What am I doing out here again? I must have lost my mind. This isn’t a good idea. Why bother going to see him again? It won’t change my opinion any. Maybe that is what I’m afraid of. No, I’m not afraid. Why should I be? I’m sure Charlie will prove to be just like his brothers.
I can see his tent from where I am standing. I have chosen to hide behind the trunk of an old tree until I know it is safe to approach. Charlie is sitting alone in front of a small fire, writing in a notebook. He runs a hand through his hair, pushing it out of is face.
Charlie is darker than his brothers. It be be from working outside often. I never knew a Weasley could tan. With their skin you would think they’d wind up redder than their hair if out in the sun for more than five minutes at a time.
I think Charlie knows he’s being watched. He looks up and turns in my direction. I duck behind the tree, hopefully in time. ‘ Draco, I know your there. You can stop hiding now. You aren’t very good at it.’ Charlie places the notebook on the ground.
Slowly, I stepped out from behind the tree, head bowed. I was caught. I walk over to the fire and sit beside Charlie, frowning. ‘ I wasn’t sure if you wanted to be disturbed or not.’ I look up at him. He only smiles. ‘ What were you writing?’ I ask, motioning to the notebook.
‘ Oh, just some notes. What brings you out here?’ Charlie tilts his head and raises an eyebrow. Does he suspect anything? I need to think of something to tell him quickly. I can’t let him try to figure things out on his own. He appears to be much more intelligent than his younger brother.
‘ Couldn’t sleep. My roommates’they snore loudly. I wanted to stay up and chat, they wanted to sleep.’ I force a smile, hoping he bought the lies.
‘ Yeah, it gets pretty dull out here too with no one to talk to. Anything on your mind?’ Charlie motions for me to follow him into the tent. I hesitate before joining him inside. We sit down together. It feels odd to have him sitting so close to me.
I sigh. What do I say now? I hadn’t actually thought Charlie would want to talk to me. Maybe he isn’t like the rest of his family then. ‘ Uh, is there really a sick dragon out there?’ My eyes flicker to the tent door. Charlie nods. ‘ Oh. My’friends didn’t believe there was one.’
‘ He’s out there. I should have him back on his feet and home soon.’ Charlie motions in what must be the general direction of the dragon. I nod and look down at my hands, folded almost too tightly on my lap. My knuckles had begun to turn white. Why am I so nervous?
Charlie leans forward, reaching past me to fix the tent door. Our faces are so close. I can feel his breath on my cheek and his lips nearly brush mine as he leans back. ‘ I should go. They might be looking for me.’ I say hurriedly and stand.
‘ Come back tomorrow night if you want. Maybe we can actually think of a conversation to have.’ Charlie laughed, helping me to open the door.
‘ Sure.’ I say. Sure—no! You can’t go! He’s just like the others. No he’s not—yes he is—no he isn’t—isn’t—stop thinking Draco! Just stop thinking. You’ll only get yourself in trouble. ‘ Goodbye.’ I bolt out the door before Charlie has a chance to speak again.
You wanted to stay, admit it. No, I didn’t. But I did. Just get back to school. All you need is sleep. You didn’t sleep well last night. That is why you are so confused. That has to be why. There can’t be any other reason.

(DRACO)
I walk silently down the corridor, carefully avoiding Filch and his disgustingly unclean cat. No one else seems to be about. That is always good when sneaking around. Hopefully I’ll make it back before anyone notices I’m gone.
‘ Draco Malfoy.’ There’s a stern yet sad voice behind me. I turn slowly, surprised to see Professor Snape standing there. Has he been following me long? I’ll be fine. It’s only Snape. He’d never turn me in.
‘ As much as I wish I could just send you to your dorm and forget this whole thing I cannot. You picked the wrong evening to sneak out. Your father has come to visit you. He knows that you haven’t been in your dorm lately at night. Some of your friends informed him of your terrible habit of wondering around outside. He’s waiting for you.
‘ Instead of taking you to Dumbledore I’ll take you to your father. He’s quite angry and I know how he gets when he’s in one of his moods. Try not to cross him any more than you have to Draco, you will regret it. Trust me.’ Snape places a hand on my shoulder and leads me to what must be his room. With an apologetic smile Snape pushes me into the room and closes the door.
I turn to the bed and see my father sitting there, examining his nails impatiently. ‘ Father? You wanted to see me?’
‘ Yes Draco. I did. That was quite some time ago. Now you must be punished.’
