Chapter 3: Eyes
Rage. Anger. Building inside waiting to come out to the world. But it's not the time just yet. Soon he would be able to show the world just how cruel it has been to him. This is what he has known for too long and the more it builds the more pain. With each day passes he gets stronger and more powerful he just needed to keep it in. It will be soon that he will be able to show the world his true colors.
16 year old Andrew couldn't help but groan as he walked down the streets of Digaon Alley. He was surrouned by witches and wizards rushing in and out of shops with their children and some were teenagers just having fun seeing their friends out. It was crowded and he kept bumping into people and he wanted to knock them out but he had to keep his cool. He was just looking out for any aurors; he knew they would be putting extra security around this place since Voldmort was making his presence known again. Plus this boy 'Harry Potter' keeps trying to stop Voldemort along with his little friends. Andrew would be sure he would take down Harry Potter himself and his little friends. Nothing was going to get in his way today. Even though he didn't want to be here he had a mission and he would see it through. He came up with the attack plan and now he and JB were leading it. A small smirk when he thought of his brother who was on the other side of the alley doing they same thing. All their hard work led up to today and there wasn't an auror in sight and he couldn't help but smirk just a little more.
JB was watching people come and go from one of the shops and he just kept shaking his head. 'I can't believe this,' he thought to himself. He was ready to attack every one was in place but he had to wait until Andrew gave the go ahead. He loved his brother but he wanted to wait and he wanted to make sure it went off perfectly. They worked hard to get here and today was the day they would prove to their Lords that they would be capable of being leaders. He couldn't wait to get his hands on Harry Potter. That fool keeps trying to screw up their new Lord's plan. He only met the guy a couple of years ago but he liked him. He wanted the same things he wanted which was a good thing. But he could tell that Voldemort didn't really trust them until they could prove themselves which would be today. Today he would prove to him that he could trust him and Andrew without a doubt he would be able to trust them.
JB looked across the street and saw Andrew coming his way. He smirked and looked at his watch, "Right on time," he said to himself as Andrew walked up to him. "Everyone's in place," JB reassured his brother and Andrew nodded looking across the way and then he locked eyes with the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. Sea green eyes met chocolate brown ones and he couldn't bring himself to look away. There was this familar feeling like he's seen those eyes before but he wasn't sure where. He couldn't pin point it. He wanted to go to her but he felt a hand on his shoulder, "Drew, what's wrong?" He reluctantly took his eyes away and looked at JB, "Nothing thought I saw an auror," he said and walked past him to talk to his group of followers. JB looked after him with a confused look then back at the alley taking it in one more time. With a shurg he followed Andrew and smiled as they got ready.
Hermione tried to find those eyes again but she couldn't. It was as if something was drawing her to him. When she looked at him she felt butterflies and she knew she had seen those eyes before. At first she thought it was Harry but Harry was right beside her holding her hand. She wanted to know where he went. But in the blink of an eye he was gone. She couldn't find him and she felt this disappointment and she didn't know why. She never seen him before and she wanted to feel that again. She never really had this feeilng before not even with Harry and she should be feeling that with Harry but she wasn't. Now deep down she hoped she would see him again and she smiled at the thought. How could a complete stranger that she made eye contact for just a minute made go weak at the knees? She was brought out of her thoughts as she noticed the sky starting to dark. She felt Harry tense next to her and their grips around each other hands tightened.
"Harry do you think?" She asked in a whisper.
"I don't know," he looked up at the sky and saw clouds starting to form into a dragon then a snake right next to it. Then the two forms merged together intertwing within each other. He never saw that before he was expecting the Dark Mark but this was new to everyone.
Andrew and JB looked at each other and clapped their hands together, "Take what you can," Andrew said, "Give nothing back," JB answered with a smile. They raised their hands and then there was a blinding light. "GO!" Andrew yelled and their follows started to flood the street yelling curses and spells every which way causing people to panic. Andrew and JB started to walk onto the street and couldn't help but smile at what was going on. They nodded at each other and went their seprate ways. Knowing to meet back at the castle once the attack was over.
There was panic everywhere and no one knew what to do or where to go. Hermione some how lost Ron and Harry after the light they somehow got seperated. She pulled her wand out of her pocket getting ready to attack. She closed her eyes and took a breath and started to attack anyone who would attack her. She couldn't see the attackers through the smoke she wasn't sure where to cast her spells. She was running dodging curses and throwing some of her own until she could find her next cover. She had to find them. She knew they were around her somewhere she just had to find them.
Andrew was casting curses with his wand and blocking ones that there coming at him with his hand. He smirked as he saw people running away or trying to get out of the area. Every building he came to he would let it go up in flames. This was a message to the people to let them know a threat was here and they were going to stay. He could hear JB doing the same thing and he smirked even more. He looked up and saw their mark floating in the sky. To him it was the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. He had his arms out and he spun around and took in a deep breath. Everything was going according to plan. He opened his eyes and saw some one running and throwing spells. One came his way and he dodged it easily. He threw one back at their direction and they took cover.
Hermione was trying to catch her breath and she saw one of the attackers looking up at the sky and spinning around. This was her chance to get to cover she saw. She ran and threw a spell at them and then hid. She heard a spell come at her and it just missed her. She breathed a sigh of relief and she looked over the broken wall and saw the attacker rushing over to her. She wouldn't go down without a fight. She took a deep breath and stood up, "Stupefy!" She yelled and the attacker dodged it. She sent another one taking a step closer. He dodged it again. She couldn't believe this guy. He was moving as if it was nothing. When he finally got close she gasped it was those eyes again.
Andrew had to laugh at this girl with the small spell she was throwing at him. Was that all she knew? Could she really win with those spells? He kept dodging all of them without breaking a sweat. He did however admire her for having the courage to face him. Too bad he would have to end this silly battle so soon. He was having fun watching her fear grow as he got closer to her. He was almost close to her and he raised his hand about to send a curse her way. Just as it was about to leave his lips he took in a breath and saw those eyes he had saw earlier. He put his hand down and took a step closer to her and she did the same to him.
The two didn't understand what was happening. They were being drawn to each other now they were just inches apart. He didn't know what came over him but he brought his hand up to her cheek and cupped it. They both felt a wave of electricity flow through them and they kept their eyes on each other. "Get out of here," he whispered. She looked at him confused as he started to back away, "GET OUT OF HERE!" He yelled and then he was gone. She tried to go after him but then some one was pulling her back, "Hermione we have to go!" Harry said pulling her towards him. "Hermione!" She turned and saw Harry and nodded, "Let's go."
Andrew, JB and their followers were gone just as the aurors started to show up. They were too late Digaon Alley was left in ruins. All the buildings were now rubble. Aurors were going around putting out fires and tending to the wounded. They knew this attack was different than any other and they couldn't believe their eyes that the alley was now destoryed.
Hermione was back at the Burrow where Ron's mom was tending to their wounds. She couldn't help but think of the guy she saw and how he didn't kill her when he had the chance. Then again she didn't kill him either. There was something about him. She felt like she knew him from a long time ago. But she never met him until now. She got up and looked out the window wondering where he could be. Harry was explaining what happened to Ron's dad. Down to every detail and he knew this attack was different because there was a different mark in the sky. It was a new threat and this was far worse than Voldemort. Now was the time to be prepared because another attack could happen anywhere. Arthur nodded, "I'll write to Dumbledore right away. In the meantime you all stay here and stay safe," he got up and left the room. Everyone started talking again about the attack not noticing that Hermione was still staring out the window still wondering if she would ever see him again.
Andrew was in his bed chambers also staring out of his window. The attack was a sucess but he couldn't help but feel something in the pit of his stomach. Was he really fighting for the right side? This was all he's ever known and he wasn't sure if he could do this anymore. With his mind made up he started to back his duffle bag. He had to leave for a while. He wasn't sure how long but he had to get out there and find out if this is what he truly wanted. Once his duffle was packed he went over to his desk and began to write a note.
I need to find out who I am. After today I'm not exactly sure if this is where I want to be. I need to go away for a while. Please do not try to find me. I will contact you when I am safe and if I am coming home. But for now I need to be on my own and I need to do this. I need to know if this is the right side I am fighting for. Again pleast don't try to find me or contact me. I will be fine.
Andrew.
He picked up his duffle and looked around his room one more time. With a sigh he walked out to his balcony and took a breath and then he was gone. He found himself at the airport. He looked at the flights and he picked one that would get him as far away from England as possible. He found what he was looking for and he smiled. Today he would start a new chapter in his life.
Sunnydale, Califronia 5 days laterBuffy Summers was walking around the cemetery looking for any vampires to keep her town safe. The blonde brown eyed girl was hoping nothing was going on tonight because she had some studying to do and she's been putting it off. Her friend Willow keeps bugging her about it but she couldn't help that she wasn't that great at school. She was good at killing the monsters that people thought were just scary stories. This was her life and this was how it was going to be for the rest of her life. She didn't ask for this, it just came to her and it landed in her lap. She was to keep the world safe and she's saved the world time and time again. She wanted a normal life but she couldn't have that either, not with this kind of life.
She was about to walk out of the cemetery when she heard a rustling on the other side of the wall. She cautiously walked over to the wall and saw a guy fighting off three vampires. She jumped over the wall and started to run over to him. She started to slow down as she watched him fight them. It was as if he knew every punch or kick they were going to give him. He was blocking them and fighting back without so much as breaking a sweat. Before she knew it at the same time all three of the vampires disappeared into clouds of dust. His back was turned to her and she started to walk up to him and before she could ask anything he turned around. She was met with the brightest sea green eyes she had ever seen. She had to catch her breath and he smiled at her. "You must be Buffy," he said and she was brought out of her thoughts.
She nodded and walked up to him, "How did you?" she asked and he smiled and shrugged, "Let's just say I've been fighting since I was able to hold a sword," he told her.
"Who are you?"
"I'm Andrew."
"How do you know about me?"
"You're the talk of the town where vampires are concerned. 'The Vampire Slayer.' Read all about it. Never thought there was one until now." He said with a small smile then started to walk away.
"Where you going?"
He looked around and then back at her, "I'm going home. Got a little place. Gotta go and practice some more I'm a little rusty. I'll see ya around," and with that he was gone.
*****
"I'll see what I can find out about him. From what you tell me it seems highly unlikely some one could take on three vampires and walk away without a scratch," Giles a man in his mid forties said as he was looking over a book. "The way he fought was as if he was walking on air. It was like nothing I had ever seen before," Buffy told him. "Do you know when he got here?" Buffy shook her head, "But he knew me."
"Of course he did. He told you that you're the vampire slayer and you're talk amongest vampires. But I will see if I can find out anything about him. If he has enrolled in this school I'm sure Willow will be able to pull his records."
Buffy nodded and grabbed her bag as she heard the bell ring. She rushed out of the library and crashed into somebody, "Oh God I am so sorry," she said as she started to pick up her books. The person she crased into kneeled down and started to help her pick them up, "It's okay I wasn't looking," they both stood up and she looked at him. "Hey you're that guy."
"Hey you're that girl!" he said in the same tone and smiled. Buffy blushed a bit, "I'm sorry it's just I saw you last night and now you're here. Are you stalking me?" Andrew laughed a little and shook his head. "No I'm just trying to find my english class and they told me the library would have the books I need."
Buffy smiled and grabbed his hand, "Come on there's some one I want you to meet."
JB was pacing up and down in the Great Hall of the castle. It's been a week and there was still no word from Andrew. He sent out his best spies and each of them came up empty. It's been a week since Andrew left and he was getting angry. All he wanted to know what that he was safe. That's all that mattered to him. "Jonathan" he heard and turned and saw Rob standing there with a sorry look in his eyes, JB didn't say anything he just went into Rob's arms and let the tears go. "It's alright my son he will be just fine." The Hall echoed of JB's sobs and Rob's words trying to comfort his adoptive son's sadness.
This was unexecpted to everyone. This put a small bump in their plans. But it wouldn't stop them. They just had to put everything on hold for however long Andrew would be gone. When Andrew came back they would put things back in motion right now they had to focus on trainning and planning their next move. It would take some more time but soon the world would be theirs.
Voldemort found out about Andrew's leaving and was a little hurt because he liked him more over JB. He sighed as he looked out his window hoping that Andrew would turn up soon. "My lord I have this week's report from California," Wormtail said. Voldemort turned around and took it from him. As he read it he couldn't help but smile. He was going to keep it to himself until Andrew would return home. He sat down at his desk and wrote down instructions and gave it to Wormtail. This was good news of course. Now all he had to do was put his pawns in place and wait for the next move.
The pieces are in place and each side are making their moves. It doesn't look so good for one side but each side cannot underestimate the other. But the darkness keeps coming closer and closer. The light seems to be growing dim as the darkness keeps consuming it. There isn't going to be a way out this time. The war has begun.
