“I can’t have a daughter!” Loki said, he didn’t sound angry but he didn’t sound convinced either “It’s not possible”
“I don’t know how it was done, brother” Thor said “But I assure you it was done” When Loki shook his head Thor went on “I looked in at her, saw her lying on her pillow fast asleep”
“And?” Loki said almost eagerly.
“Pale heart-shaped face” Thor answered “Beautiful jet-black ringlets and according to the pictures I saw quite the sneaky little smirk”
“That could be anyone” Loki said though he knew that it was not true.
“She has your eyes” Thor said making his brother stop in the middle of his pacing “Blue-green, large and innocent looking”
“You said she was asleep” Loki pointed out.
“There were pictures on the wall” He said.
“What’s her name?” He asked the blond man.
“Lucky is her first name” Thor answered with a grin.
“Lucky?” Loki repeated in horror “She named my daughter Lucky?!”
“Well according to Luna the child is lucky to be alive today” Thor explained “When Hermione found out that she was pregnant she took three abortion potions but nothing would make her lose that baby. Her full name is Lucky Lidia Red Granger”
“Lucky because she lived” Loki said slowly “Lidia isn’t a bad name Granger is Hermione’s last name why Red?”
“Apparently that was the color of the potion that should have terminated the pregnancy” Thor answered.
“Why name her after something so horrible?” Loki wondered.
“Because as Hermione told Luna” The other man said “It is a reminder of the amazing life she almost ended”
“Should I...” He stopped “Should I go down there?”
“Yes” Thor answered without hesitation “She needs you now more than ever but I have a few questions first”
“What?” He snapped.
“Did you want to have a child with her and did you use your strongest magic?” Thor asked.
“I thought about what children with her would be like and yes we used a lot of magic the last night we were together” He blushed slightly at the memories and then cursed his luck that he actually got hard just thinking about her “I have to get ready”
Loki walked to his rooms to collect some clothes and to think about the issue that had risen. When he originally left England he had assumed that they would return home, kill Odin and then he would be able to come back. Then his mind finally caught up with him and he realized that having feelings for a mortal girl was stupid. Over the long weeks and the even longer months he was able to forget how he felt for her and now, four years later, he had been so sure that he could see her and feel nothing more than attraction. With this in mind, Loki said farewell to Thor and made him promise to tell him when their father turned up then he left Asguard in search of the only woman who had ever stolen his heart and the daughter he had never wanted.

Hermione watched Lidia playing with some toys in the dirt of the backyard when she felt someone enter her wards. The wards only let her know that someone was there and didn’t try to stop them from entering so it couldn’t be someone meaning her or her baby harm. She turned to see the intruder and realized that she didn’t entirely recognize this elderly man that stood before her. He was a proud man and she could tell that he had been through a lot in a short amount of time. He was tall and sort of regal in the way he held himself, he had white hair and a patch over one eye and a sneer on his face. It dawned on her as he came closer why he looked as familiar as he did, it was Loki’s father Odin and when she realized that, it was like someone dropped ice in her stomach. She moved away from him fast but never turned her back on him, she clutched her wand tightly in her hand and kept her eyes trained on him as she called to her daughter.
“Lidia” She called “Lidia, listen to me right now”
“What is it mama” She asked, her voice moving closer to the two.
“Lidia don’t come over here” Hermione snapped.
“So” Odin said his eyes trained on Hermione but had strayed over to Lidia “That’s the little bastard child of my mistake of a sons”
“Don’t talk about her” Hermione hissed moving in to his line of sight so he could no longer see Lidia.
“You surprise me, Hermione Granger” He said watching her eyes widen slightly “Oh yes. I know all about you the witch that captured Loki’s heart, you know other than Frigga, my wife, I didn’t think there could ever be anyone so stupid as to delude themselves in to thinking that Loki is anything other than a murdering freak”
“Lidia” Hermione said again “Please, go inside and floo to Uncle Harry’s house, you do remember how to use the floo right?”
“Yes mama” She said “But...”
“No time for talking, Lidia!” Hermione snapped “Just go!” She heard the sounds of little feet running and her hand tightened on her wand when Odin’s body jerked, seemingly without his knowledge, towards following her.
“So smart” He said watching Hermione’s wand hand “Like her father, I’m sure”
“She is” Hermione said proudly “I need you to leave now”
“I will” He promised “I just wanted to let you know that though I leave now I will be back and when I come back you and that little brat will be dead”
“Why?” She asked a curse already on the tip of her tongue “Why kill me, why kill Lidia and why did you kill your wife?!” Now that she was asking the questions she couldn’t stop them from coming.
“Why not?” He said “Frigga wouldn’t listen to me, wouldn’t see truth...she believed he would get better, that he was good and that he deserved a chance to be king. My son was to be king one way or another”
“Did it ever occur to you that maybe there was another life that Thor wanted?” Hermione asked, already knowing about Jane and the sacrifices that Thor went through for her.
“My son knew what was expected of him” Odin told her “He is a man, he was groomed to be a king and Loki was not”
“Then why not just send him to earth or let Thor do with him what he wanted?” Hermione asked “Oh” She said with a sneer “You were afraid that Thor didn’t want to be king” She smirked when he glared at her “You sent him to Earth to learn to not be so hot-headed and to learn to not fly off on the slightest whim but it backfired didn’t it?” She moved closer to him “He met someone, fell in-love and realized that being king wasn’t the most important thing in the world like he once thought it was”
“I will kill you” He said again quietly “After Loki returns because he is” He looked towards the sky “I can tell and he is going to be so upset about the fact that you had his bastard child that he is going to beat you to death and then suffocate his daughter in her sleep”
“I will kill you myself” Hermione threatened “You don’t come near me or my daughter...”
“You are such a little girl” He sneered.
“And you are a scared old man” She said “I have killed men with thoughts such as yours before and you do not scare me”
“Such brave talk” He said looking back up at the sky with a smirk “I’ll be taking my leave but I will see you again, Miss. Granger”
“I look forward to it” She answered. When he was gone she looked towards the sky and noted that it was getting stormy, the wind was picking up and there was a bolt of lightening then right before her stood the man that she hadn’t seen in four years. She walked slowly towards him, he was smiling at her as if he’d been gone for only a few days and not years. She wanted to run to him and throw her arms around him and then kiss him until he begged for air, she wanted to knock him to the ground and fuck him senseless but she didn’t do either of those things. Hermione walked over to where she was standing with a smile on his face and she decked him, knocking his head to the right hard before she punched him in the stomach and walked off towards the house.
A/N: Not the welcome back I’m sure he was planning but I loved it. How’d you like it?
