As the hours in Asguard bled into days and the days leaked into weeks Hermione slowly started to forget about her troubles at home and gave in to the wonder of the world around her. Thor’s wife, Sif, had taken a little while to warm up to her but as they had rounded the third day that she was there the other woman started to do just that. Now, three weeks later her muscles in her arms and legs were stronger than they had been even when she was fighting for her life. She and Sif spent many hours fighting, doing Yoga (which Hermione had introduced her to), jogging and then doing magic. Sif wasn’t very magical but she did have a knack for being able to mimic Hermione’s magic even if she didn’t have any of her own. They had jogged three miles around the castle and were finally sitting in the Asguardian version of a Steam Room. It was an enclosed room with stone walls and steam seemed to seep through the stones and was seeping through the room. Hermione was sweating but her recently over-tensed muscles were starting to relax and she couldn’t help but sigh contentedly.
“So” Sif said “How are the wet dreams about my husband?”
“Oh my god” Hermione laughed, she had in an attempt to make the other woman like her, told her about the wet dreams because of their connection. To her surprise Sif had laughed and told her that she had already known about that because Thor had told her.
“How are they?” She pressed when Hermione didn’t answer her “Getting better?”
“Well” Hermione thought about it and was shocked to realize that in the last three weeks that she had been in Asguard she hadn’t had one dream about the blond god “Yes, they are getting better”
“Frigga” Sif said “That was Loki and Thor’s mother used to talk about such connections. She claimed that if one kept themselves busy and took care of the sexual needs than sooner or later the need to be with the god you drank from will lessen and lessen until it is no more”
“What about...” Hermione stopped quickly and smiled at her friend “And I don’t mean anything naughty by this, but what about just going on and having sex with the god you drank from?”
“That would only make it worse” Sif answered “Frigga said that it would make the pull to the god stronger until you couldn’t live without him or you would die”
“Well...” Hermione sighed “That doesn’t sound very pleasant”
“Not at all” Sif said “So when you go home just work out every day, keep your mind occupied and fuck the hell out of Loki”
“If only” Hermione muttered “There hasn’t really been a lot of sex in my house”
“Too bad” Sif said “I was always curious...but...never mind” She blushed.
“What?” Hermione asked now completely intrigued “What is it?” She smiled.
“Loki was always so quiet” She said “He was always planning and cunning and sometimes he seemed so shy as if he were looking for someone to take care of him” She laughed slightly and shook her head “Sometimes he seemed so gentle, like a simple touch from him would be hardly felt and yet would make your skin feel electric”
“What are you asking exactly?” Hermione asked her.
“Well” She continued “I was always friends with Thor, therefor I hardly talked to Loki however I’m not blind and I did have a major crush on him when we were teenagers” She giggled “He didn’t feel the same way but I was always curious...if he was...you know...” She trailed off blushing “Good...in bed I mean”
“You want to know what sex is like with him?” Hermione asked “Fine. I’ll tell you but you have to tell me how Thor is”
“Deal” She laughed heartily “You first!”
“Sex with Loki is...” She thought for a minute “Intense. He pays so much attention to every part of my body, he kisses everything, licks everything and makes things clench within me that I didn’t even know existed” She let out a shuddering breath “As intense and romantic as he can be he can also be super dominant, throwing my body around, holding me down tying me up, biting, kissing, hair pulling...intense”
“Wow” Sif said fanning herself with a laugh.
“Sometimes he throws his image” Hermione dropped her head back with moan as she thought about all the fun they’d had...once upon a time “Three Loki’s and one me...that’s a fun night”
“I want some” Sif said with a laugh “I knew I should have gotten him drunk and taken advantage of him!”
“SIF!” Hermione gasped in horror “You are so bad. Now tell me about Thor!”
“He’s...” She frowned “He’s good. Really he is, but he’s so afraid that he’s going to hurt me that it’s like soft love-making and I want nothing more than some good hard fucking”
“Then tell him that” Hermione said “Tell him what it is that you want and not what he wants to hear”
“Maybe the same advice could go for you and Loki” Sif said softly.
“Maybe your right” Hermione said thinking about how Loki had come in to her life and changed everything, making her love him even against her will. She loved him now more than she could ever say, she just wished that he would believe it when she said it to him.
*Right from the start
You were a thief
You stole my heart
And I your willing victim
I let you see the parts of me
That weren't all that pretty
And with every touch you fixed them*
Hermione went back to the room that she had been using as her own and laid down on the enormous bed. She thought about Loki as usual, he always haunted her thoughts when she was alone. The way he laughed when he was truly amused, the frown that would grace his features when he was confused or annoyed with something that he didn’t understand. She didn’t understand though why he couldn’t talk to her the way he had in the past. They could have spoken about almost everything and now the only time she could get a word out of him was if she enticed him in to a fight. During those fights he would always say the most hurtful things he could think of and she wasn’t sure if maybe that was how he was really thinking and feeling about their relationship. She worried that maybe she was making him stay, subconsciously of course, but making him feel like he had to stay with her and Lidia. She wasn’t sure how to feel anymore and it was confusing.
*Now you've been talking in your sleep, oh, oh
Things you never say to me, oh, oh
Tell me that you've had enough
Of our love, our love*
Hermione found herself sitting at the desk in the sitting room area of the chambers looking at another letter that she was attempting to write to Loki. They all sucked though and she couldn’t bring herself to send any of them, she took out her quill and leaned back in her chair looking at a few of the other ones that littered the desk.
Dearest Loki,
I miss you greatly and I love you...
There were three others next to it that read about the same things. She loved him and she missed him, that she was sorry about leaving him and coming to Asguard but she needed to get away. There was nothing that she could say that would make her leaving him any better or make it right she just...wanted him to know that she was okay and that she was still very much in love with him. She put her head down and let out a sob, it wasn’t the first time she’d cried over him since she’d come to this palace. She knew that what they had wasn’t a lie, it was real and it was amazing but she needed to know that it wasn’t over. She needed to know that he loved her still, that she still aroused him and that he wanted nothing more than to be her everything someone that she couldn’t live without. It was something that she wasn’t sure he would ever tell her.
*Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts
We're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again*
~~((@))~~Loki~~((@))~~
The three weeks without Hermione was something of torture for Loki. Raising Lidia was harder than he had ever imagined and after a few days he missed having Hermione’s laughing voice, her beautiful smile and her warm words. The words that sounded so much like his mothers and yet weren’t the same. His head weighed heavily in hands as he thought about what he wanted to do when she finally came home to him. By now he wasn’t so stupid as to think that she was anywhere other than in Asguard and he worried that she may at that very moment in fact, be lying in his brothers arms in the throes of passion.
He had been so sure that his feelings were made public to her. He thought that she had known that she was his only true love, that without her he might as well be dead and buried along with his mother. He had never felt for anyone the way he felt for Hermione, he had always assumed that he would remain alone his entire life. He thought that it was much of the reasoning behind his misleading need to rule others, because if he was a good ruler than people would love him. He hadn’t lied to Odin when he told him that he meant to rule the people of earth as a benevolent god, he meant every word that he had said. With Hermione and her amazing love on his side all the need to rule was drained from him and he found himself wanting to be everything that she wanted him to be.
*I'm sorry I don't understand
Where all of this is coming from
I thought that we were fine
(Oh, we had everything)
Your head is running wild again
My dear we still have everythin'
And it's all in your mind
(Yeah, but this is happenin')*
As he watched Lidia run out the door to play in the newly fallen snow he allowed his mind to wander to the missing woman again. She told him time and time again that sometimes she had nightmares where he had never come back to her, that she would wake up and he would be gone and she would be back in the smaller house alone again. In the few times that he hadn’t allowed himself to remain mad at her, he would hold her, kiss her and tell her that there was nothing in any of the worlds that could keep him from her.
“How could I have been so stupid?” He asked the empty room.
“You aren’t stupid” Said a soft voice from the doorway leading in to the living room.
“Yes I am, Luna” He whispered “I had her here, with me...close enough to hold and touch and yet I ignored her like an idiot...I can’t even pretend to wonder why she left me”
“Do you really think that she is going to remain gone for good?” Luna asked, walking up behind him and resting her head against his back.
“I don’t know that she won’t be gone for good” He answered.
“She would never leave Lidia behind” Luna told him “And she loves you too much to stay gone”
“But not enough to stay for good” He said, feeling sorry for himself.
“Don’t start the pity party” Luna snapped “She has tried for over a year to make everything up to you and you’ve slammed the door in her face every single time”
“But...” He started.
“No” Luna’s voice for once wasn’t soft and dreamy but was like a whip harsh and biting...and stinging with truth “You want a grown up relationship then you need to give back just as much as you take and not expect her to do everything”
“But...” He said “I’m scared” The words were whispered and hard to say “To love...it’s not easy”
“If it was easy then everyone would do it” Luna smiled “Love is something to be worked at, to fight for, it’s not just words but actions as well, sometimes not smiling at the one you love can determine what kind of day she has or how she feels about herself” A sob was torn from her throat and when Loki looked at her he found the woman that was usually so strong didn’t look well at all “A kiss can make her light up inside, a hug can banish bad dreams and worries, dinner could make her feel like she’s not the only one in the relationship...”
“Luna” He said walking closer to her shaking form her large pale blue eyes were looking at him but they weren’t focused at all.
“A true love sees past his faults” She continued her voice getting manic and her breath coming out quicker and harsher “Sees past his petty jealousies, his anger, greed and hard-headedness. She loves him no matter what and she bears his children and raises them and gets nothing in return...nothing...she gets nothing” Her eyes snapped from the ground to Loki’s eyes and tears streamed down her pale cheeks “Every night he goes out...he comes home late...sometimes early in the morning...the perfume...it’s not mine and it’s all over him”
“Luna” Loki was uncomfortable with the turn of the conversation because he wasn’t very good with other people’s emotions...hell he wasn’t very good with his own.
“What’s wrong with me?” She asked, a strained smile on her face that looked more insane than joyful or even sad “I cook, I clean...I’m raising the children...why am I not good enough for him anymore. He used to love me, why doesn’t he anymore?”
“He does” Loki said, unsure of what else to say “He loves you just like I love Hermione”
“We’re not like you two” Luna answered “We’ve always had to work too hard on our relationship”
“Well” Loki said pulling her in to a chair next to him “If it was easy everyone would do it”
*You've been havin' real bad dreams, oh, oh
You used to lie so close to me, oh, oh
There's nothing more than empty sheets
Between our love, our love
Oh, our love, our love
Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
I never stopped
You're still written in the scars on my heart
You're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again*
When Luna finally left Loki made dinner for Lidia and when it was late enough he sent her to bed. He called Harry over and told him that he needed some alone time and when the other man agreed to stay at the house while he was gone Loki walked out in to the darkness. He walked for a while mulling everything over in his brain and trying to come to a logical conclusion. In the year he had spent wrapped up in his own warped world his best friends (because that was what Luna was) marriage was falling apart and she was blaming herself. Luna was trying to raise two children and she was apparently alone in this endeavor, he sighed angrily because he knew that if Hermione was there she would know exactly what to do or say. All he wanted to do was go to Luna’s house, drag the little red haired prick outside and beat him until he was nothing more than a bloody mess in the snow. That wouldn’t be a good idea though, he had to come up with a better plan and no matter what he tried to think up it was inevitable...he’d have to go and get Hermione from Asguard.
*Oh, tear ducts and rust
I'll fix it for us
We're collecting dust
But our love's enough
You're holding it in
You're pouring a drink
No nothing is as bad as it seems
We'll come clean*
He came back to the house and a relieved Harry who left after apologizing for not knowing where Hermione was. He was a good friend to Hermione which was the only reason that Loki didn’t press the man more than he needed to, that and because he already knew where his woman was. He said goodbye and walked up the stairs to his daughters bedroom, he found that during this trying time in his life he was finding great comfort in just watching the child sleep. It was knowing that he helped make her, that he was able to watch her learn his magic along with Hermione’s and that he could watch her grow that made him smile nowadays. Lidia, like her mother, was a bookworm but had nothing against going outside and showing up the boys on the homemade Quidditch pitch, she would speak often about how she wanted to learn about all the creatures in the world and help take care of them like her mother did. She wanted so much to be like Hermione and it was only now that Loki realized that Lidia looked up to her mother and that he was tearing Hermione down with his selfishness. He was now realizing what kind of woman he was making Hermione in to would form his daughter as well.

Lidia, having gone to bed hours before, lay on her bed sleeping deeply. Her long jet-black curls were fanned out on the pillow around her beautiful pale heart-shaped face, like her father she was deceptively innocent looking. When they were open her eyes were large and blue-green just like his own and her lips were full like her mothers and yet red like his lips. She could warm the coldest of hearts and she knew how to twist people to do what it was she wanted them to do. He knew that was not a quality he should like her having but he couldn’t help but be proud of the woman she was bound to become. He had been terrified of her when he had first meant her, then he had become jealous of her relationship with Hermione, worried that she would take the woman’s love away from him and now he would freely admit that he would move mountains for the little girl. If it pleased her, Loki would become whatever she needed him to be or do whatever she wanted him to do. He knew what she wanted and though it wasn’t in his nature to apologize first or see his own faults he knew that she wanted and needed a family and this circus that they had turned in to wasn’t healthy for her.
*Just give me a reason
Just a little bit's enough
Just a second we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again
It's in the stars
It's been written in the scars on our hearts

As he closed the door to her bedroom he made his way to Hermione’s bedroom and laid down in her bed. He hated that he did this, not because he thought it was weakness but because she should be lying next to him. Again, he wondered what she was doing in Asguard and again he worried that she may be in his brother’s arms. Tomorrow he would go to Asguard, a place he promised he would never go to again and he would once again fight his brother if he needed to. Hermione belonged to him...she belonged with him and not Thor, tomorrow he would go back to Asguard and he would come home with Hermione by his side. He closed his eyes and after a short amount of counting backwards he fell in to a light sleep, the only thing that made it possible was the fact that his woman would be back with him tomorrow.
*Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, we can learn to love again
Oh, oh, that we're not broken just bent
And we can learn to love again*
Okay side note about Thor’s wife. In case you don’t know, in the movies Sif is the female warrior that he often fights with and she is one of his best friends. In the second Thor (sorry if you haven’t seen it) Odin tells Thor to forget Jane and to look at what’s already before him and he points to the warriors in front of Thor that are practicing their fighting. When Thor raises his eyes they lock on to Sif’s gaze and at that moment I decided that she would be a good match for him in my story. Hope you don’t mind too much.
Another little side note. I am currently sitting here writing these notes up listening to ‘Say Something’ and for fair warning I may write a chapter from Hermione POV about the situation and it will have the lyrics for that song if I do. Still listen to the song it’s truly heart-wrenching and was what I was listening to when I started writing this particular story.
