny kid named Barney, in Slytherin, a few years below me, who I would have bet was part bat.”
Severus had finished a long list of potions, that had been ordered by the school nurse, and had just started on some for his personal stores, when he felt the wards indicate that Sirius was home. It was a special trait of Old Family wards that when the “Lord of the Manor” arrived, anyone who lived in the house would know so that they could be attentive to their master. This just reminded Severus of his lover's rejection that morning and soured his disposition even further. He continued with his work, knowing that the elves would inform him when dinner was ready and he wouldn't come out until then. It was childish, but he was feeling surly, and didn't care.
The elf arrived, as anticipated, to tell him that dinner was prepared, but that Master Sirius had gone to bed early and would not be joining him.
“That is fine.” he told the creature, but his mind had other questions. Was his mate that upset with him over their earlier disagreement? Had he risked the relationship for a bit of rough play? What would he have to do to make amends?
He cleared up his lab, put away his potions and went to have his meal. The addition of pie, which the elves rarely made, because neither he or Sirius much cared for sweets, was the progenitor to even more unanswered questions. As he readied for bed, his thoughts were whirling around those questions, and his sleeping lover would not be answering them tonight.
He crawled into bed, wrapping his arms around the other wizard and pulling him close. Sirius grunted a little, but otherwise made no complaint, so Severus just snuggled close and drifted off to sleep. His questions found their own beds, not to stir again for several days.
