Chapter 30 Wedding Night
Severus mentally rubbed his hands together with glee. ‘Yes, just the right amount of drunkenness.’
“Stand up Sky, I want to look at you.”
He said, walking round the bed to meet her. He tugged at the ribbon that fastened her cape and it slid from her shoulders and onto the floor.
“Beautiful.” He whispered.
His hands caressed her shoulders and smoothed their way down her arms, onto her waist then up, past the sides of her breasts and over their swell, until he came to the small bow that held the bodice fastened.
Leaning over, he kissed and licked the tops of them as his fingers tugged at the ribbon. The bodice fell open to reveal a sheer royal blue bra of a material so fine he could see her nipples through it.
Sky was so relaxed that every touch of Severus’ lips and fingers was like an electric shock, leaving a trail of fire in it’s wake as he pushed the gown from her shoulders and down her arms.
She keened and whimpered, her legs shaking with want.
He moved behind her, kissing her shoulders, the nape of her neck, his hands still pushing at the gown, moving it over her hips until it joined her cape on the floor.
Running his hands up her thighs and onto her buttocks, he stepped back and looked down, thinking she wasn’t wearing any knickers. Then he saw the thin blue band that went round her hips and between her buttocks. Intrigued, he pressed gently between her shoulder blades so she was bent over, her hands on the bed while he followed the scrap of material as far as he could with his eyes. It was the first time Severus had ever seen a thong. He liked it, very much.
Sky wiggled her bottom at him and he bit it gently, making her cry out and fall face first on the bed.
Straddling her, he unfastened the bra strap then lifted on his knees to turn her over.
“Do you know how beautiful you look? Feel what you are doing to me Sky.”
She gave him a saucy look and brought a hand to the large bulge in his trousers.
“Sky did that. Nice.”
He knew she was well gone. Her speech was stilted and she had no trace of a blush on her cheeks.
“You certainly did, and yes it feels nice. But I want it to feel nicer Sky. You can make it feel nicer for me. You want to make me feel nicer don’t you?”
“Yes. Make nicer. Anything.” She was trying to undo the buttons on his jacket but wasn’t having much success. Her focus was off and her coordination was gone.
“Can’t do.” She told him in frustration and snapped her fingers.
Severus was bare from the waist up. Raising an eyebrow at her, he told her.
“That is cheating.”
But Sky didn’t care. She was too busy suckling at one of his nipples, while her hands ran feverishly over every bit of his skin she could reach.
He fell onto her and possessed her mouth bruisingly, his tongue meeting hers, the two muscles duelling and caressing each other until they had to break the kiss to breathe.
Severus pulled the bra away from her and moved down to pull the thong the rest of the way off.
“I shall only be a moment. Don’t move.”
He dashed into the bathroom, retrieved what he needed and came back. In the minute and a half it took for him to retrieve what he needed from the bathroom, Sky fell asleep. Placing the items on the bed he renervated her again and sat down beside her, watching as she stretched and yawned.
“Tired? Maybe a little more sober up potion will help.”
Just as he reached for the small phial that held the sober up potion, he felt the familiar burning pain in his left forearm. He took a sharp intake of breath. He knew it would happen eventually but why now. This was his wedding night for Merlin’s sake. He was about to …he grabbed his arm as the pain worsened.
Getting off the bed he picked up his wand and dressed himself by magic, then headed to his wardrobe, taking out his Deatheater cape and mask and donning them.
Sky suddenly became fully awake when she realised what he was wearing.
“Severus no. You can’t go. You know you can’t.”
She shivered. The sight of him in that mask reminded her of the time she went to get him back from Voldemort.
“I have no choice, Sky. He knows I am alive. It was only a matter of time. I hoped we would have more but…”
“The wall.”
“What?”
“The wall Severus. We can go in the wall. He can’t get to you there. Your mark never hurt when you were in there.”
“You don’t know that. He thought I was dead when we were inside the wall. It is only since I have returned to Hogwarts that he discovered otherwise. Now I have to go, I am sorry.”
“No Severus, please, at least try. Come in the wall with me now. If it doesn’t work then I’ll come with you.”
“You will not. We shall try quickly but do not hold out any hope.”
Sky ran to the bathroom door and yanked it open. “Come on.” She yelled. “Hurry.”
Severus stepped into the wall house and the mark immediately stopped hurting as Sky closed it behind them.
“Did it work?”
“He removed his mask and pulled up his sleeve.
“Yes. But how.?”
“I don’t know. But no one can even see this place, never mind detect anything from it, not even the dark magic. So I hoped it might mean the same for your mark.”
“Well I cannot pretend that I am not relieved, especially now. But I cannot hide out here every time I am summoned. Eventually I will have to go.”
“Why can’t you hide? Why will you have to go? It’s safe in here, Severus. No one can hurt us here. We can stay here and …”
“No. I shall not live my life hiding in a wall. It is not who I am. What I am.” He placed his hands on her shoulders, taking in the wild look in her eyes. She was still naked and he pulled her close and wrapped his cloak around her. She was shivering but Severus did not think it was from any chill.
“Sky. I am not the kind of man who can keep himself holed away indefinitely. It would not sit well with me and you too would suffer eventually. For tonight, our wedding night, I am willing to stay here with you. But tomorrow we must return to Hogwarts proper. If tomorrow evening the Dark Lord summons me, then I shall go.”
“No Severus, he’ll kill you. You know he will.”
“In all likelihood, yes, but there is also a chance that he may not. By morning, everyone will know we are wed. The Ministry will release the information to the Press as is the way with all wizarding ceremonies. When the Dark Lord learns that you are my wife he will most likely want me to use my influence over you. Persuade you to join him.”
“But I don’t want to join him. You know that.”
“I do, but he does not. You know that I have been working as a spy for the Order for many years, Sky. If you were to join the Order then we could fool the Dark Lord into believing that you are willing to help him, while at the same time finding out what his plans are until you are ready to defeat him.”
Sky had been doing her best of late to not think about killing Voldemort, as much as she hated what he did to her, and to Severus and the rest of the wizarding world. He was still her father. She’d been hoping somewhere deep inside herself that she could make him change. That if he knew who she was he would want to know her, maybe even like her a bit and stop being bad. Maybe if she did like Severus suggested, she could get to know him and then tell him who she really is. And if it kept Severus alive then it would all be worth it.
“Alright.” She told him quietly.”
“All right what? What are you saying, Sky?”
“I’ll join the Order. I’ll help you spy. I’ll do anything you say if it keeps you alive Severus.”
He was overcome at her words. She was willing to put her life at risk for him. He knew it was more then he deserved. Regardless of how much he loved her, he was still a selfish bastard. He wanted to possess her completely, bend her to his will and have her do what he wanted for his own pleasure more than his own. Yet she was willing to do this, risking her own life, even knowing the Dark Lord sired her and had already tried to kill her. Then when he could not, he paid someone to do it for him. Severus did not really expect her to agree to this even though he suggested it to her. But the fact that she had threw him for a sickle.
“You are a very special young woman Sky, and I shall do everything in my power to see that you come to no harm. I promise you.”
Picking her up, he carried her into the wall bedroom and took her as a man should take his wife on their wedding night. Tenderly, lovingly, as he should have wanted to do in the first place. The plans he originally had for her now gone out of the window; his selfishness forgotten at the true devotion she showed him. Only true love brought that kind of sacrifice and he was willing to make sacrifices too, for now.
When Sky woke the following morning, she reached out for Severus but he was gone. Startled into wakefulness, she sat up quickly and winced at the pain between her legs.
Severus had made love to her for most of the night. He’d put her into positions she didn’t know she was capable of and she’d loved it; all of it. Then she remembered why they were in the wall. ‘Oh no please don’t let him have gone to see Voldemort.’
“Severus.”
She screamed as she scrambled out of bed. Her wand flew into her hand and she was dressed in an instant as she ran through the bedroom door.
“Oof!”
“Ouch! What on earth is wrong?” He asked as he grabbed her arms before she fell back.
“Where were you? I thought you’d gone to…”
“Silly chit, I was merely getting us some breakfast. I thought you might be hungry after last night. Oh and this.”
He passed her a small green phial. “I take it you are sore after our activities.”
Sky was too relieved to be embarrassed.
“Yes I am. I just panicked when you weren’t there.”
She took the phial from him. Now she knew he was safe, she began to feel all the aches and pains again and soon drained the contents.
“Oh that’s better.”
“Good. Well I have run you a bath, so go get in and your breakfast will be waiting when you have finished.”
He gave her a kiss on the top of her head and flicked his wand in her direction.
Her jaw dropped when she realised that he’d just removed her clothes and she turned to flee to the bathroom with a squeal.
As soon as she turned, he slapped her bum and headed back to the kitchen with a smirk on his face and the beginnings of a bulge in his trousers.
Twenty minutes later, she joined him for a hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomato’s, sausages, mushrooms and toast. Neither spoke as they ate, both thinking about what the future held when Sky joined the Order and went on to spy on the Dark Lord.
“What’s the Order Like? What will I have to do? Will there be a lot of people?”
“You already know what the Order does. But basically you will be taken to Headquarters and your name put forward for vote. Once you are accepted, you will take an oath and meet the other Order members. How many show is always variable, but there must be at least eleven members present before you can be accepted. I know you do not like large amounts of people, but most of them are reasonable and I think you will like most of them. You may even get a chance to meet the wolf.”
“The wolf? Oh Severus , the potion, what day is it?”
“Saturday. What stage are you up to?”
Sky breathed a sigh of relief.
“It’s alright. I just got mixed up with my days. I don’t need to add the Llex until tomorrow. Then it will be ready.”
“The Llex? What Llex? And what do you mean it will be ready tomorrow? That is impossible. What potion did you make?”
“Th…the Wolfsbane like you told me to. Have I done it wrong? You can’t need it yet it’s not full moon for another two weeks.”
“Sky I do not know what you have brewed but Wolfsbane takes two weeks to brew, and it does not contain Llex.”
“It does so. I know how to make Wolfsbane Severus. Sal had me make it so many times I can brew it with my eyes closed.” She told him irked.
“Of course you can. Don’t listen to him.” Called a voice from the living room.
“SAL.” Sky cried as she got off her seat and ran through to see him. “How long have you been here?”
“Only a couple of minutes. Ah, Professor Snape, you dare to dispute my potions making methods?”
“Of course not.” Severus told him. “But I have never heard of Llex being used in the making of Wolfsbane.”
“Just because you have not heard of it does not mean it is wrong, just different. I think you will also find her version much superior to your own. It will be ready by tomorrow, not in two weeks. Tell me, how long are you able to store your own Wolfsbane?”
Severus looked at him indignantly. “Everyone knows that Wolfsbane cannot be kept. That is why the brewing must begin fourteen days before the full moon.”
“Wrong again. The Wolfsbane Sky has made, and I might add greatly improved somewhat herself, will keep for a year. I dare say she has made enough for the full twelve months. Am I right my dear?”
“Err yes Sal. Four doses. Please you two, I wish you would both get on with each other. You’re my favourite people in the world and I love you both. I don’t want you to argue.”
Both men looked at her slightly abashed.
Sal bowed to her.
“Anything for you, Sky, you know that.”
Severus took her hand and kissed it.
“I would only do this for you. You know that?”
She nodded and smiled at them both. “Good. Now that’s cleared up we can…”
“Wait a minute.” Severus interrupted. “You said you made four doses for the year. Don’t you mean twelve?”
“No four. One every three months. Why?”
“And what about the months in between?”
“It’s one dose every three months Severus. With the flavour of your choice. That’s why I asked if I could meet the werewolf. To find out what kind of things he liked best to eat.”
Severus’ jaw dropped. His own improved potion was worthless if hers really worked as she said it does. He turned to Salazar.
“I admit I am stunned. How long has this potion been in existence?”
“Oh not long. We originally brewed it the old way but it was mainly Sky here that figured out the changes. She is the smartest pupil I have ever had the privilege to tutor. Extremely quick off the mark with the right handling. She has undertaken some pretty intensive training Professor. Not once did she slack. Everything she was taught stuck in her head like her life depended on it. You could learn much from her you know.”
“Yes I am beginning to realise that. And please call me Severus. If we are to be acquaintances then it is preferable to Professor.”
“Very well Severus. You may call me Salazar. I am afraid only Sky gets to call me Sal. Well apart from Rowena, Helga and Godric of course. Sky will be a great asset to you Severus, if you allow her to be. Take care of her won’t you?”
“I most certainly will. That is why I married her after all. That and the fact that I care deeply for her.”
Sal knew this was Severus’ way of saying he loved Sky and let the subject drop.
“Well I must be going. The others are desperate to know if everything is alright between you two. You know where I am if you need me Sky. Good day to you both.”
The Slytherin Founder faded from his frame and Severus turned to Sky.
“You are going to have to show me this potion of yours. I am interested as to how you came to your alternative brewing methods and why. Also I would like to know what other changes you have made to the ingredients.”
He was in Potion Master mode now and Sky didn’t see the point in trying to change the subject.
“It’s in my lab at Hogwarts. Come on and I’ll show you what I did. But if your mark burns when we go through that door we’re coming straight back here and I’ll make some more down stairs.”
He raised both eyebrows at her authoritative tone. ‘Had she just given him an order? Two orders?’
Before he could respond, Sky opened the door into her lab and stepped through. He had no choice but to follow.
She waited just inside the door, watching him to see his reaction as he walked in.
“Anything?”
She asked, looking at his arm.
Holding it up he pulled back his sleeve.
“No, not a thing, he must have given up, although you do know he will try again.”
“I know he will. But now we can make him wait until we’re ready. See what he thinks to that eh?” She told him with a grin.
Severus could not help but be caught by her infectious smile and returned it with one of his own.
“Now. Wolfsbane”.
Sky led him into her store cupboard and told him the ingredients she put in, how she decided why to substitute one ingredient for another and how she prepared them and why. The she sent him the image of her making the brew so he could see exactly what she did. Next she showed him the Llex Paraguanensis root.
“If it’s shaved coarsely directly into the potion, the juices infuse better and then it’s ready much quicker. The flavouring is added just before it’s drunk. It only needs a level teaspoon of whatever the drinker likes. Sweet or savoury. It doesn’t affect the potions magical properties. What do you think?”
“What? I think it’s bloody impossible. But if it works then it will be nothing short of a miracle. And he will still be able to think humanly during the change?”
Sky scrunched her face up. “He wont change Severus. He might still be a bit angsty, but a strong calming potion in the brew will help with that. But he’ll stay human. It’s not a cure I know, but it’s the best I can come up with.”
He laughed at her disbelievingly. “Not a cure? It’s the next best thing. If this potion works you can market it. You will be bloody rich.”
“Market? Rich? I don’t know what that means, not that it matters. The main thing is I know it will work on your werewolf.”
There was a knock at the study door. Severus turned to go answer it, his expression one of mingled disbelief and anticipation at seeing the results when Lupin took the potion. Before he opened the door, he turned back to her.
“Sky, keep this potion to yourself for now. It would not do to raise anyone’s hopes before it is proved.”
She frowned at him and nodded. It didn’t need proving as far as she was concerned, but she agreed anyway to keep him happy. ’You’ll see.’ She thought.
Albus walked into the study with a copy of the Daily Prophet.
“Have you two seen this yet?”
Both shook their heads as Albus laid the paper on the table and showed them the headlines.
“Is there a problem, Albus?”
“Read for yourself, Severus.”
THE DAILY PROPHET
SNAPE/MORRIGAN HANDFASTING ANNOUNCEMENT
The Ministry of Magic today revealed that Severus Snape, Potions Master at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry were married last night.
Severus Snape, suspected Deatheater and Miss Sky Morrigan, previously believed to be deceased, were joined in a secret handfasting ceremony held at Hogwarts. The handfasting was believed to have been presided over by Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster at Hogwarts.
A spokesman for the Ministry told our reporter that the Ministry were shocked when greeted with the official documents this morning.
Mr Lucius Malfoy was already in the process of filing a petition for his son, Draco Malfoy to wed Miss Morrigan.
An investigation is being held as to the validity of the contract as Miss Morrigan has been registered as deceased for almost seventeen years.
As yet, officials refuse to say weather or not the contract is breakable under wizarding law.
See page 10 for more on Severus Snape: Deatheater or not?
Page 15 Sky Morrigan: Authentic or Charlatan?
Severus snatched up the newspaper and ripped it angrily.
“HOW DARE THEY!” He bellowed. “They have no right to question our marriage. Of course it is legal. Isn’t it? Tell me it is legal, Albus.”
