EPILOGUE TO REBIRTH OF MERIN

The years past quickly after Lucas Snape and Albus Dumbledore left England in search for Lucas�s parents. They had found them after two years in America. And Lucas�s tried his hardest to be apart of their family. But after a year of trying Lucas gave up and the two of them returned to Britain.

There they resided in Mrydrrin Castle , watching Magical Britain blossom beautifully under Lucas�s rule. The Ministry was running the best it had in centuries.

The Malfoy�s were always visiting and wanting Lucas to settle down and have children. But Lucas told them with him being immortal having a family and children wasn�t possible. And when their son, Draco married and started a family of his own. They stop pushing Lucas .

It was a cold day in December. The year 2010 when Albus Dumbledore took his last breath and left Lucas alone in Mryddrin. Lucas became depressed and it took the whole of the Malfoy family to keep Lucas from drowning in his misery. For he had lost his only Grandfather. The one that stood beside him since his birth and never faultered with his understanding. He was 225 years old one of the oldest wizards that had even lived. And Lucas had just turned 30 all though he had stopped aging at 25. This was the first time in many that made wish he wasn�t gifted with immortality.

But as live has a tendency to move on, so had Lucas. The next ten years of his life he stayed with in Britain and close to the Malfoy family. As close as he let himself. For he was in his forties and Draco was the same age as him. But Draco looked his age and there were times when Draco�s kid would ask why Draco was close to someone younger than him.

It hurt and when he was devastated when Lucius and Narcissa were killed while on vacation in the US. Something had happened to their ship and it blow up on the way from Key West back to Britain. That was the last time Lucas�s had seen Draco and his family they had moved not soon after to Paris. And hadn�t even informed him where they were living. And with the respect he had for the late Malfoy�s he didn�t try and find them.

Lucas was just turning sixty when he received a letter with the Snape family crest on the back . He sat down at his desk in the study and opened it. Just to see what they wanted after all these years.

Dear brother,

I know you probably don�t remember me. But I was the boy you held that day in the nursery in Snape Manor. Any way my sisters and younger brothers wanted you to know of the death of Mother.

Father thought this letter unwise, but as he is grieving I�ve discarded his thoughts on this matter. She was your Mother too and as such, you have every right to be here.

The funeral is at the Manor here in America. You know the one where you and Grandfather Albus came to for awhile. Anyway it�s scheduled for July 30th at 3pm. I hope you attend, but if not I understand.

Lucas was silently crying as he finished the letter. Even after all these years he never stopped loving his Mother. She was his first and know he would never get the answer to why she abandoned him.

Packing a bag for the week, Lucas shrunk it and changed into his phoenix form and flamed to the Manor in America. The 30th was today and by the time he arrived it would 3pm. He�d get there just in time to watch her burial. And then he�d find somewhere to stay for the week.

Snape Manor Gardens : America

�He�s not coming Gabriel. I tried to tell you all that what your mother and I did to him was terrible. And that we couldn�t try to fix it when he came here that time. � Severus Snape looking very old and very tired said.

As his children could tell that he was going to live much longer either. That was also the reason for the letter to their older brother. They wanted him to forgive him and tell him that he was forgive before he too died.

They didn�t notice that a young man looking 25 was coming toward them. He had heard everything that his Father had said. And was going to give the man so peace at least. Even if his Father didn�t want him. He still loved his parents.

�Father� came the cold drawl of a voice from behind Severus. Causing the older man to stiffen. He knew that voice and turned around to see the face of Lucas. But instead he faced a young man around 25 that looked just like his son would have at that age.

�You�re not Lucas, he would be 60 by now.� Severus snapped as he didn�t want to believe this young man in front of him was Lucas.

�But I am Father. I�m the first Silver Wizard and I�m also immortal. That�s why I look no older that my twenties.� Lucas replied with a sad smile. It hurt to see such a strong man so broken. He didn�t even acknowledge the gasps coming from what he figured was his siblings.

�Can you ever forgive me Lucas?� whispered Severus as he looked at the young man before him. If this wasn�t his son then he didn�t care at least he could get some peace.

� I�ve forgive you and mother a long time ago Father. You were just too stubborn to see it.�

�Lucas� Severus sobbed as he grabbed the young man and held him as he cried out his grief.

�How�s Luc and Cissa, Lucas?� Severus asked as he pulled away from his oldest son. A son that looked younger than his other children.

Lucas shook his head. �They�ve been gone for about thirty years Dad. And Draco well he was in Paris last I heard and that was years ago.�

�So you�re alone then?� Severus whispered as tears came from his eyes.

�I�ve gotten used to it Dad. I still run Britain from the Shadows .� Lucas remarked with a slight pain in his eyes.

�You should stay here, Lucas. Leave Britain and come here. Stay with me Lucas. Stay with what�s left of your family.� Severus implored to him with hope in his eyes.

�I don�t know, � Lucas started as he glanced at his siblings as they had begun nodding for him to stay. �Alright I�ll stay for a little while at least.�

�Thank you.� Severus stated as he turned to the ceremony of his late wife. Hoping that he could fix the rift within his family.

And Lucas stayed. He stayed until after his Father was buried. Then he bid his siblings farewell. It was time to move on again, he was almost 90 at the time. Telling them he would like to remain in contact with the family.

And he did until they too had forgotten that he existed. But he still watched as his family continued to grow and every year you would find a young man. With long black hair streaked with silver and emerald eyes lined in gold with specks of blue standing between the grave stones of Severus & Lilly Snape .
Telling them about the world they left behind. He often wondered why Fawkes had gifted him with immortality, and when he�d asked the Fire Phoenix the only answer he�d receive was.

�You�ll understand when the time comes.�
